Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Hands down best burger place in the whole Pittsburgh area and I've been to a ton of them! Trust me...this place is a hidden gem and well worth any drive!

Holy crap this place is good. The only downside is that it's a little out of the way. I ordered the Hampton Burger and must say its one of the best I ever had. This place may be better than Burgatory! It's the same quality food with a little bit more creativity and no wait. Highly recommended!!

This is my go to place for a great hamburger! We always get the rosemary fries. We also like the barbecue aioli for dipping the fries. I like their mixed drink menu. It has different drinks and they are always good!

I really like this place. We walked in and it was packed. There were 2 or 3 people working and they cleaned us the only table that was left took our orders promptly, gave recommendations, and cooked all the food (other orders included). I was very impressed. The menu was overwhelming at first but after receiving recommendations I made my choice. They had bottles of soda and miscellaneous drinks. The prices seemed a bit high overall but everything was local and organic so I can't really complain. My wife also informed me of a less expensive "build your own" option after we sat down. No difference, I'll be going back. The food came pretty quickly and we all (4 of us) really liked our burgers. I upgraded to the Olive Oil Rosemary Fries. This is the only downside of my experience. I tried my wife's fries and liked them a lot more. They had more flavor and were crispier. I asked them if I could swap for the regular fries and without hesitation they brought me a new order. I must say for a small shop their service was incredible. The new order was great and I didn't leave a crumb. Great burger joint with creative options. They have inspired me to be creative at home. After I mess it up, I'll go back to Burgher's and have it done right. Highly Recommended

Yum. Not the best burger I have had in my life, but way above a typical restaurant burger. Their menu boasts plenty of different burgers, and plenty of different ingredients, etc. to make it just the way you want it. Cooked fresh right in front of you, there will be no sitting under a heat lamp here. The fries are okay, nothing special, but not crappy either. It's a little pricey, no lie. But check it out once at least, because that is one damn fine burger.

I've had hamburgers all over the world. This is by far the best burger I've ever tasted! $9.99 for an organic burger and fries? Local produce? Simply astounding value! This is a must-visit place for me when I'm in the area. Based on some of the not-so-good reviews below, I think I'll have to check out some of the other places mentioned, but for now, this one is by far my favorite. Completely blows 5 Guys out of the water!

Local and organic gourmet burgers, and a large variety of them. Outstanding beef. Good fries. Fast and friendly service. No doubt on the quality and taste of the food. All burgers come with fries. At $8-$12 per meal, it is slightly expensive That's the only thing preventing my 5th start. Great place. Definitely worth checking out.

This is a quaint modern place with a BYOB atmosphere very relaxed and open. Organic meats and veggies from local farms as well! Speaking with the head chef about the burgers, he explained that the meat he was using was most likely mooing no more than a few days ago. He has a great selection of specialty burgers as well as classic and custom ones. All in all I would say this is the perfect escape from certain chains if you need a good burger and something new!

Great Burgers, great original cocktails. In regards to cocktails - a bit overpriced for the atmosphere and location.

This place is pretty great. I've been here twice with my boyfriend and we brought exchange students from Thailand & Denmark with us the second time we went. Everything on their menu is great. My boyfriend and Denmark exchange student really enjoyed the Polish Hill. I had the Jailbird and the Liberty, both of which were wonderful, and our exchange student from Thailand had the Shadyside. She also thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm from the South Hills of Pittsburgh, so this isn't a frequent stop because of the distance, but if you're at the Grove City Outlets and heading back to the 'Burgh this would make an excellent stop on the way back. Unfortunately my phone thought we were 6.5 miles away on the highway so I wasn't able to check in here. =( I definitely recommended it!

Good burgers for Zelienople PA. Very juicy burger with great fresh toppings.

I love you. Best burger in Pittsburgh. Rosemary fries are great, good craft beer list. Don't mind the 45 min drive, the burgers are worth the drive. Perfect size, perfect meat ( well seasoned, good crust, and yes locally sourced, awesome creations). What's not to love.

  • Ben W.

Love this place! It's so much more than the typical new upscale burger joint. Go with the mussels with ramen noodles to start. They actually have a real mixologist that shakes up craft cocktails. Of course the burgers are really good as well. Highly recommend.

Best burger (or should I say "Burgh'er") that I've ever had!! Sooo good, very tasty, slightly crisp on the outside, warm and buttery on the inside - delicious! And the french fries were to die for!!! We'll be back again soon!!

I read that this place had the best burgers around so we drove 15 miles to find this place. It was difficult to find first of all. It is in the middle of a strip mall. It is setup like a Subway. You have to go up to the counter to order your food. The only menu is on the wall like a fast food restaurant without the pictures. It was very confusing on how and what to order. Even with the limited menu. We were kind of shocked that the burgers started at $10.00 and toppings like cheese and bacon were .95 cents each. That did include fries but still, for a Subway like experience, it seemed way overpriced. When our burgers came so did our next disappointment. I couldn't believe I just paid $12.00 for for a bacon cheeseburger that was only 1/4 to 1/3 of a pound patty and a plain normal store bought bun. If I would have known it was going to be that small I would have tried to order a double patty. Who knows how much that would have cost, because that was not on the menu. The burger did taste good, but not any better than what I've made at home with just cheap 80-20 ground meat. They claim every thing is organic and farm raised but I could not tell any difference. If you want a really good burger that will fill you up try The Monroe Hotel in Butler. Order the Monroe Burger. It is 3/4 pound patty that is loaded with all kind of goodies. You will not be disappointed.

