If you remember anything from this review, let it be "white truffle oiled oven roasted cauliflower". And if you have extra room in your noggin, add "sauteed forest mushrooms". I don't even like mushrooms but these beauts were served with scallions, basil and roasted shallots. Soooooooo good! My sister made a meal of it. Headkeeper is a tapas bar located in a side-of-the-road building that could easily be driven by 100X before realizing it's a creative and cozy bar/restaurant. When we visit family in Pennsylvania we often find ourselves at the the same places, Rizzo's, Gio's, Olive Garden, etc. So, it was with great excitement that I was able to convince my family to mix it up (Thank you Yelp "nearby" button). It was a happening Saturday night with a cool crowd at the bar and all of the tables filled. I could easily see myself grabbing drinks at this bar on the regular if I were a local. I mean, really, who could resist the green glow of the coolers lining the wall with a vast beer selection? Our order selection - which ended up being a very wise one included: -goat cheese and butternut squash dip served with pretzels and fried pita (the pretzels were the better of the two - the pita was too greasy for my liking) -Jamaican Jerk grouper served with a lobster butter and roasted red peppers - I'm allergic to fish but it looked delicious. If my father ordered it again, he would have asked to have the butter on the side. A wee bit on the heavy side. All in all, The Headkeeper was a delightful surprise. Maybe next time I'll slide into a spot at the bar.

Come hungry!!! This place has incredible food and all the types of beer you can think of. I true place to go and hangout and enjoy yourself!!
(4)Roman N.
Amazing beer selection, good food and great patio out back! The tapas and drafts are a bit pricey, but very delicious. Get the crab cakes and salad, and in my opinion, steer clear of the calamari (unless you like sweet sauce). Definitely coming back!
(4)Ren N.
Expensive but the portions are slightly larger than average. Had calamari, best dish ever!
(4)Joshua L.
I simply cannot say enough about The Headkeeper, so I'll keep it short. Service, food, beverage selection all top notch. One of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of visiting! Keep up the great experience!!
(5)Jason S.
Food is waaaayyyy better than the decorum would suggest. There isnt much seating inside and isnt very well done, however, the foos more than makes up for it. Beer selection is amazing! I literally drooled in front of the coolers for awhile. The outdoor patio us wonderful during the warm months.
(4)Anna W.
Absolutely delicious food. The cauliflower is awesome as well as the pizza, calamari and bean dip. Great and varied beer selection. I had a pumpkin ale with a sugar and cinnamon rimmed glass, nice touch. The wait staff handled a large party of us expertly. Next Pittsburgh trip we will definitely be back.

I can only review for the beer.I have never ate here, but, I hear the food is good. The beer is average, I have had most of them. Their selection is quite large for the area. Price is a complete RIP OFF $21.50 for a mix six pack?????? I would not buy a six pack here, heed my advice........ OK, I stopped back. When I sat at the bar, I was asked if I wanted a beer from their cooler or on tap. I chose on tap. The beer was mildly carbonated, it was ok. I was never offered a food menu. After looking at the grill, I don't think I would eat here either. A lot of complaining from the staff about staying late. I noticed at least 8 employees standing around. Doing much of nothing. In my opinion, this place is completely overrated.

Good location. Good service. Great atmosphere. Nice patio area. Chorizo and beans dip and Toothpicks are delicious. Great selection of beers. Best place in Greensburg so far.
(4)David G.
Just left. Tooth picks, Mahi and filet. Along with the tastiest food in greensburg is just watching an when it's early an a bit slow you can pick the chefs brain. The chefs cook to perfection and the various sauces set the dishes above and beyond. The new (for me) bacon sauce is absolutely fabulous on the filet. I watched these guys cook for an hour and a half. One important thing I noticed was after touching a protein they washed their hands before touching anything else. Wonder if that happens behind other restaurants kitchen doors. This is great food done right. Can't recommend it enough. You can thank me after you try it. Forgot the deconstructed cheese cake. Good but fresh berries on top would make it better.

What a nice find in Greensburg before heading to the Civic Center for a play. Thanks, fellow Yelpers, because had I been simply driving by there is no way I would have stopped here. The outside by itself does not lead you inside on its own. However, once inside, it has a nice funky feel. They have 2 levels. On the ground floor is the bar and a handful of dining tables decked out with tablecloths (nice touch). Upstairs has dining also and, per their website, is good for groups. Their website also indicates they have a patio so in better weather I hope to be back for that experience. The menu has many selections of tapas to share. We ordered four and received five (one by mistake, but, oh what a nice mistake and we kept it). All the plates we ordered were within the $9 to $14 range with each having enough to share between the two of us. Here is a run-down of our dishes: Oven Roasted Asparagus Bundles $9 -- Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with balsamic vinegar -- Excellent! Pan Seared Ahi Tuna $14 -- This was the only fail. They were simply awful and unedible. However, our server was kind enough to take off 1/2 the price. Fair enough. Four Cheese And Porcini Mushroom Sacchetti $13 -- These were pasta pockets and nice and creamy -- Excellent! Sautéed Shrimp $13 -- In a pesto sauce -- Excellent! Sautéed Forest Mushrooms $11 -- Excellent! We both had glasses of wine and were happy with our selections. Our server, Brittany, was warm, welcoming, and pleasant. Definitely will come back!

