Great family owned Italian place. Come hungry, as their portions are very generous. The bread and butter is the best. The hot antipasto is great. Homemade wedding soup is delicious. Any of their daily pasta specials are great. You can't have a bad meal here!

I got the baked cavatelli with pepperoni meat sauce. So so good! The pasta was fresh, the sauce was tasty! The portion size was huge! I only ate half and I was so full! The salad dressing homemade Italian; simple oil, vinegar, and herbs. Definitely enjoyed this place!

We were back for our yearly visit to Erie. Nunzi's was excellent as usual! Pizza, pepperoni balls and wedding soup were all outstanding! I'll take pizza in Erie over California any time!

I come here when I want to be a fat kid. I love the chicken Parmesan and steak hoagies and the pasta is decent. What's up with the white pizza though? It was bad.. Hoagies and pasta, no pizza

Looks like a dive inside but some of the best Italian food around. Small dimly lit dining area with a small bar. Bathrooms were clean. Service was great. Portions and prices were great as well.

I'm a bit conflicted with this review. I've been here a number of times and I've had service that sucked (waiting almost an hour for a refill of soda) to pretty good (being checked on regularly). Generally, the food here is pretty good, with a big enough portion to fill us up and still bring leftovers home.... however on our most recent visit, I learned that they got rid of my favorite thing, the meat stuffed shells, though they kept the cheese stuffed shells (to be fair, i preferred the mixed shells, which was two meat stuff and two cheese stuffed). On my most recent visit, I ended up getting the lunch special spaghetti (which was OK but not as good as what I make at home out of a box and a can of ragu sauce, which is saying something), while my wife had the pizza hoagie, which looked like two giant pieces of french bread pizza (which tasted pretty good from the part i got to taste)....I think we'd order that again next time and split it... I'm pretty disappointed that my favorite item is gone from their menu though.... Also, what's up with the hostess stand if we're supposed to just go in and seat ourselves? The place could stand a Robert Irvine-style makeover, in my opinion.

Came 10 minutes before closing time and received great service. We had the buffalo and honey garlic wings to start, the sauces were authentic and delicious. Followed by the cheese pizza which was also wonderful and homemade, there was a bit too much sauce for my taste but it had a pleasant unique taste I've never experienced in a pizza. Crunchy crust, super cheesy and a bit of a deep dish. The beer deals were good and the cup size was large. The only thing I found a bit much was the price for pizza toppings, $2.50.. other than that, highly enjoyable!

Oh my goodness! We live near this place and get food here often. We love it! Their pizza and wings are to die for! They also have a huge in-house selection of Italian food. I've never had anything close to a bad or even an average meal here- it's consistently really good with original flavors. Don't be fooled by the look of the place- it is fantastic.

I can't believe I missed this great placed when I lived in Erie! The sauce is over the top! I could not stop eating. The pizza too was spectacular with plenty of cheese and fresh mushrooms. I am so jealous as I can't find anything out west that compares in taste. Pasta was not homemade but I didn't care.

I used to go to this place in my late teens once a week with my mom and my aunt. We usually enjoyed herself hence why we went once a week. But I remember around a time when I turned 30 I was meeting a few friends here after work, And of course I'm always the late one to show up but as I walk into the front door by the bar I was stopped by whom I believe was the owner. This man was very rude and disrespectful. He told me I had to put my hat forward or I couldn't enter his establishment. Now at the time Im a 30-year-old grown man, My hat has nothing to do with me paying my hard earned money for good food and good service If I want to wear my hat backwards I can wear my hat anyway I want to. I have been to Several restaurants very nice restaurants all up-and-down peach Street and all throughout the city of Erie and have never been told this in my life. So I Ask this man why I had to put my hat the way he wanted it when I'm a pain customer? He said to me "we don't like people like you in here so put your hat forward or leave" lol . People like me? Now that could mean a lot of stuff but we won't get into that right now. So I decided to just take my hat off and take it to the car as we sat down our waitress was very rude I'm knowledgeable about the menu and seemed as if she was just ready to leave. My food was cold in everybody at our table was very unhappy with our meals! I personally will never go to this place ever again and I will tell all of my 3000 friends on Facebook the same. The whole hat situation is one thing but the food and service was terrible. As a individual who majored in the hospitality and culinary arts this is by far one of the worst places I have ever been in my life! Treating your paying customers with disrespect is just totally uncalled for! So I warn you do not go to this place unless you want to be disrespected and have terrible food!

