Went for an early dinner on a Saturday. We called on the way and made reservations on the patio. It was a cool spot with a nice vibe. We were sat promptly and the outdoor seating was nice and clean. I ordered the Beef Tip & Porcini Sachetti and it was beyond delicious and satisfying. I also ordered The Stunner cocktail which was great. Definitely will be back here for another date night!

We were able to make a reservation for 6 the day of for my grandfather's birthday. We originally asked to be seated inside, but changed our minds and moved outside. The servers were very accommodating. We enjoyed the variety on the menu and ordered four of the appetizers and all were good. We were all satisfied with out main courses and dessert. We would recommend the chocolate cake for dessert. We highly enjoyed this experience and the atmosphere outside was wonderful. We will absolutely come back the next time we are in town!

I honestly can't say enough good things about J Corks. We went on the advise of a friend and we were not disappointed. The food was nothing short of amazing. The staff was very attentive and the hostess was funny and a pleasure to be around all night. Our meal started with scallops for my wife and the calamari for me. Her scallops were perfect and huge. Everything her plate works perfectly and they were delicious. My calamari came in a sweet and mildly spicy chili sauce that was by far the best I've ever had. Not even close. For dinner my wife had the stuffed pork loin that melted in your mouth but my plate was certainly a show stopper. The special was a plate that had an 8oz. Filet, two lamb lollipops two of the monster scallops and a smoked Gouda Mac n cheese with shrimp in it! This mountain of food was so good I never once considered not devouring the entire plate. It never stood a chance. Luckily my wife asked for bites here and there or it would have been gone before I thought to ask her myself! It was a delightful dining experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is a little on the pricy side and they ask for reservations but this ain't McLobster so know that going in and enjoy every minute of it!

Wonderful ambiance, knowledgeable staff, and the location is excellent if you're going to a show at the theater around the corner. Outside there are several areas to eat illuminated by globe lights and heating lamps. Inside dimmed lights, candles, and a fireplace make this one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. They have a wonderful drink menu that changes with the season and their wine list ranges from novice to connoisseur. The prices are a bit on the pricey side but the menu and quality makes it worth every penny. Even with the decor they will not chase you away if you come in on a motorcycle with sleeveless shirts. In fact our hostess walked outside to show us where to park our bike since the restaurant is located on a hill and the cross street was filled. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the parking. With the adjoining bars and parking from residents if you go during a concert then you might be parking quite a few blocks away and that hill isn't meant for heels. However it is worth every penny.

My medical school diet is not particularly exciting. It involves a lot of eggs, a lot of mini Reeses peanut butter cups, and the occassional splurge of Chipotle. However, when my husband got a chance to visit he took me to dinner at J. Corks, and that was definitely exciting. We made a reservation for a Saturday night. When we arrived, there was a big (read: loud) party in the main room), so the hostess suggested we might be happier in the lounge. The chairs looked comfier in there, anyway, so that wasn't a problem. Our server was welcoming and very friendly, and did a great job of appearing when we needed something and disappearing otherwise. The wine list isn't huge, but what they have is quite good-- we had a great bottle of Chardonnay. We were very happy food-wise as well. We had: --spinach dip: not the most elegant dish to order, but very good! Great flavor, not too oily. Served with a great pretzel made in-house. --filet mignon: my husband had the filet, which came with grilled asparagus and gorgonzola mac n' cheese. All of it was great, and the filet was grilled perfectly to medium. Even the leftovers were good. --special lobster tail: after perusing the menu, I was going to get risotto and be perfectly happy. But then the waitress came and described the special, which was pretty much all of my favorite things in one dish. Lobster tails with gorgonzola gnocchi, haricots verts and a sweet corn sauce? I can't describe how delicious this was-- I cleaned the plate. The chef actually brought both of our entrees out to us; the waitress said it was because he was especially proud of them, and he should be. All things considered, this wasn't outlandishly expensive, either-- two gigantic (biggest I've ever been served) lobster tails with fancy side dishes for $35 is a steal, really. And with good ambiance and wine to boot, I'll definitely be back next time I get the chance to splurge on a fancy night out.

Food was decent, but nothing too special. Service was bad; slow, rude, and they ran out of several things and were upset that we ordered them. However, the drink prices were very reasonable. Limited beer menu, but fair prices. Also, very nice outdoor seating, best for evening dinning.

This place is good for a few cocktails abs that's it! The decor is so 80s. The good was bland, over cooked veal and fatty. Filet mignon was blah. The price for poor good outrageous. I expected so much more. I should have none something was wrong when on Friday night there were just one other table there.

my husband's NY Strip - OutFrickinStanding. Perfectly grilled on the outside, warm pink center=delish! my scallops were ok, though i thought they were too salty. I subbed in the goat cheese gnocchi over the butternut squash hash. I thought they were - interesting, and had good flavor. But again, after a couple, the salt really hit me. The arugula was a nice addition to cut the overly salty flavor. for an appetizer we had the calamari. The chili lime sauce that came on it was very good and the slaw pairing was delicious. My only complaint would be way too much of the sauce on top of the calamari. It really made the breading mushy and took away the calamari taste. Would have preferred a light drizzle with maybe a serving on the side for dipping. service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful and relatively quiet.

