My first taste in a very long time of excellent in flavor and texture... Aw, who am I kidding. This was the greatest cheeseteak ever, sorry ma. Not only that, but the guy complaining about the rolls... Well these stood,up to a 3000 mile ride home. So that I could share this outstanding cheesesteak with family. I wouldnt miss this for the world. when even close to So. Philly. I go where the Locals knows Best LEO's PS the sammiches..aka hoagies are wonderful as well.

Small, old style steak shop. They write your order on a bag that your sandwich goes in. Staff never gets a break. Everyone is happy and the one owner is really sweet. The other one is kind of a jerk. My boyfriend lives around the corner from here so once in a while, we treat ourselves on the weekends. The prices are expensive but the food is so good. They stick with what they are good at too. Strictly just hoagies and steaks there. No fries, no chicken fingers. Now, I've only eaten here a few times however my boyfriend has literally grown up eating from this place so he said within the last year or so, the sandwiches have gotten much much smaller than before. I still get full though! Just figured I would mention it.

Folks!! This is the place for great quality and fairly priced cheese steaks. Most people go to Philly's cheesesteak landmarks such as Pat's, Geno's or Tony Luke's. These establishments are fine if you like waiting in long lines for overpriced fair(at best) quality steaks. That's where most out-of-towners go to eat. Tisk tisk tisk!! If they only knew where to go. I know there are several excellent steak shops all around Philly and the Delware Valley area. Some places need a little searching but this one is IT. Leo's has never disappoint me. Since it's located near the airport, I've seen many people stop here before first before they take their flight back home. If I may suggest, call ahead. The waiting area is quite small and are usually packed with people. Some even waiting outside or in their cars. It's worth it!! Also, if you order a large cheesesteak, you'd best have some one to share with you. No joke!! I'm frequent to this place and very lucky to have it in my neighborhood

How have I not written a review for this place yet? This is the first Delco cheesesteak I've ever had and it holds up as one of the best. I've had all the variations of cheesesteaks and most of the hoagies and can proudly say that a SMALL is for two people. They are loaded with meat, full to the brim. I wish they had a place to eat inside and bathrooms, that's my only gripe. Definitely a top 10 Cheesesteak for me and a Top 20 italian hoagie for me.

It's time to admit a private shame from someone born and raised in the Philly area. I don't like Amoroso rolls. As a baker, I deal with these rolls often and I know how popular they are but they just aren't for me. I don't like a roll I can squeeze into a small rubber ball. I like my bread hearty. I mention this after trying Leo's for the first time. I've heard great things about this far off Delco Gem and it was time to try it after seeing it on my ride home from work. As others have mentioned, the place is small with only side street parking. That said I really didn't have much trouble getting in and out with the quickness. Service was friendly and efficient. The verdict on the sandwich is very good. Maybe not best in Delco as advertised but close. For me it goes back to the roll. They load you up here with meat and in my opinion, like an Amish girl on a rumspringe binge, Amoroso can't handle it. I often have to eat in my car and even if I didn't, Leo's doesn't offer much in the way of seating. When I unwrapped the sandwich, it looked like greasy goodness but the roll was already starting to dissolve and fall apart. I was almost at a loss how to tackle it until I just made a makeshift trough out of the paper and ate it like the pig that I am. The sandwich was absolutely delicious but the Platoon soundtrack should have been playing as I ate it. They do not skimp on the meat. I had enough on my lap to make a shorti hoagie after. Not a dig on Leo's , but I think it would be cool for some steak places to offer different roll options. Overall I will go back again but just make sure I have a full body bib with me.

Usually bigger comes at the expense of stretching ingredients thin. So when I saw that Leo's Steak Shop was the proud home of the 18-inch cheesesteak, I got nervous about possibly being let down after the hour and 40 minute drive from my house. But my boy Rhon assured me that Leo's would easily unseat my previous favorite, Dalessandros. I didn't want him to be right. I was hoping this would be a disappointment as I hate to see old friends go. But it wasn't. This is the first time I had a cheesesteak where I didn't have to add more mustard or extra cherry peppers to make it my own. Not that I don't look forward to slathering my cheesesteaks with condiments, because that's half the thrill. But there's a lot to be said about just sitting and devouring a cheesesteak without getting up or reaching over for a bottle of hot sauce or two extra helpings of sweet peppers. Yes this cheesesteak was that good. Steaks are sliced then chopped into juicy chunks on the grill. Then comes that gooey provolone bubbling into the steak juices. And out comes that big Italian bread loaf split open to receive that mountain of cheesy ribeye and the rest ends up in my stomach. That's how it went down for me and that's how other spots in Philly lose their ratings to the new King of Cheesesteaks, Leo's Steak Shop. And it looks like the end of an era of making that pilgrimage to Roxborough for cheesesteaks. Folcroft is the new center of the universe for Philadelphia's favorite sandwich.