Finally got around to adding this place to the list of new burger joints that have popped up over the last couple of years such as BrGr, Burgatory, and Wingharts. I have yet to make it to Wingharts but so far Burgatory is still the clear winner. Like it so often happens, I'd prefer to give 2.5 stars but that is not an option. 3 doesn't seem accurate, but neither does 2. I ordered the Rueben Hot Dog and the Polish Hill Burger. SIde salad with honey vinegarette with one and Mac N Cheese with the other. The Good: Food was tasty, though the burger suffered from a little salt overkill. I don't think I have ever said that about a dish before as I put salt on everything. Still enjoyable though. Honey Vinegarette dressing is made in house and was very tasty. Cheese sauce for Mac N Cheese made in house as well. It was ok. The highlight was probably the hotdog. I enjoyed it or the salad the most. It was slow, but service was friendly, accurate, and prompt. The Bad: I had thought since the side dishes are included here unlike BrGr and Burgatory this was would end up being a better value than the others. But both the hot dog and the burger was about the smallest in terms of portion size I have ever recieved anywhere. Lots of bread, not so much meat. Maybe a 1/3 lb. on the burger if lucky. Just like the other new burger bars, this place highlights it's health consciousness but touting they use local, fresh ingredients whenever possible and I believe I may have even read the beef is grass-fed similar to Burgatory using hormone-free beef. Unfortuantely, just like all the others, they still insist in frying everything in rancid vegtable oil. For a polish boy who grew up sauteeing perogies in butter this is almost blasphemous. The fries are more understandable but I'm still waiting for someone to actually go full-tilt on the food quality thing and go back to using lard, bacon grease, butter, etc for frying.... Not only is it healthier it just flat out tastes better. Final Score: While my meal was enjoyable, it was kind of a 'meh'. Wouldn't go out of my way to return, though admittedly it is a hike from Pittsburgh. If I want a burger it looks like Burgatory is the winner so far. If I want a hot dog I'll do Franktuary.

They use fresh ingrediants. Top quality. It is a bit pricey, but think about all the places you eat at and are not satisfied at the end of the meal, Burghers is GOOD FOOD.

I went to Burgh'ers when they first opened and was pleasantly surprised. I returned a few weeks ago and was disappointed at what I found. The restaurant in the photos is the one I thought I was going to. They must have remodeled since then because the one that's there now had a completely different atmosphere. I thought I'd try the chicken pita and was disappointed in the size to price ratio. They promote local and organic foods but most of their specials were seafood?! Granted, it was during Lent, but I still felt that was odd. While I had been recommending it to friends, that has stopped. I now know why most of the people I've given the recommendation to have told me how disappointed they were with it.

Amazing. The ingredients are top-notch, and it makes a difference. Great beer selection as well. Worth the trip from Pittsburgh.

BEST BURGER EVER - HANDS DOWN. Being a red-blooded american, I love my burgers. My parents have been raving about this place and I was finally able to check it out a couple weeks ago...needless to say it was near life changing. I ordered the Shady Side burger and was seriously in burger heaven. I've had some good burgers over the years, but this was hands-down the absolute best I've ever had. Check this place out - you can't go wrong.

Pretty dead at 12:30 on a week day. The menu looks very good and I went for the polish burger with fries (salad or fries are included). The place was very new, bright, and clean. They didn't ask me how I wanted my burger cooked but it ended up a nice medium rare. The burger and fries were a little to salty for my taste. It was a nice experience but other than local beef and potatoes it wasn't clear from the staff, signage, or menu what was organic or local.

    (3)
  • Steve P.

they have a good burger, but do not order the mac n cheese. Kraft mac N cheese has more flavor. Service needs to improve, we were never asked how our food was and we never got any refills on our drinks.

always a great meal!! toppings, meats, salads,...my Fav burgher joint in the area...better than most in Pittsburgh...if not all...go...now.

I was very pleased that the wait staff went into great detail about how much pink I wanted left in my burger. I felt completely understood and believe my burger was perfect because of it. I'm dining low carb these days and was happy that they had a romaine wrap option listed on the menu. Would give it a 3 for location just because I had to drive from Beaver County. Put one closer.

Service is always lovely. The food: so fresh, delicious, and nutritious! I recommend a Portobello cap burger with wheat bun, caramelized onions, lettuce, and avocado...its to die for! Sides include salad or fries with no up charge. I would absolutely recommend the salad- Greens are always fresh! The bleu cheese dressing is the best I've ever had. There's also a wonderful selection of craft beer to choose from. I will absolutely be back soon!

Finally tried Burgh'ers, love the decor and the concept. Loved the local beers on draft. Tried the jailhouse burger, was good not great loved the chili and ground mustard. My wife had a fried chicken salad, the chicken was awesome. The only problem was a little pricey, I know food prices are high but I think overshot there prices. Will probably limit our appearances.

Burgh'ers is THE place to go for a local burger! The owner and the staff you are sure to remember. They always remember you. I always recommend Burgh'ers to everybody who asks about a good place to go that is near for a burger!

