If I could have given this restaurant zero stars, I would have. I live a stones throw away, but had never eaten there before. Recently we got a menu in the mail. At first glance I thought it was quaint, not a lot of options, but enough for a place to eat right around the corner. I wasn't at all impressed with the prices, but I figured the portion size would warrant the higher prices. Living so close, we decided to have take out from here tonight. Both my husband and I were interested in trying the tortellini Alfredo with shrimp (19 bucks a piece)and we also ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer (10 bucks) Our meals came to 48 dollars, which I would expect to pay for some fantastic Italian food. My husband got there a few minutes early so I know our food had not been waiting for us, to effect the quality. We started with the calamari. First of all, I have to comment on the presentation. Why they would have chosen to serve a hot, fried appetizer on a bed of shredded lettuce is beyond me. The shredded lettuce made the fried calamari soggy and ruined that. Now we move on to the taste. It was lack luster at best. I related it to chewing on fried rubber bands. An absolutely terrible representation of my most beloved food. Now we move to the main course. They provided bread, which ironically is the most redeeming part of this meal. It was good, but I would never pay 48 dollars for two pieces of good bread. The Alfredo sauce wasn't even a sauce. I've seen water with a better consistency than this. It was like a runny slightly cheesy soup. The tortellini was over cooked and the shrimp may have been fresh, but had no flavor whatsoever. The portion sizes were pathetic. The only reason I had any left over is because I couldn't rationalize putting it in my mouth anymore. I was really looking forward to a little "hole in the wall" Italian place and all I got from it was the "hole". I would not go back there if they paid me to.

Only eaten here twice and the food was pretty good. I do remember the service being a little lacking and they had a long line up for pick up orders. I would not avoid Brazzo, though I would not go out of my way to eat there again.

My family often orders take-out from Brazzo. I don't know why. Must be because it's the closest of the myriad pizza joints in Harleysville. The take-out orders usually consist of pizza, stromboli, steaks, hoagies, etc. For the most part, the food is unexciting. I find the pizza and stromboli to be pretty bland, and the stromboli are often soggy and simply packed with whatever crappy, bland mozzarella they use, while skimping on other ingredients that might actually add flavor. I love getting white pizzas when they reek of garlic, but here I think they just whisk up some ricotta and oil and spread it on, as the white pizza was pretty flavorless. Beyond the lack of distinguished food we've gotten, my experience with their take-out service has been absolutely terrible every single time. Not once have I been able to walk in when they tell me my order will be ready, get my food, pay, and leave. It's always a 15 minute ordeal for them to search and find out what my order was, then discover it isn't ready yet, then to cycle the food retrieval duties around. I then stand around for a good 10 minutes as they usually forget that I am waiting for food. Even when we call 90 minutes ahead of time and say we'd like to pick it up at X:XX, it still results in a wait. The only reason I'm not giving Brazzo 1 star is because we did eat in the restaurant one time and had a pleasant experience, and the food was very good. So if you want to eat authentic Italian dishes (ie veal florentine, chicken marsala, eggplant parmigiana) in a restaurant, Brazzo may be a decent choice. But if you're looking for a good take-out joint, there are about 7 others in the area I'd recommend before Brazzo.

I picked Brazzo to enjoy a birthday dinner with my family. When I had to change the date of the reservation and then call back and change the number of guests, the owner could not have been more accommodating. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the table was ready and in a location where we were out of the way of fellow diners. We enjoyed the privacy. We started with the Margarita pizzas right out of the brick oven, which got great reviews from my guests, and then ordered entrees. I ordered the veal parmesan which was extremely tender and one of the best I've had in awhile. All the guests enjoyed their selections and our server was extremely attentive making sure we had what we needed, despite being a large party with lots of individual requests. All of the food came out exactly as ordered (considering we are a picky group of people), and the food was hot and served all at once. I was glad I chose Brazzo for my birthday dinner, and my guests really enjoyed the experience. Thanks for everything!

Penne Abruzzo is still available but with whatever pasta of the day they have. Still very good. Today as we left my husband bout a pastry assortment. It's really just NOT good at all. I tried to privately email but the website ONLY offers to like it or share it. No interaction. Not a wise choice so don't spend your money on take home desserts. It's was $5.00 but going in the trash. Very disappointing. I think it is pastry a they but & bring in. Yuck

Really excellent. Eaten here for years. BYOB The owner is an actual chef, not just a pizza maker. Daily creative and delicious specials, just wish he would make his Riboletta soup more often.

