Stopped by here two nights ago for a business dinner. The building is very nice inside and out. According to the staff it was an old horse barn that got quite the facelift. It has the rustic look while being very modern at the same time. The menu is small but there's just enough choices to keep anyone happy. Portion sizes are decent and the price is what you would expect to pay at a country club. I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare and it was done to perfection. Everything else on the plate was delicious, too. The wait staff was very helpful and bit funny to talk to. I'm sure they thought we were a bunch of strange people..being mostly from Texas. Overall I'm extremely pleased with everything and highly recommend this place if you're looking for a tasty meal.

We attended a member appreciation dinner at Golden Oaks yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the buffet. We have been members at this club since 1994 and have experienced many chefs. The restaurant has a new chef named Joe Orlando who we think is terrific. He started here in late September and has put out consistently good food. We are excited about the future for this restaurant.

Sunday brunch is where it's at! Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. A bit pricey but matched by the quality of the food and service. A nice special treat.

Just finished dinner with my parents. Food was decent... Fine but nothing special. Service was perhaps the worst I've experienced anywhere in the last decade. Drinks at the bar? 60 minutes to get 2 beers. At the table, 20 minutes from ordering wine to tasting wine. 40 minutes from finishing entrees to receiving bill (with no offer of dessert... As if). Manager took over our check finally, and offered no comps, no apology, nothing other than to tell us that it's our fault because we had a coupon. This was for dinner at 5 (FIVE) pm... Three tables in the place. Worst restaurant experience in Berks county. That's saying something.

We had dinner and drinks at the Restaurant at Golden Oaks recently. Four of us were very happy with the appetizers, dinners and drinks. We all shared asparagus crab soup and the cheese artichoke dip for appetizers (all awesome). Two of us had the mixed seafood grill entree, which was delicious. The seafood entree included some shrimp, scallops, crab cake and white fish and also came with asparagus and potaotes. My husband and a NY Strip Steak and he was quite satisfied with the flavor and it was made perfectly. The other gentleman in our group had chicken marsala and said it was also very good. We all shared a coconut cream pie for dessert. Service was great. We had a newly hired waiter, but he was very attentive and personable. To top off the nice dinner, Dave Cullen was singing and playing his quitar, which added to the already pleasant atmosphere. We will be back!

Great Food, everything from fantastic Certified Angus Beef Burgers at the bar to gourmet dishes, fillets and seafood in the dining areas. Awesome craft beer selection on tap and in bottles, extensive international wine list and great nightly drink specials. Friendly professional staff and a great venue for weddings and corporate dinners. A real gem between Reading and Allentown Pa..

What an amazing meal we had at Golden Oaks this evening complete with a super beer sampler to wash it all down. Everything from the crab cakes to the shrimp and white bean salad was perfectly prepared and the presentation only added to the whole experience. The wait staff was so helpful with our beer selections and really made us feel welcome. Definately a place you do not want to miss!