What a great little find on a random night in Harmony thanks to Yelp. I had the Harmony burger and my "date" had the Mexican war burger. She left the green chilies off of hers to reduce the heat but I kept them on the Harmony. Both were outstanding. Also loved the fries. Very nice selection of local and national craft beers as well. If you're in the area you can't go wrong. The wait staff is friendly and just the right amount of attentive as well. We'll be back.

  • Brandon M.

For a couples years now I have been trying to find a burger place that can rival Burghers, and I my search is not going well. This place is to die for! I think by now I have probably had every burger on the menu and each one is better than the next. I would personally recommend the hamptons or the Mexican war (if you like spicy). The service is always prompt, polite, and I always have a great experience. The price is perfect for the quality of food you revive. If you have not yet tried burghers you should ASAP!

Everything was delicious! We got the chili cheese fries and the pittsburger. I have nothing negative to say. The best part is that it's only a ten minute drive from my home. Will be visiting again!

Excellent burger. Probably one of the best I have ever tasted in my life sober. I ate the shady side burger which included caramelized onion with Swiss and mushroom. I also ate some of my brothers Pitt's burger which was also great. O ya they have awesome craft beers!

I had heard about Burgh'ers and how delicious the burgers here were so this past Friday, my boyfriend and I ventured on the thirty minute drive north to partake in the alleged deliciousness. We almost drove right by it as it's in a strip mall-not exactly where you would think a gourmet burger joint would be located. So we went in and it was packed, although it is a very small space so that seems like it must be the case most of the time. We initially put our name in for a table, but we noticed 2 seats at the bar becoming empty so we just decided to sit there for the evening. The bartender was quick and friendly. They had a nice selection of craft beer on draft and I chose a Full Pint White Lightening as did my boyfriend. I noticed in addition to the regular food menu, they had some specials. A camel burger was the wild game burger of the night. They also had a dish containing veal brains. And a pumpkin salted caramel milkshake. We both decided to just stick with regular menu items. I went with the "Hamptons" Burger (smoked gouda, bacon, caramelized onion, BBQ aioli, roasted chilies). I like they give you the option of a side salad or fries. I went with the fries but the side salads looked like they had craisins and blue cheese on them so they were a little above the norm. The fries were very salty but they were pretty good. The burger was the ABSOLUTE BEST burger I have ever eaten in Pittsburgh! The bacon was very thick, the carmelized onions plentiful, the chilies not overpowering. And it was cooked to perfection at a medium temp. It was pretty messy to eat but it was well worth it. My boyfriend went with the familiar-the "Shadyside" Burger (swiss, bacon, caramelized onion, sautéed mushroom, mayo), also with fries. He said it too was the best burger he has eaten in Pittsburgh. The burgers are a little steep at $11.99 each but the quality is very consistent with the price point. They also have a BYO option in addition to other sandwiches, craft hot dogs, and other appetizers. I highly recommend visiting Burgh'ers even though it is 30 minutes away it's well worth the drive up north.

I give this place 17 stars. If you give anything under than 17 stars you my have a mangina. Get the Shadyside burger. It's phemonemnom !!!! Get the rosemary fries and get the mac and cheese. Have yourself a great time. You can thank me later. It's worth the drive from the city or anywhere in the country for that matter.

Best burger in the state. Better than Tessaros, BRGR and Burgatory. Nothing but fresh and local ingredients. I have had every burger on their menu and had no qualms with any of them. My house is two miles up the road. Whether your on a road trip, a local or doing take out this is the place to be. Their daily specials are always exciting and enticing. If you wanna spice your life up get the rosemary fries. If your undecided on a specific burger build your own. This is a great option for the picky eaters. Their beer and spirit menu is good also. My wife is always happy with her mixed drinks since they have a well trained bar keeper. 5/5 hands down. Patio searing is a plus.

Burger perfection. Always changing chef specialties make it always worth popping in to try something new and unique. Rosemary fries are excellent...and I didn't even think I liked rosemary before I stole a couple off my fiancé's plate. I order them every time now. Very crafty craft beer selection. Amazing handcrafted cocktails. It's a "foodies" paradise. Oh, and I had kangaroo meat taco there...'nuff said.

Defiantly one of the best burgers in Pittsburgh! While in the area the girls and I decided to try Burgh'ers. I just have one thing to say....... OUTSTANDING! They are located in Harmony PA (Get off at the Zelienople exit on I-79.) in a small strip mall that can be easily missed as I did. Once I found it and parked we were quickly seated and drink orders taken by Zachary. He was great. They offer craft cocktails, beer, wine, hot dogs, sandwiches and of course burgers. I really like the fact that they use local farmers. While waiting for our burgers I stopped at the bar and talked to the bartender Dee. She was very nice. Before I knew it our food was coming to the table. We all ordered the Shadyside Burger (Swiss cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms and mayo.) We added lettuce, tomato, pickles and bbq aioli as our free toppings. The burger was cooked perfectly and as ordered. It was juicy and served on a nice warm bun. You could really taste the freshness and quality of the meat. All hot dogs, sandwiches and burgers include fries or mixed green salad. You can also upgrade to rosemary fries for $1 more or to mac & cheese or coleslaw for $2 more. My wife and I had the rosemary fries which were really good, but not as good a Burgatory's fries. I also like the fact that the drinks come in bottles so taking them with you is much easier than asking for a to go cup. IMHO, as of right now Burgh'ers is the number one burger in Pittsburgh followed by Burgatory in second.

