Both of my parents are Edinboro alumni and took my here a few years ago to be nostalgic and reminisce. We explored the campus and then stopped at Crossroads for lunch which was apparently fairly common for them. My mom remarked that it looked much like it did when she attended the university but she could tell things had been renovated as well. Personally I loved the food so I don't understand the poor reviews. I started with a beef and vegetable soup which was obviously homemade - huge cuts of beef and plenty of vegetables. It came to the table steaming hot, just like I like it. We tried several things - a burger, one of the mac n cheese dishes, and a Reuben. Everything was delicious, we were stuffed, and the bill total was super cheap. And to top it off, the waitress was fantastic. She was very sweet and helpful with any of our questions about the menu and kept our drinks filled throughout the lunch. This is just how I picture a little diner in a small town to be! If I lived closer I would return.

First of all, the food took forever to come out. When it finally did, it was below average. The chicken had so much seasoning on it, you couldn't eat it. The prices are a little outlandish for average food. Salads and even dipping sauces are extra money. I will just have to wait for Perkins to open again. I will not go back nor refer anyone I know there.

Decor and environment is awesome. Just the atmosphere set a 3 star bar for my expectations. Bathroom was clean. Service was OK. Staff and kitchen were loud ... yelling orders heard across the whole restaurant? Maybe was just where I was seated. COFFEE IS NOT FRESH. Seriously? AUTOMATIC 1 STAR!!!!! Why are you serving reconstituted frozen coffee? That is a sin. FAIL FAIL FAIL. Food is pretty bad too. I have had better food at a lowbrow Jersey diner. I assess that everything is frozen or out of a can here. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER. Come on Crossroads Dinor ... do you have to serve frozen crap out of a bag? Why do you do that?

The food was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered, and the service was great as well. It is not fancy, but then again, you don't have to pay "fancy place prices" either. I highly recommend you check out this great place.

Absolutely horrible service. Came with a party of 10 on a slow Saturday for lunch so there was no reason for the delay. It took them 40 minutes to bring our meals and when they did they forgot to bring 2 of them and it took another 30 minutes to bring those. Everything has a film of Greece on it. Used the restroom and they were out of towels. Good was average.

This is an updated review. I've dropped them down to two stars in my book because I believe the food made me sick. I had the beer battered fish sandwich with tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato, with fries. I don't know exactly what could have caused it but less than an hour after eating there I was sick in the bathroom. I'm pretty disappointed because their food is good and I love the fries. To be fair, this was the only time I've gotten sick from here, so it could have been a one-off thing. Just thought I'd let everyone be aware.

I will never, ever go back. The waitress obviously didn't know what was in the food and I spent a very long night having an extreme allergic reaction. She even said that she asked the kitchen if there was pepper in the sauce, whether this is true or not, I was very very sick. I made it very clear that I could not have peppers, I can't even touch them. The service in general was not good. We waited 20 minutes for a check that we asked for twice while my tongue was slowly growing to the size of my face. The hotdog that I had wasn't fully cooked. The only good part about the meal was the live music.

Safe zone for winos... They keep serving alcohol to drunks, in spite of the fact that they're visibly intoxicated, contrary to PA state law (and good taste).

The first time my husband and I ate here it was great, that was in August of 2012, kinda upscale feel in a small town....that was the last time it was good...it went downhill VERY fast, we went for a date night a few months later....you'd swear our waitress had PMS or something, she was horrible, rude and quite frankly should've been fired on the spot for sheer incompetence. The food was ok on that visit but not to the standards of the first time we went. Then our family came for a visit and we brought them here....it just plain sucked at this point and I could have made a better meal at home. The service was terrible, the staff aloof, and the food could have been found in any dive bar out there. Word to the owners, stop hiring college students, they obviously do not care about your business.

Terrible food. Terrible service. Avoid going on live music night - it's extremely loud and difficult to converse.

Don't come during any peak hours, or at all if you can help it. You won't get your food for an extremely lengthy amount of time and then when it does come, it's stale old tasting and doesn't live up to their extreme prices. Overall, go anywhere but here. They don't offer to refund any food that wasn't satisfactory. While our waitress was nice, her visits to the table were few and far between. Hire a new chef, and some help!

Very nice place!! Great food!! Great atmosphere!! Nice selection of beer!! Clean and well kept business!! It took this business time to improve and grow, so everyone should disregard any negative reviews prior.

I had super high hopes for the new Dinor. First time I went, fantastic. So I took my parents about two weeks later. Terrible. Food gave me food poisoning (This is maybe the 3rd time this has happened under different owners here. The place is cursed). Wasnt terribly impressed with any of the food, either. Couple weeks later we take my girlfriend's parents to the establishment. Waitress was fairly rude, food wasnt anything to brag about, left disappointed. Gave it about two more tries, with the last time being the worst. Burger was barely cooked, when asked to cook more was reprimanded by the waitress, burger comes back without any of the toppings. Food gave our whole party food poisoning, and everyone else's food (aside from the aforementioned burger) was very plain and expensive. Chef came out and presented my mashed potatoes and rubber steak as if it was a spectacle. It's just mashed potatoes, dude. Wasn't even good. Don't know how you screw up mashed potatoes. Whatever. My point is more than clear. I would say this place is a crapshoot, could be great could be horrible. Not worth the price or the gamble, when there are better food establishments (notably Flips) in the area.

