Went this morning for breakfast. First time there. Place appeared nice but food was horrible. Bacon and sausage had a weird taste. Worried that it was bad so we didn't eat it. Waitress was too busy talking to the table next to her about her dog to properly service our table. Went to pay check at the register. Lady was talking to another coworker. Didn't even look at us or ask us how the food was. She held out her hand for payment but I purposely held back to give her my card until she had to look at the register to tell us how much. After that she went right back to talking and didn't say another word to us. Will never go back. Doesn't even deserve the one star!

Our family stopped by on a Saturday night for a late dinner. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The menu was so extensive that it was hard to choose amongst the many choices. This is typical diner fare, and the food I'd say was a little better than average. The waitress gave us a bread basket to start. Bread did not taste freshly baked, but then again it was late at night. Our table had the turkey bacon club sandwich, fried chicken, and chicken tenders. Fries were tasty. Would like try their desserts if we ever visit again. The great service is what bumped our experience from a three to four star experience.

Been stopping here for a few years now. Breakfasts are usually good, service is good as well. Big portions. I would sacrifice the big portions for better quality. My mom was craving skme chicken croquettes. They had a great crust, the filling definitely need some work. Tasted like chicken flavored bread.

I am a regular - trying to get in at least once a month for a day off from cooking. It's relaxing. Can be very crowded at times. I have my favorite places to sit and will wait it out to get one of my spots. I try to get one of the waitresses I like, especially avoiding one that looks really gross to me - anorexic, scary makeup and little hair clips that look like sutures, real freaky. If I get her, I have to ignore the freakshow to enjoy my meal. Sorry to speak negatively of anything here. Hope she gets a clue and dials it down because she's a pretty attentive waitress. The owner is always nice. Large portions of great food will keep me coming back.

I eat here often. Service is good and quick and the food is very good for the price. Great dinner

Best diner around. It is my go to spot if I'm craving pancakes. Great banana pancakes... not too thin, not too thick, not too light, not too dense... just right. Good burgers and fries. Friendly service and the price is right. I have never been disappointed with this diner.

Price, quality, service. That's all we want in any dining experience whether it's breakfast or fine dining. Collegeville Diner delivers every time. My one minor complaint would be the waitress behind the counter during weekday mornings. What a grump!

If I'm going to eat diner food, this is where I go. Breakfasts especially are very good. Depending on the day and time, the line can be long for a table. Food is fast although waiting for that first contact with your server can often be a long wait. My only beef with this place is that when I eat at a diner, I like to eat at the counter (kind of a real diner thing to do). They usually have the same waitresses at the counter and few are friendly, in fact one is always pretty cranky. Don't let that stop you though, this is a good spot.

There menu just has about everything you could want from a diner. It took me like half an hour to make up my mind. I even stated to our waitress " this is the most difficult decision i ever had to make." (me) delicious food that hits the spot. You should probably check it out. They also have good sized slices of pie

We called ahead to warn them there would be 14 very hungry breakfast goers strolling in in 15 minutes. We walked in and they had a table set up for us and ready to go! Our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed at first, but once she realized we weren't going to bite or yell at her, she seemed to calm down. She was actually very attentive and made sure that we had everything that we needed or wanted. We were in and out in 40 minutes, which is pretty darn good in my book. 14 people, fed, and happy out the door on a Sunday morning in under an hour? I approve. Now on to the food. Holy moly! I'm almost positive we had ordered almost everything on the enormous breakfast menu. There were pancakes, omelets, french toast, and even cheese blintzes! I had an egg white omelet with mushrooms, onions, and American cheese. It was just the way I like it! Extra packed with ingredients and cheesy goodness. The french toast also was delicious (I stole a bite from a table-mate). I don't think anyone had any complaints about the food at all. Oh and the home fries! Peppery with sauteed onions in them and very flavorful. They finished them on the flattop so they were nice and crispy! Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Disgruntled Cook; We stopped in The Collegeville Diner Friday late morning for breakfast. The food was average but the service was good. We finished our meal, said thank you and tipped like we always do. When we got to our car there was a disgruntled individual sitting behind our car. I figured he was just a employee taking a break. He turned out to be the cook. This guy runs up to our car claiming that we scratched his car. We never touched it and quickly figured out that he was looking to submit a false insurance claim. He held our car door open and would not let us leave. He said he was calling the police so I pulled to the other side of the parking lot (to get away from him) to wait for the officer to arrive. The officer found no damage on either vehicle so he sent us on our way. The owner claimed that he would make it up to us because of his employees actions. When we called the diner to see what would be done, he claimed that he suspended the cook for 2 weeks and never offered us any compensation. We find this to be unacceptable. He should have been fired and brought up on charges. We will never eat there again especially with this nut job working there and I would NOT recommend this establishment to others.

