Only donut shop I tried while I came through town. Shop isn't too large but offers a large variety of flavors (50+) I stopped in around noon and was able to get in and out in less than two minutes. Staff was friendly quick and attentive. I ordered a peanut butter donut. It held for my short drive. The donut was not too soft mushy or too stale. Balance donut packed with a good amount of peanut butter and peanut topping. First trip represented the local chain well. I would come back

Best donuts I've found in the area thus far. They have an awesome selection and everyone I've tried has been nothing short of amazing. I didn't even care for donuts that much before this place. Staff is great... no complaints on that front. The first time I stopped by, I made the mistake of ordering a half a dozen for my family, thinking that would be plenty. The box was empty by the time we got back home. They do a baker's dozen, so even a more convincing reason to buy extra. This is the closest location to me (based out of York), and it's still a 30 minute drive, so I hope they expand to the Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg/Carlisle area in the future.

Thank God I don't live near Maple Doughnuts or else my diet would be in trouble. They offer 50+ flavors of doughnuts and some are very creative: glazed cream, glazed custard, mint chocolate, pb&j, cream cheese, etc. The glazed cream is crazy good and reminiscent of what Krispy Kreme used to sell, even better than Krispy Kreme's really. This place really balances taste and creativity. Some of the fancy doughnut places get wrapped up in their own BS and forgot it's supposed to taste good too. Awesome doughnuts and glad it's 3+ hours away.

Oh Maple Donut. One of the best donut shoppes around...in Pennsylvania that is. Hubs is from PA. Naturally, a Maple Donut visit has to freaking happen when we visit. First visit was a few years ago and then we came back a week ago. Holy sweetness and sugar rush, if you don't pay this place a visit if you're on I-83, you be crazy. There is a donut for everyone!! Whatever you fancy, it's there for you. I love the peanut butter jelly donut, PB filled, and fruit filled donuts. Sugar rush for days. These donuts are extremely tasty, sweet and perfect. Breakfast sammiches are hot and tasty too. We brought a dozen back to Boston and shared the wealth that is Maple Donut with our friends and coworkers. PB caramel pretzel, fruity pebbles, lemon filled, PB and jelly filled, peanut topped and a few others. There were no complaints, just oohs and ahhs of sweet donut-y pleasure. Please visit. It's so worth it if you're in the area.

Delicious! A bit on the sweet side but my kids didn't seem to mind. I bought two dozen for my family of eight, but I could have got away with only a dozen. The donuts are large and filling. The kids liked the PB&J and the Fruity Pebble donuts. My husband and I liked the apple fritter. (Pop it in the microwave for a few seconds then top with butter--trust me!) With 50+ flavors we will definitely be back to try them all!

Great tasting donuts at an affordable price! The donuts are also good sized ( unlike Dukin donuts) and a large variety.

In going to review this place by comparing it with my favorite donut shop, dunkin donuts. Let me start with the coffee. Dunkin donuts blows maple donuts out the water in the coffee category.Hands down. How's that for detailed. When it comes to the donuts, maple donut has a way better selection and the donuts are tastier than DD. Just one more thing. The people at this location were very rude. I walked in and I don't here good morning not even how can I help you. So I say good morning, I tell them I want half a dozen. During the whole time I was there these people didn't say one word to me. Very awkward.

I hit this place up every time I drive north out of Baltimore. It doesn't matter the weather or who is in the car with me. It doesn't matter if said car-companions have been crying since Towson that they are hungry/thirsty/have to wee. Maple Donut is so good it's worth waiting for. The beauty of this location is it is so convenient off the highway, you literally cannot get any closer. You won't feel that pang of regret you normally feel when you get off the road and think of all those cars you just spent time and energy passing and now there they go, whizzing past. There is also a gas station and a KFC for the passenger who is complaining that they don't want donuts because its 8pm and they haven't had dinner yet. Baby. On to the grub. I've only ever had the donuts and coffee here and both are AWESOME! I believe that they have other locations but I've never spent any time in this part of PA so I can't say for sure. don't be deterred by the exterior, they aren't super flashy, but I kinda like that. I appreciate that they've done well enough over the years that they don't have to do anything else to succeed but throw up a few highway billboards and staff a darling grammie at the counter to get me hooked. well done!

