Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I have ordered from Jano's a few times and have enjoyed it. Good pizza, good sandwiches, wraps, etc. The wraps are HUGE! Also, Nick? is awesome! I swear, he never goes home. He's amazing at what he does. He always has a smile on his face. My husband and I enjoy the conversations with Nick while waiting for our food. I will come back to Jano's!

I was visiting PA from my new midwestern home, and of course had to get a cheesesteak! My grandmom suggested this place as her "go-to" for cheesesteaks. I took her word for it, and had them deliver to her house in Drexel Hill. I got whiz wit (a cheesesteak with fried onions and cheez whiz), and was very pleased with the cheesesteak. They use Amoroso rolls, the essential ingredient. I think the sandwich was above average for delco. I will definitely order another next time I'm in town!

Decided to try a new place close to home. I went in for a slice, and was told they only do plain cheese pizzas by the slice. That was a bit of a letdown. considering I wanted to try one of a few different slices, since I've never been there before. Two dollars/slice, very large slice. Uneventful. Too much cheese, I was practically gaging it down. Too much flour on the outside of the dough. Overall not much flavor going on. I would probably only go back if I had a group with me so we can get a full size pizza.

The dough was under-cooked in the center of the pizza. The sauce was flavorful, the toppings were fresh and plentiful, but the first bite was just raw dough. Yuck.

It took 1 hour and 20 to get dinner for 4 delivered and it was cold. The fries were cold and obviously very old, cheesteaks cold. Delivery guy said, "we are slammed", well then call people and tell them, see if they can pick up there food while it's hot. I called to express my disappointment and got "sorry". Asked for the manager and got put on hold for so long that I hung up. $50.00 for cold, old food. Really? Never again!!!! Lost a great customer.

Great pizza joint food, great service. I would order from here again. Just like most people, I am always on the lookout for good neighborhood pizza. This place has it. The service is also friendly. One bonus for me was the first time I was there, I ordered a small cheese pizza. I thought I had enough cash but didn't. It was under $10 and was almost afraid to ask if I could use credit. So many places violate credit card TOS and don't allow credit card purchases under $10 or so. This place didn't have a problem. They score big points for that, and return visits. The menu is typical pizza joint. The quality is far superior than average. The prices are in line and typical. Drexel Hill, and this part of the country for that matter is lucky to have many great pizza, and Drexel Hill area especially. I order from other places, too, but will never hesitate to order from here too.

I stopped in based on Yelp reviews and ratings... Yelpers were right! Giant slices. Free fountain refills. Friendly staff. Can't go wrong!

Let me begin this review by telling you that I LOVE pizza. I've been a firm supporter of Pizza Friday ever since I was little and I make pizza from scratch pretty much every Friday for dinner. So, yes, I'm picky when it comes to this particular delicacy. My husband grew up near Drexel Hill, so I've had Jano's pizza several times over the last 9 years. He and his family are big fans. I guess that's because it's what they grew up on, but I have never been overly impressed. I grew up on Ledo's and Stained Glass Pub, which are far superior in my humble opinion. Anyway, it had been a while since we last got Jano's, and although we usually get their upside-down pizza, I requested we get something else this time. We ordered green pepper and onion and got red pepper and red onion, which was fine. Like most pizza, it smelled A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It looked awesome, too. CRUST: There aren't a whole lot of ingredients that go in to pizza crust and it's taken me a lot of trial and error to perfect my at-home dough. This crust? BLAH. They obviously use a lot of flour to roll out the dough and the problem with doing that is a lot of the loose flour sticks to the outside of the dough and gives a really unappealing, dry texture. To be fair, it did hold the toppings and it's not limp or greasy. It's just extremely dry and flavorless. There's no satisfying crunch nor distinct chewiness to speak of, either; it's just bland. SAUCE: The sauce is my biggest complaint when it comes to Jano's pizza. It.Is.Terrible. I'm 97% sure it's just raw tomato paste... it's really acidic and bitter and it makes my teeth hurt. I guess that's why I never liked the upside-down: it has a ton of sauce on it. TOPPINGS: When it comes down to it, the toppings were the highlight of the pie. They are generous with their cheese and other toppings and truth be told, they were cooked perfectly. According to my in-laws, this is the best place in the area for pizza. Kinda disappointing if you ask me!

Ordered here last night for the first time. We are new to the area and we're trying to find a good place for cheesesteaks. Saw the reviews here so decided to give them a shot...and we were not disappointed! I got the chicken cheesesteak and the hubby got the special cheesesteak. They were both delicious and the bread tastes really fresh! We also ordered a large chef salad. It was a nice size for the price. Will definitely be going back!