We decided on burgers and were up for somewhere new. I pulled out the trusty phone and checked my Yelp app...we chose Burgh'ers. Thank you fellow Yelpers for the reviews! We chose well! The service was terrific! The food, oh my! Best burgers we have had in a very, very long time. I got a build your own with a beef burger cooked medium with smoked Gouda and avocado with the rosemary french fries. The Burger was done perfectly! It was juicy and delicious! The hubby got the Morningside with egg and bacon minus the cheese and was a very happy man! We also got a plain hot dog to split..oh yum! It was just fabulous all around! We will most certainly go back!

The Burgers are some of the best I have ever had. The taste of meat and spices is second to none. I prefer a more firm burger that doesn't crumble as easy but it is a minor drawback. I also wish they would provide the option of iceberg lettuce which is my preference and gives some crispness to a burger.

  • Matt S.

Only knock is no veggie burger option, but the portobello cap was delicious. The bartender was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. Gave us lots of info on their beer selection (great options), their food and where and when they get their produce - lots of local farmers. Rosemary fries were great too.

On our visit we ordered a Shadyside & Pittsburg'her - both were very good. The Pittsburgher was just plain amazing. I appreciate that the portion sizes are really what should be "normal" rather than the supersized portions you often get from restaurants now-a-days. Filled me up without that 'hating myself' feeling I often get after going out to eat. Wish I'd noticed they had a ground alpaca burger as the special, I may have been daring and tried it! Service was quick and personable. Nothing above and beyond but better than average for sure. We also got the buttermilk chicken tenders for my daughter, and the portion was enormous! We got more than our money's worth for that. I love that they use grass-fed beef, there's nothing but good things out there about how much better it is for you than grain-fed. Local and organic ingredients are wonderful too. I appreciate that I don't go home and wonder what I just put into my body- or my kids' bodies. A nice little gem in a small town. Cost is beyond reasonable for the quality of ingredients they use. If you think $10 for a burger is pricey and don't care whether your sandwich contains mystery meat or real pasture-raised beef then you should be heading to Burger King to check out the dollar menu 1/10th of a mile up the road.

Excellent mushroom (vegetarian) sandwich (looked like a burger with the bun) with homemade honey mustard, pickles, romaine, and red onions. LOVE the rosemary fries--generous side portion! S.O. said his Hamptons burger was the best he's had in the Burgh!

This is a wonderful place for lunch. Food is much better than you would expect from a strip mall place. Service is great! We drive Z half hour to get here and are happy to do so!

Never disappoints! The Polish Hill on a romaine wrap with rosemary fries is my favorite.

This was our 2nd time to try Burgh'ers restaurant and actually my husband's 3rd because he got a sample burger at Taste of Pittsburgh earlier this year. It was Restaurant Week and we got to sample an appetizer and each got a burger on their price fix deal. We ordered deep fried pierogies over sauerkraut to start. Too dry for our liking & could really have used a dose of hot sauce or some other sauce to liven them up. I ordered the Pittsburgher burger with coleslaw, pickle, basil. onion & sauce. Hubby got the Harmony with horseradish, fresh jalapeños & bbq. Both burgers were dressed nicely but both arrived undercooked. We asked for medium well (assumption being no pink & still juicy) and my husbands was clearly medium & mine was so red in the middle it was ridiculous. I remembered the one my husband had at Taste of Pittsburgh looked like that, too. So much has been written about eating undercooked burger that it's tough to be served something like that and not cringe. I'm really not one to send food back to the kitchen but, in this case I wish I really had done it. I ate around the worst of it and worried if I was going to get sick all night. Luckily I didn't. The toppings on both burgers took over the sandwiches and the patty seemed to recede into the background. The toppings & buns were really good on both, but the burgers didn't shine and they should clearly be the star. They should also have been cooked more.

I just ate the best burger I have ever had at Burgh-ers! Ok, maybe not the best, but pretty damn close. I ordered a "Morningside" burger which is American cheese , bacon, fried egg and mayo. I added cheese sauce to it because my arteries aren't clogged enough. The cheese sauce is unbelievable. Not sure the cheese used but it seems to be a combination of white cheddar and maybe Parmesan cheese. Whatever it is, it's gets poured on top of the burger, American cheese, egg and bacon. Wow! I can't wait to go back. Burgers is not a big place so seating is very limited. Maybe 10-12 tables in the whole place. Small bar too, so they do serve alcohol. I strongly recommend you try Burgh-ers if you are swinging through Butler County/ Zelienople on Rt 19. It's a little hard to find, but worth the trip.

Solid burger in the Pittsburgh area. This restaurant is no-frills but the food is worth the drive from the city. The burgers are inventive, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The only downside would be the location if you live anywhere but North Pittsburgh.

Stopped in for lunch. AMAZING burgers... Definitely on par with North Country in Slippery Rock if not better! Local ingredients which is great. Didn't have the beer but they have 8 local beers on draft. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the wait staff was very welcoming. Will be coming back for more. They should get themselves on the food stop board off 79.

Awesome food, good prices and nice beer selection. I deducted one star due to the small size of the place and it can get a little hectic here. I don't think there is a better burger within 30 miles. Love the fries.