I'll give them 3.5 stars, but rounding up. The large cheesesteak is as long as your forearm. It's good old fashion beef, cheese, peppers, and bread. The neighborhood is so-so, there are only picnic tables outside seating, and no bathroom. And you REALLY feel like washing your hands after eating this very messy sandwich. Parking is also a bit tough as there is only the residential street parking, and they have all sorts of limitations on no parking in the afternoon.

Standing room only inside the joint but there was picnic tables outside and you can always take them to go. My boyfriend wished that there was a bigger menu but he's chalking that up to not being a local.

It had been years since I stepped foot in this place. I've been in this area most of my life. If there's one thing I know about this stretch of Chester Pike, it's that businesses don't last long here. Turn back the clock 10 or 15 years, and you will see a lot of businesses that changed hands or aren't here anymore. But Leo's is the same. It's always been here. It's never changed. This is a good thing. I'm happy to see that they still load the meat up like crazy. They don't serve the large sandwiches by default anymore. (I swear the regular sandwiches here used to be as big as your arm. I'm sure that was no longer sustainable.) But their regular sandwiches will fill you up like a belly buster. Quality... It's still a damn good cheesesteak. The meat is overly juicy. The cheese melts perfectly. It's wonderful. Best cheesesteak in Delco? Without a doubt. Complaints? Well, they'll never get 5 stars from me because it's just cramped, it's inconvenient to park, if the weather is bad you can't use the tables (and they're no great shakes if it's good either), and I swear my cheesesteak was so hot on the inside, it burnt my mouth to the point that skin came off behind my teeth. Is the pain worth it? Oh yes it is. I took a couple of Italian hoagies home for later. The wife enjoyed hers. I enjoyed mine the next day. They do pile on the hoagie meat. And the aforementioned sandwiches as long as your arm can be had if you order a large. The cheesesteaks are far better than Pat's or Geno's in the city. They may be on par with D'Alessandros, but the roll they use here will never be on par with a place like John's. So 4 stars in comparison to those places is about right. The look of the place won't impress you. But the food will.

So I go in there and order a large cheese steak with mushrooms, grilled onions, and green peppers. When I got it, I surprised about how huge it was. It took me 3 days to finish it off. It was as good on the third day as it was on the first. You can feed a family of four with a large. If you are anywhere near South Philly, it is mandatory that you stop in and get the best cheese steak in the world.

I would say that this is probably one of the better cheesesteaks around town and I am glad that this place isn't far away from my house. I also got a Turkey sandwich and that was amazing. Everything was unbelievably fresh, a little pricey, but definitely worth it because you get really full. If you aren't too hungry you can definitely split a small sandwich with someone and be satisfied.

Leo's has the best steaks and Hoagies in a 10 mile radius at least. I've been going here since I was a kid and it's always been the same quality. Everyone says the sandwiches are massive - and they are. And delicious. Like most Delco steak shops, they use quality meat and I don't think the dreaded "whiz option" even exists. (Pretty sure that's just for tourists and drunks from Cherry Hill.) You also don't have to order "wit or without," you are allowed (encouraged even) to speak like a normal human being. They also have a large Herr's and Tastykake selection, so you have all your major food groups under one roof. No beer though. I'll take Leo's over my two city favorites: Shank's and Cosmi's.

Having lived in Philly a few years now, I've tried my fair share of cheesesteaks. After recently being disappointed with Pats, my (now old) go to, I figured I would begin the search for a new love. Ladies and gentlemen, I have found it: Leo's. Ordered a large to split with fried onions and American cheese. Bread was extremely soft, meat flavorful and diced well, cheese soaked throughout. My perfect cheesesteak, which didn't leave me feeling overly full/disgusted with myself although it was very large. Priced well and the service was great. I will definitely be back!