I had been to Brazzo a handful of times previously and enjoyed it, but it had been several years. I went with some friends recently and was disappointed. They have expanded into the store next door to their location, and that is nice. However, we were surprised to see that the menus we were given were one sheet of paper printed on both sides, oil-stained and dog-eared. It was kind of tacky and gross. I had hoped for meat-free and asked about the eggplant parmesan. The waitress helpfully told me that their eggplant is "thick cut, with the skin on." So far, that was fine. However, she also added that it is not breaded, and that many customers are taken aback when they receive this well-known dish prepared in this unorthodox way. It didn't sound good to me either, and I have to wonder why the chef/owner would continue to prepare a dish in a way that so many patrons are disappointed in. The menu really needs to have more meat-free dishes. I wound up ordering the farfalle sole de mare, which is a seafood dish. It was just all right - nothing to get excited about. Our entrees took an inordinately long time to arrive. We were given one halved slice of Italian bread apiece, and our $14 to $18 entrees did not come with a salad, unlike many Italian restaurants' practice. I don't feel we received good value for our money. I'll go back if my dining companions insist upon it, but I would not choose Brazzo again if it were my choice alone. It's really a shame, because I recall having some very nice meals in the past.

If you're looking for some straight up personal sized wood-fired pizza that somehow maintains it's crunchy crust and melty cheese essence without coagulation, order a Margharita from Brazzo. Sweet, pasty and rife with every so acidic tomato chunks, the red sauces is quintessential, vertiable Italian fodder. Topped with chunks of Mozzaralla and a sprinkling of basil, this easily rivals its big-city counterparts.

I don't know what is going on at Brazzo, but it is not good. Brazzo has been our go to restaurant for years. We've celebrated birthdays, graduations, business ventures and had casual nights out there with friends. The food was always excellent and consistent and the service was great. Unfortunately our last two experiences there have been less than stellar. The first was when we ordered take-out. We were givnen a pickup time and when we arrived we were told the kitchen was backed up and our order wasn't ready. We had to wait another 30 minutes for a total of an hour and 15 minutes before our food was ready. And something about the taste of the food was off, it wasn't as tasty as usual. We chalked it up to a bad night for the cook and forgot about it. When it came time to celebrate my husband's birthday, we decided on Brazzo-like I said-our go to restaurant. We arrived around 7:15 on a Saturday night and were told there was a 40 minute wait for a talbe. We were rather confused since the dining room was approximately 80-85% empty. The hostess informed us that the kitchen was backed up due to take out orders. There were several people waiting to pick up their orders, one of which was waiting over an hour. We had my elderly mother-in-law with us and we were all standing in the doorway- the patrons waiting for pickup and the 5 people in our party. We had to move out of the way everytime someone else entered the resaturant as the space was tight for the number of people waiting. I approached the hostess and asked since there were so many empty tables, would we be able to sit, My mother-in-law was uncomfortable standing and we had brought a bottle of wine with us. I thought we could wait at a table instead of waiting in the dorrway, open our wine, let my mother-in-law sit and be a little more comfortable. We were told by the hostess that she was not allowed to seat us. The only reason she could give me was that if she sat us before the appropriate time, she would get yelled at. I asked her if she realized that that made absolutley no sense, We were there for dinner and just wanted to sit and wait instead of waiting in the doorway. Nope, not allowed. The patrons waiting for pickup hed heard what had transpired and were just as confused. Waiting in the doorway a little longer just gave us more time to complain with other people waiting about how poor the customer service has gotten over the past couple of weeks. We finally got seated and the waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food on the other hand was really disappointing again. My risotto was under seasoned and my daughter's tilapia was mushy. I also don't like that they bring a mini loaf of bread to the table instead of slices. The bread is round and about the size of a kaiser roll It's really unsanitary for evenyone to be handling the bread, ripping pieces off. And it is also difficult to cut. We have been going there for years and the consistently good food is what has been keeping us coming back. Well, Brazzo, that is two strikes. One more and you are out.

