Our experience at 1700 was truly disappointing. Starting with the sommelier trying to serve us wine with cork floating in it, to the driest tiramisu ever...I can't recommend a thing.

I had a delightful, quiet, solo dining experience at 1700 this week. The steak was perfect, as described elsewhere, with friendly service and an appropriate level of attention and interaction for a solo traveler. I really liked the choice of five custom preparations/side pairings for each steak. I felt the price matched the quality of the food and the drinks (including wine flights are good values. The clever digital menu is more than a gimmick at 1700 with the addition of a photo and description for each item at a touch of your finger. And they don't make you order through them!! ( like dining on Amazon.com !) while not an inexpensive place to eat I think great food should be served in visually stunning spaces and 1700 --and it's casual sister restaurant, Ad Lib--don't disappoint. They share an arresting modern-yet-warm "polished industrial" space with accents of raw wood, riveted iron, stone, cowhide and crystal. The vibe is both intimate and lively.

Wonderful experience at the 1700 Steakhouse! Although I decline any type of meat products, the Caesar salad was fresh, cold, and crisp with a nice flavor and salty croutons. I next ordered the pan seared diver scallops, which were the star of my meal without question, clearly fresh, cooked perfectly, and served alongside peppers and popcorn of all things, I found the dish delightful. More than the meal, the bar is a wonderful place to be. Mike, the bartender, was a flurry of bad related ambition the entire time I was there, preparing infusion type cocktails in special porthole glasses and catering to the needs of my fellow consumers, he was a delight to watch and be served by. My Titos dirty Martinis, with hand stuffed blue cheese olives went down smooth and cold, as they should, and the pours were spot on both times, very impressive indeed. I highly recommend you visit if nearby as this is a hotel bar and restaurant above the standard to say the least.

My dinner last week at 1700° Steakhouse was exceptional. It is better to call it an experience than just a restaurant. This wonderful place is a gift to the community. I have been to the Hilton's new restaurants several times since their renovations opened to the public last year, and every time I still find myself captivated by the decor. The style is both warm and trendy, intimate and spacious. I met up with a group of friends at the bar, and we got started with drinks. The cocktail menu is unreal. Check out the In the Rocks, Smoke & Mirrors, and the Best Amaretto Sour. There are a lot more to choose from. There is also a huge wine list with over 1,000 bottles. The dinner menu is extensive and ambitious. You may have a hard time ordering (as I did) because everything looks delicious. When ordering your steak you also get to select from a list of "preparations," which includes a house steak sauce, truffle fried potatoes and veggies. Before your steak is served, the server brings you a box to select your steak knife, each with a beautiful and different decorative handle. The Kobe steak was simply incredible, as was the dry-aged New York strip. We also shared a seafood sampler and flatbread for some appetizers and had a salad course. We had probably over-eaten by the end of dinner, so had to pass on dessert, although the desserts were very tempting (PBBB&J -- check it out). They have a lot about the restaurant on their website: 1700restaurant.com . I look forward to enjoying 1700° Steakhouse for years to come.

Breakfast buffet was plentiful, cut fresh fruit, oatmeal, potatoes, pastries, meats w/omelette station chefs being delightful. Server (Mackenzie) was a no show & had to track down another server who helped us w/coffee n water. Server finally gave us our check w/out a word said. Perhaps some training would be beneficial.

I thought the food here was very, very good, and the drinks were spectacular. However, our service left a lot to be desired. Inattentive and flippant to the point of rude. We waited a very long time for her to appear during dinner. She was frustrated having to restart an ipad menu, just generally annoyed at us for no reason. I suggest some training.

Pretty average place. Nice dining room and it under-delivered based on my expectations. Not crazy about restaurants in hotels but they did a great job designing the space, and the choices are fairly limited in Harrisburg, so gave it a shot. It is expensive and just serviceable. Nothing was great, but everything was good. Service was excellent.

The steaks were the standout here, done to perfection, charred on the outside and perfectly done on the inside. My steak was served with a few waffle fries--which were more like chips and a few pieces of broccoli, which were so salty as to be inedible. The same applied to our Brussels sprouts with bacon--once again, so salty as to be almost inedible. The bottom line? If you're going to charge Philly prices you should learn not to over salt your food. I'm hoping they get more feedback so they can inform the chef that this isn't acceptable. My husband is against mentioning his displeasure at the restaurant because he doesn't like to "make a scene." Often I try to convince him to give the place a second shot, but usually he's the type to just never return. I would like to give this place another try, but will wait to see if others have a better experience. As I said, the steaks were good.

