I have always enjoyed Yocco's for their pierogies, but the dogs for which they are known are sub-par. Sure, they are inexpensive, but a dog with "everything" is a lousy-tasting, filler-packed, meatish-tube with chili (the soft, brown paste on the wet roll) and a dollop of sauteed onions. How is that everything? Sauerkraut? Mustard? Relish? None of these are included, so it would be more accurate to say it is a chili dog. I don't think it even had cheese. When they roll it up in wax paper to go, the everything dog in the bun is still thinner than a regular Nathan's frank. But again I stress the Mrs. T's pirogues make Yocco's an "I've been there, done that," stop. But be prepared for a massive stomachache. I dropped in for lunch today, and I feel wretched tonight.

As a former employee I can tell you they have high standards with regards to quality and cleanliness. It is definitely one of the best family owned hot dog joints I have ever experienced in the northeast. The downside is that their prices have sky rocketed since I worked there in High school over a decade ago. The other downside is that they only accept cash and don't seem to ever want to bring itself into the 21st century. There are many times that I am in the mood for Yoccos but I do not stop there because I do not carry cash on me. In the recent years they have put ATM's in some of there stores, but when you take in the high cost of food plus the ATM fees, it because too expensive for a fast food joint.

Pott's or Yocco's? Yocco's, hands down. Does anyone else think the dogs taste better after they have been wrapped up in the paper for a bit or is it just me? And make sure to ask for extra sauce.

After being blocked on Rte. 78 by overturned truck my former love and I stopped for a quick meal here where it appeared in the local newspaper for their Chili sauce as "The Hot Dog King." The chili sauce on hot dog is good as oppose to the traditional mustard or ketchup. This restaurant's appearance is shabby yet easily accessible on the highways. Yocco's is the Nathan's hot dog king in Fogelsville, PA.

I think the novelty of this place has worn off for me... Inexpensive food served with a smile... For me, it's something that we don't have where I live. Small, cheap hot dogs for a little over a buck, greasy fries, perogies, some form of cheesesteaks. burgers, etc.... Very busy place. But much better hot dog can be found inside of Sam' Club for the same price... A place that you have to stop at once just to say that you've been here.. But definitely not bumping anyplace else as a favorite place for lunch.

I went to this place after going to Dorney Park and my gf's sister recommend we try this! We three altogether ordered 6 hotdogs and 2 large Pierogis. First of all, their sides are great. There aren't all that many places that serve deep-fried pierogies as a side order. Yocco's makes a mean pierogi. They are crisp on the outside and full of soft creamy potato on the inside. My only complaint is that the portions should be larger. And of course, the dogs are what they are famous for. Have I had a better dog? Sure. But these are good. It's the sauce (chili sauce) they put on them that makes them worth buying. And they also don't cost a lot, so it's a nice, quick, cheap meal that hits the spot every time. Needless to say, every time I am in the Allentown area, I'll go to Yocco's. Google them to find their website so you can check out their other locations and the food is the same at all of them. Make sure you have cash as they don't accept credit cards!

I live in NYC and stopped by while driving through on 78. This is not a hipster or trendy hot dog so don't go expecting Wagu sausages in an organic hand-made bun. Do expect a very good simple hot dog with onions, mustard and a thin dry but tasty chili sauce. The chili sauce was quite good and much more like a rub than a sauce. Pierogies and french fries were crispy and hot. Meal for two was $10. I'd go again.

A Lehigh Valley legend, Yocco's never changes AND WE LIKE IT THAT WAY! People new to the area might not "get it" at first, but those of us who have moved away from the "Lehigh Wally" and come back from time-to-time, tend to see places like Yocco's as comfort food without the outrageous attack on our cholesterol. They're another family-owned business and that's reason enough to at least give them a try, but they've also been around for more than 70 years so they must be doing something right. Their hot dogs are not the monsters you find at 7-11 or some other place that shouldn't be able to sell hot dogs without a license, so get more than one.

It's not that good. The chili dog was very small and the bun was hard. There was almost no chili. Not impressed.

the hot dogs at yocco's are mediocre do not go with high expectations and you will not be disappointed

After passing through and visiting the Lehigh Valley from Reading area for many years - I finally stopped. The best part was the price, can't really complain there - less than 5 bucks for a dog, fries and soda works for me. The food on the other hand was quite awful - and I honestly don't understand where the reputation comes from. The hot dog was simply a regular Hatfield dog you can buy anywhere, then they to cooked into shriveled oblivion and put on an soggy gooey bun. I realize a good dog often comes on a steamed bun, but this was a little overboard. I asked for "everything on it" and received a smidge of chili sauce, mustard, and maybe a few specs of onion. Like I said, the dog was wrinkly, the bun was gross, and the sauce was bland. The crinkle cut fries were passable, but that's not why I was there. I guess this place in a bit of an institution, but I honestly can't figure out how this place get's such good reviews. I'd hate to see how these folks rate a bad hot dog. On the plus side - the place was quite clean.

Hot dogs with a side of pierogis? My little Polish heart thanks you. Not my arteries though ...they hate your guts;) Never a wait, just polite enough staff, and clean tables. Chow down.

I do like this place and will go back. The price and quick service is awesome!! I must say I liked the hot dogs but was hoping for more. I ordered a cheese dog with onions and mustard. It was like they were running short on everything but the bun. I had to go back and ask for more mustard. That aside the place isn't bad and especially for the price I was not going to complain anymore that I have to ask for more mustard!
(4)Frank W.
Given the hype and multiple reviews, this place was a disappointment. The dogs were only slightly above being thrown out. For the same price I've had better dogs, better buns, better chili sauce and better service.