This place is just awesomeness in a sammich factor. We walked in an the smell of grilling sliced beef, cheese and onion permeates your clothes. There's really nothing else to describe authentic Philly goodness. The sammiches are humongous, 18"' and the crew is great. A young grade school girl stopped in and they gave her a homemade pretezel. I thought it was a great idea to build goodwilll for the community. A couple bonues, they will order to travel, meaning the cook the steak and wrap the bread separately... I packed two in my suitcase.. The other one is on my carry on and it's driving the passengers nuts who are below the overhead bin :).. I'm laughing..

Steak was big, juicy and delicious. More gristle than I'd like to see. Biggest problem I had...the guy who cooked my steak followed me outside and smoked a cigarette in front of the place, right where I was sitting and eating. When he was finished and went back inside, the owners came out the back door to smoke. Hit from both sides, not very appetizing.

Philly Cheesesteak Hunt 1/3 This place was amazing. I stopped in because it was close to the airport and the reviews were good. Once there, I noticed they were received the best cheesesteak award from Zagat a couple years. (Not consecutive, but multiple years is quite the accomplishment in the Coty of brotherly Love). The only seating option was outside on picnic tables but the heavy rain prevented that from being an option. So I ordered take out with a hope it would still decent once I arrived at the hotel. It did! The cheesesteak was juicy and there was a lot of it. I ordered it with Provolone and pickles. You could not see either because there was so much meat. It was definitely a good sandwich. The sandwich, chips and a soda were $10. They accept debit cards for totals over $10 and are open until midnight on Saturdays.

I love the steaks here, but it is the Tuna hoagie that I go for almost all the time. Real tuna - not that chunk crap. And the pickles - fabulous. The roll, the way its supposed to be. Crisp on the outside and soft in middle. It is the best tuna hoagie I have had in the area.

We got lost coming home from a wedding this past weekend (damn you, lost satellite reception!) , which mostly sucked because we were tired and hungover and were stuck sitting in the car for forever navigating tiny back roads. BUT, it was all worth it, because our accidental detour had us driving right through Philly at dinnertime, which means I could try my very first-ever authentic Philly Cheesesteak! We picked this place based on the fact that it was relatively easy to get to from the highway. I was a little worried that our unscientific selection method would result in some crappy tourist trap or imitation shop, but we hit the jackpot. Definitely the best cheesesteak I've ever had. So, so, SO GOOD. And huge portions so I even had leftovers to bring home after stuffing myself silly. Informal outdoor seating was nice after having been stuck in the car, and the staff were super nice.

If only they had more than one sad little picnic table out front....While others wait in line to get yelled at its more famous brethren in South Philly, Leo's has the best steaks in Philadelphia. I like mine with provolone and onions, but what you do is up to you and Leo's can help. They also have hoagies and all the various chips. You can even park with little effort, which is good because, depending on the weather, you may be eating in your car.

This is the type of place you get the best food from in my opinion. Small, family run business. I grew up in philly and have my fair share of cheese steaks. I now live 2 minutes away from Leo's making it very difficult not to be 400 pounds lol Very nice sized steak for a fair price. Tastes great too! Far above the tourist traps in philly that NONE OF THE LOCALS GO TO...Me and my brothers usually get the 12 inch with fried onions mayo and mushrooms. I will continue to eat at Leo's until my arteries close. And I'll also continue to wonder why people go to places like Geno's to get an OVERPRICED AVERAGE cheese steak.

This place rocks!!! I flew for the first time to Philadelphia and I craved an authentic Phili Cheese steak. I yelped this joint and saw it had great reviews so I'd give it a try. The place is in a pretty bad neighborhood but I felt safe. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They suggested I get the tree e cheese steak with the works. It had peppers, pickles, and ketchup. The steak was super moist and the best cheese steak I have ever had. People from this area think highly of Genos but this place should be numbered amongst the best.

I really wanted to like this place, I have been waiting all my life to try a true Philly cheesesteak and finally got to have it. It was alright, but soggy and just did not do it for me. I give a solid 3 stars, the food was so-so but the people there were so very nice and I feel like I got to check something off of my list. Friendly service, awesome food. Our first time in Philly so we were on the hunt for authentic cheesesteak near the airport. This place does not let you down. Hot and fresh - they make it anyway you like it. The sweet peppers are a nice addition. Bonus - they have an 18" cheesesteak, not to be trifled with!

