I love Barry's ice cream. As a former Ellwood City resident, I have frequented Barry's many times over the years and stop anytime I am in town during the summer season. They have an extensive menu and each flavor (I've tasted them all!) is delicious. Service is friendly and fast, prices are fair for the quality and portions--so much that I don't mind leaving an extra buck for the employees :) I've never had a bad experience over the years and recommend Barry's to anyone who is looking for a delicious treat

Barry's Ice Cream Shoppe was recommended to me by a friend so my wife and I decided to give it a try. We arrived and had to wait in line for about 10 minutes. I don't think that they had enough workers, there was so much commotion. Also, one of the employees looked like she was in grade school! I ordered a chocolate milkshake... Bad decision. I could've just went to the grocery store and gotten chocolate milk! My milkshake was ridiculously thin and lacked flavor. My wife got a banana bowl which was very expensive. The smaller size looked the exact same for $1 cheaper! And $1 extra for whipped cream and nuts? Ridiculous.

Some rules just don't make sense!! I asked for a baby cone (1 scoop) for my three year old daughter in a waffle cone and was told that wasn't allowed. The smallest size we could get would be a junior( 1 1/2 scoop). I didn't want to get the junior size because I didn't want her to have that much before dinner and she often gets sick if she eats to much ice cream. So I had to buy a baby cone in a dish and a waffle cone on the side, THEN scoop it in myself! It made such a mess and sprinkles went everywhere. If I wanted to scoop my own ice cream I could have just went to grocery store and bought it there! Don't they realize they lost money by having to give me a dish and spoon? Not a smartly run business

Another great experience 2 years later. Reasonably priced. Cash only. Can't go wrong with an ice cream place that smells like fresh waffle cones when you walk in. Loved our ice cream sundaes. Barry's will always be a MUST STOP for us when we're near Ellwood City.

Barrys is a great place to get ice cream rain or shine with its indoor seating. Good selection of ice cream. Would definitely recommend!

"Come on!" That's what I wanted to yell the last time I stopped here. Jay and I stopped here just a few days ago. I ordered a yogurt sundae and Jay ordered a small milkshake. After the girl took our order, she then talked to her friend for a few minutes then decided to make our shake. Then she talked to her friend for another few minutes before deciding to get a straw and then bring our orders to the window. I think my ice cream melted because she was so interested in chatting with her coworkers and handing out high fives (not kidding) to other staff members. Their hours seem to be confusing as of lately. The sign notes they close at 10 pm but I drive by sometimes to see the joint all closed up at 930pm.

Went for the first time to get a milkshake, seeing as their only a mile down the road. Got there, asked for a milkshake at 8:30pm, was told very rude that they can't make it cause they want to close. It really wasn't the fact that they would not make it, it's the tone. It was as if what I was doing was just annoying them and preventing them from closing as early as they'd like. Also they don't take cards, only cash.

The ice cream here tastes good, and it's much cheaper than it should be. The owners need to raise the price. It's actually SO cheap, that my date decided to pay. There is an indoor area, as well as a nice outdoor arrangement that doesn't feel as cramped as other ice cream shops in the area. Their sign out front brags that they have 25 flavors of homemade ice cream. I didn't count the flavors on their menu, but I'm assuming they're being honest. The peanut butter ice cream had swirls of peanut butter in it, and the ice cream itself had enough peanut butter that you could taste it, but not so much that it was like taking a spoon into a jar of Jif. They also have milkshakes, sundaes, and other ice cream parlor staples like... Pretzels and sandwiches.