If I'm being perfectly honest, I'll say that I wouldn't have expected a place this good out in Harmony. The ingredients are as locally-sourced and farm-fresh as possible. And they are cooked well! I got a salad and pierogies, which were delicious. The Mr. got a burger and fries, which he is still talking about a week later. The burger was cooked perfectly to his liking, and there were interesting choices for the toppings! For those who don't eat meat, the salads were actually good, and you can get a grilled portobello mushroom in place of the burger patty as well. Oh, and I didn't even mention the beer list yet! Good choices for craft brew, plus a small outdoor seating area make this a great spot for good weather.

I think the food here is ok, but I guess I'm a bit of a burger snob, especially if that burger is gonna cost me $9-10. I like the organic and local thing, but not enough to spend that much for a pretty avarage burger. Because of that I wouldn't go back.

We returned this summer and snagged a seat on their patio. Again the burgers were delish (I had a hotdog as it was the day after national hotdog day) but again the service was awful but this time through no fault of our server. Burghers was busy that evening and on the patio there were 4 groups of 2 people and 2 groups of 4 when we left. We had beaten the rush so our food arrived in a timely manner but the problem arose when the patio filled up and we needed our bill. The young lady who was our server was obviously in the weeds and no one from inside ever came to help her. She greeted and waited on the 4 tables that were seated all at once and finally stopped to check on us. My husband actually just gave her his credit card so that we wouldn't have to wait for her to find our bill. I'm not lying to you or over exaggerating at all when I say it took 27 minutes before he finally went inside to find her and try to settle up. 27 minutes (i started timing it) During that time those 4 tables sat waiting for drinks (she was inside waiting for the bartender to make them I would assume?). We also watched a family of 5 go in, get seated, and then leave before anyone ever even brought them drinks. I don't know what is up with this place, it's tiny, it shouldn't be this complicated! I worked in f&b for 3 years and could have handled sections twice this size with 1/4 of the wait! I think it boils down to three things: 1: poor training, especially for the hostess. Don't seat 4 tables at the same time in the same section unless you are going to assign someone else to help (hey hostess you can help out too!) 2: lack of team work. Noone ever seems to want to help anyone else out here. The staff doesn't help with delivering food or drinks, bussing tables, checking on guests, nothing. Just a quick tip, a customer who receives good service tips more, which then means that the server will tip out more to the hostess, bus boy, bartender, etc. 3: bad management. I've never seen a manager or anyone who is there just to supervise and make sure everything is going smoothly. And it's a total shame because the food is truly fantastic! I adore their burgers but we will just have to resign ourselves to ordering takeout (yup the burgers are that good that we will continue to order food)

Had the ground camel with smoked Gouda, carmelized onion, basil, mushrooms, heirloom tomato and black garlic aioli. Rosemary fries as a side. Awesome meal. My wife had the Animal - burger with a slab of cream cheese and fresh jalepenos. Best burgers in Western Pa. Perfect ratio of meat to toppings and perfectly seasoned.

We both got the Shadyside burger, and I subbed BBQ aioli and added an egg, and we both thought the burgers were great. Cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. Fries were good (both rosemary and regular), but I wouldn't say anything exceptional. Have I had better? Of course, but this is the best we've found in this area. My pineapple drop drink was also awesome and strong. Highly recommend.

I really think too many burger places rely on size and crazy toppings. Like, enough bacon is enough. What good is a burger if the actual patty taste like shit? I love this place, I'm lucky that it's a mile from my house but I'd also travel to go here.

I was happy to see that Burgh'ers was participating in Restauant Week this year and thought it was a good time to give them another shot. The 2 burgers and an appetizer for $20.13 was a good draw plus I had heard that they now served local craft beer. What could be bad about that? The first thing I noticed is that they've moved one space down from their original location and have reoriented things inside and you no longer order at a counter. Now there's table service and our waitress, Tori, was awesome!! Really good. We ordered some Lavery IPA's (from Erie) and fried pierogis as our appetizer. They came with sour cream and sauerkraut and were a little dry for my taste but not bad. I chose the Harmony burger with cheddar, horseradish, fresh jalapeños (kudos on that!), caramelized onions and BBQ aioli. My wife tried the Pittsburgher with cheddar, basil slaw and a special sauce. Both were ordered medium well which is how mine came. Hers was more medium raw which she found unappetizing. The buns are more substantial than previously and held up till the end. However, the burger itself hasn't grown in size (huge disappointment) and is still thin and overwhelmed by everything else. I tried just eating the burger alone and noted that it didn't have a lot of flavor. The sandwich was not bad but nearly all the flavor came from the toppings, not the beef. So it felt like they could have left the patty off and it would have tasted exactly the same. I don't know about you but when I think about great burgers what comes to mind are words like thick, juicy, flavorful. So by that standard, they fall far short. I applaud the support of local ingredients and the selection of local craft beers. But I want more than that. I'm willing to upgrade my initial rating to 2 1/2 stars because of the brews and table service. And because of Tori.

