Cheap, quick, and everything you'd expect from a diner. The waitresses are fun, the people watching is prime, the milkshakes are delicious.

I was very disappointed on my first trip here. It has been so talked up. Cheap? Yes. Worth it? No. I got pancakes, they were alright. I got homefries with greek sauce. The Greek sauce reminded me of cat food, both in smell and appearance. Then I had to douse it in hot sauce to give it some flavor. Sigh. When I want Greek sauce and/or cheap breakfast, I will go somewhere else. There are just too many places here.

We went for breakfast and it's exactly what you'd expect of a diner. $10 for 2 meals and coffee and while nothing was amazing, it was a fairly priced, decently portioned, average breakfast. Would go back. They only take cash, so hit the ATM before you go.

Taki's is by far the best breakfast place in Erie, PA. Whenever I come back home to, I always try to go to Taki's for breakfast. It is a small restaurant, but the service is great and the atmosphere is friendly. I recommend trying their pancakes, which are amazing. Also their bacon omelet and home frys are delicious. If you happen to be in the Erie area, check this place out for a homestyle breakfast. Just know that the prices are cheap, but they don't take credit cards so make sure you have cash or use their ATM.

The best place to go for a decent cheap breakfast and a good cup of coffee. They have been in business for many years and the reason why is because they serve a filling breakfast for a low price. This is a place you've got to try.

I think the reason some people rate this so highly is because it's a local restaurant that's been around for a while. I ordered some chili that was not even average. It was this watery thing with beans and little beef. I also got a side of onion rings which was good. I don't know if it was what I got or what but the food definitely wasn't worth it, although the price was cheap. The place itself is very homey. If I wanted a casual lunch with a friend, this wouldn't be my first choice but it's not my last. This place is just very average. I don't see anything too special about it.

Yuck. YES, I understand this is a small family-run restaurant but come on? Can you serve good coffee at least? Everyone in Erie has some sentimental attachment to this joint ... I get it. But let's be honest: Place is: Dirty Cramped Food is: Bad. Really bad. Coffee is crap and the food is just blah. Fellow customers: Seem to reek of smoke ... BUT it's cheap ...

The secret greek dressing should stay a secret. I'm pretty sure there's some Cool Whip involved. Sweet. Desserty vanilla & cream flavored. Ruined the big bowl of largely unadorned shredded iceberg called Greek salad. We left both ours uneaten. 2x$4.99 down the compost.

My go-to breakfast place in Erie, especially for hangovers. Cheap, good food with a friendly staff.

I had breakfast here and it was terrible. Paper thin microwaveable bacon. Potatoes sucked and coffee was not horrible but not very good

On my way out of Erie to the airport, I stopped by this little breakfast/lunch diner for a quick bite. Not content with stopping by a fast food joint, I was not disappointed when I chose to pull up to Taki's. I was amazed at how CHEAP everything is on the menu! Granted... you're not paying for french bistro cuisine (hash homestyle potatoes, cheeseburger with chili on it, cole slaw) but somehow everything just worked in that greasy spoon waffle house-ish kind of way. the food definitely doesn't look high-brow, but then again it satisfies your hunger like a guilty pleasure. Maybe I was just starving on this particular morning, but Taki's really hit the spot in the same way a late night diner hits the spot after a night out on the town... Check out my photos of the food I had and the menu as well... Taki's is a family-run restaurant that appears to be an Erie institution... in fact, I sat at the diner bar up front by the cashier, and I think Taki himself was standing there. NOTE: This place is CASH ONLY so come prepared. If not, there is an ATM conveniently placed by the door.

I wasn't sure whether I should mark this place a 2 or a 5. You see, it's a mediocre greasy-spoon diner (or dinor, since you're in Erie) but that's EXACTLY what it's supposed to be! Wanna spend $2 for a chicken sandwich that is the chicken you get from the freezer section in the supermarket on a hamburger bun. DONE! Wanna spend about nothing for a grilled cheese sandwich or about $10 for a baker's dozen. DONE! (x 13) Want some superb food and great service without nicotine dripping down the walls - yeah, you should go somewhere else... If you want some INTENSELY MEDIOCRE food at 5 AM - DONE and DONE! Oh man, I miss this place.

This place is incredible. Incredible in the sense that you could probably eat one of everything on the menu front and back and somehow only pay $15. Get everything with Greek Sauce on it. Its amazing. Bring cash and an empty stomach. Its my favorite way to cure an Erie hangover.

A group of eight of us went to Taki's for breakfast one Sunday morning. We were seated quickly, even though it was crowded. Service was a little slow, but the waitress was so funny and helpful that no one minded much. Food was decent and very, very cheap. Not the best breakfast I've ever had, but considering the price we had no complaints. I had the omelet with cheese and sausage, home fries, and toast. The omelet was OK but could have used more cheese. Home fries were nothing special, but tasty. Coffee was diner quality (I expect awful coffee at a diner so no complaints there!) All around good diner experience. I'd recommend for a cheap, hearty breakfast.

Tried this place for the first time.....and really liked it! It's exactly what it seems, and doesn't pretend to be anything else: a great, albeit small, place for homemade breakfasts and lunches. Inexpensive, filling and freshly made food....perfect, especially with a hangover! You want fancy omlettes, quiche, or gourmet coffees? Go elsewhere. Taki's is old fashioned "stick-to-your-ribs" comfort food at a high level.

I have been going to Taki`s since I was eating in a high chair. It is a family owned special place for those of us that grew up in Erie. Out- of-towners may not appreciate we it but we love the non-spicy Greek sauce. It is unlikely that I will be able to eat here again as my parents are moving to Florida. I will so miss this place and wish the best to the Taki family. Thank you for the great food and service. We still miss Jill!!!