I got to Greensburg to start medical school just a couple days ago, so I don't know anything about western Pennsylvania yet, but Headkeeper is already a new favorite place! It seems nice inside, and the patio is great. The server we had was very nice and had helpful recommendations. They have a huge variety of beer on tap, but the important part drink-wise is the bottled beer-- over 600 available! You go to the fridge, pick out one for yourself, and the server opens it and adds it to your tab. It's a fun way to try new beers, and you could easily come up with a beer pairing menu for yourself. If you want food with your beer, you're also in the right place. We had: --coconut curry mussels: these were some of the best mussels I've ever had. Fantastic sauce. --"chicken toothpicks": these were all right. Tortillas wrapped around chicken and smoked gouda, flash-fried and topped with barbecue chipotle sauce. The chicken part was just fine, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce. --lobster pizza: this was delicious-- big chunks of lobster, chopped tomato and greens and a fabulous white sauce. --beef wellington egg rolls: odd but great-- yummy beef welington filling stuffed into an egg roll wrapper and deep fried, with a gravy-like dipping sauce. Finding great small plates and beer in a small town was such a lovely surprise. And as a bonus, it's pretty reasonably priced-- the tapas are between $10-$15 for a very good portion size, and all of the beers we tried were under $6. I'll be a regular if I can, and if you find yourself in Greensburg I'd definitely recommend a visit!

