Living near Derry St has its perks, and having Mama's Pizza down the street is one of them. Mama's pizza is one of those rare pizza shops that has great tasting pizza and great owners. I especially love the crispy crust, great sauce, and the cheese that's so good! And if I ever had an issue with my order, the owner or whoever was working would fix my issue without question. I just love great pizza shops like this.

Mama's Pizza is nestled in a small residential neighborhood and hosts a variety of pizzas, Stromboli's, chicken wings, etc. Crispy crust, cooked to perfection. Stop in if your in Harrisburg.

Um, so yea .. not sure about all the glowing reviews of this place. I actually dropped in because of all the chatter about the place - minus the review by Thomas F. because his opening statement actually makes no sense at all. This place in my humble opinion, is nearly the same as any other pizza shop in the area. Same style of bread and ingredients that are exactly why I'm not a fan of it. To be completely honest, I rarely have reason to buy a hoagie or pizza in the central PA area because most shops don't make product worth eating. That being said, I do hate to leave negative reviews .. the shop is a nice little place with some limited outdoor seating. Service was nice enough, and my order came out immediately. If you're a local you would probably enjoy this spot. If you are accustomed to have quality big-city pizza and hoagies from NYC or Philly then this place is not for you.

3+ stars. Central PA is a land of very good pizza joints (thanks to all the descendants of Italian immigrants), and this is one of the best. Humble dining room, small sidewalk dining area, very friendly delivery. Also very good cheesesteaks on store-made bread.

Very lovely quaint local pizza place. It reminds me of a true "neighborhood" pizza shop. Very nice staff and good food. What else do you want from a local pizza place? They have some modest seating outside when the weather is nice too. Call Papa John's if you want to support the corporate machine and min. wage jobs. But if you want each pizza to be a true made-by-hand by people who live locally, you can't do any better than this.