We kept reading great things about this place and knew we had to try it. The first time we went was on a Sunday at lunch time. If you want a burger, don't go at this time. It's Sunday brunch and I only saw one burger on the menu. So we left and decided to try it another day. I'm so glad we did. If you care one bit about what you are putting in your body, you have found a great guiltless pleasure. Their beef is grass fed and they use local and organic ingredients where possible. The end result...a juicy, yummy burger. Now I was treating myself and got the fries with my burger. They are exactly what you want and taste homemade. If you want to be healthier, you get the option of a salad at no additional charge. It's great that they do that. I've heard people say that it's pricey. I disagree. There's the old adage that you get what you pay for. If I pay $10 to get a grass fed beef burger, local produce, and a yummy side, then I say I got a deal. Let's just say that this place was so good that we found ourselves back there just a week later. It's a cute little place with a great burger and nice servers. What more do you want?

My wife and I stopped by Burghers for their brunch yesterday: our second time. It just keeps getting better and better. My wife had the quiche of the day, which was a veggie quiche. She loved it. I had the chicken and waffles: lightly fried white meat topping a cheddar jalapeño waffle. Fantastic! My wife had a pear sangria and I had their special "Brewmosa", which was the Palate Wrecker, with grapefruit infused vodka, and fresh grapefruit pulp. The grapefruit really helped cut through the normally super hoppy beer. We had a great chat with Caleb at the end of our meal, who I assume is the bar manager. He's a fount of all things beer related. A terrific ending to an amazing brunch. I love the Burghers is constantly coming up with innovative food and drink items. And if you haven't checked out their Sunday brunch, I've got to ask: "what are you waiting for?"

Wow. This place is less than 10 miles from my house and I had never even heard of it. Not until Groupon. Strange. We went in on a recent Saturday afternoon when we had time to kill and had really hungry bellies. They weren't very busy. We ordered at the counter, the girl explained that our burger came with fries and we got a salad to share with our Groupon. Yay! Drinks are from a cooler, BJ got a bottle of Joe's tea and I got a can of diet Coke. I picked a Mexican War Street burger and BJ opted for a Forest Hills. My burger had cheese, green chilies, tomato, and two of my favs, avocado and cilantro. BJ's had blue cheese, mushrooms and spring mix. Our burgers weren't thick. But they were huge and hung over the edge of the bun by about an inch and a half. They were seasoned perfectly, and the buns were nice and soft. I can honestly say this was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. And the fries. So delicious. Perfectly cooked. Best fries, too. We will definitely be back. The burgers may be a little pricey for a strip mall at $9.99. But not pricey for what you get. They are worth it!

Had a great dinner here recently: 1. Fried chicken: Boneless chicken breasts, nicely breaded w/ a ?cornmeal? crust. Perfect dipping sauce. Makes me feel like a kid again. 2. Mexican War Burger: Fantastic. Great beef. VERY hot, ?pickled? jalapenos. Got some real heat right there. 3. Killer fries: fresh, crusty, excellent. 4. Amazing drinks: negronis, aviations, etc. Expertly made. Overall, this place is an incredible gem and YOU MUST GO THERE NOW!

Very good, interesting, albeit not large menu. It's slightly more than a typical eat in burger place but it's worth it to me to know you aren't eating hormone injected, pesticide ridden food and supporting local farmers. They have a nice, although smallish, craft beer menu. I've always been able to find something interesting and local on it, which is nice. Good place!

I ate here this past week with my girlfriend for dinner. It was originally recommended to me by a coworker who lauded their burgers and so I ended snapping up a groupon whenever I saw it on their site. The outside of the restaurant is not much as it sits in a strip but the inside is relaxing with many different earthy tones that gives it the feeling of a nice place to hang out at. For dinner we started off our meal with a salad to share with a honey vinaigrette for our dressing.. The greens were decent enough and the vinaigrette was good with its subtle hints of sweet honey combining with the sour vinegar to make for an interesting and different dressing. For our entrees I decided on the Harmony burger cooked medium which came with cheddar, horseradish, caramelized onions, jalapenos and a BBQ aoili while my girlfriend chose the Forrest Hills which came with blue cheese, onions, mushrooms and honey. Apparently they really enjoy their honey here! Both of our burgers also came with a side of fresh cut fries. My burger was cooked perfectly and although I could not detect the aioli or horseradish sauce, I still really enjoyed it with the cheddar giving it good flavor and the jalapenos giving the burger some kick. The fries were extremely good as well as they were cut thin and were crispy with no soggy ones to be found. I actually think that they were the best fries that I have had in quite some time. My girlfriend also gave me a taste of her burger and the one thing that I can remember from it at the moment was the underlying taste of honey which I found interesting. She ended up enjoying it though. While we were at our seats we also overheard the bartender talking about all of the different creations that she was making for the bar. We did not partake in any but I found it interesting to hear the different types of bitters, vodkas and drinks that she had come up with. The bottom line for me is that I will definitely head back here in the future. Their burgers are better than most and by far the best that I have tried as far North of the city. There were also a few menu items which I did not get to try such as the mac and cheese that I will be sure to taste in the future.