Maybe my rating is inflated, but I just can't get over $1.24 hot dogs! Can't find that in D.C. We stopped here, partially as a joke, on our way to a vineyard tour. I'd never heard of it, and it has a funny logo. The only thing that I tried was the Yocco dog, a hot dog with mustard, chili sauce, and onions. It was tasty. I wish that there were Yocco's closer to us.

This is a Lehigh Valley classic. When I was away at college, my dad used to send me care packages of Yocco's. They have boxes ready to go for sending through the mail. Every time I go back to LV to visit my dad, I try and take a trip to Yocco's. The only order you need to know - 2 Yocco dogs with everything (chili sauce, mustard, and onions) and an order of pierogies. The Yocco dogs are great. The secret chili sauce is tasty and has just right amount of kick to it. The pierogies are crispy with just the right amount of salt. I've been to Pott's... they are good, but they are no Yocco's. I now live in the NYC area and have even been to the original Nathan's in Coney Island. Yocco's can give them a run for their money.

What a dump this place is. The service is horrendous. Will not come back to this location.

First off the people were VERY nice and polite, don't get the comments on service. The food is alright, fries were better than I expected and they give a lot for the kids meals.
(3)David H.
Ok place to try if you want something a little different. They don't take any plastic which is a little silly in 2014. The biggest problem is the attitude. I try them every couple years and always seem to get the same prick. He's rude, acts like the customers are a chore. It's really quite ridiculous. The food is also usually smashed into the bag. Flavor wise the chili sauce does have a neat little kick. I'll try a different location. ..eventually.

Cash only on a travel route is a great way to lose business. Being 2015 and businesses are starting to accept bit coins I find it hard to believe that a place still operates as cash only. Get with times yocco's! You just lost five hungry travelers.
(1)Erica C.
If you like the cheapest crap from Sam's Club served to you by the deeply depressed, then this is the place for you!
(1)Allen B.
If you're in the Lehigh Valley you must try these dogs. It's a true staple of how they're made in this region and they don't make them like this anywhere else! Not as good as a Chicago dog in Chicago but they definitely has a place of their own.
(4)Elizabeth C.
CASH ONLY!! Well worth it! Go up to the counter and yell over your order: 2 dogs, regular, no onion, 2 large pierogies, 2 chocolate milks. Reminds me of college!
(5)John F.
I look for hot dog joints wherever I go. Yocco's stacks up with the best. Introduced our friends to Yocco's today. They loved the taste and the fact that you can eat a Yocco's chili dog without mess. This is the ultimate cheap and cheerful lunch! Fast and friendly service, too.
(5)Hannah S.
The pierogies and fries are my favorite food! And the hot dogs aren't bad either but I have no idea what's in that sauce! Note: CASH ONLY!
(5)Geoffrey K.
Cheese dogs w/ everything, large pierogi and three small chocolate milks. That's my go-to order. The hotdogs are crispy and come with mustard, onion and their chili sauce. Pierogis are crispy and the chocolate milk is best out of cartons. Legendary in Allentown. 'Nuff said.

I must have driven past here 50 times looking at the billboard with the image of the devilishly evil looking Hot-Dog King that beckoned from I-78 tempting me to Yocco's. Finally I gave in and even though they are Pennsylvania weird compared to Gray's Papaya, I think I'm hooked. This is one of four Yocco's in the Lehigh Valley that have sprung from the original Yocco's in Allentown. The owners apparently are distant relatives of Chrysler's former chairman, Lee Iacocca, but due to the valley's problem with Italian pronunciation, the restaurant became 'Yocco's'. They are most famous for their Yocco-Dog. The dog itself is a quality hot-dog made by Hatfield's Meats. For the Yocco-Dog, a steamed locally baked bun's inner parts are slathered with mustard and chopped onions are sprinkled within the crevice. The dog is then dipped in Yocco's secret chili sauce, put in the bun and viola! - you have the Yocco-Dog. I wasn't too crazy about these dogs at first, but now I tend to crave them as in an addiction whenever I start getting near the place. Their cheese steak is pretty good, too. Again, quality meat chopped and grilled with diced onions. White American cheese is put onto a larger version of the steamed Yocco-Dog bun, the grilled meat/onion mixture's piled on and you can get a number of appropriate additions to it, all gratis. I, being a purist, just go for just the cheese, onions, and ketchup and it's pretty darned good! They have good fries, but the real unique treat at Yocco's is the deep fried pierogis. They serve Mrs. T's brand potato & cheese pierogies deep fried, two to a small order and three to a large. A Lehigh Valley thing I think, and they're really good so I always get some. The people who work there are great. Extremely efficient, unbelievably friendly and they always seem to be putting 110% into what they're doing. It must be a great company to work for because all the employees really seem to take pride in and believe in what they're doing. I just wish it was a little less expensive though. A cheese steak, a Yocco, a large pierogi and a small drink will run you around nine bucks or so. The quality of their ingredients is probably what drives the price up though so I'm definitely willing to pay extra for that. The Yelp map was a little bit whack. I have fixed it as of this review, however. All you need to know is that they're about 1/2 mile south of I-78 on Rt. 100. You can't miss 'em.

Delicious, simple, but always executed well and every hot dog I've had from here tastes just as good as the last. I'm glad I read the reviews on here and now know that you can ask for "extra sauce", if I lived closer I would be back at Yocco's tomorrow. My only wish is that they were inside Coca-Cola Stadium so I could eat a Yocco's dog while watching the Iron Pigs, but I don't think the Iron Pigs would sell any of their own hot dogs if that happened.