I can't say enough good about this place ! The food is exquisite !!! We shared the balsamic veggies and the coconut shrimp! Plenty for two with a few drinks on the patio. Good choice in music with a lovely ambience. I can't wait to go back when the pumpkin drinks have arrived ! Thanks again for a great visit !
(5)Sheila C.
Great beer, great food. I always love to see what their seasonal pizza will be. The service is always good, friendly and fast. It's a great place to hang out casually or go for a more special occasion.
(5)Matt B.
The menu is small, but the food was delicious. We had the potatoes and broccoli raviolis. The selection of beer was tremendous. I had never heard of half the beers there. The outdoor bartender was kind enough to let us sample a beer before buying.
(4)Emily A.
I love Headkeeper mostly because they put the Moscow Mules back on the map! But I also love the atmosphere, outdoor seating, and great beer selection. I still have not eaten there, but hope to sometime this summer. It does not get 5 starts because sometimes they seem to be understaffed. They get VERY busy when the weather is nice and it can take a while to get a drink. I am excited to see that they are fixing up their parking lot!
(4)Amy S.
Filet was not of good quality, pink and rubbery like that disgusting filet at Walmart. Scallops were not thoroughly cooked. Calamari was fantastic! Chicken pot pie egg rolls were not anything to discuss. Portions are way too small for the price. We had a table of eight and just the food portion was $30 per person and we all left hungry....and we are not considered big eaters.
(3)Britney C.
Great selection of beers. All of them were in the fridge so whenever decided to pink one it would be cold already. Not as cold as i like them to be but OK. The outdoor dining area is pretty nice. I love how open it is with fire burning lamps to keep you warm during those chilly nights. We thought about sitting outside but it was rather crowded and noisy so we went indoors. The noise level was no better inside but it's mostly a bar atmosphere so there's no way around that. The menu had a lot of good options to choose from. All higher end ingredients and some rare combinations. It took me a while to choose seeing that i love seafood but my hubby doesn't like it that much and that I was trying to find something for us to share. The food is all served tapa style and we were informed that it was enough for four people to share. We ordered bruschetta, crab cakes and my hubby got the grouper. Anyhow, the fish that he order was about the size of a tilapia which one person could eat to themselves. The bruschetta was decent. 4 slices neatly stacked log cabin style and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette, very pretty. They were tasty but nothing special. I had 2 crab cakes that were supposed to come with salsa but there was nothing on it so they were very dry. I had to order extra and it turned out the salsa was just a bunch of diced tomatoes in marinade. They didn't taste that great to me. After trying 3 of their tapas i wondered how servings meant for four barely filled us up. I had to order another Tapa because we had yet to be satisfied. We visited this place after viewing a show a the palace theater so I was looking forward to more of a restaurant style portions instead of just samples. Our fourth tapa was calamari which i really enjoyed. it had a sweet and spicy sauce on it but the crust was a little soggy as if it had been sitting a while. I still enjoyed it though after basically starving from the prior servings. The calamari was the only dish that actually tasted amazing and was big enough to feed 2 or more people. Other than the beer selection and outdoor seating i didn't much like this place. Upscale prices but the waitresses dress like college kids bumming it to class. I had to hunt down my waitress to get the extra salsa and the beer was more expensive than back in pittsburgh. $60 for noise, over priced appetizers and college kids, i don't think ill return.
(3)Heather A.
Too busy eating to take any pictures. This place was great! Food was delicious, beer selection is vast, and the wait service was so friendly and fast!! Wish they would open a branch in our neighborhood.
(4)Puneet M.
Great beer! The food Is good, i wish they had more selections. A little small inside, but best time to go is in the summer, but then again, it useally is super packed.
(4)Roswell Einstein M.
I really have to say this place was a pleasant surprise! We had the lobster pizza, grilled veggies (which are one of my favorite foods) and crab cake. The food was extremely good. The beer selection was terrific. The outdoor seating was a bonus! Neat place and well worth a stop.
(5)C K.
Great selection of beers & menu offerings. Generous portions & great for sharing among two or three people. An excellent discovery outside of Pittsburgh.
(4)RM S.
The Headkeeper might be the #1 spot for my wife and I for a number of reasons. From the food perspective, it is on point, creative, and executed seamlessly. Between the two of us, we will typically order 5 things off the menu and share each item (one always being a seasonal salad). We aren't huge people but have good appetites, so keep that in mind when ordering. One menu item will not fill a person up unless they are a bird. Another reason they are #1 in our book is the bar, drink selection, and bartenders. The variety is awesome and is displayed nicely so people can really check a beer out while considering it instead of just reading a long list on a menu. The bartenders are all great! They all have a lot of beer knowledge and can make solid recommendations if you feel unsure about what to try and they will ask what you typically drink to give an even better recommendation more geared towards your tastes. Headkeeper in the spring/summer is also one of the best places to be. The patio scene is really a great place to be when the weather is nice. Tip: you typically won't get seated on the patio if you are only having drinks, so order something small and cheap to eat and then you'll have no problems getting seating outside.
(4)Caddy W.
We are locals and love this place. They have a great beer selection, we love the variety of small plates. In the summer the outside patio is a very nice place to have a beer and great food with family or friends.
(4)Nick F.
Cool place to get good beer in Greensburg. I was really surprised when my brother took me here so see what an extensive selection of beers that they have. A lot of European and micro brews in bottles as well as on tap. No a Miller, Cores, or Bud in sight :-) The bartender new a lot about her beers too and was able to make good recommendations. You could tell she liked her job and was not just there to pour the beers for people. If I would live in the area I would definitly go back for more!
(4)Jill B.
Love, love, loved! Visited while on a road trip to see family and so glad we did. The bar tender came to my table to discuss a specialty cocktail and what she delivered I didn't even know I wanted but it was perfection! Then the food arrived and I was even more impressed. The portions were extremely generous, fresh and flavorful. Only wish we lived closer so we could go back more often.
(5)Michelle R.
Amazing food and service! Wait staff was on point, helpful with selections and above all, HAPPY! Insane beer selection. Definitely did not expect to find such a wonderful place in Greensburg!!!
(4)Seema S.
This place is right down the street from where I live and is amazing!! The food is fantastic and the beer selection is out of this world! I recommend their calamari and pizza (AMAZING). It's a little pricey but despite that...I'm still returning. The waitress who helped us was really friendly and since there weren't many people inside...everyone was chatting with us (which was also nice).
(5)Tammy S.
I am not a beer drinker so my review is on the food. I had the Head keepers Toothpicks- pricey but very good, the sour cream was supposed to be adobe seasoned....I think they forgot the Adobe seasoning though. The grilled vegetables were excellent! Don't order a salad. It is way over priced for what you get and the dressing selection is limited. My husband had the chicken beasts; again way over priced for two beasts and a few green beans. He said the chicken was dry. We opted for dessert. .the brownie w ice cream, which was excellent. I feel the yelp $$ price guide is a incorrect for even though each plate is under $15 you are buying a la carte, so if you price it by seat, even sharing the vegetable plate, you can expect a three course meal to cost about $20 -25 per meal. I am more than willing to pay a good price for good food but the over all meal was over priced. Lastly the plates were brought out one at time except the salad so I had my order before my husband. Our meal ( no alcoholic beverages) for 2 with 1dessert $56 before tip. The service was only average.

