I'm like a groupie for this place! I love the sandwiches, the Asian Pork pizza is outstanding, pecan pie bread pudding, Elvis cake. I've never had a bad meal here. I love the creative menu!

Really a good restaurant for Greensburg. I've been there twice and it is a breath of fresh air for the area. In a town where every restaurant is the same, this place is a welcome break. The menu changes seasonally and they also use fresh pasta from a local provider in Irwin. The menu has unique twists on some classic dishes and is not at all plain, boring, or run of the mill like most other places in the area. The place might not look like much from the outside... hey it was an old carpet store, but inside it is very inviting and filled with friendly people and good food.

Went here on a Wednesday night with my wife and two children. There was nobody in the restaurant. We were amazed at the unique choices on the menu. Our waitress was extremely friendly and she provided snacks for our two small children to keep them occupied. We ordered the pretzel bread with the beer cheese for an appetizer and it was fabulous. For our meals, my wife ordered "the Italian". I ordered the "pigg". It was a pulled pork sandwich with special barbecue sauce cheese and coleslaw on top and it was one of the best sandwiches that I ever had. Both meals came with fries. Both meals were terrific!! The dessert menu was impressive and we actually bought dessert which we never do. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. We definitely will be back. Check out the pictures! This is by far the beat restaurant in the area for your dollar. I truly mean that. I wish I could give 10 stars.

Friday night and we get seated right away. The restaurant is BYOB, it's $2.00 fee to open a beer. The wine uncorking fee is more. Their are four waitress's standing near by with apparently nothing to do. The restaurant is brightly decorated and the blinds do a great job filtering out the bright summer sun. Odd that there was no music playing. Which drew my attention to the sounds from the dishwasher The menu featured a wide array of interesting dishes. pizzas look really good. The 6 oz veal picatta with smashed potatoes and asparagus is a great looking dish, It was pretty tasty. I wish my waitress would have stopped back during the meal. It's a little hard to cut veal with a butter knife. You should have heard the sound of the knife hitting the plate when it slipped from my hand. Price $18.00. $13.00 for a chicken sandwich and curly fries. My wife was not happy about the bill. But I'm a fan!

I live in the DC area and while visiting my daughter yesterday we stopped in for lunch..this place was amazing! From the service to the food it was top notch! Don't let the outside fool you..the renovated carpet store holds a bounty of culinary delights on the inside! Don't leave without trying the Chicken chili.. It's the stuff of dreams!

Based on other reviews about how good this place was, we went here for lunch. Just as others said, the exterior was not great, after all it was previously a carpet warehouse. We should have known when we had trouble opening the front door due to the pavement heaving up in front of the door. I guess freeze and thaw had taken it's toll. Once inside we were shown to a double booth near the back of the restaurant which was good because the other available seating was by the front door where all the cold air would hit you. The decor was fun, colorful and interesting. The menu was also interesting, too bad the actual food was not up to the same. We ordered the white chicken chili as an appetizer to share. It was not what we expected. More like a gloppy, gluey soup that seemed like it was made from canned cheese soup with some pinto beans and chicken breast thrown in and topped with a few flecks of parsley. Served with a chewy Pillsbury-esque bread stick, we were pretty sure we had a two day supply of sodium in that bowl alone. Then came the first sandwich we chose to share, a gyro. Obviously the person who said it was the the best gyro they ever had has never had one from the Ligonier Country Market, or the Westmoreland County Fair or even the Derry Ag Fair , for that matter. This one was one of the worst gyros we ever tasted. Our last hope was pinned on the fish sandwich with fries. Well the curly fries were pretty good and my husband liked the cole slaw. But the fish was kind of weird textured and was just OK. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality of the food served. We will not go back and advise others to not waste their money eating here.

This place is a must try! Awesome food, nice atmosphere and great service! Shrimp and Grits was absolutely fantastic, homemade everything! The desert is all homemade and the tray has a nice selection. Prices are good for the quality and caliber of food$$ Must try for foodies!

