Now on road trip east & yelp lead us here. Exterior not much to look at but don't let that fool you. Food & service were both really good. There was a lunch wing special (.40c each) so added a dozen to share with my son. The mesquite BBQ sauce was very tasty. The burger was juicy & had lots of flavor. Got in & back on road in less than 40 minutes - added bonus for a non-fast food place.

Best wings in town???? Not even close. I don't understand how for the past two years )2011 and 2012) they got a best wings in town award. The hot sauce is not homemade it is definitely either Krystal Hot Sauce or Franks Hot sauce. Wings were overcooked and dry. My wife ordered a medium rare steak that came out well done. The shrimp bisque soup was ok and the house dressing was pretty good. Overall, the food was very bad and there is no way I would ever go back to Ted's or recommend it to a friend. I have been a kitchen manager for the last 8 years and have a degree in Culinary Arts, and I can honestly say that the wings were terrible. If you want better wings, go to Angie's on Eisenhower Blvd or the Wharf right off Derry Street. Again, don't waste your time the wings are way overrated.

Great food, in a casual atmosphere. Very diverse menu with generous portions. The crab stuffed mushroom appetizer was worth the visit alone. Ask to set out front, you could hang meat in the back room during the Summer months when the AC is on.

The place is a little dated and could use a makeover. They are known for their wings and I should have had those. But I wasn't in the mood and decided to try the soup an appetizer and a crab cake. It's was all ok but nothing extraordinary. Will stop back to try the wings at a later date.

Ted's has great wings, arguably the best in the Harrisburg area. Sweet & Tangy, Hot, and the Thai BBQ are great sauces especially. The beer selection is always good, and for a very reasonable price. One example was the Big Gruesome Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout, which was on special: at another bar, it was 3 dollars more. The only negative is that Ted's is a small restaurant, which can make for crowded situations when they're busy. All and all, that's not too bad, but it might preclude you from getting a table if you're only going to be having drinks.

Exceptional ! I am somewhat of a regular here . Food is great and their daily specials pricing is wonderful. Its loud, but it is a bar and dining room environment, but certainly not a deal breaker. The service is always good, but downright blows me away tonight. My server, Tommy, is busy busy but does not forget and is on his game. I no longer drink, but they do have a good craft beer selection as I recall. I can't say enough..... it is all great!

We came in at 10:30pm after being on the road ALL DAY... This place was just what we needed. It is a little local joint, nothing fancy, just the way I like it. The staff was so friendly and nice and they had recommendations on what we should try. The PA BBQ wings. They are tossed in a dry seasoning and it was delicious! Lots of heat with sweet. Friends got the dejavu wings and the tomahawk wings. Wow! If you like spicy stuff, this is IT! We all were satisfied with our meals and we washed it down with a pitcher of Yuengling. Couldn't beat the prices either. Definitely better than some chain restaurant. Bar was hopping too with the locals. Definitely worth a try!

Been to teds a few times. The waitresses are always friendly and give good service. The regular male bartender is the exact opposite. He is kind of a jerk. Most of the food is good but how they are voted Best Wings is beyond me. The wings are terrible. The sauces are ok but tbey are always cooked to death. If you go there get steak or a burger they are very good

Wings are the only thing I would eat here I ordered shrimp and they weren't cooked all the way my server was rude an didn't even try to compensate us for the uncooked food might I add that was on two of our orders like I said the only thing I would order is wings an it would have to be take out

After reading all the reviews, decided to go here for the wings. They were terrible. Not sure if it was just a bad night, but they were over-cooked, dry, and tough as shoe leather. Gave it 2 stars as our waitress was very nice and overall service was good.

I had the opportunity to head to Ted's on a Restaurant.com gift card. You needed to spend at least ~$20 and you got $10 off your meal from the card. The PA BBQ wings are absolutely the best. They are covered in the Middleswarth BBQ chip seasoning and it makes for the best wings. Ordered about 18 of these and a large basket of fries. Enough Ranch and Blue Cheese dressing to go around for the two of us. Beer isn't too expensive compared to some other places down the road, however I really want to go in for their Monday special on Yuengling drafts and wing special. Always a great place to go!

Waited 1 hour and half for the most overrated wings ive ever had. Dry and overcooked with bland sauce ...25cents so all the cheap asses go here. This place is filthy too, kinda like my granmas basement. Ill spend the extra money for better bigger tastier wings at eagle hotel. Go to eagle and avoid this place.

I have been to Ted's twice since the remodel. The first trip was fun. It's not fresh prime rib so if you're picky, avoid that, but everything else was pretty good. Last night we went hoping to catch the hockey game but the bar was full. The hostess, an older lady, would not give us a table because we explained we had already eaten we were just there for drinks and hockey. We left disappointed and a bit upset because we were with my elderly in-laws who had just driven from Florida. We ended up spending 80 dollars at Aroogas and enjoying the game. Sorry, Ted's, you're now behind Aroogas and that's pretty low in our book.