Stunningly mediocre for the perception of reputation...even terrible when price is considered. Service was pleasant but slow. Steak was simply unacceptable....poorly prepared, stringy...would be embarrassed to serve at Outback. Willing to give them a short-term pass due to newness, but this is not a rookie team. Many, many other new places in the area without the new restaurant jitters.

Just don't order the flat iron steak. Mine wasn't properly butchered and couldn't cut through the tendon which should have been removed

Slightly disappointed. The baked oysters needed seasoning. My porterhouse was under seasoned. My date's steak trio came out overcooked. If not for the attentiveness and professionalism of Najib and Scott, the evening would have been a loss.

Pillows on leather seating bench so uncomfortable. Flatbread was a pizza not a flatbread. Totally misnamed. So full we never ordered dinner. It was good but needs renamed. Overpriced entrees for Harrisburg.

Last night I had a phenomenal dinner at 1700 degrees. My husband and I went with a large group (12, with reservation) and our table was served by two individuals which kept everything moving all night. For a starter, I shared the crab flatbread which was so delicious I could have finished it myself. For dinner, I had the 8 oz tenderloin with the 1700 preparation. It was prepared just as I asked, a perfect medium-well. It was the best steak I've ever had, without exaggeration. The sides are a good size for sharing and my husband and I did just that, HIGHLY recommend the truffle broccoli macaroni & cheese. The entrees all came out hot and just as we were finished with the starters, we waited for nothing, something not often encountered with a large group. My water glass was never empty. The wait staff was present but not in your face. Everything was seasoned very well. I really enjoy the tablet menus and being able to see a photo of the meal as I'm making a choice. The decor is spectacular - the Hilton did a great job on the renovations. Even the chef came out to our large group to say hello and ask how the meal was going. Delicious food. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Extra perk - valet parking is FREE if dining in the restaurant! Perfect for the rainy night we encountered.

Everything about this place stands out from any other spot in Harrisburg. First, the drinks. A great selection of specialty drinks from the barrel age master, Jeff. The Agricole Rhum Manhattan and the Not So Old Fashioned are standouts. The selections will continue to flourish thanks to Jeff's creativity. Next, food. Perfect steaks. had the steak sampler, which includes 4 ounces each of the Kobe, CAB Tenderloin and a 21 day aged NY Strip. Did i mention perfect? Oh and there are about a hundred bottled beers, a mad selection of spirits and a wine selection to die for. Finally, the city has hit the jackpot with the bee restaurants in the Hilton.

Hidden gem within the Hilton Hotel. Be sure to make reservation or face 45 minute wait. We were lucky as two spots opened up at the bar and we has dinner with Ashley. Porterhouse, mac & cheese with side of mushrooms. Parking is the worst aspect of this fine dining establishment.

What an overpriced tourist trap. Went with a party of eight from overseas who are used to fine dining. The good news is that they like fatty tenderized meat which they don't get in their country and that the veggies and fruit was fresh, but the bad news is that my wife's single small lamb chop (over $40) had to be returned because half of it was pure fat and when I asked for my 8 oz filet tenderloin to be cooked with no pink, they brough me out a crunchy lump of coal. We are not likely to go back there for dinner. With the outrageous parking fees in Harrisburg, the evening was a complete rip off. Service was fine and wine list was good, but really needs improvement in the meat kitchen. Also so much tenderizer in my meat that I had instant diarrhea after the meal. Danger Will Robinson...danger....

Agree, service by "Peggy" excellent! As good as some of the top restaurants in the country. Got to pick your own steak knife !:) a nice niche service. The black truffle macaroni cheese cheese was surprisingly great. Crab / lobster pizza excellent. Small details, two varieties of butter for bread was unique. Ordered three cuts of steak with diff preps. Close to level of some of the top steak houses in the country but a step down. The 1700 prep was the choice to repeat. Used tablets for ordering. Go for the excellent dining experience with the best steak for the local area. Will def go back. Walked away not thinking about the price....:) until the next moment.

Here on business. Was going to go to Bricco but 1700 opened in the Hilton in December. Okay....it is a top of the line steak house and expect to pay extra for prime cuts. I ordered Baked oysters and 16 oz prime rib eye. Both were fantastic! I choose to have the steak preparation, of which you have 5 to choose from, mushroom onion. Crimini and wild mushrooms with a bernaise sauce. You order from tablets and this is the first time I ordered a medium steak. The tablets have pictures of the temperature you want. I usually order medium rare but the picture showed medium as pink and warm. Spot on! Service was excellent too! Will add this to my favorites and go again.