Seriously, don't bother, even if your friends say it's new, improved, etc. I have never seen stuffed mushrooms that were "stuffed" with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella until now, and what you're thinking is right: awful. Tasteless fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken that was so black, it tasted like charcoal briquets. I don't know what they did to my green beans, which didn't taste like green beans. My husband had a NY strip that was equally bad. We asked for bread and got two slices, each with a big hole in the top. I'm now at home trying to get the charcoal taste out of my mouth.

Stopped in with my parents on a Sunday night. Had read the reviews here and despite the numerous negative comments we decided to give it a shot. Not many people here, yet had to wait at least 5 minutes to be seated. Waitress was ok to begin with. She took our orders for a burger for me and a shrimp basket and chicken tender basket for my parents. Nothing complicated or takes that long. We waited for our food... And waited. A couple who ordered after us (steaks) got their food before us. . After at least 40 minutes I had to flag down our waitress to ask about our order. She snapped at me " I put it in" I said, I told her we have been waiting at least 40 minutes. She just walked away. After conferring with my parents we decided to leave and go next door to Perkins. I tried to speak to our waitress, who was behind the bar, before I walked out, but she ignored me. Needless to say this place won't be in business much longer unless they get it together! Side note: we had an amazing waiter at Perkins and got our food in less than 8 minutes!

Two words.. Jimmy Mac. There is always a great selection of beer on tap and the food is always good. The head cook always has specials and they change all of the time. They used to have a great breakfast buffet but they are no longer do that. They still serve breakfast until 4 but they don't open until 11 on weekends.

New and improved since reopening in August 2012 after being closed for well over a year... I can't imagine how much money the new owners must have put into remodeling this place. But it's nice to finally have it in the hands of someone who cares about it. The menu is solid, if not predictable, but the decor is top-notch (for Edinboro, of course) and they have a great selection of beer on tap. Both the servers and the bartenders are welcoming and friendly. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Great home-made eats. Unexpected fresh menu. $2 drafts at happy hour. What's not to like?

Nice looking facility, food just OK, service poor. If they don't fix it soon they will fail. For better breakfast go around the corner to Flip.

Front door was locked so I walked around back. I should have known that, I think it was like that before. The host was very pleasant and gave me a great table near the window. Ordered coffee and water to start. Coffee - disappointment. I'm quite sure it is Douwe Egberts brand. A frozen concentrated product that is great for large volume users, but I think this operation would do better with fresh brewed coffee. I was very happy to see that they use very substantial silverware and high quality napkins. For those you who know me, cheap flatware and napkins are by far two of my pet peeves when dining out. I ordered the wild west omelet (their western omelet) and home fries (subbing fruit is an option). The flavors were definitely there. The potatoes, while I don't think they were sliced fresh (another frozen product), were fine. The omelet ingredients were sautéed an sandwiched between the folded egg. Red & green peppers, onions and mushrooms (perhaps another frozen ingredient??). I personally prefer to have my ingredients incorporated into my eggs but I've come to expect them delivered this way. After a short discussion about sourdough or white toast I ended up not receiving either. I didn't mention it choosing instead to pass on the extra carbs. The place is beautiful without doubt!! Unfortunately in order to get a higher rating from me you'll have to fix a few things. Fresh ingredients is what this dinor's reputation was built on, it's what I came back for. Not serving fresh brewed coffee is inexcusable. That should be priority!! Best of luck to the Crossroads Dinor!! Great memories of this place, but maybe not this one.

Have been going to dinor for many years. Really impressed with new decor, the bar area is nice addition. Chose to eat in train car. Even though there were five or six service people doing busy work and only two other tables with customers our service was almost nil. Never asked If we needed more water, coffee . My friend ordered chilli and a hamburger which she said was very good. I didn't order anything because the dishwasher?( Not wearing uniform) came out to the counter, used his bar rag that he was carrying over his shoulder to BLOW HIS NOSE ON and then put it on counter,, touched everything dried his hands on it then proceed to wipe his whole face with it then threw it back over his shoulder to be used over and over again. Too unsanitary for me.

Known as just "The Dinor" amongst my family, this has been the setting of far too many family brunches to count. Every year for the past 15 years or so, we have come back and the same waitress remembers all our names and serves us. The Dinor used to be a railroad car, but our family is so big that we have to sit in the extra room in the back. We live around a mile from here, so it's usually some combination of scooters, bikes, strollers, cars, and roller blades that bring us to the dinor. We all get there at different times and leave at different times too, and I never have figured out who pays the bill. I bet it's my Grandpa though. Their milkshakes are to die for.