Bottom Line at Burgh'ers is that you will not find a better burger in the Pittsburgh Vicinity. The sides are also fantastic. I had the Rosemary Fries I have never eated a better burger in my life. Second. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy. It is a small establishment. It is dim lit, more on the side of a fine restaurant, however it's character is one of nostalgia. While some may put a ceiling on the price of a burger, this place is under-priced for the food grade. Local meat from a local farm is fantastic, and more expensive to use, but you'd never know it. $9.99 for a unprecedented burger and a side? No problem, now when chain restaurants are the same and feed you Sysco garbage. They have a great selection of unique toppings so I recommend playing it safe for your first burger before going exotic. I had the Polish Hill. Winner. Best burger I have ever had in my life. And a kolsch on tap? Whaaaaat?! Nobody does this. The kolsh was alright, I like my own homebrew kolsch better... but then again... i have had few commercial ales that are better than homebrew. 0 I believe.

Local and Organic burgers with some uniquely crafted toppings or build your own burger. What's not to like! The atmosphere is dark with a cement floor and bar, barn wood on the walls. Most of the craft burgers are named after Pittsburgh neighborhoods. I ordered the Mexican War, which has roasted green chillies, avocado, tomato, cheddar cheese and cilantro. Yes, the chillies made it hot, but very tasty. Great flavors. Cooked perfectly. The burger itself was juicy and on a nice warm bun. Definitely had a taste of fresh and quality meat. Opted for the fries over a salad and was not disappointed. Fresh cute fries...delicious....just kept eating the fries even though I was full. Yum! There was a list of specialty cocktails and beers that is on a National Prohibition Act prescription form! In the Creekside Plaza, which is easy to drive by. If you are in Cranberry area or North and looking for a good burger, this is the place.

Let's try this again and see if good ol' Yelp won't let this one stay up. I had been looking forward to trying Burgh'ers for quite a while and finally took the plunge a few Saturdays ago while wife was out of town. I went about 4 in the afternoon so they weren't terribly busy. But apparently the bartender was. I ordered my burger and a mixed drink, and the waitress promptly placed my drink order with the bartender and took my food order to the kitchen. The bartender was in no hurry to start my drink and then a young man comes up to the bar and is immediately greeted by her. After a bit of conversation, she gets him a beer. I think "OK, get his beer out of the way first because my drink will take a bit of construction. I'm ok with that." The she proceeds to stand at the end of the bar where he is at, conversing with him, laughing and giggling with him, then they pull out their smart phones and start googling up stuff, reading and comparing what the're finding!! Absolutely no concern with filling my drink order which she received before the guy came in. And I'm NOT ok with that!!! And this IS NOT just a couple of minutes. This is 6-8 minutes or more. "6-8 minutes" you may think. "So?" Like I said, the place wasn't real busy, and she's making absolutely no effort to tend to anybody else until she's through talking with boy toy (she was middle aged, the best I could tell). And I'm not the only one not getting their drink. It finally came apart when the waitress brought my burger and fries with a glass of water, and embarrassedly made excuses for the bar maid. "Sorry, sweetheart, I watched the whole thing. I've got my food and she is now just getting ready to construct my drink. I've lost my appetite." A shame because I planned on enjoying a few of their expensive drinks in there, And the waitress lost a generous tip due to the bartender's tomfoolery.

My wife and I were tempted to make the drive by the rumors of this awesome local/organic burger joint far in the north hills - it was well worth the drive. Yes, it's in a strip mall, but we thought the inside was charming. Great concrete bar, which we ate on. We talked a lot with the bartender, Dee, who was just awesome both at telling stories and giving great service. As some of the negative reviews mentioned, the burgers aren't huge. To me, that's a selling point. I'll take quality over quantity, especially since these days I like to treat red meat as an occasional special treat. We had the Shadyside and the Mexican War burgers - actually we cut each in half so we could try them both. Both were great, but the Shadyside was the winner. A little bit of bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom and swiss proves to be a killer combo, especially with ingredients this good. The Mexican War's cheddar and green chili combo was potent, and the chilis were HOT (which for us is a good thing). No beers on tap, but they had the whole range of Oskar Blues and Full Pint beers. We enjoyed the hell out of a few Deviant Dales and then made our way back to the city. Will definitely be heading back on a regular basis.

This place is awesome. Not only was the service friendly and fast but the burgers were the best I ever had. They have a full bar and indoor and outdoor seating. They are a little pricey about 10 bucks a burger but it's well well worth it. I have gone there many times and I will continue to go there. Don't forget to try there milkshakes.

Seems like the "gourmet burger" trend has hit the Pittsburgh area in full force. Between BRGR, Burgatory, and Wingharts a battle is being waged to determine who is serving the best burger in town. Strangely enough, the best burger in the area is at Burgh'ers, which isn't even in the Burgh at all! Delicious local and organic beef, fun oddball burger choices, great fries (the rosemary fries are awesome), friendly staff, and now they have beer. What more could you ask for in a burger joint? To me, this place wins the Burgh Burger War hands down. It might be a bit out of the way, but that shouldn't stop you if you want a damn good burger. Check it out.

There aren't better burgers to be had anywhere. Period. Add to that a bar that features innovative cocktails, a wonderfully creative bartender, and an superb collection of beers, and this is easily one of the best restaurants in Western PA. Somehow this gem is buried in Harmony, PA. Don't let the location deter you; it's worth a drive. A word of advice: If you're more familiar with the Burgartory variety restaurants, you may not appreciate Burgh'ers. The burgers are delicious and flavorful, and while it's plenty to fill up the average diner, these aren't the massive patties featured elsewhere. If your primary burger preference is based on size, you won't fully appreciate Burgh'ers.