Wow I saw a sign on the highway and I had to stop here with my family. I worked in a bakery for 5 yrs so I'm picky. This place blows Krispy Kreme and Dunkin doughnuts out of the water. So many fantastic choices. I sampled the maple bacon and chocolate peppermint. There were so many options it was tough to pick. They have a wide selection of drinks as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches but the real draw are the doughnuts. This place is open 24/7 how nice is that?. If you are in the area or on your way somewhere else give this place a try

If you like sweet donuts (like I do), you'll love Maple donuts. My favorite is the apple fritters, cinnamon buns, and white icing with sprinkles. They honor competitors coupons!

Cannot pass this place by when I am heading up 83 and approaching Harrisburg. Go with the namesake Maple donuts. You can't beat them. Be sure to warm them a few seconds in the microwave. Out of this world!

Glad I finally tried this place. The workers were friendly and happy to make recommendations. Great price for a dozen donuts that are absolutely delicious and fresh. They even threw in an extra donut. Will definitely be going back soon.

Is this real life? As a donut fiend and lover of all things Pennsylvania, this place is like a fantasy world. Located immediately off of I-83 heading north between Harrisburg and York, it is an almost mandatory stop anytime making the drive from DC to NEPA or Upstate NY. First of all, the atmosphere is "Pure Pennsylvania." By that I mean it is plain and simple and wholesome. It is the same now as it was probably the moment it opened 40 years ago. The menu board shows your selection of baked goods and some basic sandwiches. There is nothing artisanal or trendy in here, and that's part of the charm. The wonderful brown and orange tones that were probably modern in 1972 when it was made play second fiddle to the stacks on stacks on stacks of donuts that draw your attention immediately when you walk in the door. You have a choice of some 40+ varieties of donuts-- such a toasted caramel coconut, peanut butter cup, candy-crusted, and of course the classics like Boston Creme, glazed, and powered. Then there are muffins and cruellers and long johns (eclairs). Coming from DC where there is all kinds of hype about donuts for $2.50 each, I'll take my 99c Maple Donut any day of the week. Or you can get a baker's dozen for $8. You don't have much choice when it comes to coffee-- but this really isn't the sort of place you'd get anything other than a cup of black. But for me, some whole milk is the perfect accompaniment to a donut (or two). Also, the motto for Maple Donuts is "We Specialize in Holes." That's what she said?

I had the powdered sugar and a glazed/vanilla filled one. Both were pretty good. Their donuts are dense/thick (think pound cake) and the dough itself is not super sweet like Krispy Kreme. So they are like mini cakes in the shape of a donut. I'm impartial to donuts but if you are a fiend stop bye!

As I sit here right now craving a donut from Maple Donuts I had to share that they make the best donuts I have ever had!!!

I've loved Maple Donuts since I was a kid so when I started working close to this location, I was very happy. The donuts are just as good, if not better than I remember. There's a huge selection to choose from, and it's fairly inexpensive to get your breakfast fix. Or your after work fix. Heck, even your midnight snack fix! I haven't had to be in Etters overnight but this place is open 24 hours. I especially like that I can get an unglazed Boston Cream donut (no clear sugar glaze, just the chocolate frosting on top) here. You just have to ask for it that way, otherwise the clerk will give you whatever one they get first. The only thing I don't like is the customer service. I'm rarely greeted with a smile, the clerks seem like they don't want to be there, and they seem to get impatient if you need more than one minute to pick a donut.

This is a great near-interstate-side donut shop. It's open 24 hours (a HUGE plus) and has a very wide variety of flavorful donuts. The donuts are a little on the dense, dry side (buy milk, juice, or something), but good and not too sweet. The staff is a lot of fun also. Even if you don't see donuts on the shelves (which apparently occurs occasionally), stop in or roll through the drive-through -- they may be low at that particular time but always have prepackaged donuts from that day on a shelf that's just out of site of the window; sometimes in this situation the staff is willing to discount them for you.

This place is amazing. We call it 'doughnut heaven'. One of the first places I go when I'm home from Boston. A ridiculous number of flavors (at least 50, including 4+ kinds of coconut...). A dozen doughnuts costs you only 5 dollars, and actually includes a 13th doughnut taped to the top of the box for the one who picks them up to eat on the way home. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
