We were looking for a place to eat that was walking distance to the Warner Theater and this was among those that popped up in Yelp. The menu looked intriguing so we figured we would try it out. One of the things I enjoyed most about the restaurant was the option to have almost all of the entrees in either small or large form. This gave the opportunity to choose smaller portions and try more items if that is what you desired. It is an interesting atmosphere. You almost feel like you are in an office space that they tried to make cozy, but yet somehow it totally works. The high backed chairs are super comfortable. There are not a large number of tables, but it did seem no one waited very long to get seated. The servers and owner are difficult to understand, so don't go expecting to be able to ask a lot of questions about your meal or meal options. It is likely they will not understand what you are asking. For example, we asked if there were free refills on the pop and we got a blank stare. He then told us "yes, we have pop" while both of us had pop on the table. It turns out (as we leaned from the other server the first one sent over) that they do in fact have free refills. And they were good about keeping the glasses filled. Also worth noting is that this is a BYOB establishment, so bring a bottle of wine if you are so inclined. Everything that we tried was tasty, but it was far from the best sushi or Asian cuisine I have ever had. I tried the Vietnamese Style Soup. I love Pho, so I figured t was Worth the try. It was tasty, but I'm glad they called it "Vietnamese style" rather than calling it Pho. The noodles were thinner and the broth had a slightly different flavor. They also had a large amount of basil already in the broth instead of allowing you to put it in on your own. The sushi reminded me of something you'd see at a Chinese buffet. It was fairly unimaginative and not creatively plated. That being said, I did enjoy it. I did NOT like the spicy mayo, though. It had too strong of a mayo flavor and I felt it detracted from the sushi rather than adding to the appeal of the entree. The "crunch" rolls were also different than I have ever experienced before. The "crunch" reminded me of a rice crispie. They were oddly intriguing. Overall a good dining experience and we enjoyed the variety of the menu.

Pho here is not Pho at all! It is nothing at all like pho. The people giving this place a good review for their pho have never had real pho let alone good pho. Do not come here for pho. I tried to come back for their shrimp Thai fried rice... When I got home to eat it, there was Only two shrimp in it.... I paid over $7 for it... I mean Really?!

The best option for noodles and vegetarian stir fry in Erie. The space is clean and comfortable, and the service severe and efficient.

This place is horrible, my whole family ordered different type of food, including fried rice, sushi, beef noodles and a whole fish with mix vegetables. The sushi was distasteful, the worst sushi I ever had. The salmon looked like it was left over for days and the tuna is even worst, it looked like it got ran over and rot for few weeks. Everything just so distasteful....

SAC is low key the best sushi restaurant in Erie. It's super clean inside, the portions are generous, and the service is great. Plus it's BYOB which is always a plus. All of the sushi is delicious and if you like spicy food try the fried rice, it's amazing.

I asked if they cooked with MSG. They said they did told, but told me they could cook anything on the menu without MSG. I ordered a Pho style dish and after only 2 bites I began to have a terrible digestive reaction brought on only by eating MSG ( and a large amount based on how quickly I reacted to it). I told the waiter what happened, he said it was not their fault, that the chef cooked it without MSG and they insisted I pay for my meal despite the fact I couldnt eat it.... not even a discount offered. I will NEVER eat there again and warn anyone else who has food sensitivities to avoid them.

The sashimi plate looked like chopped leftovers. The salmon was old and stale while the tuna had turned to rubber. All the food was terrible and i would never order it again. I would never come here ever again or recommend it to anyone. This place was so bad it's my first review on yelp.

Best fried rice I've had. Decent sushi. Really good prices. I ordered the small chicken fried rice and small shrimp dynamite roll which came to about 11$ and both dishes were pretty large portions. I wish Rochester, NY had a place that was similar to this restaurant.

Had sushi and noodles here 3 time now. Good for Asian cuisine in Erie. Fair prices. They have a gluten-free soy sauce.

For Erie, pretty decent and you cannot beat $4.65 Thai fried rice at a place not afraid to use some spice!!! Lots if variety and very clean.

The place is clean & nicely decorated. It was a classy-casual, quiet place for a Friday night date. A refreshing departure from the commotion and everywhere-TV-screens of the chain restaurants. The staff was not overly friendly, but they were attentive and courteous. We brought a bottle of white wine (no corking fee) and had the mixed sushi appetizer. It was good and EXACTLY like the popular sushi we get at a local grocery store. In fact, the guy running the kitchen looked very familiar from all of our years of buying sushi from the store. The presentation was nice and the portion for the price is just fantastic. We had the pineapple pork and the Thai crispy chicken entrées. Both were delicious and the portions are enough for two meals. I was almost scared off by one of the bad reviews, so our plan was to order an appetizer and feel the place out before ordering dinner. I'm really glad we tried it out and stayed. We'll definitely go again. :)

