Great breakfast 8.75/10 Don't mind paying for top shelf ingredients and quick and friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere. Should be more places like this

Great experience from the order process to very timely order out and such a pleasant staff making our experience memorable. I know really a healthy bistro less than a mile from Interstate 81 located on the main street in town with good parking access too. I stopped by again this morning to pick up one of the Bitte Blast Smoothie with all fruit and B vitamins because the sample given to me on Saturday was so delicious I wanted for more. The buckwheat pancakes are my next adventure so be ready for the review and pics.

Loved this place. We were in town for a race and this was the perfect spot for lunch. I got the hummus wrap, and requested + avocado and feta cheese and they were happy to oblige. Clean, fast, and most of all, healthy and delicious food.

Stopped in on a lazy Sunday to get some lunch & was really happy we did. The salmon wrap was amazing. It was busy & loud but the staff kept their cool. Definitely a new local favorite.

Unexpected and great find. We stopped for lunch while traveling south. Lots of healthy and? delicious choices....I know.....crazy. We even bought a gluten free cake on the way out and it was a huge hit at our party. It wasn't the normal dense gluten free, it was very tasty.

Love Pure and Simple! Have been multiple times and have tried a good portion of the regular menu as well as different daily specials. Have never been disappointed with the quality of food and the presentation is very nice. Service has always been friendly. The Buckwheat Pancakes are my favorite for breakfast. For lunch I'll usually get a soup and wrap or a HUGE salad (I like the festive salad). I always get a dessert (have never gotten the same thing twice) and everything has been good. I highly recommend Pure and Simple if you're looking for a healthy dining option.

Don't go if you're hungry. Went once, got a wrap that had lettuce and mushrooms in it. It was terrible

Pleasant atmosphere I was greeted with a friendly smile you could smell a wonderful aroma coming from the kitchen as soon as i walked in they seem to use quality organic ingredients in most of their menu items I ordered two eggs and toast witch tasted great

New BETTER location! I stopped in on my way home last night and am so excited to have found a GREAT HEALTHY new spot that is very close. Lots of organic and vegetarian choices yet hearty choices that won't leave out your carnivorous friend! Ambiance is great, relaxing and decorated perfectly. They kept all the great parts of this building. The old perfect tile floor, leaded windows and other unique building aspects you don't get with new construction. I LOVE IT! It's welcoming and warm and so was the lady behind the counter, we chatted it up and she offered me water while I waited for my carry out. She went over a few menu items including their specials and she was great about working with my diet preferences. I chose the Grilled Portabella "Burger" Wrap ~ it was delicious and came with "Blue Chips" which I love. The wrap had Portabella mushroom, mixed greens, tomato, onion, peppers and some soy cheese I substituted at her suggestion for the Feta since I avoid dairy. Perfectly grilled and stuffed without being saturated in oil which i have experienced at other restaurants. I also picked up one of the fresh backed cookies - YUMMO. They did have a nice little selection of baked goods, health food products and refrigerator selections available also. The rest of the menu is calling my name with their breakfast items, Juice Bar, Salads, Wraps, Smoothies and Coffee Bar. I can't wait to go back!

We stopped here for a cuppa and a goodie. Very nice staff, good tea & great ambiance. My goodie was a pumpkin thing @ very healthy as goodies go. My husband got a chocolate goofier-looked very nice & it was gone quickly.

I love their wraps. It is a great place to meet others for coffee, as well as a fantastic place to get work done online. I've had most of their menu, and have liked everything I've tried. The service is outstanding with great explanations on the health value of the menu, and ingredients yet unknown to most of the public. Fresh organic food will cost more, but is worth every bit. Be sure to check this place out!

This place has a great set up of healthy food including organic items. Creative desserts (ie paleo), gluten free options, juices, shakes (with or without dairy), etc. they also sell supplements, unique vegan items, etc. had the organic grilled portobello bowl and a quinoa salad with chicken and salmon. Would definitely come back if in the area but they don't take American Express for you business travelers.
(4)David H.
Food is very healthy, great menu. The atmosphere inside is homey, nice selections of gluten free baked good. Overall, only negative is somewhat less than warm staff. Probably more a reflection of service in Franklin County in general. No one greets you or says hi??