Usually whenever I'm somewhere that has pizza on the menu, I order that. Except for at Brazzo, a BYO tucked away in a small suburban shopping center. Don't let the location throw you - this place is really great. My sister lives near here, and we go every few months. I LOVE the penne alla rosa, which consists of sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil, a splash of white wine, cream, butter and a dash of marinara sauce blended together into a pink sauce topped with fresh mozzarella. I love it so much that I could eat it every day and not get sick of it. On a recent visit, I found the bread brought out before the meal to be not as fresh as it usually is. My sister said she knows it's baked on site, but we both thought it tasted like it had been frozen and dethawed. So, one star off for that. Also, our food (mine, my sisters and brother-in-law's) came out fast, like in less than 10 minutes. I didn't really like that, because on a Saturday night it's nice to linger and talk as you wait. But the food is great, so I'm not really complaining. The owner/chef likes to walk around and chat with his customers, which is nice. He is the reason why the food is so consistently good -- he's always in the kitchen. Four yummy stars for Brazzo. I wish you were in Philly.

Brazzo is a calm, unassuming Italian BYO in the bustling metropolis of Harleysville, Pennsylvania. It is a quiet, friendly place that is excellent for catching a reasonably priced lunch. The penne alla rosa and lasagna are good lunch choices. If you get them, you won't cry yourself to sleep out of disappointment.

I would give this place a very solid 3.5 stars, but Yelp doesn't allow half-star ratings. So I am going to go a little higher here, and here is the reason. I was out with a friend, we both had our kids with us (five kids under 10). After a trip to the bowling alley, we both wanted to take them somewhere to eat, but were adamant to not take them to a fast food place. We checked the reviews on Brazzo and were surprised to find a lot of negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, we did not order anything particularly complicated. I had a white flatbread pizza, my friend had a pepperoni one, but they were both quite tasty. The kids had typical kids fare but it was all served hot and they wolfed it down, so I think they approve. It is BYO, which is always an extra plus in my book. I found the dining room to be really clean and attractive, good lighting, visible kitchen that looked clean and organized. Very good for people with kids, clean, good food. Local. All solid in my book.

So bad. We arrived to a nearly-empty, kind-of-smelly dining room, but for some reason had to wait a bit to be seated. OK, fine, whatever. I will say that they did a fine job dropping my kid's chicken fingers into the fryer, they were fine. The real food, however, was problematic. Based on appearance alone I had no desire to taste my husband's lasagna. He said that the bottom was cold. . I ordered the eggplant parm, advertised as "thick sliced." It was a smallish eggplant, cut crosswise, brown and squishy, with some cheese on top. Just bitter and gross. The waitress asked how it was; I was honest. A replacement was offered (no thanks because ew) so I just ate a $14 cup of pasta with OK marinara. It wasn't taken off the bill, I paid anyway, should have made a stink about it but was not in the mood. There is another, incredible restaurant in the same strip mall. We came to Brazzo because there was 20min wait to get in, it was late and we had small kids in tow. Never again. There are 1000 better options for Italian in the area. Now we know, and now you know, too.

Went on Friday Night, specials were deliciously described, but did not taste as good. We asked for no dairy is possible and the waitress told us what to order, well it had butter and chess in the saffron rosseto , and they added butter to the salmon. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS NICE WITH THE BRICK OVEN. I may go back for pizza, but not dinner.

Stopped in on Valentine's Day after a Google search for restaurants in the area. This place did not disappoint when it came to the food, but it was an extremely lengthy process from the beginning to the end. When our party of four arrived we were told it would be about an 30 minute wait, no problem it was Valentines Day. Moreover, when we were seated and the orders were placed it took an hour before the food came out, and a little over an hour for my plate to come as I was left waiting and telling my group to go ahead and eat so their food wouldn't get cold. The waitress was apologetic for my wait, and I definitely wouldn't mind dinning here again if they can get time management under control.

I was completely unimpressed, we just moved to the area and were looking forward to trying this place. The wait staff were very attentive however the food was not good at all. It started with stale bread, my husband ordered the Tuna special and mid way through found it was raw. The waitress took it back to be re-cooked and it came out too dry. I ordered the Penne ala Vodka and the prosciutto was sliced like lunch meat...not very good. We tried the tiramisu and did not finish it, not very good. I would not recommend this place, don't waste your money.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Great food at a reasonable price. Will come back again nice waiters that make you feel at home. They just expanded made it a huge dining room.
