I stopped in here on my back to Buffalo, NY from Springfield, NJ. I wanted to eat a real meal on the road, not just fast food. I was a little worried that there wouldn't be many vegetarian options, but was pretty happy for find that they had several salads and sides that were vegetarian. I had a salad and my travel companion had chicken fingers. Overall, the meal was good, the waitress was lovely and the homemade pie was amazing! I would definitely stop back should I ever passed through the area again.

Amazing cheeseburgers! The prices are cheap and the waitresses are friendly. I've never had a bad meal here.

Just about half mile off the highway exit (right at the bottom and left at the light (almost straight through and your there). Not much from the outside and a sign on the highway would probably increase traffic 500% - It was a little afternoon on a Saturday and there were only a couple tables full and was a little worried. Had the "big burger" stated as a half pound burger. Nice size, but I actually thought it would have been a little bigger, but the only thing close to a 'knock' - Hand made almost crumbled patty cooked to perfection. Nice flavor and a good meat to bun ratio. Fries were FANTASIC! Crispy and like a beer battered texture. I don't normally eat more than 25% of my fries at most places and I had every last one here. GF had the the Chicken and biscuits and loved them. I had a try and must say they were pretty good. Gravy was pretty good to dip my fries in too. There is an ice-cream/yogurt shop attached that is closed in the winter but looks cute.

This place has never changed! Some would call it "dated" but I think the decor is charming and old fashioned. The food was delicious and the waitress was friendly and helpful. I really am tempted to eat every meal up here because there was so much on the menu that I really want to try. I love Dobbs. It's adorable and fantastic. :-)

i rediscovered this place on mother's day after going to dinner with my mom, grandma, and sister. i say "rediscovered" because apparently we used to go here all the time when i was really young, but i don't remember that at all, but at least my sister has fond memories of it. i've been back for a few meals and overall i like the food here but it could stand a few improvements. when we went on mother's day everyone else enjoyed their meals. i ordered the ribs and i knew not to expect slow smoked BBQ, but even still, these were a bit sub par. the meat was tough and the sauce was generic. the coleslaw and fries served with it were great though! i've had their slaw and fries with some other meals and i really do like them both. as for other dinner items, i've had the chicken and biscuits and a jumbo burger. the chicken and gravy were good but the biscuits were a bit dry and not very flavorful, but the chicken and biscuits were still a solid meal. i got mashed potatoes with em and they were ok but definitely needed butter. i went with the jumbo bacon cheeseburger and it was ok, but next time i think i'll step down from the jumbo. i don't like medium or under burgers, so when it comes to big patties they tend to dry out before they get cooked to my preferred doneness. the meat had good flavor though, and the cheese actually cut through in the mix, a lot of time it gets lost. the bacon did however got lost, they just put 2 strips on there against a half pound of beef. i also had a very good slice of Cherry pie here too, so definitely try the desserts! i did have a very enjoyable breakfast here too. the pancakes were very good, and if you order a side of bacon they give you a good portion of it. the scrambled eggs were ok but i like them fluffier than what i was served here. the home fries were also good, and unique too. they slice them up like thick cut potato chips and cook them until they are tender. i love the ambiance of this place, it definitely has that cozy country kitchen feel. there's a nice brick fireplace with wood walls and the service is good too. their waitresses definitely have that classic diner waitress vibe. all in all, i'd give this place a 3.5, the meal will be hit or miss depending on what you order. being from binghamton, this place probably isn't worth going out of the way for, but if i lived within 10 minutes of the place i would probably be here a few times a month. if you're in the area, give it a try.

Such a clean, quiet, friendly place. I have a delicious French Dip (that came with awesome Fries), my wife had Eggplant Rollatini that she loved. Definitely a good Yelp! find.

Stopped here on my way back home to Long Island from camping near Binghamton. Breakfast was mediocre and all of the sides were a la carte. I asked for bacon instead of ham in my western omelette and they charged me for the bacon! Also, every diner I've ever been to serves home fries with any breakfast, not as an add on. In short, rip-off.

Immaculate like-home restaurant with cooking as good if not better than Mom's. The best liver and onions I have ever had & the chicken français was trés delicieux! Skip the fast food junk garbage and rest up and eat WELL here. Not fast, cooked to order, so if you are in a hurry go somewhere else, but worth every minute of the wait, otherwise. A+

Driving through the northeastern US, friends and I crossed the border of New York into Pennsylvania. We were ravenous for lunch and wanted something fast (we were also running low on gas!) - so we took the first exit we crossed, into Hallstead. Dobb's Country Kitchen is a medium-sized family restaurant furnished with an old-fashioned iron stove, diner counters, and flower pots. There's ample seating for a large group. Owners and managers George and Trudy Eddleston do a great job keeping Dobb's comfortable and inviting. Service is friendly and the din of other diners' conversations filled the air. Many patrons appeared to be locals (in their late 60's) or truckers passing through. Dobb's continental menu is full of the usual suspects: salads, sandwiches, and onion rings to more substantial fare like jumbo hamburgers, steak, and prime rib. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger - it was inexpensive and had a juicy beef patty and with a side of the best coleslaw I've ever tasted in a long time - a Cadallac of coleslaws! Delicious combination: Dobb's low-cost grilled cheese sandwich is tasty and pleasantly unhealthy. The bread is toasted until it's crunchy: If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite (and a high-calorie fix), stop in!

We had a disappointing experience at Dobb's last week. We stopped in for lunch on Sunday when we were on our way through. They had very few vegetarian options and the service was not very good (not friendly, didn't bring place settings and napkins without being reminded, didn't offer a children's menu until we pestered them for it, etc). The food was ok but nothing to be excited about.

Many people come over the border to Great Bend and Hallstead for smoke shops, for other amenities, but mainly to enter the pristine Endless Mountains region. Dobb's welcomes all - right off I-81 - with locals, hunters, fishers and casual travelers alike enjoying their meals. Senior menu, regional specials, attentive staff and fresh baked goods being their strong points.

We stop every time we are in the area. Nice place, reasonable prices. Better than a fast food joint.

The decor hasn't changed in at least 30 years! Crabcake dinner is AWESOME - the sauce is fantastic. Worth a drive from the triple cities if you love crabcakes.
