So happy we found this place after we moved to the area. I love that you can see their menu online. You can eat in or take out. If you eat there, options include inside (typical pizza place seating and ambiance) and it gets pretty loud. You can also eat outside at the tables weather permitting. They do not offer delivery at this writing, but pick up is quick and easy - although on peak weekend nights finding a parking spot could be a challenge. Staff are always energetic, happy, and grateful for your business (very rare these days). We have ordered many items from their menu and never had a bad meal. Their garlic knots are fresh and very good! My favorite item on the menu and the reason for this review is for their Sicilian pizza. It's difficult to find a pizza shop that makes Sicilian around here, or makes it right. These guys do it perfect. I typically call and order a Sicilian pie every other week if not every week. Note that it takes about 45 minutes to make, so you want to preplan and not call in when you're absolutely starved! Ingredients always taste fresh and nothing is ever overcooked or burnt. Sauce is a bit on the tangy side vs sweet. They accept cash, debit and credit cards. Since this is a small business I try to pay with my debit option versus credit option to save them from having to pay a fee to the credit card companies. If they delivered we would be ordering multiple times a week!

kind of dissapointed in this place. The pizza was salty and crust as very chewy to the point my jaws were hurting after eating just one slice. They must have worked the dough to much. Also, the soup tasted like the soup campbells sells to the food service industry that is in a bag that you boil. It did not taste homemade at all. based on the reviews I was expecting much better food. My jaws are still hurting and I ate 3 hours ago.

Fair prices. Ok service. Average pizza. Nothing to complain and nothing to rave about . Better than Wegman's pizza if you need a gauge.

I can now finally lend a review to this place after sampling several of their staple dishes. I've been a fan ever since arriving in Harrisburg 3 years ago. Central PA seems to have a mom-and-pop pizza shop on every other corner, but Italian has some of the best slices around: Thin crusts that are a combination of chewy and crunchy, not too thin and not too dry, just right. I still haven't tried one of their strombolis, but if they use the same dough as the pizzas, I'm sure they're good. Then there are fresh ingredients and toppings; I like white pizza, and Italian's choices are really nice: well-topped without being greasy (I like the Mediterranean). Everyone has their preferences, but this place should satisfy most pizza-worn palates, and they sell 6 or 8 of their most popular pizzas by the slice, displayed right up front when you walk in. Their Spinach Rolls (this seems to be a Pennsylvania specialty) are well-filled and not overly doughy or gooey, filled with plenty of spinach and even a little broccoli (a nice touch). Came with a nicely-balanced marinara sauce. On my last visit with a friend, we also tried their cheese fries, and a cold sub. Both were well-above-average. The fries were nicely done, topped generously with fresh cheese and a light squiggle of hot sauce. These and the sub both came topped with real bacon (a paid option on the sandwich, but worth it); this was real bacon that was not overcooked, cut up into half-inch pieces that really maximized the flavor. I'd asked for them to toast my sub roll before assembly, and they obliged. Not a superior sub, but really good, also with fresh ingredients. They have hot subs, too, of course. Not a gourmet place, for sure, but you could do a lot worse around here for pizza and subs (believe me, I've tried several others so you don't have to). Fair prices, with quick and efficient service (even when busy); when I reminded a staffer about the sweet peppers for my sub, he dashed back and grabbed a container for me in about 10 seconds flat. And they're typically open an hour later in the evening than most other shops. BONUS: In July 2015, a smoothie shack called "Juicy Green" opened up right next door with an extensive menu, and although I haven't been yet, so far it's getting great reviews on Yelp.

This place is legit. California chicken steak is my favorite. The chicken is solid. Not the ground up flavorless stuff other places serve. Pizza is always a hit with parties too. Great sauce.

I'm torn between the Mediterranean and the Sicilian with garlic as my favorite pizza. The Mediterranean has delicious red sauce dotted among feta, mozzarella, and spinach. It has a great garlic flavor as well. No flavor overwhelmed the other. Delicious! The Sicilian was thick, soft and very tasty!

THE place i go when in town and need to get my stromboli fix. The cheesesteak boil with onions is a clear winner. do yourself a favor and get the large! WIsh it was a little cheaper and the wait wasn't so long.... but worth the wait.

I've been going to this place for over a decade and it never disappoints. A very unassuming place in the middle of suburban Derry St., it houses probably the best slice in Harrisburg. If you are into specialty pizza, they have that here too. IPS has won many awards from the Patriot News that are displayed on their wall. Another item I would recommend is their Spinach Calzone. Its funny, I've been to many pizza places since I went found this place in my mid-twenties but I just keep coming back.

Had an enjoyable dinner there with my wife and baby daughter. Casual atmosphere. We both got slices of Sicilian pizza, which were quite good other than the green peppers on mine looking like they'd come out of a jar. Our Caesar salad was nice and fresh, though. Staff was friendly.

Awesome place! Unfortunately they do not deliver, but the have indoor and outdoor seating and the best food! I have been eating here for years and never had a single issue with my order. They offer just about every possible pizza combination you can think of. Their Buffalo Chicken pizza is to die for! If you are ever in the mood for pizza, but not traditional cheese pizza......Go to IPS they will definitly offer you something perfect for your craving! Daily soup specials and the freshest salads! IPS is the place to go!

If this is one of Harrisburg's best, then I feel sorry for these people. Someone that knows how to make pizza needs to come to their rescue. I should have adjusted my expectations when it took nearly 20 mins to get a pie. No pizza worth a damn should require more than 10 mins to build and bake. It arrived hot, and that's about the best thing I can say about it. It was better than frozen, but not by much. This pizza is best for late night drunks. Maybe it tastes good then.

Had a chicken parm sub which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Pizza did not look to be that great..big emphasis on weird toppings, like a taco pie, etc. Place was busy, service prompt. No bottled soda, just fountain.

A medium chicken parm/taco pizza (or The Fat Kid Delight as I call it) for $13 and change!? Awesome. Any place that does obscure pizza toppings is a favorite of mine.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