Poor service, small portions, and mediocre food. Also witnessed a loud argument in the middle of the restaurant between the owner and another employee, which was completely disturbing. Compared to 3 years ago, this restaurant has definitely gone down hill.

My boyfriend and I came here for an early Valentine's dinner and couldn't have picked a better place! Immediately after setting foot in the restaurant, we were greeted by an extremely friendly staff and great service that continued with our waitress, Ginger, who was attentive, friendly, and presented our meals at a great pace (too often I find that dinners feel rushed, or even the opposite. Our appetizer came out very promptly, we were able to eat leisurely before our meals came out, where usually meals are brought 2 seconds after your appetizer arrives. Yet there were no lulls in service - thank you!) The food was delicious! My boyfriend's filet mignon and gorgonzola macaroni was flavorful and tender and my scallops with jalapeño maple risotto was amazing! Great to see unique flavors on a menu without being out of this world. And the honey almond cheesecake? Divine! Will definitely be going back for special occasions in the future.

we arrived in our jeans and t-shirts not knowing this restaurant was so fancy. fortunately, the host did not hesitate to seat us. i think maybe he wanted to hide us because we sat in the back. anyway, our hostess didnt make much eye contact with me (i dont think people are used to seeing blackness in this town) but she was friendly. we ordered the shrimp scampi and the scallops. i also had a salad and my colleague had the tomato bisque. we both devoured our food. it was insanely delicious. the broccoli was eh but the scallops and rice... This was my first time here, and I will admit the food was pretty good, but the rest of my family was disappointed because they recently changed their menu, and in the opinion of my family's, the change was not for the better. I honestly think that the best part of the meal was the pizza appetizer. It was amazing. The balsamic vinegar drizzle that topped the pizza made my mouth hungry for more. My dad was disappointed that his bowl of pasta contained about only 7 twirlfuls, and honestly I had my mouth very mad at me after I tried their ceviche special. It was 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 scallops and the salsa was a jalapeno, strawberry mix... ehhh me thinks not. But, my mothers gnoccis and panchetta was absolutely mouthwatering. If I go back, I am going to ask for a bowl of panchetta with a side of gnoccis.

A nice place to eat. The food was good and very nicely presented. With drinks, appetizers, and a few desserts ( no wine), the tab was $50.00/meal- so this would be upper tier for local restaurants. Very quiet and decorated appropriately. We had the steaks, salmon and tuna- all good. They have an outdoor seating area that we would like to try (in warmer weather). The restaurant is the remodeled Elks building and they have done a good job preserving some of the history, while updating. The flatbread appetizer deserves a special thumbs-up mebtion. A few negatives to keep it a solid 4 star at 5 star prices. The service was slow and our server was in need of training- friendly enough, but not professional (not attentive, forgot a lot of details). Glass on linen isn't acceptable for the table. And silverware was at a premium. Food was few degrees colder than it should be, indicating the management problem also extended to the kitchen. All in all, we had a nice meal and we'll give it another visit.

Very good food and AMAZING drinks (mixed by Colin). While no expert, I'm an active participant in "cocktail culture" here in NYC, and those I had at J. Corks were right on par with the best in NYC (and way less expensive). Whether you're looking for a great traditional drink, or if you're wanting to be dazzled by something new, inventive and delicious, look no further. I'm giving an overall rating of four stars as the food earned four (I had the bacon wrapped sea scallops and the swordfish - both very well prepared.) and the drinks, five. J. Corks will be my first stop next time I visit Greensburg. (Sorry, Mom, you'll just have to wait. Better yet, meet me at the bar....)

