My sister goes to medical school in Greensburg, PA and a few weeks ago I was helping her move into her new apartment. She had been to it before and suggested stopping in for a quick bite to eat. When we arrived we were seated immediately and got a table in the bar. One thing I noticed right away was the floors in the bar were so slick and the chair I sat down on almost slid out from underneath me. The floors weren't wet or anything. The chairs just slide around quite a bit. Definitely a little unsafe! Anyway, the menu is quite vast and my sister and I split the Tuscan mac and cheese entree with a side of onion rings and the loaded baked potato. Super healthy right?!? All the food was pretty good however I was quite surprised by the prices. Coming from Chicago I'm used to paying quite a bit to dine out however I wasn't expecting small town PA to have comparably high prices. Would this stop me from coming back? No. The food was decent but nothing special. The next time I'm in Greensburg this place will be a option. 3 stars.

I've been to Smokey Bones (or the recipient of takeout) a few times now, and I'd give it the ranking of "A-OK." On the bright side-- service is always friendly, there's plenty of TVs, it seems clean, and the menu, beer included, is good and reasonably priced. I haven't had a bad meal here, but nothing's made me super impressed, either. So far, I can't decide if I prefer their grill options or the BBQ options. I've had a turkey burger and beef burger and both were good but not fantastic; I think I actually preferred the turkey one. The fries are consistently good. The pulled pork is good, if a little bit dry-- adding the sauces on the table definitely helps. They have a sweet sauce and a chipotle sauce that are both pretty tasty. This isn't standout barbecue, especially if you've ever experienced it anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line, but it suffices when the craving hits, and for a reasonable price.

I had the Chicken Breast with Wings, Baked beans and Mashed Potato's. I thought the wings were so-so, but overall I enjoyed the meal very much. I liked that i was able to try the different styles of BBQ sauce. Staff was awesome and prices were good. I will be back when i am in the area again!

Smokey Bones was disappointing! We thought the place looked great and we were in the mood for ribs. Unfortunately, the ribs did not deliver. They were overpriced and not worth the calories. The queso dip seemed like reheated velveeta. Sorry we wasted our time with this place.

My mom and I stopped at Smokey Bones for dinner. Their cornbread with the pecan butter was so good as always. It was actually the reason we stopped there. We both had the pulled pork sandwich with French fries, The french fries were piping hot. The pork was good and tender. Unlike the ribs that I got the last time. They tell you they are fall off the bone but you actually have to chew them off the bone. Would recommend the Texas roadhouse if you want ribs. But our meal today was very good the waitresses were friendly the manager was very nice. Overall had a very good experience.

So disappointed ! We had gone to the pgh mills location and LOVED it , so we thought we would go to the one right by home. We will only ever get takeout again. Food was terrible and the service at the bar was even worse. I sat with my plate pushed forward the entire time after taking two bits and the bartender said nothing to me until my boyfriend was finished eating. They need to be more attentive and maybe less concerned with all of the employees sitting at the bar drinking. Let's not forget, you're a chain restaurant, not toms bar. We won't be back to that location :(

I give it 3 stars plus 1 more just for it being the best bbq in the area. Foods pretty good but there is nothing really awesome about it.

Having used to work here I was surprised at how bad it got here. Food took longer than expected even on a slow day and one staff member was very rude. My friend also stated his opinion as his father received the wrong side and got fries instead of a baked potato. Instead of taking it back the server grabbed the fries with her bare hands and took them back. She also spilled a drink on his uncles IPhone which I can assume isn't pleasant.

Not a great place. Sub par food, poor service. Waitress had the habit of dropping food at the table "on the run" without any concern to provide any type of service. Exactly what you expect at a chain. Overpriced! Avoid this place if you want good BBQ. Go to Clems!

Come for the atmosphere, leave for the food. Smokey Bones is one of those places that I am dying to like, but just can't. I have been there three times. Each time to redeem the others, but it just can't be done. On a good note, the service is always amazing. The Waitstaff is friendly and prompt. The restaurant is clean, and is filled with humorous little signs and gimmicks. What's not to like? Oh yes...the food. The food is just awful. It is the fattiest, chewiest, stringiest BBQ I have ever eaten. The brisket looks like undercooked slabs of bacon and the turkey has some kind of weird junk on it as well. The sides were alright. The one saving grace to this place is the BBQ sauce. They have 4 different kinds sitting on your table at all times. No matter how bad the food is, the BBQ sauce (in great quantities) can make it all better. This is a place that everyone should try for themselves. I have heard good things about there food, I haven't experienced it yet, but I have heard good things.

I rarely give a five star review but I just dined hear and had the BBQ burger and this was by far, hands down, the best burger I have ever had! I eat regularly at InNOut, Five Guys, Burgatory, you name it and they don't compare. The beers were expensive I guess that's why they don't advertise their prices on the menu but everything else has a price. Will definitely go back except don't order the beer!

Really mixed reviews had me curious. Service was really good despite a busy Friday night. Actually the service was outstanding. Got the combo of ribs and pulled pork. The pork was great and so were the side items. My ribs we're totally overlooked which is the only reason there are not 5 stars. My server immediately replaced the ribs and they were great on the 2nd go around. The manager stopped by my table to insure my food was good. Found out the entire management staff had been changed and they were really trying to turn around the perceptions of the store. It appears to me they are on the right path. He also told me he has tried to reach out to those who have had bad experiences to try and make it right. Definitely worth another try if you have not been there in a while.

It was late in the night when we got there, so I am not sure that if that is why the protion of the brisket was very small for the price. The briskey was very fatty too. The Blackberry Ice Teas was tastey though with good service.