I live about a block from this place, and have gone there ever since its inception in the big old house by Interstate 81. I have never gotten anything I didn't like, although the price tag can certainly add up quickly. The portions can also be on the smaller side, which really isn't a huge deal, since large portion sizes are part of what's wrong with modern food establishments. I usually don't get a meal there, but do grab a smoothie or a combination of fresh juices about once a month or so. Anyways, always a great selection, and I feel confident of the quality. I don't know if I'd say that everything there is 100% organic. I don't think that they make that claim. However, they do their best, and it's great to see their selection expanding all the time.

This place is a gem! It's my go-to when I'm in town visiting family and need a healthy meal. Pros: -Delicious raw, gf and raw/gf treats -Healthy menu -Large selection of juices, smoothies -Something for everyone Cons: -Whats with the baggie of like 8 tortilla chips you get with a wrap? Why not a small bag of potato chips? -No gluten-free sandwich option. The wraps can become blah. They make great gf bread, why not offer a sandwich? -Fresh salmon would be nice instead of salmon salad with canned salmon
(4)Rich B.
Adorable. Every town needs a healthy spot like this. Also, fairly close to the highway if you are traveling through. Bravo! Veggie-based sandwiches + an array of juice and smoothie options + coffee = what more do you need? Attactive and sunny dining area and lovely staff. Yay!

What a fabulous find in a not so populated area. Pure and Simple Cafe is all organic and has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a fake (veggie) BLT wrap and a coconut cocoa nib smoothie. The wrap was the smallest wrap I have ever consumed. For $8, I expected something about twice the size. It was delicious, but I was still hungry. Thank goodness for the $6.99 smoothie. My coworkers each ordered the soup and are still talking about it on a daily basis. It was that good. I will most definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Healthy food on a road trip is a God send! Thanks to Yelp and all of it's users I found a great place that serves healthy and even organic choices. Thank you for the nourishment.
(5)Kyle H.
They offer a large selection of organic and gluten free options for breakfast and lunch. I tried the buckwheat pancakes and they were delicious. Service and staff were friendly and polite. I'll definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.
(4)Abby R.
This place is great! When you're on a road trip and can't handle another processed food joint STOP here! All organic. Breakfast and lunch options as well as a small section to buy protein powder and other goods. This is a gem of a find.
(5)Jamie B.
A bit pricey for what you get, but it's the only cafe of its type until you hit Hagerstown 11 miles South. Veggie Humus Wrap was tasty, only 8 inches though. So a buck & 9 cents per inch... Like I said its the only place of its type in a town full of pizza & subways. It deserves to charge a bit more. Besides this place has been here for years!

Driving up I-81 and searched Yelp for a lunch spot. This little cafe popped up and what a find. It's just a few blocks off the interstate in the lovely little town of Greencastle. The menu has salads, wraps, smoothies and juices with vegan and gluten-free options. Not your average road food! Everything was delicious. If you are on the road and looking for a healthy lunch option and would like a cute little downtown to stretch your legs this is a great spot. Check the hours. They close up early and are not open on Sundays.

The atmosphere is very cozy on a cold day. The price at first seemed a little high, but the food was well worth it. Ordered buckwheat pancakes for the kids and the breakfast wrap for me. The wrap was excellent and just the right size. The kids throughly enjoyed the buckwheat pancakes that had almond slivers and fresh strawberries and pure maple syrup. They said the pancakes were perfect without the syrup...(say wha??) Tried a drink that was made with ganoderma, dandy mix, coconut oil and butter. First time hearing of ganoderma, am interested in trying it plain. The drink was interesting, flavor started off with the coconut but finished very buttery. They have very healthy food and it all looks delicious! Am looking forward to trying the juice and smoothies. They have a dessert case with raw desserts; they looked very decadent and professionally made! Several other healthy items for sale, organic milk/cheese, non gmo eggs, dandy mix, chia seeds, and an assortment of healthy cookies. Looking forward to going back and trying more!