If you live in or around Greensburg, you are likely well aware that 1) there aren't many good restaurants there, and 2) many people living there think Olive Garden on a Friday night is FAAAAAANCY. Fortunately, a few great little places are scattered throughout town, including J. Corks, a lovely little restaurant housed in a cute brick building in downtown Greensburg (it's also the sister restaurant of The Headkeeper, another great restaurant in this town). They have good food, friendly servers, and a nice setting, all of which make for a pleasant dining experience. They have, to me, the perfect menu in terms of offerings: not too few, and not too many. The dishes aren't pretentious, but they certainly aren't your usual American fare. Among their starters, the "Headkeeper Calamari" and "Blackened Ahi Tuna" are some of my favorites, and their salads (especially the "Pear & Goat Cheese" salad) are fantastic. Their current dinner offerings include a variety of fish and meat dishes, along pasta dishes and a small selection of pizzas. I recently had the ahi tuna, which was served with a delicious shitake mushroom-and-carrot slaw and mashed potatoes, but I've also had the "Black Tiger Shrimp Carbonara" (creamy and rich) and I've had a chance to sample other dishes when dining with friends and family (including the filet and salmon). They've got a decent selection of desserts as well--nothing too fancy, but a few tasty things to choose from. They offer seasonal drinks as well as a few staple mixed drinks, beer, and a great selection of wines. Be wary--they are a bit heavy-handed with the liquor in their mixed drinks (but, you know, that's not necessarily a bad thing...). I particularly love their Moscow Mule and they've done a mulled wine in the wintertime before that was just fabulous. Parking is pretty good--there's a garage right behind the restaurant that offers free parking in the evenings and on weekends, and street parking is also available. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining, including a bar/lounge that offers a more casual atmosphere. It can get busy on the weekends, so I recommend making a reservation--I went this past Friday at 6:00 and was able to get a table for 2, but was told (very very politely, which was nice) that we'd need to finish up by 7:30 because of a reservation for that table at that time. Though we were finished and quite content shortly before 7:30, they were still incredibly apologetic when we left (even though we were perfectly fine doing so), and that was nice to see. I'm just happy they squeezed us in at 6:00. The lounge area is a little easier to get seated in, so you can always try for that. J. Cork's is a great little place in a town that's oh-so-lacking of decent restaurants, and it's nice to be able to get this kind of dining experience without having to travel into Pittsburgh. If you're that person who does the "TGI Friday's-Friday, Red Lobster-Saturday, and Olive Garden-Sunday" routine, break the cycle and dine at J. Cork's. It's great for a girls' night out, date nights, or even a nice family dinner, and a lot of business-people come in for drinks too.

Went here with the fiance and his parents this weekend. Luckily, we were able to get a table outside! The inside was cute, it's an old house that has been redone. The weather was so nice though, and the patio featured some live music. The menu was very nice, and while the dishes weren't the most creative I have ever seen, they were dishes that most people would like. The salads all sounded good (pear and goat cheese caught my eye) but I went with the jumbo pan seared scallops. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari here was amazing! The batter was so light, and the squid were not overfried. So tasty, so delicious, and (the best part) you get so much of it! Oh, they also had pretty good bread, but who needs bread when there's calamari, right?? The entrees were fine, although nobody seemed blown away by their food. My scallops were really good, nicely cooked (i.e. not chewy or stringy) and the anchovy butter definitely contributed to the dish. Others at the table had the red snapper, and enjoyed it. However, seems like J Corks dropped the ball on the side dishes. The rice pilaf was plain. It didn't have any seasoning. The asparagus was also lacking flavor... where are the spices at, yo? Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I think this is a place with nice atmosphere and is probably one of the nicer restaurants in greensburg, based on the driving tour I was given on the way there. Pretty sure everyone will find something they'd like to eat, and my only complaint is that the side dishes were pretty bland. Oh, and the prices are a little high, but that's the benefit of going with the parents, woo!

We ate here for the first time after a concert at the Palace. Ordered two appetizers which was perfect for a light dinner. Salmon and gorgonzola cakes to die for. The potato straws it was garnished with were crispy and delicious. Also had a Margherita pizza. The dough was grilled and had a wonderful smoky flavor. Plenty of tasty topping. Will definitely return to try the entrees. Drinks and Service were great, too.

After a fairly dismal experience this evening with another establishment we were delighted in ending up in this quaint little bistro type venue..from the greeting by our server Ginger and her friendly attitude the time spent there just got better! My favorite craft beer was available..the Boardwalk fresh cut fries with sea salt and malt vinegar were to die for..the Black Tiger Shrimp Pasta Carbonara. Which I enjoyed..the sauce was excellent..my husbands choice of the petite filet mignon was perfectly cooked and the fire roasted corn was right on point! Ginger was a delight and could not have been a better server if she tried..a sense of humor goes a long way with me! In short..this establishment is a keeper and we plan on going back and enjoying a bottle of Shiraz on the beautiful patio! Kudos J Corks!,,

I like a lot of things about this restaurant. I like the curb appeal as you walk in. I like the spacious patio. I most like the quality and taste of the food served by accommodating waitstaff. With a large party to serve, you never know if the server will excel or drop the ball. We were a party of 11 and our server did quite well. She was able to separate 11 checks and didn't even do the automatic gratuity for large parties since she wanted to make it easier for us. Having had delicious food at J.Corks' sister restaurant Headkeepers, I was excited to try the fare. The large selection of seafood on the menu also whet my appetite. The mussels were well cooked. I enjoyed the sweet broth that had a little kick to it. I'm not sure why they put the cornbread on the bottom as it was very soggy. I would much rather have crusty bread on the side. The Caesar salad was awesome. I'm a huge fan of anchovies and I jump for joy whenever they are served wholly with the salad. The portion was very sizable and I was very satisfied, but there's always room for dessert-especially when creme brûlée is on the menu. The sugary shell on top of the brûlée was a perfect match to its bed of custard. The summer berries added delightful freshness. The combination of my mussels, salad, and dessert made for a nice summer meal. I'm thoroughly looking forward to my next visit.

Goat pear salad was ok, a little too sweet on the poached pears, slowish service. Not bad for a business lunch