An outstanding cheesesteak. Flavorful meet and a lot of it. The roll got a little soggy, but somehow that didn't matter. Cheese was properly melted and in the right proportion to the steak. Unfortunately we don't spend a lot of time in Fulcroft, but will try to make it a point to stop by when we do.

I'm vegetarian, so I have not eaten here. However, I did get a couple cheese steaks with mushrooms for my parents and in-laws when they visited. They smelled really great. My folks really enjoyed it, so I'm giving it 4 stars because everyone was very satisfied. :) They all got a large sandwich each, but these sandwiches are huge. The large could feed 3 normal people, or perhaps 2 incredibly hungry people... or a teenage boy. ;-)

Simply put, this place is yummy! Brought a super large (shared between 6 people) Chicken Cheese Steak hoagie and it was very filling, the children was awesome, the place is clean and service is polite and quick. It's really a get in get out place and they do not sell sides of anything, just cheese steaks and hoagies. My steak was a total of $18.75. Not bad when your feeding 6 people.

We visited Leo's during an anniversary trip to Philly (ok, not Cabo but close enough to the dirty Jerz where we lived at the time, that we didn't have to put a lot of time and effort into the trip). Why did I take my wife to Leo's? Because Bon Appetit or Food & Wine ran an article a few years back on 10 Best Philly Cheesesteaks in the US and Leo's was one of the chosen few. That plus they decided to publish for the issue, a full-page color photo of said Leo's cheesesteak (which I had in my pocket, folded, just for this trip, having saved it for a couple years). It was one beautiful large and in charge cheesesteak. Bottom Line: I whipped out my 8.5x11 color glossy, unfolded it and said, we want your Philly cheesesteak exactly like this. Possible? They all smiled and said hell yes that's how we do it. 5 minutes later we were lugging the most delicious, overstuffed piece of amazement out to the picnic table and knocked off about 2/3 of it. It was tender, lots of meat and cheese, plus peppers, and a great hoagy bread. The meat was seasoned perfectly, and moist, loaded with great aromas. I think this sandwich must have weighed 1.5-2 lbs, no exaggeration. Cost was about 10 bucks I think. We ate the remainder that night in our downtown hotel room.... It's a carryout store mostly, but it's gotta be famous in the area. No atmosphere but who cares? Go outside and eat it at the picnic table! I recommend highly.

After all the 1-star reviews lately, I felt it was high time to write about a place that gets it right! Leo's has, without a shadow of doubt, the *BEST* Cheesesteak in the area, if not the region. These steaks make Geno's and Pat's look like a pile of garbage - seriously! This is a small take out shop with a couple of picnic tables outside. My best suggestion: If you've never been, give it a try. Do yourself a favor, don't call it in ahead of time to have it ready to be picked up -- get the full experience of waiting for it in the store (It does not take long). The smell of the cooking meat and the sounds of the cooks pulverizing it on the grill -- awesome. If there is no parking when you pull up, don't get discouraged, the flow is constant and you won't have to wait long. Lucky me -- this place is right down the street! Enjoy!

If you want an authentic Philly cheesesteak, come down to Southeast Delco and be prepared for the cheesesteak you'd see in the dictionary if you looked up "cheesesteak!" Delicious...I'm in Chicago, and I ate mine...in Chicago A co-worker of mine went to Philly this past weekend and knew how I've been dying to get out there to try a real cheesesteak. She went to Leo's and loved it so much, she claims she brought back 20 frozen steaks. Apparently I made the cut Threw it in the skillet as soon as I got home yesterday and I loved it! I can't imagine how good they are fresh and live. 4 stars but it wasn't a live sandwich, so I'm giving 5 stars because I assume being there for a fresh one is worth an easy star I don't understand why we can't get a real Philly place out here. Both cities are known to have great cheap food. Both cities should have Italian beef, steaks, and rabe sandwiches No rivalry necessary. Too many people get hung up on Beef vs steak sandwiches They are both fantastic and should be enjoyed by all. I need to get my ass to Philly ASAP Great job Leo's...thanks for offering a frozen option Go Hawks!!!