Took the kids to a nearby park before we headed home after a trip to Hershey and found this on Yelp. We were a bit skeptical driving as it looks rather dive-like from the outside. We walked into the testosterone infused sports bar to see about a table and found a sweet waitress and were seated immediately. We were a large party so the boss came over to help. Everyone was nice, warm and friendly. Since our fellow Yelpers were unanimous in their recommendations of the wings, we tried three different kinds and were not disappointed. The grilled buffalo chicken salad was yummy, the kids loved their hot dogs and pasta and the chili was good, too. Probably won't be back since we're from NY but it was a great find on Yelp!

I love going here with my family. We've been going there for years. Their wings are phenomenal. Not too big or too small. They are the perfect size. They always come out very crispy and a lot of sauce. The way wings should be. Never been disappointed with this establishment. Highly recommend this place.

This is a review for the midtown location. We were a huge fan of brick city that was there before and decided to give teds a shot. Place was way too crowded. Waitress was not experienced. Didn't know much about the beers on tap, couldn't handle splitting up our order and got several of our orders wrong. My friend and I ordered boneless wings and she gave us on the bone wings with the wrong flavors. When we told her she said "well thats just how they made them". My boyfriends hot wing sub was sub par to say the least. Waitress couldn't get the checks correct either and put the wrong beers in/wrong things on people's checks. Maybe she's new, but when you're a crowded spot you need staff with experience. Not sure if its just growing pains or they just aren't up to the task. We might give them a chance again several months out, but overall were disappointed midtown residents.

Ted's wings are top notch. Hot/ BBQ and Middleswarth are must haves. Good beers on tap to go with your wings too.

Really good wings and the other food is pretty good too, but not great. This is a good place to go out with some friends and drink the night away. Sometimes they have live entertainment too, which is fun, but can make the place a bit too crowded and loud. (it's not the biggest seating area.) The only other (minor) complaint is the decor... This place seems like it's not sure if it's trying to be a sports bar or a greek restaurant, it has an odd mix of both. The front area is strictly sports bar while the back has that greek restaurant feel. Like I said, minor complaint. The staff is always friendly and helpful and meals (and beer) are served in a timely fashion.

Looks like a dive on the outside, but it's not. The food was good and on par with what we expected. Went with my family and felt a little awkward initially because the entrance is part of the same room as the bar, and I felt like everyone turned and looked at us as we came in. Definitely had a neighborhood bar feel. But the main dining room is separate from the bar, and we were not the only diners with kids, nor did we feel awkward any longer. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and liked it so much he came back a second night. They had an excellent selection of beers. Kids ordered from the adult menu and enjoyed the food. Laid back atmosphere.

I'm conflicted; they were busy but it took at least 20 minutes for a waitress to show up at our table. Took order right away. Took again what seemed like forever for the drinks to arrive (2 waters and a draft beer). Wings appeared and it was the wrong order. Once we got the correct order (fairly quickly) they were delicious; garlic BBQ. My Pittsburgher Salad was the best I've had, and my wife's eggplant Parmesan was apparently good. (I don't like eggplant). So good food, not great service.

excellent food. Love the boom-boom wing sauce, creamy, just a tinge sweet and a good level of heat. The wings are cooked to have crispy skin which I love. I hate to eat barely cooked rubbery gooey skin. The reuben was also great, well griddled rye bread and tender corned beef. It always is good to have the thousand island dressing on the side so I can put as much as I want on the sandwich. The staff were very nice. I have no idea why some commenters ding a restaurant if they are busy at the typically busy times for a restaurant. That's great for the restaurant and it only shows that the commenter is just a selfish twit who thinks everyone should cater to only them. You don't like crowds? Then go on off times.

Went in with my girlfriend for a beer and some wings. The interior is small, and dimly lit, but it is not dirty. There is a bar area up front and table seating in back. The service was quick and we promptly ordered 27 of the hot wings and 2 lagers. The beer was clean and crisp. One of my biggest pet peeves is dirty tap lines. They clearly cleaned theirs. The wings were good. One thing I really like about the wings here is that they are nice and crispy, however the sauce distribution wasn't very even, so some wings were super saucy, and some were dry. Rumor is that they are moving to a larger location soon.

This place does not look good from the outside, or inside. The carpet is terrible and a wood laminate or tile would be cleaner looking. The chairs were padded and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and our waitress was one of the best I have ever had. I am not sure what all the fuss is about their wings. Good selection and creative choice of flavors. I had a dry rub that left a nice burn on your lips, but friends had garlic parm and the wings were sitting in grease. As requested the wings were crispy, but not particulary large. The happy hour price 40 cents I thik was very good. The celery that came with bleu chees was large. Beer choices are limited. Most demand is for the old big brewers. There were some craft beers but no IPA the most popular of craft beers. The lamb was OK. The main reason we chose this restaurant. The garlic aioli was too strong for me and I think it had curdled. The fries were terrible, frozen and coated with some seasoning. A place like this should be doing fresh cut. I like hot peppers but they did not belong with this dish. The flat bread was just a wedge. To improve this place would suggest using a pita pocket for the lamb and serve with a cucumber , garlic yogurt sauce. Serve with fresh cut fries or rice and spicey beans. Add at least one IPA on tap and add a cask beer if you want to stand out from all the other pubs. Keep the waitress with the neck tat, she is the greatest.