Had no idea what to expect traveling from out of town. From the outside on a cold December night, I was a little concerned, but as soon as I walked inside and saw the massive green lit wall of beers, I knew we wouldn't have a problem. Staff was friendly but laid back and gave us time to relax and enjoy the meal. The meal. My gosh. Heaven. Brie with apple Cinnamon Compote, the Butternut Squash and Goat Cheese Dip, and the Headkeeper Toothpicks. Literally, everything was delicious. Come with a group, or by yourself, but come freakin' hungry. I will go out of my way to eat here when I am back in town.
(5)Sally S.
Im from Philadelphia and every time I come to western Pennsylvania to see my boyfriend we ALWAYS come to Headkeeper! Its my favorite place to eat out that way! The food is amazing! I love the presentation and most importantly the taste. I always try something new every time I go. Thus far, the flavors in the dishes are well balanced and insightful. The food is also cooked as perfect as it could be; shrimp, scallops, filet mignon wonderful! The calamari is my favorite appetizer. I love the sweet thai sauce they toss it in, it really makes it unique! Also, the beer selection is awesome! I really love trying new food and beer here, incredible!
(5)Matthew G.
This was my first visit, but first impressions count. The place had two positives and one negative. 600 beers is amazing! Can't complain about that selection. The second is that the staff was very pleasant and good to chat with. The negative is that the food was not so great. I tried two dishes and a dessert. With a tapas place, I expect flavor packed in a small dish. The two dishes (toothpicks and asparagus) were fairly weak, and the creme brûlée was like something you make from an instant creme brûlée box from the grocery store. Great beer selection can't lift a restaurant above three stars.
(3)Ebony L.
I LOVE this place. Amazing selection of beers, every lambic you can imagine, plus everything else under the sun. The food is also very good. Last time we had the seared ahi and eggplant on flat bread, both were great.
(5)Judson W.
I am from the Washington DC area so it feels a little strange to say one of my favorite places to eat and drink is in Greensburg, PA. But it truly is! The Headkeeper would be a very unique place no matter where it was located. The main draw to this bar/restaurant is the beer selection. They offer a "glowing green wall of beer" that must have over one hundred different beers to choose from, from all over the world. You simply go over to the wall, choose your bottle, and get your bartender/waiter to open it for you. While the beer is a huge draw, the food is simply fantastic! It's all tapas style - so expect small plates that come to your table quickly. I would recommend the cauliflower, mushrooms, and "Headkeeper Toothpicks". Delicious! Visiting The Headkeeper will always be a tradition when I go skiing at Seven Springs at least once a year. A true hidden gem - check it out!
(4)Beth V.
I'm not even a beer drinker and this place surprised me, in a good way! Hip, Casual dining indoor and outdoor and very clean. Good service too. If you are going to eat out in this town I defiantly suggest it be at this restaurant.
(5)Jim N.
Great beer selection and unique tapas plates.
(5)Johnny C.
3.0 - ahi tuna 3.5 - calamari: fresh, tasty sauce, cucumber compliments it well 3.5 - filet mignon: excellent sauce with chunks of sea salt, good cut but could be more tender 4.0 - Lamb: perfectly juicy and tender medium rare, great light sauce 2.0 - Saranac shandy: very sweet lemonade, but good aftertaste 2.0 - decor: don't be fooled by the bar decor, the food is awesome. 3.5 - service
(5)Amber B.
This place is a favorite, especially in the summer. The food is good and they have a huge selection of beer and other drinks. There isn't much inside seating but they have a great big patio and it's an awesome way to spend a warm summer evening.
(5)Bethany M.
Good selection on bottled beers. Could get more variety on tap.
(4)Paul N.
Had the five spice pork and the rosemary potatoes ... delicious. Service was fast and the bartender gave me a great food recommendation. Lots of craft beers in their numerous cooler doors. Not big on atmosphere but who cares when everything else is so good!
(4)Adrianne B.
I was very surprised with the quality of food at Headkeeper. I assumed that the food was going to be your typical bar type food...burgers, chicken fingers, fries - but I was proven wrong. The menu was tapas style and the food was very tasty. We each had 2 tapas each and it was plenty of food. The beer selection of beer was larger than I have ever seen anywhere else... I would definitely recommend Headkeeper. I only gave it 3 stars because the atmosphere outside is far better than the inside so I would only think about going back here when the weather is nice.
(3)Scott P.
Portions skimpy. Not for kids. Good for beer variety lovers.
(2)Rich C.
I am originally from the area, and I came back to check out this place once more. I remember when it used to be a little shack and I would buy beer there. I had went one time a few years ago since they remolded and loved the beer selection. I arrived with my not so culinarily "what the hell is tapas" parents, and my girlfriend. The beer selection was impeccable. I could stare into those coolers forever (FOREVERRRRRR). I had a few delicious belgians that I cannot recall the brewer of (I guess they were pretty good, huh). My father tried some of the local breweries, such as All saints. We all found libations to suit us. The food, as stated, was tapas style, but the portions were adequate to share amongst four people. Everything was generally between 10-15 dollars a plate. We ordered 6 plates, but probably could have been satisfied at 4. The lamb shank is out of this world good, and comes with a brown mustard seed glaze. I could eat plates and plates of this. The portabello with crab meat and topped in a basil pesto cream sauce rates about the same. The toothpicks had a delicious balance of flavor and smokiness. The eggrolls were essentially a shepards pie in a fried shell. Pretty decent. The chicken cordon bleu pizza was very unique and quite tasty. Lastly, the cheese dip was a great snack as well. Everything was perfect. A gem in Greensburg.
(5)Anne R.
Yowza! The beer selection is off the charts in here! If you're a beer nerd, you'll be quite content here indeed. They have a large selection of regularly rotating micro brews on tap (both local and international). And generally, that's good enough. But they also have a whole wall of refrigerators filled with bottles from all over the world. The selection is really incredible. Additionally, you can buy bottles individually or create a mixed 6-pack. It's a little pricy, but that's how much these beers cost. You're not being over charged here. So enough about beer. Two other points: 1) The patio/outdoor bar is a fabulous little oasis in the middle of a generally unpleasant street/intersection. The landscaping creates a great buffer between you and the traffic, so it's really quite pleasant. 2) The food is tapas and their aren't many healthy vegetarian options. Most of the food is pretty heavy, but it's very good. Overall, this has become my favorite happy hour spot in Greensburg.
(4)Laura D.
I can't vouch for the food, because I've never had it, but the beer and overall environment is great! Awesome beer selection, knowledgeable and fun bartenders, and a really relaxed vibe to the place. I went on a Saturday night, and the noise level was pretty quiet compared to other places. I was definitely able to have a conversation with the person next to me, even though the bar was playing music. Also, MEGA BONUS POINTS for it being non-smoking. This is one of the only non-smoking bars I have been to in Greensburg, and it's so great to be able to go home not smelling like I rolled in the world's biggest ashtray (I'm looking at you, Scooby's!).
(5)Mike S.
Looks like a dive on the outside, but cool industrial feel to the interior. Good food and and fantastic selection of 500 beers.
(4)Tony J.
I have always wanted to expirience a Tapas resturant, and I was very very satisfied with my family expirience at The Headkeeper. We came here thinking we were going to have a few plates and enjoy a night together. Well, we wound up ordered about ten differenent plates and even some duplicates; it was that good. First off, our waiter was a cool dude. He gave us many suggestions because we have never been to a Tapas resturant, and he told us what the whole Tapas expirience was about. All of the servers here were very helpful. Now I am not old enough to buy drinks when I go out, but I will tell you right now I will be excited to come here once I turn 21. The entire wall is just lined with a countless number of different beers. The selection was unreal. I made sure I made up for my lack of alcohol by eating more food. Plate 1: We got the Mango BBQ Pork tostado with the sweet potato fries sprikled ontop of it. This was everyones favorite dish. This thing was like a thin BBQ pork pizza. It was so phenomenal that we actually got two of them. Plate 2: Cauliflower drizzeled with white truffel. Yeah we got two of these; they were that good. Seriously amazing. I dont know how they cooked these bad boys but it was the best cauilflower i have ever had. Plate 3: Basalmic marinated vegetable. Wow I did not know veggies could taste so good. There was zuccheni, squash, onions, peppers, and probably some others that I didnt notice as I stuffed them into my mouth. Plate 4: Flash fried calamari was next on the menu. My only complaint about this plate was the fact it was gone in about 5 spoonfuls. It was also great. The chili sauce it was prepared in was sooo very tasteful. Plate 5: Stone oven pizza. damn this plate was good. Once again we would up ordering two of these bad boys. I would suggest you to get this just to make sure you actually get enough food from your meal. This was probably our most hearty plate of the night. Once again, very good and I would suggest ordering it. Plate 6: Balsamic portabella mushroom cap with crab meat. This plate was my mother's favorite, and I have to agree this plate was AWESOME. The basil sauce it was served with was great, and it defiantly completed the plate. Plate 7: Black tiger shrimp. This plate, just like all the other, was delicious. Not only was the shrimp great, but the veggies and extras that were with it were also all devoured. Once again, another great plate. Plate 8: Pan Seared Tuna. Ohhhh myyyy this was a great selection. Perfectly seared, and the seaweed salad it was served with was one of the best seaweed salads I have ever had. Plate 9: Pan Seared Salmon was one of my favorite dishes. The reason why was the sauce and the little potato cake it was served upon. Oh my did I mention the sauce it was served on? Goat cheese,?! Hollyyyy crap it was great, and that potato cake was amazing. Plate 10: We were completely filled up when a server walked by with a plate that looked great. It turned out to be The Headkeeper "toothpicks". They were chicken and pepper wraps with BBQ sauce. Geezzz this was another great plate. Probably wasn't my favorite dish, but it was defiantly worth trying if you like fried chicken wraps. I know it was probably overkill talking about each individual plate and describing how great each was, but I think the food was that good that it deserved the review. I would defiantly suggest this place if you are in the area, but if you are trying to be full at the end of the meal, make sure you bring some moolah.