This place is awesome!! Especially for the price. A little ways from the city, but totally worth it. The portion size is out of control and I love it! Me and my boyfriend ordered the whole cheesesteak with provolone mayo and onion for only $15. We could have have shared it between four people. My only suggestion is if you are getting mayo order light mayo. They are very generous, and it was slightly too much! Other than that, this place rocks!

Their hoagies are huge and yummy too, but I'm a cheesesteak fiend.

PEOPLE this is as good as it gets. No one in the world has anything on Leos cheesesteaks. I love this place and get 5 cheesestaks to go everytime I go here. Here is what I love. hey mix and cheese in with the fine diced steak so every bit you take has both in it. Some places you go they put the cheese on top or the bottom of the roll and I hate that. The size of the cheesesteak is so bug you have have to throw it over your shoulder to walk out with it and I love it!! the steak they use is top notch anytime Im in the area or even an hour away I make it here. I'm stuck working out in Folcroft area, and I've tried just about every steak place in the area at this point. I think Leo's is my favorite place in the area. They load up their steaks and put it on a good roll. As others have mentioned, these things are well packed. I'm actually a bigger fan of their Italian though than I am of the steak. Everything is sliced fresh per (apparently) the Philly standard, and then piled high on the roll. The meat is a solid 1" thick at minimum, and for the price you just can't beat it. If you're a fan of Italian subs, you shouldn't be disappointed here. This place is takeout only; they have some tables outside, but on a cool/cold day, you're not going to sit outside. This is a pick up and dash kinda joint, so just be expecting that; there's not even a side counter to elbow up and chow. They're quick here though so you'll be in and out in less than 10 minutes, probably less than 5. Lastly, they have a decent pop selection...as long as you don't like diet. If you want sugar free, you're just about SOL with the exception of Coke/Pepsi.

This was my very first real Philly cheesesteak and I must say it was a life changer! Visiting from Texas I was seriously excited to try this world famous sandwich, but like most yelpers I wanted the real deal, the off the tourist path local spot and an did I find it! First the smell greets you outside and is a great preview of what's inside. The shop is nothing fancy but the staff ws nice and welcoming. I ordered the cheesesteak with fried onions , mayo, ketchup, and sweet/hot peppers on the side. The portions are massive, the large can seriously feed a family of 4! The steak is well seasoned and no wiz here! You get great quality cheese! This is a to go shop but so worth it when you get home and can make out with that brotherly love sandwich in private. best cheesesteak I've ever had, period. Left Philly when I was 18 and have never found anywhere that even came close! When I was younger, my parents would get extra rolls because they came with so much meat that we could make 2-3 out of one large. I'm a west coaster now and I longggg for the day I get to have another Leo's cheesesteak! I wish they would fit in someone's luggage! :)

Fanfrickintastic! Whether you call it a sub, a hoagie, a sammich, or anything else, this is top shelf eating on a budget. I was visiting a customer on Chester Pike yesterday, and I did the eenie meenie minie mo thing with all the hoagie places. I guess the hoagie gods were with me yesterday, because this place was fantastic! The young lady at the cash register was very friendly and helpful, and the gentleman at the grill said he'd be happy to heat my small turkey and provolone hoagie. The atmosphere was a tad cramped, but noticeably family run, and noticeably pleasant. I decided to add a few medium-sized bags of unusual flavored Herrs chips, a bottled water, and even a pack of onion dip for later. The entire bag of food was only 15 bucks. Hard to beat. I had planned on driving all the way back to Maryland to eat, but the sub smelled so good, I pulled over and sat in the parking lot of a larger chain restaurant to eat. I'm sure that breaks a rule of "eating protocol" somehow, but I didn't really care at that moment . . . . and it was a fairly empty parking lot. When I unwrapped the multiple layers of protective sandwich paper surrounding hoagie, my immediate reaction was that they had given me a large hoagie by mistake. This thing felt like it weighed 5 pounds. If that was a small, the large must be the size of my car. It was just hot goodness covering lettuce and tomato and pickles and mayo. I managed to spill mayo all over my shirt (several times, in fact), but it was totally worth it. This place rocks! I may just starve myself one day and make the 2 hour drive for a large one. It will be worth the drive!