Our friends recommended we all go there. We've never been there before. I had the best burger and wings! The place was busy but the server's were never far away and came to the table often. The owner even stopped by and checked on our table. I could tell he really cares about his business and most of all, his customers! Good food at a great price!

I love their wing flavors. I haven't tried anything else on the menu because the wings are soo good. Monday's is 30 cent wing night.

I came here because i heard that they had great wings. i walked in and hit a wall of humanity. the place was packed! the hostess was really nice. i was only and i felt bad taking up a table but the bar was overcrowded. i only had to wait about 10 mins to get a seat and i was waited on right away. i ordered the hot garlic and the boom boom. i liked that i could split an order. a lot of places wont let you get more than one sauce unless you order like fifty wings. the blue cheese was pretty good. nice big chunks (if you like that, i do). not enough of it though. the wing size was great but here is my compliant: if you are going to call a sauce "hot garlic" it should be hot and it should taste like garlic. i didn't care too much for those. the boom boom was good. it is a cream sauce. over all the staff were very friendly and helpful. it looked like it was "all hands on deck", i saw the manager clearing and wiping tables. i would come back to try the some other item on their menu.

I LOVE TED'S!!!!!!!!! If you're lookin' for class, go elsewhere. This is where you go for down home, rough & gruff, sports bar chillage. They have the best wings in the 'burg. The rest of the food is decent. And I will travel there from anywhere in the USA to dig into an order of these fried crab & cheese ball things they have. AWESOME! Knock on Ted's and you can deal with me ;-)

I must say the food here is very good and the wings are killer some of the best around by far ... The reason my rating is so low is this turned into a high school hang out way too many kids here esp for a Monday night I thought this was a bar not chucky cheese or cd pizza .

Christopher M/ is right on here with hs review. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 and not a 4 is that on that particular night, the kitchen and the service was really slow, and we were anxious to get back on the road. The waitress was a sweetie pie, though. The wings were great. (They charge extra for celery though - I've never seen that before). That's seemed to be what most people were ordering. They try very hard here; the restaurant was decorated for halloween, they had lots of specials, and the staff was dressed in costumes. Hubby said his burger was great. I had the chicken gyro. It needed a little more spice, but it was very fresh. They had quite a few Greek dishes I would have like to try. I suspect that there's a hard-working Greek behind the scenes.

The wings at Ted's are meaty and they have a larger selection of sauces and rubs than most other places. However, the wet-style wings come half submerged in a puddle of sauce--way too much sauce. The dry-rubbed wings are a better bet and are what I usually get. Still, for wings in the immediate area, I would give the nod to the Eagle Hotel on the square in Linglestown. Sandwiches and other dishes at Ted's are OK, but certainly not outstanding. I try to go at off hours, as the place is a zoo when they have specials or on game days/nights and parking can be difficult to find.

Ted's is a little hard to find, you need to get on route 22 (aka allentown blvd) and go eastbound away from colonial park, it will be on your right hand side after karns, cvs and burger king. its on the eastern end of lower paxton twp. *cough cough* MONDAY is wing night! but it always takes forever to get them there. They'd rather you had a few of their expensive beers to make up their profit margin on their food, so almost every time I've ordered "To-Go" they would say a time, I'd show up around that time, and then they'd tell me 15 more minutes. They never let you pay in advance too, you have to wait until the foods actually ready to get they also have dinners and lunch specials, which are kinda standard, alright if you're in the area, but not worth trying otherwise. ~~~UPDATE nov 2008~~~ last time i went with a friend, a co-worker, and super yelper liz m, and here they gave us bills separately, here i asked for change, my bill was maybe 6 dollars, they didnt give me anything, the waitress had left. I couldnt believe it, so minus 1 star. Also the front door area is hogged up by smokers, who are out of control. since Penna. banned smoking indoors the smokers now gang up near the front door.

I just moved near here...and thought I'd found a local bar! Well...while the food is decent, and the service at the bar is pretty quick...the tab sucked. They don't have happy hour. WHAT? What bar doesn't have happy hour??? My boyfriend asked what time theirs was, and..."We have daily drink specials. No need for a happy hour" was the bartender's reply. Ummm...okay. But what about those who DON'T drink Miller Light? Us drinkers who actually LIKE the taste of a good beer or cocktail, but want a reason to come to your establishment? Guess we're taking our business down the road to aroogas--happy hour AND daily specials. ...even if their food isn't as good. We'll probably still go...but not to DRINK.