We have come here numerous times in the past four years. the quality of the food has really gone down hill. Wait staff still attentive, cooks not so much. Same dude sitting in the front taking the money in as if he was taking in gold bars. Not sure how much longer this place is going to last.

Bad rating is 100% for the rudest hostess (I think the owner) I have ever run into! She refuses to look you in the eye, makes you think you are a nuisance and berates the waitresses in front of customers! It's decent diner food. Overpriced and not helping the obesity epidemic in this country.

Was just here with my parents, they love diners and hoped this was a good one. Fast friendly service, they sat us down, took our order, food arrived hot and plentiful. Ravioli, in Marinara with melted cheese. Not bad at all. Chicken Masala, huge plate of chicken seasoned with masala wine but no hint of lemon at all. Still not bad. Major problem; chunk of aluminum foil found in the sauce. When this was pointed out to our waitress it was rather awkward...no apology or offer to bring another dish. All she asked was if it was eaten or swallowed? (Obviously not). This is completely unsatisfactory in a restaurant. One other scam they pull here is the senior discount. Apparently not available on weekends. Still, we gave the place another chance and they did pretty good, breakfast and Greek salad. No problems and no aluminum foil in the food this time, however when the senior discount was requested (as per their rule of ONLY WEEKDAYS) the manager apparently is the only one authorized to give a senior discount and was conveniently unavailable until 4 pm. We were there at noon. So in review, food pretty good except for the aluminum foil and 1 star for the SENIOR DISCOUNT SCAM/ B.S. Give this place a 6-7 out of ten but we won't be back.

One of the best diner's in the area, it's either this or the one on Ridge, and let's be honest, that one is a bit of a disappointment... The service is pretty quick and pleasant, the desserts here are different from your regular diner (they have baklava!) but they also have the classics as well (so no fear). The food is diner food, which to me is good food. I think I was deprived of diner food as a child and as a result am making up for it now. I can't recall anything that was served badly at the diner, honestly, I love the menu. Great selection, great prices, great portions. I have sentimental attachment to this diner and always have to resist the urge to go there everyday when I'm back home.

Food was cold and the mealoaf sandwich was disappointing. I had high hopes but I won't be back. Service was fast so I dont understand why the food was so cold.

I have been here several times and always have good food and usually the servers are pretty friendly. They are always very busy but it's because they have good food. My wife loves the chicken salad and I usually try something different but their spinach pie is very good.

There aren't too many of the 60's and 70's-style diners left, but Collegeville Diner is one. Actually this one was built c. 1995 to replace the location it outgrew two blocks away and has a good many contemporary items on its menu as well. They truly have something for everyone--except pizza. If you're into fish, I tried their fried filet of Flounder sandwich. Not only was it huge, it was very tasty. Their burgers, beef and veggie, aren't bad either. I'm not a big fan of what they call "applesauce" and their garlic bread looks cheap to say the least. Maybe in Greece where the owners are from that's the way they make it, I don't know. Their breakfasts are OK for the money. Certainly better than McDonald's. While I have yet to try one, they also have a large selection of decadent cakes--and they probably taste as good as they look. The only thing I don't like about this place is the parking. If you have to turn left onto Main Street when you're finished dining . . . good luck, especially during rush hour. You could use the trail head across the street, but that isn't always a good idea either. If you go out Third Avenue in the direction of the Wawa to the first entrance on the left, you can park at the far end of that lot and walk the trail to the diner. That way you can use the traffic light to access Main Street when you leave. The service here is professional, friendly, and usually fast. I come here 3-4 times a year and will continue to do so.

I think I would give them a 2.5 if I could. Yes, I agree that diners are not meant to be gourmet, but the food just seems like below average diner food. It is a bit bland, I guess. The service is average, not always as quick as it should be. I was here quite a few times due to its convenient location to Ursinus. Do not expect to be WOWed when you eat here, just expect to have a full stomach.