Considering that Philly has the lamest cheesesteaks I have ever tried, this place is very good. For starters, if you dont know already, the Large is 18"!!! I guess I should of asked when i ordered. Anywho... the amount of meat is insane, good flavor, lots of cheese, soft bread. FInally!! A place that doesn't use two day old bread. Definitely beats all the other places I tried in Philly.

BEST CHEESESTEAK EVER!!! Oh, I've got friends who are dedicated to their traditional steak places in the city, but the reality is, the best Philly cheesesteak is not in Philly. It's in Delco. The service is friendly and fast considering the amount of sandwiches they're making. Even the wait is fun, watching real professionals at work. Be warned; their large sandwiches are LARGE. They can feed multiple people. The only seating is on outside picnic tables. Parking is on the street. It is SO worth it. Only one problem; their cheesesteaks are so good you might not notice that their subs are also the best around. Do yourself a favor and get a steak for now, and a sub for later.

This is hands down my favorite to get a cheesesteak. A large is enough to feed 2 people and so worth the price. One thing they do not have is whiz. I'm a huge fan of cheese whiz on my cheesesteak, so when I went there and ordered my cheesesteak I was a little taken by surprise when they told me "no whiz here". I ordered American on it and was even more surprised at how amazing it was. Full of flavor. Tons of cheese. Perfect!! If you haven't tried one yet you HAVE to try it ASAP. You will not regret it.

As a first timer in Philly with little time to spare I checked this out after flying in. It was close to the airport and nice reviews on yelp. In my opinion this place was overhyped as the sandwich was not very delicious, I thought the meat was a bit gamey and the cheese had a yellowish glossy look to it which reminds me of imitation cheese (this is just speculation), the taste was also bland. I couldn't finish the cheesesteak but it was a quite a large serving for a small.

I liked the cheese steak hoagie I ordered. It was good. But great - on the level of Steve Prince of Steaks or John's Roast Pork - no. The roll is ok. You get a huge portion of meat. I found a chunk of gristle in one bite you should not discover in lean, trimmed steak. The people are nice, the place clean.

I was looking for a place to meet a friend SW of Philly, and I saw this place had 20 reviews with ALL five stars. I've never seen that before, so I had to try it. Well, now it's 21 reviews with all five stars, and counting. The bread tasted like it was made fresh that day on the spot. The steak was seasoned really well and is the first time I've had a cheeselesssteak (as is my fashion) that wasn't dry. Other places rely on the cheese for flavor and moisture. You won't miss it here. They also loaded me up with mushrooms, peppers, and onions - for free! Great value, everything tasted great. I have decided I will be stopping here every time I come that way and will tell everyone I can about it. Best cheesesteak anywhere, period. I have been back more than once and get the same great food every time. I would be fat and broke if I lived near here.

This place gives Gino's and Pat's a run for their money. Steak sandwich is off the hook here, the bread is yummy the meat is also delicious and they use provolone and the famous whiz so don't expect it. Great place I recommend. Hole in the wall place is the best spots let me tell ya.

Leo's is definitely one of the hidden gems of the greater Philadelphia area. It isn't as well known as Geno's or Tony Luke's, but I have to say that it tops them in the quality and taste of their cheesesteaks! Their bread tastes fresh, the streak is nice and juicy, and there's a good variety of different drinks to choose from (last time I went, I had a cherry soda. YUM!). If you're in Philadelphia and want a true cheesesteak, stay away from Geno's and come here!

Man these steaks are monstrous. My wife and I split a large and then lugged a large italian grinder back to Denver. Awesome hot sweet peppers, tons of chip selection and a friendly staff. Fairly close to the airport if you're on your way to or from West Chester. They'll wrap it for travel for a small fee.

Best steaks in Delco. Back when I could still eat bread, their bread was fantastic. To make a cheesesteak good enough to eat without a roll, you need great cheese and really great steak. Leo's has it. Takeout only.

Definitely one of the better Philly cheesesteak places I've eaten at. The large is pretty massive and I only got a regular and that was more than enough to fill me up. It is take-out only I believe but you can eat outside on the picnic tables they have. Careful of the cheesesteak, it's extra messy/greasy, but I'm assuming most cheesesteaks are messy in general to eat. The pricing was fair and they had a lot of fresh ingredients along with the steak meat being pretty good. This is definitely a place I would visit instead of heading into Philly looking for a cheesesteak since there seems to be plenty of places to fill that void if you're craving for a cheesesteak in the Delco area.

