There are six of us that get together for "Dive Bar Monday". This week, Purples was the chosen destination. We definitely dove into the deep end, this time. This is a local bar, with a lot of locals seated at 7pm. Two or three pool tables and signs for an upcoming pool tourney. Unless you want to drink alcohol, forget it. Iced tea? Sorry, no. Soda? Wait, I'll get a can from the back storage area... The menu is permanently printed and captured in a plastic stand on the table. Burgers, fries, fish and some deep fried favorites (poppers, cheese sticks). Burger and fish was good - fries tasty. Poppers were not good. Our bill was $13. Place was dark, extremely smokey and the restrooms were clean where it mattered. Service was friendly. Would I go back? No. Is Purples pretending to be anything other than what it is? No.