I went here this morning and was very pleased with the overall experience. We were seated immediately and our waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering. I ordered an egg white omelette with mushrooms and cheese, and my father ordered pancakes. Our food came out pretty fast and was reasonably priced. Unlike a lot of diners I've been to, the portions weren't laughably humongous. My omelette was fluffy and was actually oozing little rivulets of butter from its folds, and the cheese was perfectly melted. The mushrooms were from a can, but what else did I expect. The homefries were basic potatoes, nothing special. My dad's pancakes were fluffy and well-cooked, and again were large but nothing unmanageable. I would definitely go here again, the atmosphere is relaxing enough and the food is decent.

First, I'll say that I'm not a huge fan of diners in general and avoid them as much as possible. With that being said, Collegeville Diner wasn't that bad. My brother and I stopped in late on a weeknight simply to put some "no frills" calories in our bodies and they delivered in that department. They're open 24 hours a day which was handy and the servers were friendly enough for 11pm on a Wednesday. The menu is absolutely one of the biggest menus I've ever seen anywhere and If you want to look at the whole thing, you're gonna be there a while. There must have been 300 items or more. I had already decided on my "safe" diner choice of pancakes before I sat down so it wasn't a problem deciding for me and my brother kinda gave up after looking at the menu for ten minutes and just ordered a hamburger. Our food came out quick and my pancakes were acceptable. The ham I got on the side was tough and bland but it was edible. My bro's burger was good for him although it was a bit pink in the center which I'm a little wary of when at a diner but he didn't have any problems, so all in all it was a successful stop and we lived to eat another day. I would theoretically stop in again

My girlfriend and I have been here often, though we live a good 45-60 minutes away. Every visit here has been superb. We are seated right away, nearly every visit. The wait staff are always very attentive, and very friendly. Management is always smiling and making sure our meal was great. I can't say we've ever spent more than 1 hour here, unless we wanted it that way. Super fast service all around. I know this is a "Diner", but all the food we have had here has never been on your typical diner level. It has been on par with normal restaurant fare, since the first time I visited here, when I lived in Lower Providence back in 2003. I was reluctant to try the seafood, as it's a diner, but I gave in and tried their broiled combination platter. The scallops were great, not rubbery at all. The shrimp were lightly breaded and were great with the cocktail sauce. The Tilapia & crab cakes were mouth watering, and fell apart as you cut them - exactly how I prefer. The tuna was cooked well and tasted great. No salt needed. Everything on this platter was great. Their burgers are tasty and cooked properly. Their side dishes have always been something we enjoyed as well. The fries are your typical diner fries - nice and crispy. If you're in the area, and want a quick and tasty bite to eat, check out the Collegeville Diner!

This place has alot of seating, too much in the way back though very cramped! However The food is excellent for being what it is, diner food. I was very impressed at their adaptability though when I ordered something a little unusual. I arrived wanting breakfast, but also craving a gyro......so I did what any upstanding American would do! Combine them! So needless to say not 10 min later out comes my custom gyro omelet complete with awesome sauce and everything! Please do yourself a favor and eat here, just dont sit in the back if you can avoid it.

As far as diners go, they have the usual diner fare. The menu and portion sizes are HUGE. They also have an onsite bakery and have the baked goods displayed prominently as you walk in. (if you have kids, be prepared to buy them a Cookie Monster or Elmo cupcake before you leave.) The building is newer and cleaner than most diners I've been to, and seating is abundant, so you'll never wait long for a table. The food is ok, I guess, but nothing special. The breakfast foods are considerably better than their standard lunch or dinner fare. The last time we were there, every one of us (2 adults, 4 kids) found hair in our food. As a result, my kids call this place "The Hairy Diner." Service is usually cordial but unfriendly. I have found the waitresses to be nicer and more attentive to the customers than the waiters. I'm really not sure why, but there is a noticeable difference. I think the reason this place does so well is because there are limited diner options in the area. I don't think they would survive in South Philly or NJ.

Great diner. Nothing more or less, but if you are in the mood for diner food it's pretty good stuff! The owners are always on-site, ensuring that customers are happy and that orders are correct. Well-done. Always consistent quality food, and large portions.