Cute cute little place in Greencastle! Love the new location. Stop in sometime for a change of pace! It comes highly recommended!

We were traveling through and found this on Yelp! We met my sister-in-law and had a wonderful time with delicious and nutritious food to make the visit even more enjoyable. I will return if I travel through while they are open again. The people were super friendly and the $ was great.

After being in the Greencastle area for a couple months, I've finally found my way to Pure and Simple on a random Wednesday morning. Compared to a couple other places in the area this is by far the best cafe I have found in Greencastle. The flowers are fresh, the decor is inviting, plus the food is not only healthy but delicious.
(5)Heather R.
The food is consistently good here. Excellent quality and flavorful ingredients. They also have good coffee and a large selection of gluten free food and desserts.

I haven't been to the eastern U.S. in a few years, but I was so stoked to learn about this sweet cafe!! The staff are all very friendly. The cashier allowed me to sample the carrot cashew ginger soup before committing. It is so warm and lovely. It gives that ginger kick I like, but not overpowering. The bread came with butter on it...if you don't do dairy, make sure you check that situation out!! I asked for plain bread and the counter person switched it out no problem. Then! She gave me a sample of their "sniffle stopper" smoothie. Very tasty. I don't drink smoothies very often, I prefer to chew my food, but I do enjoy them from time to time. I'd venture to say it was better than Jamba Juice. I was slightly disappointed that the tomato soup wasn't vegan. It's not hard to make soups vegan. I do it in my kitchen all the time. However, there's no deduction of stars for that because overall I think the purpose of this cafe is STELLAR and I think the fact this place exists and does well is PROGRESS and I can't fault progress...AT ALL.
(5)Kristie R.
A great place to get organic or vegetarian food. They also carry a small selection of healthy groceries, fresh eggs, milk and cheeses. They are a little expensive but I like knowing the food is fresh made and from quality ingredients. If you need gluten free foods check this place out!
(4)George G.
I'm hooked on the F.R.O.G. smoothie from a wonderful menu of juices and smoothies. Vegan approved and can be a meal replacement. My server Jess did a great job making my smoothie! Great service always tasty!! Plenty of room inside to sit and enjoy your meal. Parking is available in the rear of the property which also has a wonderful health food/vitamin store.
(5)Steve T.
Great idea. Lots of choices.
(4)Erin K.
Hands down the healthiest, freshest, best place in the tri-state area. The owner is amazing, the food is delicious. Awesome juice bar and the best smoothies I've ever had at an organic cafe. I eat here all the time and I highly recommend. All food is organic, which is such a rarity to find for someone who shops organic and juices.
(5)Paula C.
Very good, went here for the first time and the place is nice and the food was great! Had the fake BLT and the chocolate smoothie, my boyfriend ordered the same and he even enjoyed it and he's a total meat 100% kind of guy. Will be coming here more for sure!
(5)Jessica S.
Ordered 2 smoothies to go and the wait time was about 15 mins. Price was a bit high for what was put into the smoothies. Atmosphere was great though and nice and warm on a winter day. Worth going back but I won't be spending the money on the smoothies.

Gem of Greencastle! I have been here about three times now, and one time was at their old location which they were quickly outgrowing. I always get their taco salad, which is huge. It's so fresh, colorful, and very tasty. They will typically have specials for the day and I will often get a soup as well and they are always a hit. Baked goods (especially the cookies) are great and I heard their breakfast is delicious as well! Even if you are not into healthier, organic options you wont' be let down by this place!

Major road trips call for a serious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee to kick-start the morning. Ant that's what we needed on our recent return road trip from Arkansas to NYC. This charming little eatery just off of Hwy 81 met the challenge. We arrived just after they opened the doors on a chilly morning and were greeted by a cheery young waitress who roused us with generous cups of deeply satisfying gourmet coffee. Pure and Simply Cafe caters to the veggie-lovers and though I don't go that way, I found plenty on the menu to recommend. I ordered the cheese & veggie omelet (food fotos!) and just basked in the quiet warmth of this little cafe. I drove through five states and two time zones thanks to that breakfast.

