Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Yuck would have been better off getting a frozen pizza:( there are much better places in Erie. We were staying at a hotel on upper peach and got take out. To ad insult to injury, when I asked if they had some paper plates and napkins the guy told me "No, only if you were dinning in ":0

Mama Mia's has become my most frequent choice for delivery pizza in Erie, I keep coming back anyway. The pizzas are actually very good, delivery is fast and the pizza is still hot! This is, of course, relative to food in Erie generally. Nuff said.

Good pizza in Erie, PA is not an easy find. Mama Mia's is a pretty solid option. The delivery area has good coverage and they are reliable and the thin crust pizza is worth a try. In a more competitive market I'd rank three stars but it's four for the Erie market.

I heard a lot of good things about this pizza. Supposedly it's won the "Best In Erie" award a few times. So, I was sort of hoping to hit "Wow" on my tastebud meter, but I kept the expectations realistic, knowing that the pizza game in these parts is lacking at best (and straight up atrocious at worst). Honestly, it's a mediocre pie, 2.5-3 stars. It reminded me of chain pizza; definitely had a Domino's feel to it. No, it's not served up on some par-baked prefabbed shell of listlessness like some Erie "pizza" places (shame on you), but something is missing here. Having tried my hand at making pizza at home (to the point where I tricked my oven into hitting temps of 700) and reading up on the subject extensively ( pizzamaking.com forums are a must for any pizza head), I'd have to say that the cooking times are probably a bit too long, which basically means the ovens are not hot enough. The pies back home (NYC area) cook under 7 minutes (most closer to 4) and this results in a crisp undercarriage and bubbled crust. The pies at many places in Erie (that is those who claim "fresh dough") come off as too puffy (hence that Domino's feel). I'm also curious as to how long most of these places are fermenting their dough, if at all, since a lot of the dough here lacks the flavor that will only develop from letting the yeastie-beasties do their wonderful works of biochemical alchemy. Point being, it won't take much for these places to improve their art, but I wonder how many of them see it as such... Anyhow, Mama Mia's is worth a try and in a place like Erie, I guess it's a bit of a standout. Competition does sort of stink around here though, leaving a gaping hole in the pizza scene. Anything good should make bank with the right marketing here.

Mama Mia's is a good quick inexpensive pizza joint located near all the hotels. We ordered take out and got a small pizza, which was fine for 2 people, and some pepperoni rolls and were more than satisfied. The pepperoni balls were pretty good but lathing amazing. A little garlic butter dipping sauce would have made them amazing. The pizza was greasy but not more than normal pizza and was quite enjoyable. Good crust and not too much sauce. Total bill was less then $12. Can't beat that! We would definitely go here again for the price and speediness as well as good quality.

Really great pizza! There's lots of different kinds of pizza out there, and everyone has their own preference. I used to be a fan of Domino's but the franchise is so scaled down it's just not convenient for me anymore. I thought Wegmans Pizza or Little Caesars was the next best thing but I obviously forgot what I was missing. Momma Mia's hits the spot and then some! I am a fan!

I was in charge of planning a retirement party for my office & I ordered all of the food from Mama Mia's. For a party of 40 people we ordered 120 Wings, 14 Lg Pizzas, & 2 Party Antipasto Salads. Left overs: ~10 wings, 3.5 pizzas, .75 Party Antipasto Salad. Wing flavors were BBQ, Butter & Garlic, Medium, Hot Honey Mustard, Dry Ranch, & Parmasean Garlic. Everyone loved all of the wings. The left overs were BBQ & Medium wings. The quanitity ordered was perfect. Pizza flavors were 3 Pepperoni, 2 sausage & mushroom, 2 pepperoni & hot pepper, 2 chicken BBQ, 2 Philly Steak, 2 Supreme, and 1 Pulled Pork. The pizza was a hit too. The left overs were 1 Pepperoni & Banana Pepper, 1 Sausage & Mushroom, 1 Chicken BBQ, and 1/2 Supreme. People were asking about the pulled pork pizza long after it was gone. The Philly Steak pizza was the next one to run out. Originally I planned on 12 pizzas (3 slices each) and at the last second I threw in 2 extra pizzas. I should have stuck to the original 12 pizzas, but I'd rather have too much than too little and for a party that size, 3.5 left over pizzas isn't excessive. It's not hard to get rid of left over pizza either ;) Salads were fresh & packed to the brim with antipasto goodness. 2 was the right quanitity. I scheduled delivery for 4pm. The delivery guy was there at 3:45pm (better early than late!) and even helped us arrange the pizzas. Our total bill was ~$300, which is fantastic for a 40 person party. I got lots of compliments on the food & lots of people asked me where it was from. I would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a pizza party :) Thanks, Mama Mia's!!

Not the friendliest service. I'm sure it's ok if you just order off the menu, but if you order a pizza sub with no pepperoni, stand behind the cooler and see how they talk about you. They don't use gloves or wash hands right from register either

We were looking for some good authentic Erie pizza and thought this would be the place. We were all so disappointed with the pizza. The pizza balls were good and the pepperoni balls okay but the pizza was not good. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the pizza balls.

New owners ruined my favorite pizza shop. I use to love mama mias and recommend it to everyone. I have gotten pizza from there two times since the new owner have taken over (jan 2015) and they put almost no sauce on the pizza no exaggeration and very skimpy amount of cheese the pizza is a shell of what it use to be. I will be taken my business to stevos which copied mama mias recipes and did a pretty good job of it except for the dough but I can live with that. Saving a few dollars on topping is going to cost mama mias a lot more money in lost customers Bad business decision

3 stars for the food, 1 star for the great customer service and speedy delivery (not getting lost coming to our place). It will be hard for me to order from any other pizza place going forward because each and every one has just been a big fail. I must tell you in advance that I have only tried their calzone and wings. The small size calzone is about half of the size of a medium pizza. That sucker is huge! The dough and sauce are very fresh and the calzone has a good flavor. The wings are OK, I've definitely had better. I did not care for their BBQ wings, a bit too sweet for my taste; I like them smokey and spicy. I'd definitely recommend ordering from Mama Mia's. If you are new to the Erie area do not waste your time trying to find a "go to" place for ordering in. Seriously trust me on this one. This is the only place I have not had to wait for over an hour to have subpar, cold food delivered.

I have only ordered pick up so I can't speak to their dining service but overall I was pleased. Between the time I ordered and the time I had the pizza in my hands was all of 20 minutes. The pizza is more on the greasy side which I like, and the small pizza size is fairly generous. The one staff person I encountered wasn't super customer-service oriented, but I don't really expect that from my pizza place. She was direct and to the point which is fine by me. I've been here just once but will likely go again!