I only had drinks here and a little bit of someone's appetizer...so this will be brief. This place is a two-level bar/ restaurant with a huge outdoor fenced in patio. Atmosphere - Gravel, cinder block, modern, black, grey, narrow yet spacious, large bottled beer selection. Service - Inside the service was quick...outside the girls in black t-shirts and jeans were a little slow in coming by. We felt like we waited more than drank. Food/ Drinks - The app was decent...crab dip and multicolor corn chips. The drink...cap -n- diet coke was acceptable. I should have opted for a beer, as their selection here is huge! Price -Sheez...I do not remember...but it did not standout as pricey Outdoors - The patio is the highlight of this place...at least for me, as it made for an enjoyable place to relax in the evening/ night and take in some great conversation w/ friends. Overall - Now that other places in the area have closed, The Headkeeper is an excellent place to hang out with some good friends and unwind.
(3)Mark Z.
I love The Headkeeper. The beer selection is simply amazing. My friend and I tried a German smoked beer and it was delicious. The food here is also amazing.
(5)Sherri T.
Wonderful tapas and fun experience. Only downfall is that if you are on the patio it is along the road and the noise can be loud at times. The beer selection is second to none! Over 600 beers to choose from all around the world.
(4)I.E. C.
Wow... amazingly underwhelmed by this place. However the beer selection is pretty good considering it's in Greensburg. And that's the only reason they have 2 stars instead of 1. We first ordered two Belgian style beers, and yes they gave us oranges with them.... Nonetheless, my partner bit into the orange and spit it out and I tried mine before I put it in my beer. They were both rotten!!! I couldn't believe it. Not a great way to start off a meal... Next, we had the calamari, the asparagus wrapped prosciutto and the pan seared ahi tuna. The calamari was cooked well. However, there was way too much breading, and their sweet chili sauce saturated it, almost making it like a soup. I could only eat a few bites of it as it was just too sweet. When I bit into the asparagus wrapped prosciutto I thought it was great! However, upon my second bite, I realized you could hardly cut the asparagus and it was tough and seemed dried out. It just wasn't very good :( The pan seared ahi tuna was definitely good, but nothing fantastic. They served it with more of their sweet chili sauce, which they decided not to overdo it to the tuna, thankfully. It also came with a very small bit of seaweed salad, which was good. Additionally, our waitress here was very unenthusiastic and extremely slow in getting to us for everything. One waitress even came over and asked if we had been waited on yet as we sat for 15-20 min for our drinks. (remember the ones with the old nasty oranges?) However, I will say that the other waitresses seemed to be more attentive. So I can't knock them too much for having just one bad one. (every place seems to have one). Nevertheless, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place, but they do have a decent beer selection.