I've eaten here a number of times and find it inconsistent. Twice I've enjoyed lunch there (had salmon both times) and the service was fine. Anytime I've called in the evening for to go orders the people on the phone are rude or unprofessional, then when I go to pickup they actually have to go find the person who took my order, they can't just look it up and take care of it. Also the food is overpriced for what you get. IF YOU WANT REALLY GOOD BARBECUE GO TO CLEM'S ON ROUTE 22 NEAR BLAIRSVILLE. The only thing this place has going for it is its location, which is why they're always busy.

Went here with my family to celebrate my birthday, and I have to admit I was a little worried at first based off of its Yelp rating, but it wound up being a pretty decent meal. It looked like this place had a pretty nice bar setup, so in the future once I turn 21 I could see myself coming here to grab a beer. The restaurant staff was very happy and friendly. They moved the tables together for us to sit our group of 5, and even accepted our demands to decide to wait for a large booth to clear out. Very satisfied with the staff. The food wasn't half bad either. We started with the nachos and decided to add pulled pork to them. I got to admit these were pretty good nachos. They could have used some more pulled pork for the price we paid to add it on, and the cheese seemed like it was microwaved on and wasn't too hot. However, they were still edible and very yummy. I think they would have been enjoyed much more if the whole plate of nachos had been served hotter with the cheese actually freshly melted and the pulled pork actually fresh and hot. For my meal I created my own burger, which turned out delicious. Blue Cheese, cooked mushrooms and onions, and garlic mayo. It was great, and I didn't even have to upgrade to the premium beef. They did forget to put the garlic mayo on it, but the waitress quickly brought it after I brought it to her attention. Like I said it was a pretty delicious burger. I thought it was pretty ridiculous that my burger did not come with any sides, but hey I guess that is there way of making more money by charging you a dollar for fries. Other than those two negatives, I really cannot complain much about my meal. Like I said this place is pretty good. If you are trying to find some decent BBQ for a decent price you should check this place out.

Well, I almost never write a one-star review...I'm generally a "glass half full" kind of guy. But this restaurant deserves it so badly, I just had to write it. I've been here once, and it was a complete disaster. I mean, in every way. First, it took forever to get our orders taken. We weren't all given silverware or napkins, and no ketchup was given to my group of 12 people, even though everyone around us had it on their table. After ordering, we waited nearly an hour for the food. it came out over the course of 15 minutes, so some people were done by the time others were getting food. Overall, the service was HORRIBLE. No one paid any attention to our table, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. Getting our check took another 45 minutes. What a nightmare. The food was prepared pretty badly, with a lot of our dishes cold. My pulled pork sandwich was decent enough tastewise, but it contained about 5 tablespoons worth of pork on a giant bun. Along with this, I was served 10(no joke) fries. I've never had a more unappealing meal...the plate was almost empty! I'd never go again. The taste of the food was decent to me, but it's definitely not worth the trouble of the HORRENDOUS service.

I went here for the first time and I was disappointed. There seemed to be a continuous wait of 20-25 minutes for a table (and about 10-15 people waiting at a time). When I was seated, I observed about a third of the tables empty in the restaurant; and it stayed that way the entire time I was there. I heard a bartender complain loudy about the kitchen service, the waitresses seemed bored and annoyed, and I heard them dictating to the hostesses when it was okay to seat their tables. The food was okay-I've actually had better at other chain restaurants, and the prices were not great.

First time we have been to Smokey Bones for quite some time, first time we were ever at this particular location. We quit going because we live close to the one at Pittsburgh Mills Mall and the food quality was dropping off there from when they first opened. Which is really odd because places usually get better the longer they are established! Anyway this location was no better, we arrived at 5pm and there was no wait which should have been the first red flag. Long story short, service was horrible, food was gummy and chewy and had likely been sitting under a heat lamp since before we got there. The order was wrong, brought our side salad with no dressing, never came back to see how anything was. Oddly enough when the waitress came to get the check I told her I didn't need any change (Still tipped 15%) and she seemed to be somewhat concerned as I'm guessing she picked up on my irritated demeanor. Had it not been for the long line waiting to get a table when we left I would have asked for a manager, but I just figured a poor review on Yelp and a promise between me and the wife to NEVER go back again would suffice.

I Will Never ever ever go back to this place!!! First, the waitress we had was incredibly rude and overly distracted by something, I suspect the hockey game that was on the TV. at the time. She seemed to be way too busy kissing ass at another table to realize that our food was up from the kitchen, that a different waitress had to bring us our food. The food we ordered was nothing to write home about, lackluster everything!!!! from the drinks to the sides.... and not to mention It took our waitress (candy was her name) forever to bring me my drink back, then she proceeded to try and take my plate and silverware saying I was done with my meal.... I had had it!!! I asked to speak with the manager, who was a douche bag as well. He said that he was sorry and that he couldn't do anything about the situation. HMMMM... I think the employees are more important than customers... Stay away from this joint, there are better places out there to spend your money at....

Our dining experience at Smokey Bones was less than enjoyable. The hostess was dressed inappropriately (too much cleavage). The food wasn't that great- the cornbread was dry and so was the meat (turkey & beef brisket). My husband ordered a side of the fire roasted corn. The little container it came out in was dirty.... we thought the dish was just stained, but upon further inspection, my husband was able to scrape off the brown/dirtiness that was lining the dish. The waitress gladly exchanged it for a new one. However, it took forever to get our check. Save your money and eat elsewhere.... This place is pretty disappointing.
