Was in the area from NJ and stumbled upon Traub's. Well worth the visit. There are lots of local hot dog places in my area of NJ, but none like this. Fresh baked rolls, great hot dog and homemade chili. AWESOME . Really friendly and efficient staff. I will be back !!!

I swung by an afternoon after a parade rolled through the town. The place had a few people enjoying some food, but not terribly crowded. As mentioned already, this place is a Hot Dog joint.....they had other things on the wall menu (like sausage sandwiches and the like)....but I wanted to get a local taste so I ordered two dogs....one with Cheese, and the other called a Traub dog (with the special sauce they call their own). THESE WERE REALLY GOOD DOGS!....two key components, a good meaty dog (cooked all the way but not shriveled at all...they were a brand called Berks....which are popular in the area) and a roll that was NOT from a plastic bag. The roll was hot dog sized, but I think they were made from a bakery close by......but at the very least, it wasn't a mass produced roll....put the two together and it was a great surprise! A dog costs $1.45 (how they came up with that figure I'm not sure....maybe trying to avoid raising five sense because a buck - fifty does seem kind of high right?)....and they have the usual soft drinks / teas you might expect to be there. I don't always get out to Emmaus, but I'd stop in again......and if Traub's was head to head with some old time places known in the area (Yacco's, Pot's, etc).....they'd be in the ball park....and maybe even better.....at least based on my one experience so far....I think I have to try this place again for sure....you might want to as well.

This is one of those instances where I might have given 4.5 stars if it had been an option. Traub's is a great place; it screams Emmaus. The Lehigh Valley has their own way of doing hot dogs, and I'm from Chicago. Just like pizza, nobody does hot dogs like Chicago, so I'm partial, but I do like Traub's dogs. They serve good hot dogs on good rolls with a really good sauce. It's a cute little place that even the local elderly frequent for soup and chili. They're a staple of Emmaus for good reason. I can't say more about their food, because I've only ever had the hot dogs, but Traub's is a hot dog place, so all that other stuff is just periphery to me. You review hot dog joints on their hot dogs. My only complaints really are that they are a little inconsistent with how your hot dog is prepared. This is minor; depending on who makes your hot dog, you may have a little less of "everything" than you had expected. Oh well. Good place. And, yes, I like them just a little bit more than Yocco's.

Great little place for a good hotdog. I love the rolls that they put them on. I also like their burgers. Good for a meal on the go. Friendly people, good prices, and a good dog.

One of my favorite places in Lehigh Valley to get a hot dog. They still use Malone's rolls! I used to sit at the counter at Traub's Market back in the 70's & 80's with my grandma eating these hot dogs. I'm glad they opened this iconic location so we can continue to enjoy these great hot dogs. The Traub Family are outstanding local business owners in the Lehigh Valley for decades. Easy to miss because it's down in the basement but don't let that stop you. These guys have great hot dogs, Great service and a clean business. Remember to support your local businesses

Happy to see this place is still the same! Great hot dogs and quick, friendly service. This cute little shop reminds me of simpler times. I love chattin' with the owners - they definitely make the atmosphere homey.

We moved here a few months ago and always wanted to stop in so this weekend we had the chance. I wasn't too impressed. The place needs a little face lift and the hotdogs were good however it seemed like the roll was kind of old. It tasted a little stale. My finance agreed with me.

I love Traub's Dogs, good chili, great buns and friendly folks. I consider this the best place for dogs in the Lehigh Valley.

Stopped here for a couple hot dogs the other day. My girlfriend (who's a big Traub's fan) recommended I get my hot dogs with chili, so I followed her lead. The first thing I noticed was how good the rolls were--definitely better than any hot dog roll I've had before. The hot dog itself was pretty good, but I really wish there had been more chili sauce--I could barely taste it! Overall, this is really a 3.5, and it probably would've been a 4 if there had been more chili on my hot dogs.