The outside is as plain and simple and the inside is luscious, hip and cleverly decorated. Make a reservation if you're coming on the weekend for sure! We really enjoyed the food and I must say, they have the most creative an unusual menu I've seen around (grilled ribeye salad, Asian pork pizza, fall spiced baked Brie bowl, crispy duck confit leg, shrimp & grits) they have plenty of vegetarian offerings and my gluten-free friend was tickled to have lots of choices. You'll be pleased whether you're up for an entree, salad, sandwich or appetizer. The service was excellent, friendly and well-paced. The coffee was good and we are definitely coming back to try the lunch menu and the white chicken chili. Dessert: epic. I had the banana cake with chocolate ganache, peanut butter icing and candied bacon. I said it: bacon.

Had lunch here Saturday. Service was outstanding. I had the BCM, others had ribeye steak sandwich and polish cannon. All were generous in size and very tasty. They offer some very unique flavor combinations. I wish the entrees were available all day (only lunch options until 3 pm). Dessert choices were limited to a few options, but again the choices offered unique flavor profiles and everything was special and delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited for lunch during the week. I had an open faced chicken marsala sandwich with curly fries. The chicken was pulled which I thought was different on top of garlic toast with a very generous amount of mushrooms and onions and a light marsala sauce. The portion was so large I fully expected half the size for that price. My pint sized companion had a slice of pizza and it kept him happy. It was a heated up slice which is what I expected for that price. I bet the freshly cooked pizzas are amazing. The service was warm and friendly without hovering. I could have used a sharper knife than what I received. I will definitely be back soon with an adult to try the grilled duck or poached pear salad and enjoy bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer. BYOB w $3 corkage fee. I would probably leave the kids at home if your going for dinner. This is a must try restaurant in Greensburg

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday. The place is small, so we were lucky that it wasn't busy. There is a 2 hour time limit on seating during weekend nights. The decor is unique, and the staff is friendly & knowledgeable about menu items. Great place for a date or to hang out with friends, but not to bring the kids. I ordered the Twisted Chicken sandwich which had raspberry preserves, brie, and spinach. My husband ordered the angus burger. Both tasted fresh, were on homemade buns, and served with the best curly fries I've eaten. The kitchen is viewable from the seating area, and the area appeared clean and well kept. One of the owners (I assume) visited all tables but ours to check on the food/service...not sure why since there were only a handful of tables occupied. However, I was impressed that he was bussing tables and organizing menus without delegating it to someone else. Overall a pleasant experience with unique food.

Came here tonight for the first time....Very friendly and great food. They could use more parking area though Dennys next door is closed for renovations and still don't allow patrons here at Lupi and Leos to park in their lot. Dennys actually called here to tell the customers if they were parked over there..they were getting ready to call police and have us towed. HOW FRIGGIN NEIGHBORLY. I will come back to Lupi and Leos for sure...but I will never Patronize Dennys ever again!

Great variety, the salad and desert were amazing but the lobster ravioli was tougher than I prefer.

This place is unbelievable - just had an incredible meal here. A flavor bonanza. Coconut sheik was awesome, the arancini was super delicious and the chocolate gob was killer. Some people I was with were bummed that the pork belly doughnut was missing. But even w out that, it was an amazing meal. A huge change of pace from the dozens of chains that dominate this town! Cannot recommend highly enough! Also the wait staff is very nice!

Had the white chicken chilli soup which was to do die for. Also gyro and meatball sub were delish. All the breads are made in house:) Dessert was amazing. Had the chocolate salted caramel lava cake. Brittani made our first experience a memorable one. Definitely going back soon!

Just wanted to give a short update, after frequenting Lupi and Leo's for the last several months I have yet to have a bad meal or experience here. The revolving grilled cheeses, raviolis and soups make this place a stand out! This is where I take out of towner's who want to see what Greensburg is all about and no one is left disappointed!

I had the "Rachel" sandwich which was turkey, slaw, bacon, cheese on sunflower bread. Lunch was a very generous portion with fries. Grabbed a homemade dessert to go.

Just epic. I feel very at home here and the menu is spectacular. All the meals are generously portioned. And every time we have been here it has been totally packed. I kinda just want to keep this place a secret but oh well.

Very busy menu that goes everywhere, but everything that my wife and I have eaten here has been great. Very friendly wait staff. Small dining area so call ahead as they get busy, and for good reason.