The Headkeeper is my favorite restaurant! I hate to use ultimate superlatives but I have not been anywhere that is better than The Headkeeper. It has great food and beer at a reasonable price in a casual environment. There are 7-8 glass door coolers that house about 600 of the best beers from the US and around the world. You make your own selection at your own pace. There is no intimidating or overly descriptive beer menu other than the coolers. It is tough to pick out a single beer out of the impressive selection. I recommend bringing a beer review book such as "The Beer Guide" edited by Josh Oakes to help with your selection. The food at The Headkeeper is paradoxical. Its adventurous but familiar. Its refined but casual. Its tapas but well portioned. This is the kind of food I love to eat and cook for myself. I had the lamb with habanero raspberry sauce, grilled prosciutto wrapped asparagus, calamari, roasted cauliflower, crabmeat stuffed portabello, and the bruschetta. Everything was fantastic, especially the calamari and lamb. The calamari had a thick, crispy coating and a sweet and spicy chili dressing. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the flavors were bold. The interior is a mix of industrial and post-college. There are large spaces with exposed air ducts and black railings. The stainless steel kitchen is on display behind the bar. There are framed prints such as "Senator Blutasky", "Name that Movie Line", and "ACME Catalog" (think Wiley Coyote). Some of the walls are covered with a wallpaper bearing beer labels from across the globe. The staff here is very friendly and professional. They know a lot about the food and beer they serve and happily answer questions. I was really happy when I asked for a beer recommendation and I was shown a beer that wasn't too expensive. I hate when staff only recommends the most expensive item on the menu. I was fortunate to meet the owner Ray. I felt like he and I had the exact same ideas for what we like in a restaurant. I loved his vision and hope he continues to operate a fantastic restaurant for years to come. I can't wait to go back to Greensburg to go to The Headkeeper again. I wish they would franchise this concept and bring a location to Ithaca!

I popped a beer boner when I walked into this place. The ethereal glow of the vessels holding 400+ different beers was like a temple to the god of beer. The food is good, but the beer is top notch. This might be the best selection I have ever seen. I don't even think BevMo has this many beers. Tip: when you find a beer you want, you just take it back to your table and the waitress will open and pour it for you. If you want to take it home, it's $1 cheaper.

