Absolutely disgraceful. My brother had a cake tasting SCHEDULED with an appointment for his WEDDING. He came from across the country for this place. They forgot about the appointment, offered no tasting, were not apologetic about it and even more rude and terrible was that this woman had the audacity to tell my brother and mother that they didn't even need the business anyway and it wasn't important!! Then why schedule the tasting?! Just say no. That's horrible customer service and terrible behavior. DONT GO HERE!

Lunch with a dear friend and so many delicious choices to tempt us. My tangy chicken salad was fresh and crunchy, just like I like it! The atmosphere in the separate dining area is relaxing and the decor is pleasing to the eyes. Congratulations to Angie and Bernie for this success story!

You should know that ownership changed here a week ago and that there are two units to talk about; The Bakery in front is one and the Cafe in a separate building out back is the other. I have never been in the Bakery but had breakfast at the Cafe. First, you have to pull off busy Chestnut Street and drive behind the Bakery to find the Restaurant. It is absolutely charming with both indoor and outdoor tables. Very limited Breakfast menu, and even with that, they were out of several items (on a Saturday morning). It is a bit pricey, but the food is excellent and the ambiance is wonderful. If so inclined, a great place to enjoy your coffee and linger over a newspaper.

Ordered "tie dye" cupcakes for my daughter's 10th birthday, although expensive they were incredible. Everything she wanted!

I really enjoy visiting Louie's unfortunately I haven't been able to turn it into a usual spot for my baked good needs. They did my engagement cake and I was satisfied however when I visited them for my wedding cake it was a different story. We had a tasting and were both served cappuccinos. The lady helping us told us that they would not draw up any designs or concepts for us until we would put a fifty percent deposit down. I'm sorry but it is completely unreasonable to put a deposit down without even seeing a design. At the end of the consultation she actually brought us over a check -- we had been charged $10.00 for the cappuccinos which we thought were complimentary! Had we known that, we wouldn't have accepted the offer and would have picked up Dunkin Donuts across the street. Anyways, we didn't have them do our wedding cake. We still ordered cakes from them a few times after that however we were unsatisfied. We love ordering their custom cakes with fillings, which are pricey, but well worth it. I noticed that they were skimming on the fillings and barely putting enough in for us to even taste. Overall it's a cute place but like I said earlier I just haven't been able to consider it a usual spot for my baked good needs.

After hearing great things we decided to let them create and design our wedding cake. We went in for the tasting got free coffee and great cake, however they never communicated that we would need to come back to "design" the cake until after the tasting was over. Inconvenient yes but not a huge deal. While we were there we noticed a man waiting for a birthday cake he ordered weeks ago. This man was becoming aggravated because they "lost" his order slip and never made the cake. Overhearing some of the conversation this has happened to him before (red flag number 1)... The morning of our design consultation we arrived a few minutes early to find out the designer was "out sick" and never called us because she thought it was our tasting despite them telling us "you were just here for your tasting 2 weeks ago". While sitting there listening to them call the designer to get their stories straight a man and woman were waiting for a cake that they ordered weeks ago that again wasn't made... After reading some reviews and going through what we did I will not take the chance of allowing them to make our wedding cake. I have a feeling allowing them it will not get made correctly and we will be paying 100's of dollars for a sub par cake that was thrown together last minute.

Got two items: a mid-size container of italian wedding soup and a piece of banana cake. The italian wedding soup was very good....had meatballs cut in half, plenty of spinach and pasta, and a little carrots and pulled chicken. The banana cake was just ok, a little too much icing and had a piece of dehydrated banana on top (which appeared to be fresh banana). The other bad thing is their pricing. The pint of soup was almost $5.00 and they charged $4.50 for a 4" x 4" piece of cake. These prices are a little steep considering at the Allentown Farmer's Market, I can get half a cake or pie for about $4-5.00.

Hi, Louie's bakery has been a favorite of mine for 25 years. There food is fantastic and you can tell it is made with love. The chicken breast fillet / tender and juicy yum.... The cookies are my very favorite ...., lemon drops and ricotta . I feel warm and welcomed by the staff who are gracious and friendly. They truly go out of there way to provide good food and a happy , friendly atmosphere

Brought my kids here for lunch. Loved the setting!!! Vintage table cloths. Round wooden tables and chairs. I'm a sucker for anything NON-modern.. Very clean. Delicious sandwiches! Nice selection. We'll be returning next time we're in emmaus! Great job Louie's!

A great neighborhood bakery is much-needed in the Emmaus/Allentown area and I want to like Louie's. I really do, but I've had better (and more inexpensively priced) pastries and cookies at holes-in-the-wall. I should mention, however, that I have not tried their breakfast items (i.e. quiche, omelettes, etc.) The concept of Louie's is great--a bakery/cafe with a bistro-like feel--but for the prices they charge ($4 for a simple lemon bar and $4.50 for a brick-hard piece of cake with whipped cream frosting and weird tasting strawberries), I need more substantial items than what I'd find at a 5th grade bake sale.

AMAZING cake, especially if you order a full cake, and really kind, welcoming staff. I love this place!!!