Food is always great. Service not so much. Even during slow times of the day the service is slow. As long as you aren't in a hurry I definitely recommend this place. The quality of the food is out of this world, and the portions are pretty large. Lastly the price you pay for the food is pretty good considering the generous portions.

  • Charles S.

I can't for the life of me figure out the popularity of this place. The food is overpriced and mediocre. We went for breakfast recently and I left 3/4 of my pancakes because they were tasteless. The bacon was burned to a charred crisp. On the plus side, it is always open and the service is generally pleasant (athough it generally takes a .long time for the food to come out). If you come here and there's a wait for a table, you may want to try the new breakfast place a minute down the road adjacent to the Collegeville Pit Stop.

Generally speaking this was a great diner. Nothing stood out though. We enjoyed all our food and the service was great. I was impressed with how fast we were seated--especially considering it was a Sunday morning.

Second time in here on the late night shift, first time with a group of 6.... Waiter insulted all of us, told me I speak like I'm gay, told my nephew to let his girl friend speak she has a mouth, and the insults kept coming. complained to the owners brother and he was very nice and apologetic, sent us over a older waitress and the rest of the night was fine.... Thought ok I'm gonna give it one more try last night, we received the same waiter, insult after insult can't believe he is still there. I kept my mouth shut cause I didn't want to make a scene. He must be a family member cause why he still has his job is beyond me!!!!! Needless to say I will never return, I don't go out to eat to be treated like that. Pretty bad to cause I could walk there to eat that's how close I live but I'd rather drive 30 miles the other way, plus I work in the public and you better believe I tell everyone my experience. The only thing I wish I would have gotten is the waiters name so I could blow him up on here, he is a very ignorant person and I can't believe he still works there!!!!! My bill was $60.00 last night and I left him a penny and he didn't deserve that, hope he got the hint!

I was here last week after a hike with some friends. This was the perfect place to grab lunch after our hike. I had the reuben sandwich on rye which was good. It was a little smaller than the ones I get at Pumpernick's but the price reflected the smaller portion. It came with a pickle and potato chips on the side. Quick service and friendly staff. How does this compare to Pumpernick's? You can't compare since this is pretty much a mom and pop diner and no wait. Usually, Pumpernick's is packed it's hard to get a table and takes a while for take-out. Overall, I think this ranks as much better to diners I have been too. A wide variety of selection for breakfast and lunch. I loved the dessert glass case and wished that I had room for cake. Maybe next time... Prime location being in downtown Collegeville and nearby Ursinus College.

My 2 star rating is an average of 4 visits. One visit was dreadful, and another was okay. Go figure. The service was okay on 3 out of 4 visits. I enjoyed the bagel and lox plate. Perfect! I found a different story on the side salad. Don't bother with it. It is worthless iceberg lettuce and not much more. The cheesesteak was also a disappointment. No juice...it was very pedestrian. Another disappointment was the stuffed grape leaves; obviously canned and covered with a briney slime. The cooked food is below average. The breakfast dishes were okay. Good coffee. Unhappy guy at the cashier station. SMILE...it would become you!

Went for breakfast. First the good - SOS was really good. Home fries were crispy and very tasty. The bad - too many tables jammed into the main dining room. Getting to a table in the back corner proved to be tricky at best. Having that many tables also creates a major noise factor. The major noise factor caused our server to mess up the order. All in all, not bad. We'll go back there again.

As far as diners go, it has a long ways to go to be impressive. The food is okay, but the service is terrible. Although, like all good diners, they do have awesome milkshakes.

My wife and I frequent this rather large diner when we're in the Collegeville area for dinner. I absolutely love their Athenian Greek Salad and their Reuben (With slaw instead of kraut) is a close second. Some of their "main course" dinners are a little weak and diner-like, but their Greek food and sandwiches are well worth the visit and price.

The aura of this diner really beat most others I've been to (Limerick Diner, get your act together). Like my colleague Mike Y. said, the menu was very extensive. I had sort of an epiphany when I finally realized what I wanted, Everything just clicked. The Waitress would also have made a great Mii. Reuben Burger highly recommended.