This was our first time here. Service was fast and friendly. Everything we had was delicious. I recommend the butternut squash ravioli. The bottled beer selection is vast.

This restaurant is labeled as a Tapas bar with an impressive selection of beer. All the tapas are good sized portions and the beer selection is the best I've seen even when compared to restaurants that specialize in beers in major cities. From German to Japanese beers, the restaurant has around 500 bottled beers so you're sure to find something that you like. The service is good and staff is super friendly. It's hard to find good food and beer in Greensburg PA so this restaurant is definitely a big hit. I have already been back several time and will continue to come back on a regular basis.

Huge fan.. loved this place. As usual gonna start with the " bad" The exterior is awful, a bit scary. And for that reason we almost( thank goodness just almost) did not enter. End of bad:) Inside is super cool looking. Downstairs is open with exposed duct work. One wall is all beer coolers and the other is the bar with the grill so you can watch them cook. A neat comcept. The menu is tapas style and the potions are huge. I ordered the butternut squash and goat cheese dip with fresh baked pretzel and cinnamon toast crispies... Delish!!. Hubby had the calamari. It was very fresh and the breadcrumbs were light and amaziningly flavorful. The cucumber salad/garnish on top was so yummy I could have eaten a plate of that. I ordered a orangicle creme brulee to go and am excited to sample it. Hubby was super impressed with the beer selection, the prices were decent for the food quality. If we return to Greensburgh I will surly eat here again!

Very impressive selection of beer of a bar in Greensburg. I remember the tapa's being better a few years ago and the food is a little pricey. This place can get busy and a wait should be expected if you feel like eating there. Show up early!

This place was great. They had so many good brews available. The staff really knew what they were doing too. This was a really enjoyable place to sit down and have a drink. The food was top notch as well!!!

Awesome tapas! I like it even better than Ibiza in South Side! The outside patio is great too in the summers! What gets better than a wall of beer coolers where you can pick out ALMOST every brew you can imagine! Somewhat kid friendly too. I have taken our 4 yr old there during early dinner hours and its okay..later it seems to get more of a bar vibe.

A wall, well over 20 feet long, of beer. What more needs to be said? Headkeeper is definitely the coolest place in Greensburg (and maybe the ONLY cool place, ever since they took Mr. Toad's from us.) The atmosphere is good, they have a ton of outdoor seating, and they have hundreds and hundreds of microbrews for your drinking pleasure. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. There is one particular guy who's a little bit of a tool, but 80% of the time he's nice, too. Foodwise, I don't have a whole lot of experience, but the things I have tried there have always been tasty. One thing that really sticks out is their scallops: I have a general distaste for shellfish, but their scallops are excellent. The texture is perfect, and the flavor is fantastic. This is a good place to hang out if you're in Greensburg. It gets really busy on weekends, though.

First time today. One of the best places in greensburg for a drink and meal. For greensburg it's hip and trendy but relax atmosphere .

The food was excellent. The service pretty marginal. I get that this place is doing well because Greensburg doesn't have any other places quite like it but having had a mediocre experience there myself I tend to pass on The Headkeeper.

Great food, great atmosphere, great beer selection. Bar staff is very knowledgeable and the food was absolutely amazing. Would eat here every day for the rest of my life

Great place to drink. Atmosphere and beer selection is top notch. Building is great. Definitely a gem of a bar tucked away in the GBG!

Don't be intimidated by the concrete block exterior. Nor by the industrial interior. Their Tapas selection is awesome. We only tried three of them and loved them all. They are really better than Tapas; more like small portions of wonderful entrees. Their wines by the glass are OK. The beer selection is huge. The service is very knowledgeable and caring.

One of the better restaurants around! A little pricey, but good food! Loved the chopsticks!

Awesome gem in a town with 5 million pizza restaurants. I tried 4 different dishes and had the bartender give me a beer of his choosing. Everything was awesome, including the beer. I highly recommend this place!

The Headkeeper is a great place to have a drink or two. The bartenders make excellent mixed drinks and if you establish yourself as a regular, certain bartenders will develop a heavy hand. The beer wall is a beautiful sight and my favorites are always in stock. Good beer on tap as well. There is a wonderful outdoor seating area with tables that can fit up to 12 people or more. Occasionally The Headkeeper will have live music. The menu is always changing and they use the freshest ingredients. I knocked off one star because from my experience, certain chefs tend to use too much salt. It hasn't happened every time, but so much so that I don't really feel comfortable ordering food anymore. However, I have no problem sneaking a bite or three off a friend's plate.

