This is our favorite restaurant for breakfast in Hanover~ have been coming here weekly for close to 20 years. Food is consistently good; staff is consistently friendly; you won't go away hungry. We feel the prices are fair for the amount of quality food you receive.

Dutch country is a staple of Hanover, PA! It's as well known as Utz potato chips if you grew up here! Some of the same waitresses here since I was knee high. Friendly atmosphere with some home style prepared food. You can get a pretty descent broiled crab cake here too!

My favorite breakfast restaurant in the area! I travel 1/2 hour once a month to indulge in amazing pumpkin pancakes (complete with maple syrup, whipped cream and pecans). Pies are fabulous too (coconut cream is best I've ever had.) I love the variety and numerous choices on the menu. I am vegetarian and my family are carnivores and all of us always walk away full and happy!

Every time I'm in beautiful Hanover I come here for breakfast! Great folksy, homey attitude the waitstaff is fantastic and the food is delicious. Great omelette alternatives, even for a guy like myself with egg yolk allergies, the food is fantastic. Need to stay here long enough one day to try it for dinner!

There is a huge menu here. Most of us opted for breakfast items. The redskin potatoes could be a bit crispier and the sausage gravy was primarily cream w/no seasoning. But, they give you huge portions and the food is good but not outstanding

A friend and I went to out to Dutch Country for breakfast this past Sunday. It was the first time I have been here in a few years, even though I have been going to Dutch Country for as long as I can remember. I even worked at the place about 13 years ago while I was in high school. It still looks exactly the same as it did back then. This is the place you go when you want that home cooked kind of food. The food reminds me of stuff that my grandma and my dad used to make. We got there during the post-church breakfast rush around 10:30. It was busy but we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes before we got a table. I ordered the JR's Special, which is 3 slices of toast and a nice-sized portion of redskin potatoes smothered in some awesome chipped beef gravy. It was so good, and only cost $5.55. With a drink my meal came to $8.00. The food at here is all reasonably priced, especially the breakfasts. When strawberries are in season my favorite thing is the waffle sundae topped with fresh berries. I used to get one every year on my birthday.

One of my frequent offers at the place. They are so punctual and timely deliver their thing. Must ordered here and want to discover their hidden thing of great service. Cost is reasonable.Wonderful food Breakfast.

Best breakfast in town! Prompt courteous staff serving up home cooked meals that are simply delicious! Sometimes there's a wait, but it always moves fast.

Hands down the best diner in the area. Good lunch and dinner during the week. Great for breakfast on the weekends! Friendly, competent staff, and consistent food makes this place one of my regular spots. Homemade everything (except French fries...the one thing I wish they would change). The place is pretty big, and even if there is a wait, it doesn't usually take them long to get you in.

Best breakfast in town hands down. I've lived in the area my whole life and this place is impressive. You get quality food and real potatoes with your breakfast which are the best I've ever had. Food is 10 out of 10

We stopped in for an early dinner. The menu was huge and the atmosphere very homey and friendly. A classic diner type operation. Food was tasty and good sized portions. Not gourmet, but definitely good home style fare. We would return and we recommend Dutch Country to anyone who is really hungry.

Just went for a Sunday breakfast....but we will be back for lunch and dinner soon. It was very busy and the seating process seemed rather frazzled. But we got seated after about a 10 min wait. We were seated in the back room it was rather noisy and had the feel of a church basement that was sparsely decorated in a 70's vibe. The menu is massive and has plenty of unique items. The lovely settled for cream chipped beef one of her favorites...the portion was massive. It came on a platter not a plate. She informed me is was fantastic. (I do not like it so I didn't sample a fork full). I had what they call Hash Brown Redskin Potatoes $4.95... redskin potatoes mixed with crumbled bacon, diced onion, diced tomato, mushrooms then topped with shredded melted cheddar cheese. It too was a massive portion. I also had a side of smoked sausage. They were awesome...and the bacon...well it was more like 4 strips broken in a few pieces. We were lucky they didn't have to roll us out of there. They also have great sweet tea...real brewed not that BIB crap. This place is worth the trip...and if you are visiting Gettysburg...you need to make this a dining option. Even though they were very busy the service was prompt and pleasant.

Dutch Country has been a great local restaurant as long as I can remember. Dutch Country is the local place to go. The menu is huge, the service is great, the prices are good and the food is delicious. My kind of place. Cream of Crab soup, served only on Fridays, is the best I have ever had.

At first when you walk in, you sort of wonder how you landed there. Its small and has a diner feel to it. But don't get me wrong, it had charm! The menu is huge! Lots to choose from. Our waitress was Laura and she was very nice and attentive with us and everyone she was servicing. I had the top round with stuffing. YUM! My dad had irish stew. Said it was the best he had in a long time! Also had crab dip for an appetizer and that was great! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who's in Hanover.

Overview: This place has the absolute best breakfast! Food: I'll be honest and admit that I have never ordered anything but breakfast from Dutch Country, because it is just that good. The portions are large, the prices extremely reasonable, and the food is really tasty. Recommend: I highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes. They come with candied pecans on top and whipped cream :)! Yum!!!! Also, any of the desserts! Atmosphere: Super quaint indoor, with booths and tables. It's always been clean and well-maintained. Service: The staff are attentive and very friendly. My coffee cup has never dipped below half!

1st time at this restaurant for breakfast. Service very slow! Waitess taking other customers orders before ours. Busboy took our drink orders. Waitress Didn't check on table until we were done. Scrapple not cooked. Sent back. Potatoes cold. Omelet had undercooked too large pieces of bacon in it. Biscuits for chipped beef gravy hard. Bathroom not very clean. Hopefully better next time!!!

I honestly do not understand how this place is constantly packed every day of the week. The menu is huge, which usually indicates that the food won't be that great. I'm not at all picky when I come into places like this. A family owned restaurant/diner is one of my favorite places to eat. Our waitress was not at all friendly. The food took FOREVER (we went for breakfast). When we finally got it, the chipped beef was bland and had a glue-y consistency. Husband said his food was also just kind of "meh". Not sure if they have better lunch and dinner, but we probably won't be back to see.

Yum! Its been years since I've been here and it hasn't changed much. The prices are more but thats to be expected. The food still taste like grandma home cooking. The wait time wasn't to bad even for a Sunday around brunch time, maybe 15 minutes tops. I ordered the Sherry's special (eggs, french toast, potatoes, bacon and toast) Its a lot to eat for just one person. I ended up taking the bacon home. All in all there breakfast blows Perkins breakfast out of the water.

Hot Stickies=WIN They taste like the love child of pecan pie and a cinnamon roll. The waffles are made on "Texas Toast" which I thought was only available back home
