I tried this place out after seeing the Yelp reviews. Staff was friendly, food was pretty good (I had the chili burger), and it was an enjoyable atmosphere. I was asked several times if everything was to my liking, and the tone was as if a family member was asked. Great place that I will definitely visit many times again.

Enjoyed breakfast at the Zodiac Dinor in June 2015. I had the Galaxy which with the exception of frozen potatoes in a diner was huge and quite good. My one son got pancakes which were enormous. My wife enjoyed her large breakfast as well. Our waiter may have been one of the owners who was not the most friendly servers in the world. Bottom line is the food was good (except for the frozen potatoes), service was ok, coffee was full, and breakfast was well priced. Be advised the parking lot is small, so you may need to park on the street. Keep up the good work Zodiac Dinor. Get home style potatoes and you are a perfect five.

I AM A MOM & POP DINER FIEND WHEREVER I GO!!! I have been to many mom & pop stops up and down the east coast, and this one here is easily in the top three!! I appreciated the classic diner look, as well as the holiday theme (St. Party's Day). The service was very warm and welcoming, they definitely welcomed a first timer with open arms! As far as the food: I wanna start by saying that I was surprised to be offered honey with my tea. Usually it would have to be requested, but the waitress was on top of this, and it made me feel more at home! The food was everything I was hoping and then some!! The French toast had that at home crisp that I like, and the taste was just like if I were making them myself! I'm just gonna go ahead and jump on the bacon band wagon, haha. The taste was amazing and the texture was right on point! I will b back here, as long as I am in town!

I've been here a few times for breakfast and this place is great. Pancakes are huge, fluffy and delicious. The greek homefries are awesome. The decor is vintage and funky...super fun. Looking forward to coming here for lunch sometime soon. I would totally recommend The Zodiac over The Breakfast Place. Better portions and prices, plus you don't have to wait 45 minutes for a table.

Love. This. Place. Every time I'm at Jr's in Erie performing, THIS is my breakfast spot. Some of the best bacon I've had in the country. French toast is the bomb. Big portions. Vintage furniture. Cupcakes for dessert. Nuff said.

I really hate to give a totally terrible review...I always think there is SOMETHING nice about a place...but seriously, keep driving past this place. I was being a good sport because we were traveling from NY to KY and my husband found this place and thought the menu sounded fun. First of all, it looks about as bad on the inside as it does on the outside. The floor, tables, chairs...GROSS....really dirty. I like the concept of a retro diner, and the pieces of furniture were fun...but FILTHY! I continued to be a good sport....We ordered. The server was very eager to please and very sweet..... our food came...it was fine...and then....we were treated to the local loon....A clearly distrubed man entered and spewed on and on about his time in prison, how he was going to sue everyone..just ranting to anyone who would listen. We live in a time where I am not going to just smile and be polite....I am getting the heck out of a place where someone is acting crazy! So, we didnt even finish, we paid and left. Perhaps he was harmless....but I wasn't going to take that chance with my teen age son....not for some mediocre eggs.... The management did nothing to encourage this man to move on....he didn't even order anything...just walked around talking crazy talk. no thanks!!

Very good biscuits and gravy and I will echo the others by saying the inside was very cool. Definitely better than your average diner food. Been here twice so far and both times it's been very good.

This is a great place for breakfast - very good food and large portions. We've eaten here several times and each time we had a great experience.

Zodiac had great food and hugehugehuge portions for a not so shocking price. Definitely my kind of place. The omelettes were large, the banana bread French toast was uniquely delicious and all the other stuff I tried was pretty fab. If the place were better kept they could swing a 4. Friendly staff, but it didn't look like they had washed the floor in months and I swear I might have seen some cobwebs in the corner. Eeeeek.

Coming from the NYC metropolitan area, I'm a bit tough on restaurants, however, Zodiac isn't bad for what Erie has to offer. Their portions are relatively generous, especially their pancakes (3 per order but they're HUGE - like, size-of-your-head-huge). I ordered the spinach, basil, feta, and tomato omelette and though it tasted okay, my particular order was loaded with way too many tomatoes and spinach - so much so that I lost the flavors of everything else. The side of potatoes that came with it were seasoned well though still on the harder/undercooked side. I did love the two hearty pieces of toast that came with the meal. In addition to all this, I also shared an order of blueberry pancakes with a friend, and as mentioned earlier, the pancakes are huge. They appear to be fluffy and light with a surprising height, but in reality, they're sort of heavy. Ok... maybe really heavy. And though they didn't taste bad, I still feel like I ate a brick. The ambiance isn't bad - it's very much what you would expect out of a diner (or rather, dinOr, according to how they spell it). I would return though I'll be sure to try other items on the menu.

From the first time I spotted the Zodiac on my second day in Erie it went immediately to the Yelp queue. From the outside appearance this is my kind of place the name, the uniqueness of the building and the Best Breakfast in Erie sign all caught my eye. Inside the Zodiac is dark (the back-room at least) vintagey and a bit dirty. The menu is huge and I had a hard time deciding what to try. Really wanting to make sure pancakes were part of my meal, I went with the two eggs, 2 pieces of meat and 2 pancakes. I also added a side of home fries because the waiter said those are crispy and I am a sucker for crispy home fries. Mushy ones are just yuck! My pancakes were amazing! Dense, fluffy and I think I tasted a hint of vanilla. These were definitely the best things I had and some of the best I have ever tasted. I could only eat about 1 though because they are pretty hearty. The scrambled eggs were OK, nothing special the bacon was waay overcooked, completely hard and flat, not juicy or chewy. Home fries were solid. I think next time I will order the pancakes or the omelet. I will definitely be back to the Zodiac, there are so many interesting offerings on their menu for me to not stop back in. However, they could easily be a 4 or 5 star place if they did just a hint of renovation or even cleaning. The pie case in the front was filthy and the restaurant itself just doesn't seem that clean.

We have breakfast and lunch at the Zodiac Dinor and tonight we took advantage of the 2 for $20 dinners. Dinners included salad, entree, potato, fresh veggies and Desert. Salads were large with fresh mushrooms, green pepper, onion and home-made coutons. The entrees our party had were tremendous!-Bacon wrapped filets,Pork filets,Meatloaf and Chicken Alfredo. We tatsed each others entree and all were great We had Peanut Butter and Carrot Cake and they both were very tasty. Good food and good service are a great combo. I can't wait to go back and try more 2 for $20 specials!!!