If you love steak burgers, this is your spot due to how they mince and cut the meat up. It's not the typical thin sirloin found in Delaware Valley area cheesesteak shops. Nonetheless, it's still quality sirloin but if you are eating it on the go (say in the car), IT WILL BE MESSY. Please, do yourself a favor and bring napkins because you'll need them. Lots of them. In terms of the sub... the quantity is a big plus and you'll get a lot for the money. However, I wouldn't go out of your way from Center City or PHL International though.

On a Sunday when the family couldn't decide what to eat, I chose Leo's. We bumped into a family friend who had just got himself a hoagie, I waited on my cheese stake. They have seating outside, great for the summer coming up. They also have a minimum on credit/debit. They have a variety of snacks, so if you don't wanna try anything else but a sandwich you have options. The steak was was very hot. The cheese was melted, the meat was finely chopped. Very good. The only thing is it didn't agree with my stomach, so that tells me that it may have been a bit too greasy for my stomach's liking. You were warned. To sum up, in the far future, I will go back.

Sometimes can be hit or miss depending on the cook. One question you won't ask is: Where's the beef? Since they pack on plenty of meat whether it's a cheesesteak or hoagie. If you go, you won't be disappointed.

When I lived in Folcroft, I asked my neighbor where the best place was to get a hoagie or cheesesteak and he recommended that I go to Leo's. My neighbor grew up in the borrough and has raised two kids here so I knew that I could trust his rec, and he was right. The only thing he didn't tell me was to order a small if the sandwich was just for me. The small is about $7 and is a foot long with about a pound of steak and cheese. The Large is around $13, 18 inches long, and has about 2 pounds of stuffing. They make everything to order, use fresh rolls and ingredients. Although some may say there these are just over-stuffed sandwiches, I disagree and say that if you have a cheesesteak craving, nothing will satisfy like one from Leo's. I also have gotten an Italian hoagie and they too are great.

I read about this place in the Inquirer years ago in a piece about the best steaks in the area, and if I remember correctly, this place won. For some strange reason, I woke up about 8PM today from a nap craving a cheese steak and my mind darted to Leo's after God knows how much time since I last thought about it. So I jumped in the car and took a drive down (from University City). Nice mom-and-pop feel and convenient to supplementary stores (Wawa, dairy drive-through). I gotta have my Wawa 1/2gal tea. The large steaks are HUGE. Longer than my forearm (including my hand) and I'm a pretty large guy, and thicker than a tuna can around. You're paying for that too, they're about $12 a piece, but considering they're about as long as (or maybe a bit longer) than 2 you'd get anywhere else, and packed MUCH more than any other place, it's about right. Pretty good. Ingredients were well above average (loved the cheese). I'm not going to say its the best I've had, but its up there. I probably should have asked for a dash of salt. All-in-all pretty darn good. Not worth another drive all the way down past the Sunoco refinery and the airport just for a steak, but worth stopping for if in the area. Yes I finished it (after a couple 5-10 minute breaks toward the end) and I was near-bursting.

ONLY 5 Reviews?!?! That is so wrong! This place deserves many more reviews, and only 5-star ones at that. I have been eating here since I was a kid. To this day, when I visit my family in Philly, I stop in for an italian hoagie. Actually, correction, if I am even with in 60 miles of Philly, I will make a detour to Folcroft, just to pick up some hoagies for the road, and some cheesesteaks as well. It's a real neighborhood staple. The owners are great, and really get to know their customers. I hope this place gets more praise on Yelp, they deserve it. Ask anyone that has lived in Philly for some time, and they will tell you, Leo's is the place to go.

When ever I'm home visiting my parents this is the ONLY cheesesteak joint I frequent! The sandwiches are huge & the meat is chopped to perfection. It's just minutes from the airport so if you're in town visiting with the urge to taste one of Philly's finest traditions don't waste your time at those other tourist traps (ie...Jim's Steaks, Geno's & Pat's). This place is the best around...hands down!

Hands down the best steak shop in the Philly area. They are PACKED with meat so if you don't have a big appetite make sure you order a small. We've lived in the area all our lives and we won't go anywhere else for cheesesteaks or hoagies (subs as anyone outside Philly calls them). We even take them to our kids in Michigan when we visit because they miss Leo's.