This place is miraculous! Not only healthy and organic, but absolutely delicious and hearty. Meatavores and big appetites won't miss out here. The wraps are stuffed full of goodness. The chicken salad is my all time favorite. But lately, I've been into the pick two soup and salad, because the soups are SO good... I recently had a beef stew so delicious that I returned the next day to have it again. Served with a nice side salad, and a slice of hearty, homemade bread. It left a little room left for a mini in pie. Divine! In the morning, I usually go for a big smoothie (the FROG will transform you!), or a freshly made fruit and vegetable juice. I swear my skin looks better and I have more energy since startign on the juices! The ingredients are all whole foods. No mixes laden with sugar and processed ingredients. Sweet and delicious! I have had the egg and pancake dishes on occasion, and have never been disappointed. So much tastier than Denny's... And for those who do wish to cut calories, eat vegan/vegetarian, or simply fill their bodies with whole food goodness, this place is heaven. So many options! Always at the cutting edge of the healthy food industry. Think kale, collards, Agave, Stevia, flax, chia. gluten free, sprouted whole grain, quinoa, green food like Garden of Life! Everything you crave, with none of the mess. The bakery produces raw and baked goodies, catering to most diets. Raw, gluten free, low sugar, you name it! Sweets and loaves of bread that wil keep you satiusfied and nourished. I can't say enough about this place, except, dinner hours would rock my world!

Everything we've had there is good! They have kombucha which is great since my boyfriend loves it. He is a vegetarian and they have a lot we can choose from.

Found this place via yelp while traveling down 81. Delicious homemade soups. I had turkey barley and my husband had curried lentil. Really outstanding. Very tastefully decorated, comfortable. Good service. Excellent find all around.
(4)Linda H.
The best place to buy gluten-free bread (only thing I've tried so far). Absolutely delicious.
(5)Jim H.
Good place stopped in to see what they were all about had a Pumpkin smoothie I will be back for sure

Totally pleasant surprise to find such an unusual restaurant right off a major interstate. Instead of a usual fast food chain this restaurant is an organic health food oriented restaurant with a really neat vintage, turn of the century decor. When travelling I use my smartphone to look up restaurants near the interstate I'm stuck on to hopefully find something more interesting than the boring fast food and chain restaurants which dominate the routes. This is probably the most success I've had. If you're a fast food junkie this place is NOT for you. It has vegan, vegetarian and organic fare. I had a free-range chicken salad wrap with shrimp bisque which was great. My wife had a spinach salad. Both were interesting and enjoyable. My wife was finally impressed with the results of my electronic explorations.

Superb, friendly place for food with free (open) wifi, so it's also good for working remotely if that's your thing (it's mine lately). The people are very accommodating and the place is relatively quiet, even though it's a stone's throw from I-81 (exit 5). I hope I don't ruin the quiet factor by posting this review! Only organic foods are used in preparation of the wonderful breakfast and lunch menu. Great soups, sandwiches and smoothies made up the meals I a ate while working from Pure and Simple for two weeks recently. If want to eat healthy foods, this is the right place! The web connection is fast, so I was able to connect to my office and do all the fun stuff I need to do for them and with the exception of a short, lunchtime visit by two "terrible" twins (and their poor miserable parents), the place was library quiet more than 80% of the time. Working 8 hours a day from a quiet corner here seemed very welcome by the staff. What else can I say about Pure and Simple? Oh, there's a holistic health center upstairs for spa and beauty treatments if that's your thing (it's not mine). I think that's a great idea for a business--web cafe and spa! If you're ever on 81 near the MD border and need a break or want to get on the web, stop in for a fine meal and a great afternoon. They close at 5PM, so come early!
(5)Noah F.
I would agree. This place is healthy, relaxing, has wifi, oh and is healthy. Good waitstaff. I think they also have a spa or something upstairs. Also you can eat on couches, or tables, or outside on the porch. Right off of 81 good location. Computers if you don't have a computer. Great coffee. They even serve you which is always a plus at coffee shops.