First things first - this is the only place in Erie you can get pho - except it's not REALLY pho. This is not actually a Vietnamese restaurant so the quasi-pho is actually listed on the menu as Vietnamese beef soup, but it's distinctly an imitation pho... and considering you have to drive nearly 100 miles to either Buffalo, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh to get some of the real stuff, it certainly is a welcome addition to the Erie cuisine. He does his best though in creating his imitation. It's not pho, but it's close enough for when I'm not feeling a two-hour drive for it. My girlfriend fell in love with the atmosphere - simple, classy, no hokey Asian decor - and she appreciated the cleanliness. The orange chicken she had was very tasty - big chunks of fresh chicken and a homemade sauce. The sushi is also fresh and tasty. It's slightly on the pricier side, but the service is friendly and quick, and it is worth checking out. It is a welcome addition to the Asian cuisine scene in Erie. Their main focus is fresh sushi and I look forward to going back to try it for dinner some night.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR SUSHI!!!! Come on people, 5 stars? This isn't The French Laundry. Seriously the most disgusting sushi we have ever experienced. Like I am so pissed right now. Rancid fish, tons of gross mayo drizzled all over, ice in our seaweed salad and veggie spring rolls smelled odd and tasted "off". We didn't even eat half of our order. I thought I had bad sushi at the place by the mall but this is 10 times worse. I bet we get sick. In fact they don't even offer nigeri or sushi makes sense now. I couldn't get my hamachi. This seems like a family run place and I feel bad taking a dig at their livelihood but the place was empty on a Saturday night at 7:00pm. There were 5 people eating in the entire restaurant, what a total ambiance buzz kill.

I signed up for yelp specifically to review this establishment. Earlier this month my boyfriend and I decided to try this place based on the raving reviews if my coworkers. W ordered kim chi, 2 meat plates, and a tempura roll. The sushi was amazing, the entrees fell short to the point of we decided to skip them and order more sushi. After we ordered my boyfriend stopped me and told me not to freak out. I turned to find a cockroach alive and well making itself comfortable on my kimchi. Appalled, we immediately got up, the sushi cook came out and killed it. We payed our 60 dollar bill, and immediately left. Honestly they only took the kimchi off and made us pay for the roll to go. It was ridiculous. We still tipped 7 dollars for some stupid reason. We left, threw the roll in the nearest trash can. Then proceeded to the fox and hound to throw up everything we had eaten, and take shots of hard liquor to kill anything left in our stomachs. That was honestly the fist time I've even seen a roach in erie. Let alone an establishment that serves RAW FISH. As a waitress, cook, and past bartender I give places a lot of slack but this was disgusting. Honestly this place needs shut down, I know this was a long review but for the love of god I hope people read this before they eat here. If I could figure out how to give it no stars I would. Save your time and money.

Good for downtown Erie. I'd come back. Atmosphere was nice - especially for an anniversary dinner. The sushi wasn't exceptional, but better than I tend to expect from places like this in Erie.

The best thing was the Erie sushi. Actually that was the only good thing. My boyfriend and I were the only ones in there. It was an awkward feeling. We asked what kind of fish was in a soup and the server just says "mixed fish". Would not recommend.

Let me start by saying that over the last 7-8 years I have been spoiled with some of the best Asian cuisine one can find in the U.S. Living in NYC's Brooklyn Chinatown (which is actually the largest in the city now) and sampling the various eateries throughout the area as well as those in the Manhattan and Flushing Chinatowns and other neighborhoods of the 5 boroughs, I can say that I can decipher the good and authentic Asian cuisine from the fake and "Americanized" grub joints that attempt to masquerade as the real thing. That said, Sushi and Asian Cuisine Restaurant is as good (or better) than many of the places we frequented in NYC over the years. The dishes are authentic, flavorful, and affordable, and the staff is friendly and efficient. I almost lost hope and had accepted the notion that I would have to wait until returning home to taste such goodness again. Luckily Erie has this gem just waiting to be discovered downtown on State Street. The dumplings- steamed, light, and packed full of flavor- rival the best I have had in the many dumpling houses of NYC. And the few noodle dishes we sampled can stand up to the best of them as well. If one were to take this restaurant and throw it someplace on Mott Street in NYC, it would easily compete with the best the area has to offer. I'm super stoked to have found this place and now I don't feel so bad about leaving NYC. From what I have seen thus far, Erie can use a bit of culture. So, jump on it folks... this place is worth it.

They don't know how to serve during busy times. On Saturday nights, you can see many people waiting for their dishes with empty cups. And the food is sometimes uncooked during those times too. I ordered pork dumplings, and the meat's still cold and raw WTF? And after we're done with the meal, we're waiting for the server to bring us the bill for half an hour, but they don't even give us a glance. I'm giving them three stars because besides the busy times the experiences have been pleasant. The food is nice, and the servers are pretty nice, and the interior design is pretty decent too. I'd just like to see some improvements in the restaurant that I visit often.

A bit pricey but the quality was generally high. $6 for a bowl of miso? Really?