I was back in the area to visit my mom and she told me.. "oh, you will REALLY like Burgh'ers, all organic burgers!" Man, things are changing out this way, out in the land of farms and silos.. I was sure impressed! ;) It is located in a strip mall off of perry hiway but once inside.. I was pleasantly surprised at the cool designed steel and wood bar with old fashioned fresh juice press. I enjoyed the modern but rustic atmosphere. Definitely has the old prohibition/gastopub feel going on! I was so excited while reading the menu, it was so creative I wanted to try all the creations.. a burger with a perogie called Polish Hill?? hehe! Crazy tasty micobeers from Colorado and beyond in fun tin cans. So first I'll say, I rarely eat burgers as when I even do eat red meat I try to only eat organic! So I am a picky burger lover! I choose the "Forest Hills" A blue cheese burger topped w/sauteed onions, organic mushrooms, spring mix and a touch of wild honey. OMG- It was super juicy and the flavors were married to perfection on a tasty wheat roll! I ordered the side salad w/ vinegar, oil and wild honey house dressing and also splurged for the rosemary fries which did not disappoint! Super tasty! I can't wait to visit the Burgh and Burgh'ers again!

If you want an amazing burger, go to Burgh'ers. They use local ingredients from farms around the Pittsburgh area and you can tell. I had the Polish Hill burger and it was delicious. The fries are really great too. They have craft beers at the bar, but I didn't get one. Filling my stomach with a burger was the priority, so maybe next time. The place is small, so if you want to do dinner, I suggest getting there before the usually dinner rush time, especially if you have more than four or five people. Since it's gotten warmer, they set up a "patio" in front of the restaurant in the parking lot. It looks kind of funny, but it offers up some outside seating with umbrellas and a temporary brick wall enclosure for privacy. Service was awesome too.

My girlfriend and I went there to try something new and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of food. I had the "Mexican War," a Southwestern style Burger that had a robust flavor and texture with Rosemary Fries (the combination works. She had the "Polish Hill," which was topped with two pierogies and was truly delightful. We washed down our meals with two craft brews and was also pleased to see the local theme extended to the bar and the assortment of local brewing companies. My only criticism would be in the size of the "Burgh'er" patty, which could afford a bit more thickness although the toppings do seem to make up for it. The cost wasn't too bad and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a different twist on the Ham-"Burgh'er" and anyone that supports local farmers as everything is organic and farm-raised.

This may be the best burger in Zelienople - I wouldn't know, because this is probably the first time I've ever stopped through. However, I heard claims that this was the best burger in Pittsburgh, and since it was local and organic I was ready to believe the hype, saddle up for the 40 mile trek and put the claims to the test. First off, the place is in a small strip mall across from a larger strip mall containing a Bi-Lo(Just in case you get lost like me), entering there are some tables laid out in a sterile-looking cafeteria in front of a large prep area where you order your food. The setting reminds me of an Uncle Sam's subs, with less character. The chalkboard is full of Pittsburgh-themed(And maybe a few that aren't - ie the Animal -, or at least the reference was lost on me) burgers all suitably topped. The Pittsburgher has cole slaw, the Polish Hill has a pierogi, the Morningside has eggs and bacon. Burgers are $10 each and come with fries or a salad, or you can create your own burger for $8 and add toppings for $1 or less each. They also serve a handful of sides like mac & cheese($6) and rosemary fries ($4). Place an order, they'll bring over your food. I tried the Morningside with rosemary fries while my friend tried the Mexican War Streets(avocado, cilantro, etc) and normal fries. We sat at our table, Boylan's in hand(One of another Yelper's recent reviews had me in a cream soda mood) and watched them prepare our food from afar. The rosemary fries were prepared simply by taking fresh-from-the-fryer fries, tossing them in a bowl with rosemary, squirting them with olive oil and sprinkling them with sea salt. They tasted OK, but they were left covered in whole rosemary leaves - which isn't texturally appealing, and it hung on my breath all day long. The fries themselves - especially my friend's minus the rosemary bomb - are really tasty - on the thinner side and fried very crispy for the most part. On to the star, though, why I drove out - the best burgers in Pittsburgh. Sad to say, it didn't live up to the hype for this reviewer. Don't get me wrong, it was a good burger, but I felt the burger itself was on the smaller side and that toppings ultimately overpowered the flavor I was hoping to get from organic grassfed beef. My friend gave similar complaints, and wound up picking off a lot of his toppings so he could taste it better. I would definitely give it one more shot if I found myself in the area again - maybe it was an off day. So sorry if I'm being a little harsh on this place, but if it is going to be claimed that this is the best burger in all of Pittsburgh, forcing me to drive a modest 40 miles away - 20 times the distance of places like Tessaro's, Burgatory, and Wingharts - I was more than disappointed to find just an above average burger here.

Burger? What burger? I'm sure the beef was delicious, unfortunately it was SO thin (think fast food thin) that I couldn't taste it under all of the toppings. They don't have fountain drinks either which means no refills. Since I wasn't about to buy another $4 bottle of pop, I left dying of thirst (and an empty wallet!). Not worth it.

My wife and I have eaten here twice. She gets the Liberty and I have gotten the Mexican War. Both were fantastic. Just the perfect amount of burger and bun combo. If you like really thick patties, this place will make you think twice about them. Will definitely return again!