Food was good. No complaints in regards to that. They get 3 stars because the inside is very smokey at least the night we were there. I recommend getting your food "to go" and not sitting there and eating. The door was propped open and cold air was blowing in. I assume to help ventilate the smoke out of the restaurant. This place would be 4-5 stars if It wasn't for the restaurant having poor ventilation. Our clothes all smelled like kitchen smoke the rest of the evening.

Love it! By far the best pizza in Drexel Hill!!! For years it was a Nostra town and when they closed years ago my taste buds were consoled by Janos! Try the upside pizza...its really amazing!

Yummy!! They deliver but not to us in Morton. I decided to pick it up anyway and am glad I did! Really good plain and upside down pizza.

This was my go-to pizza joint when I lived in Drexel Hill. I pretty much tried every shop in the area, and this was the best IMO. I never got to try the sicilian because you need to give them 24 hours advance notice, which I found weird. They also have decent cheesesteaks, but Civeras is better in that department.

I was very disappointed in this place. I tried a plain cheese pizza and the upside down. On the plain, there was just way too much cheese. There was so much cheese that I was basically doing nothing but chew cheese. The upside down was doughy in the middle. It's also a little pricey for the area.

Visited this place for the first time the other on a trip back through the old neighborhood. From a visual standpoint this place is no different than the majority of pizza shops. Seemed clean enough and smelled like any other pizza shop. I ordered two slices of regular cheese pizza. Slices came out quick and were huge. I was shocked at how big the slices were - two slices here are equivalent to about 3-4 slices at other spots. Pizza was pretty much the perfect thickness for NY style pizza. It had a great combination of floppy and cripsy. The end crust had just enough crisp. Sauce was very tasty and the slice wasn't overpowered by too much cheese. Slice dropped a good bit of grease, but nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely going to stop back again.

I love the food here! the BBQ Chicken Pizza with red sauce is my favorite!!!

Whoever said that you judge all pizza off of the pizza you had growing up is right. This place is my favorite pizza place and serves as my standard. What sets Jano's apart for me is the crust. It's doughy but at just the right proportion, giving you enough to chew on without it taking over. The sauce is also really great. You can't go wrong with the cheese pizza, but my favorite is the upside pizza (sauce on top of the cheese). Having had regular cheese pizza hundreds of times, it is nice to switch it up a little. Jano's also has the best stromboli in town, thanks again to the dough and sauce. This is the first place I had a stromboli and is still the best I've had. Unlike other places, the stromboli is a rectangular shape, rather than a half circle, making it much easier to cut up and eat. It also lacks the hard crust that I've had at other places, which is good, as that usually just cuts up my gums. The strombolis are pretty big and can serve about 3 people. If you want something smaller, get the stuffed bread, which is basically just a smaller version of the stromboli. I usually get the sauce on the side so I can taste it more, but either way is fine.

Honestly, pizza is pizza to me. I love it all. It's never bad, however some places are better than others. This being said, I never really had a favorite pizza spot in Upper Darby - it was all pretty good stuff. However, I will forever go to Jano's for pizza. The reason: I went to Upper Darby High School. In order to graduate, you had to complete the "Graduation Project" requirements - you basically just had to do something that took 30 hours to do, document it, and then make a presentation for it. My project was holding a concert with all proceeds going to a pediatric cancer relief foundation. I asked just about every local store in the area if they would be interested in donating something to the event in exchange for me advertising their store as a sponsor. Only a few stores were interested, and they all generally contributed about $10 worth of goods (gift cards, samples, etc.), which was fine, as every little bit helped. However, Jano's hit a home run. Without hesitation, they donated ten extra-large pizzas for us to sell to the concert-goers. They even delivered them to the venue - asking for nothing in return. Despite having a heart of gold, this place has really awesome pizza! It's a classic Italian style, however the slices are enormous! Fantastic value, and really cool employees. They also have fridges upon fridges of various drinks (alcoholic and non) when you first walk in, which is pretty unique in this area. They have my business from here on out.

Best pizza spot in delco. I remember going to Janos while I was in St. Andrews and they would have the everyday special, a slice and a bottomless soda. Boy I have so many great memories from Janos. That was the hot spot to hang out at when we were kids. This place would be packed with 40 kids from various catholic schools. Was also a great place to try and hook up with girls lol. Even till this day I have never been disappointed with the food, the staff are really great people