FANTASTIC! After seeing some reviews my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot. We got the Buffalo Chicken Melt Cicci and the Mediterranean Veggie Cicci and they were delicious! You can tell that their bread is made fresh every morning because the hoagie rolls were crusty on the outside and super soft on the inside. The best part of the experience was getting to meet the owner. Since the restaurant is BYOB, my boyfriend and I brought in beer, but didn't want to bring in too many beers at once. (We didn't want to be "THAT group"). The owner very kindly told us to bring in as many we want, and to never be embarassed to bring anything in. He was sooooooo nice. I can't wait to go back here! What a cool place. :)

Excellent! don't let the exterior fool you! the interior is beaming warmth! from the homemade specialties to the owner, Rob, tending to every customer as family, this place is special! We had the chicken chili with homemade bread stick yum (very rich) followed by their white pizza- simply amazing and fresh, followed by the banana cake topped with candied bacon. Definite must try while in Greensburg!

Food is absolutely amazing. Always make sure to try the soup of the day. You will not be disappointed. Resturant is decorated a little classy mixed with a litter hipster modern feel. Fantastic service. Pizza and burgers are to die for. Would definitely recommended for a date night or first date idea.

I really wanted to like this place. We have been there twice and I can say the staff is super friendly. Good waitstaff is hard to find and these folks were super. The food is ok but not nearly worth the price. The surf n turf sandwich is standard issue hoagie meat dressed up in fancy bread with pizza cheese and three little shrimps. If it were $8 it would have been awesome but for $14 I was disappointed. The seasonal ravioli came out in a bath of straight up butter. The filling was tasty but overwhelmed by the butter and undercooked pasta. I have heard nothing but great things about lunch so maybe dinner just isn't where they shine.

On a recommendation from friends who live in Arizona, we had to give this restaurant a try. So I googled, yelped and perused the menu, checked out pix of the exterior and interior...Always intrigued with recycled buildings. We drove in a white out and finally made our destination, we were greeted by a nervous but pleasant gal ( keep in mind there's a snow storm outside). My companion and I made small talk and another woman walked up to greet us (owner) we introduced ourselves from Culpeper, VA. The owner said she knew exactly where we were located. She lived in Centerville, VA. With that being said we felt very welcomed. The nervous gal (more relaxed) showed us to our table, (I loved this part). The table was a four top, two chairs and a bench with a sliding partition to make the four top accommodate two. We ordered the "trio app" artichoke, olive tapenade and thai hummus w/ pita bread. Entree sword fish and the veal cutlets. I wish I could describe each delicious flavor in every bite. But I will leave that to your own palate. Lupi and Leo's is a must try for all! Thank you for an exceptional experience!!

Just had their pizza. It was the rib-eye pizza. Best pizza I have ever had. My boss kept talking about how good it was. I didn't believe him. Well now I am a believer. I will be order food from them more often!

Outstanding food and excellent service. My wife and I always eat here when we visit our daughter at St. Vincent College. The meals are always delicious and the home-made desserts are very difficult to resist! Rob, the owner, meets with patrons and genuinely is concerned that everyone is enjoying their meals. This restaurant is highly recommended. I only wish we had a restaurant like this in Pittsburgh.

Looking for a new lunch spot in Greensburg, my mom and I chose to try this place. From the outside it's difficult to tell how lovely it is inside. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly. The owner came over and had a chat with us and made us feel very welcome. We hadn't planned on dessert, but everything looked delicious. We chose the key lime crème brûlée with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. We were sitting close to the kitchen so we could smell the sugar under the flame- wonderful. We'll definitely be going back and bringing friends.

Got the buffalo chicken pizza and really enjoyed it, I am looking forward to going back and trying some other items on the menu. They initially messed up our pizza order and as an apology they offered us free dessert (which was good - chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sauce) and also brought us out some bacon wrapped dates to share with our friends (yum!!).

Food is amazing. I got the pizza carbonate it was amazing. The flavors all run together. We also had chicken asiago with risotto cooked perfectly. Make sure to ask for desert tray. Also they have two pasta dishes using Feda's in North Huntingdon pasta.

Man what an impact on Westmoreland County. Small, hip, fantastic food and service they really care about fresh and taste combos. The owner is like a big teddy bear just looking for a hug. They let you bring your own beer and wine. My wife tells me that we need to buy a house closer so we can go more often. I just hope the new house doesn't have as big a yard.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
