There's just something about Chippers: the divey small two-rooms with a bar that seats no more than eight. The simplicity of the beer menu, stubbornly resisting the craft movement. The smell, which reminds one of the home of a friend we all had growing up. When I say it doesn't LOOK like much, well... you'll understand what I mean when you see it. But its an old school neighborhood dive bar with a friendly and inviting staff and, oh yeah... did I mention they have some of the best chicken wings in Erie? There's dozens of flavors, most of which are worth trying. If you really want a recommendation, try my favorite, the Plizards, for something spicy, sloppy, and tasty. A dozen go for a little over $9, which is a bit pricey, but becoming the new norm (I miss you $3 for dozen wings days). You can't call yourself a wing lover of you haven't at least tried Chippers.

I live a few miles from this place and eventually got curious. In terms of a bar it truly lives up to that "whole in the wall". I must say however that for such a small establishment it has alot to offer. The food single handedly gives this a stellar rating. With 61 differing wing flavors and a whole assortment of other foods, you won't leave hungry. I would have to rate there wings as one of my top ten favorite ( bdubs and quaker steak are not even on my list). They have great specials like 24 wings and a small pitcher for 16 bucks. I highly recommend the butter garlic Parmesan ranch wings. I also love the breaded mushrooms and zucchini. The bar however, is basically a counter top that can fit about 10 people. They have a few tables and one pinball machine. Drink assortment is fairly limited but i think people go for beer and wings mostly. The tv is pretty small. This establishment is family owned which makes it a Pretty friendly and hospitable environment. Wings are 5 but the establishment is like a 2 or 3, unless you are into the whole the definition of a bar as 8 people drinking in a given location.