Great place for drinks and small plates, food and service are excellent

The selection of beer alone is worth coming here. If you can't find something you like with 600+ choices then you must not really like beer that much anyhow! We sat out on the patio. The food was really good. I had the Ahi Tuna Tacos and they were great but also tried the Creole Bay Dusted Shrimp and the Andouille Stuffed Pablano Peppers and they both were pretty tasty. The service was just okay. My food came out much later than the rest of my dinner party and not sure why? It was a little pricey with all of us ordering at least two different micro brewed beers but I love beer so I was fine with that. It's wonderful having great places like this to go to in Greensburg instead of having to drive in to Pittsburgh for a similar experience.

While the food is on the more expensive side for Greensburg, it's well worth it. The portion are an appropriate size, not the inflated "American" portions. The food is cooked in the main bar area, which lends the atmosphere an aromatic aura. The beer selection is one of the absolute best in the area and is always changing. (This can be both good and bad as I had gone back more than once for a beer only to not find it in the coolers.) The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the product and are always able to provide a recommendation or alternative. The bar has a real bonus for warm weather drinking with a huge patio and outdoor bar, in addition to the main downstairs bar seating and a small nearly private upstairs bar and seating. The Headkeeper is quickly becoming a favorite bar in Greensburg.

Best place to eat and drink in Greensburg. Love it. I have been here dozens of times and always have a new interesting beer and something delicious from the menu. I wish they would be open for lunch at least on Fridays. I commute to Greensburg for work and don't get to stay after work and get here as often as I would like.

Addicting. The beer selection is second to none, they put the Buds and Millers out of sight because they don't belong here. It's fun to try all the different beers and the bartenders are knowledgeable about them too. The food is tapas portions but its about quality here, not quantity. The main cooking area is behind the bar and its addicting to watch them cook. Plus you know they are being safe and the area is clean!

Wow! So I went back to PA for a special event, and I ended up running into a cousin I had not seen for more than a decade. Being much savvier than me about what western PA has to offer, she suggested we meet here to catch up. Great choice, great find! There are literally hundreds of beers to choose from making the selection better than most bars in New York and D.C. It's like the Brickskeller of PA. There were quite a number of microbrews, and even some Belgian beers I had not seen offered anywhere else before. They even had Dogfish Head beers -- wow! This place is worth making the trek too. Unbelievable find, highly recommend.

Tapas is small town USA!! The Headkeeper is a bar, don;t let anyone fool you but it is a great place for pan seared scallops and Ahi Tuna Tacos! You pick it beers (I did not partake) bring it to your table and the barmaid will open it for you (PA thing or to ensure proper billing??) I counted 6 TV's and a large outdoor "beer garten" I enjoyed it and the food was a 4 out of 5. The service however was p*ss poor. Refills were 20-30 minutes on flippin' Iced tea! 20 minutes to run our tab. I am a purist so food is more important. thats why the 4 out 5

I enjoy the casual college-to-middle-age mix crowd, the tapas menu is fun and tasty and the beer collection along the entire wall is incomparable. Can't go wrong here - it's a fun place earlier in the evening even to bring my 90 yr old parents who like to see the "action." When the weather is nice - outdoor seating...

Marooned on business in the bustling metropolis of New Stanton PA (READ: More like a truck stop), it was imperative to go find a good restaurant for dinner. Following the 20+ min drive, our initial Greensberg destination (The Stop) turned out to be closed, so a quick Yelp Mobile search led us to The Headkeeper. The calamari plate was quite possibly the best I have ever had! And the crab cake did not disappoint either. The summer evening ambiance on the patio was very pleasant, and the servers were friendly. If you're stuck in rural PA near anywhere near Greensberg, don't settle for Subway - make the drive to the Headkeeper.

Always a good experience! What makes this place really nice is the huge patio. Theres not too many places around here where you can sit outside. We were just here on Sunday & as usual the food & drinks were perfect. We ordered both the calamari & the crab cakes. Our service was just as good. Awesome beer selection too!
(5)Heather W.
Tasty tapas (the calamari rocks!), nice wine, outdoor seating. A great place to hang on a nice night...

I give Headkeeper five stars based solely on the atmosphere. They have a fabulous and very large outdoor patio area, which makes this place super popular in the summer. The tapas/appetizers are very tasty, and the beer selection is gigantic. So many reasons to visit Headkeeper. Be aware that during summer months when everyone is forced indoors, Headkeeper can get pretty packed.

This place is great! If it is possible to have too many beer options this place does, but what can you say variety is the spice of life. Also many of the beers are offered at very reasonable prices. The second thing, this is the food is darn good as well. My only complaint is the very limited menu. While the food is great tasting, well priced, and high quality, it generally is very small in portion size and lacks any sides. So I would definitely encourage getting something to share along with your main course.

I have only been here a few times with a friend, but it is generally a good experience. The nits that I have gone, the crowd was pretty chill and so was the staff. The usually have a good selection of beer and generally pretty fast service even if they are busy. All in all a good experience.

one of my favorite places to get a beer. nice selection and good people.