UnAmericanized sushi restaurant. Their noodle dishes are awesome! The Erie roll is my favorite. We just realized its a BYOB also, which makes it all the better!

So I'm from Pittsburgh, home of many Asian restaurants, some of them great. And I found this place to be excellent! The day after Thanksgiving, we hoped to have lunch at the local Thai restaurant, but it was closed. So with an impatient 5-year old, we looked on Yelp for some help to find a surrogate. My two nephews and my brother-in-law were also disappointed to have to do this. Well, what a great find! All of them believed the food to be better than the Thai restaurant's food. I thought it was on par with it. First of all, we did not get sushi. I guess we might have been a little dissuaded by some of the sushi reviews and decided to stick with cooked fare. Also, how can a restaurant screw up raw fish other than let it get spoiled? One Yelper spoke highly of noodle dishes, so that's what I stuck with. The two nephews got the Hot & Sour Crab in Chili Sauce. They raved about it. But beware: they use soft-shell crab, which has the texture of fingernails to me. So I did not try it. Also, at $16, it gets a little pricey. I got Penang Style Fried Noodles with beef, half of which my 5-year old granddaughter wolfed down. I found it a little drier than I would have liked but the more I ate, the more I liked it and the more spicy it got! It stayed (temperature) hot for a long time. I got a small taste of the Burmese Mohenga Soup, which was fabulous! I've not had anything like it before. And when my granddaughter's Vietnamese Noodle Soup arrived, I saw the silvery-white broth and girded up for a lousy bland experience, that needed to be solved by liberal addition of soy and pepper. Well, I was happily surprised that the broth had a very rich flavor, with a slight fragrance of lily stems (an important ingredient in mooshu pork). I ended up having more of this soup and less of the Penang beef than I originally intended thanks to the hungry 5-year old!. Brother-in-law got the Spring Roll even after I told him that someone asked how you can F-up a spring roll. Well, this roll was NOT your standard deep-fried spring rolls. It was a Vietnamese-style FRESH spring roll. He thought it was fabulous! You just have to order the food in the right category; there are no F-ups here! Nowhere on the menu does it say that the rolls are deep-fried. So my impression is that this restaurant errs a bit on the authentic side rather than on the "Americanized" side. The reason I say "errs" is that sometimes we Americans don't develop a palate that appreciates the lily stems and lemon grass. So I hope they can keep those nicely authentic dishes (and any others they have) and survive in the tough restaurant biz!

I recently ate here with a large group of people. After walking into an empty restaurant I was a little worried, luckily there were several large groups that quickly filled up the dining room. I steered away from the sushi; however there were a few others who ordered it with no complaint. I went for a chicken & dried chili stir fry which was good. Only complaint was that the food came out at different times. There were some people at my table that were receiving their food as I was finishing mine. The kitchen seemed small so I'm sure that the large parties had something to do with the lag times also, BYBO which can be a bad or good thing. Overall a good value, nothing stuck out as being exceptional or as awful, a few steps up from the traditional neighborhood take-out place.

A little bland for my tastes and lacked very many options for vegetarians. Would pass on coming back.

I really really wanted this to be good. After a week or two of being postponed, my roommate and I gave it a try. I had been craving pho for weeks and got really excited that the reviews said they had some. Unfortunately, the "Vietnamese noodle soup" that they have, despite what the reviews say, is in no way comparable to pho. Anyone that says otherwise has never had pho. 1) The jasmine tea that I ordered was lukewarm, as if the water had been sitting at room temperature and was popped into the microwave for a hot five seconds before being dumped into the loose leaves. 2) The crunchy roll that we ordered was nothing like the description- also, since when did coating the roll in rice krispies treats become a thing? 3) The Vietnamese noodle soup- definitely not pho. It's more of a thick broth with overcooked meat. Depressing would be an understatement. as soon as I saw it, my heart dropped. You know that feeling you get when you overcook pasta and the water becomes muggy and the noodles are mushy and overcooked- yeah, same thing. The pho also had some really weird string-like noodles, which was very strange and something I have never seen done before. Judged as a simple "soup," it was edible. 4) The highlight of the meal was definitely the guava candy at the counter. The coffee candy I also got was promptly spit out the window on the drive home. 5) The service was pleasant, although it was odd not to have Sriracha readily available. 6) The ambience was friendly, well designed and comfortable- there wasn't much time to enjoy it though. 7) Overall, I will not be back. I was hoping for great things, perhaps having that high of an expectation for an Erie restaurant was where I first went wrong.

The fish is fresh and good. The rolls are precision sliced. The decore is rather nice.. Being new, it was rather empty when I arrived.. But I enjoyed it.

Fresh suishi in Erie that doesn't come for a grocery store? Yeeeeess! Good. Had bad service when they first opened, but it's settled down since then and easy in and out. Miso is good and veggie rolls are great. We order it for a work lunch often. Call ahead and just pick it up.