I just don't know where to start....huge menu with something for everyone! Best sauce, pasta, fried eggplant, zucchini, soups, salads, and sandwiches! Outstanding catering, no grad party on the east side is complete without Nunzi's antipasto salad and rigatoni. Family owned and operated. LOVE!

Another great Erie gem. If you like home style, italian and the likes....it's a must go. If your used to processed, fast food, you might not like the real stuff they serve here.

If you are looking for a large portion of food at a good price, Nunzi's is your place. My family goes there when we are visiting Erie quite a bit and the food is always fine... heavy, lots of it, and reasonably priced. My only complaint can be with the service on occasions... even when they are not busy, there are some servers that clearly do not want to just do their job.

I've eaten at Nunzi's several times. They have an enormous menu filled with Italian -American entrees, along with some good ole fashion bar food. The prices are very good and the portions are generous. They also serve complimentary Italian bread. The decor is dated and the dining room cramped. The service has always been slow. It doesn't matter if the restaurant is packed or nearly empty. I've been at Nunzi's both busy and slow and the service is always slow. Although the service is poor and they occasionally screw-up the orders, we keep going back. Why? Because of quantity and quality. I think they know what a good deal their food is so they purposely give poor service.

Nunzi's was my first meal in Erie and it was only because the breakfast place was closed by the time we got there. The restaurant is pretty big itself and it seemed like a nice place where I could just eat a nice hearty meal. What my boyfriend and I actually ate was a heart-attack meal. The menu was mostly fried food or food that sounded like I'd have more than my share of sodium for the week. But despite my reservations about eating "unhealthily," I ordered a veggie pizza and my boyfriend ordered the "nightmare" sub. The nightmare was literally a nightmare. It was meatballs, pepperoni, sweet peppers, mushrooms, cheese, and some other sausage stuff in it probably. IT WAS HUGE. My boyfriend could only eat 1/2 of it and he said that he felt nauseated at how heavy it was. My pizza was actually not bad, except that the crust was incredibly thick and had the consistency of bread. Actually, the crust was very unappetizing because it had a hard bottom, a bready middle, and looked slightly uncooked on top. I'm not a pizza expert so I won't even guess what happened there. Overall, the pizza had a decent taste. We also ordered garlic/parmesan fries. Not good. They were soggy and did not taste good together. I would hate to give a bad review because the service was pretty good. Our waitress was nice and seemed very sweet. However, the quality of the food and the amount of time it took for the food to come out made this place a 2 star worthy place. Oh yes and I also had a terrible stomach ache afterwards and Its probably because of my pizza crust being undercooked or something else about the food. I won't go into details there...

This place is dirty dirty dirty! Smells like old dirty socks! Food is terrible! My first experience was bad I thought! I dared to go back again and what a waste of an evening and money! Both times we had the worst service ever! My fiance put his empty glass at the end of the table for a refill and it sat there all through his meal that he managed to choke down. BTW, he got a roast beef hoagie and it was a loaf of bread with hardly anything in it! I learned my lesson this time. Yuck!

First off, I would like to say that this place has the best ranch dressing I have ever had. That being said, the food itself is fantastic and the portions are insanely large. I would say the majority of the meals are below $10, and the dinner specials are really cheap too. Most of the food is Italian with a few random American things thrown in there (fried veggies & I think they have wings). It's a complete hole in the wall restaurant, so don't expect too much with the decor, and I think the tables & chairs (and wooden salad bowls) are the same ones they have had since I remember going there as a child in the early 90s. By far, the best Italian food in Erie!!