Sometimes I wonder if restaurant owners are making sure that the wait staff they have actually give a crap enough so that people will want to come back. The last two times I've been here the service has been absolutely terrible. Both times it was for lunch and both times it was a different male waiter - not that it matters, just pointing it out. The first time the guy would disappear for long stretches and he had the personality of a dishrag. He seemed miserable to be working. Today I went here for lunch with some coworkers and our server wasn't miserable but he spent the bulk of the time we were there on the other side of the room, leaning against the wall, talking to another male waiter. Rolls that were supposed to come with our dinner - not given until we asked where they were, drink refills - asked for them but never got them, check on us part way through the meal to see if we needed anything - nope, dessert that was supposed to come with the meal - also didn't get it. We were running short on time since he spent so much time talking to the other waiter and we were fed up with watching him lean against the wall so we just left without our desserts. I noticed a young woman that was waitressing and she was buzzing around to her tables, checking on them, refilling their drinks, etc. How I wished she had been our waitress. It's a shame that I have to amend my review of the diner but I've given them a couple of chances now and they let me down.

Busy diner with fast service. I ordered a mixed grille omelet which consists of bacon, sausage and ham; included a side of home fries. This place pumps out food like I've never seen before. It took about 5 minutes after I ordered to get my food despite the fact that this place was super busy. It was delicious and quick.

  • Jess F.

This is the place that made my snob-self like diner food. I go here every once and a while for breakfast or lunch and am never disappointed. The food is good, it's nothing miraculous but the reason I like it so much is the number of healthy choice items on the menu that you wouldn't expect to see at diner. Sometimes I go on health kicks and care about these things. The rest of the time though, anything fried of course if great :)

  • Statia M.

Realize that in the end, this is a diner. The food is typical diner food. But, there's a great selection, it's not terribly expensive and the service is fast. I love that the menu has enough variety to satisfy everyone. My son, lover of all things pancake, can have his fix, as well as steal the fries off my plate. It blows his frickin' toddler mind to see his two most favorite foods ever on the same table AT THE SAME TIME. It's like me and bacon, which speaking of, they also have bacon, and gyros. If I so desired, I could get both a gyro AND a side of bacon, and my mama brain would explode. Because it's a diner, it always seems crowded, probably because everyone else has the same idea. OK food, and everyone gets what they want. WIN.

Being originally from New Jersey, the Diner capital of the universe, I recently relocated to Collegeville, Pa. Right around the corner from where I live is the Collegeville Diner. I Can consider myself a connoisseur of diner's, having spent many a long night in them eating breakfast foods at 3am. This Diner is wonderful in most respects. As long as you don't mind waiting on weekend mornings for a table, you should have no problems. The food is good for a diner. When you special order something, they usually get it right. The wait staff tends to be slightly neglectful of drink refills, especially when they get busy. Personal Recommendation- Blueberry Waffles and a Nice large OJ. I would suggest opting for the fresh blueberries, not the 'glazed' kind, which is actually just blueberry pie filling and will leave you in a horrendous food coma. Eggs are cooked properly to order, bacon is hit or miss. Pastries are absolutely to die for and the brownies at the counter are the size of an Encyclopedia Brittanica. Overall a big thumbs up. 4 stars, merely due to the waitstaff's propensity to be forgetful of checking up on your table. Try going on a Mon-Thurs morning to get the best experience.

Great place for breakfast. They are usually crowded on the weekend, but the line does move quickly. We usually only wait about 5 minutes or so for a table, even when they are jammed. Omelettes are very good. Service is friendly and quick.

Been to this diner quite a few times, and hopefully my last. Every time I go, I'm hoping the food will taste better then the last time I went. I was a cook in the Navy, and while I wasn't the best cook in the world, I never made a bad breakfast. You would think nobody could do a bad breakfast, but these cooks seem to do so. For example..Cook the damn breakfast sausage please! Slightly browning sausage just doesn't cut it. Think about what sausage is..then think of the reasons why you should COOK it all the way. The french toast is very bland..not a good taste at all. Your home fries/potatoes have no taste at all. Plus, there is no reason in the world to give a person 3/4 of a plate of potatoes! Tommy Moes, LImerick Diner, Ava's make a better breakfast then this place.

We wrapped up visit to Pennsylvania with a Sunday morning trip to the Collegeville Diner. The silver metalic exterior was very promising -- it looks like diner in Queens. The restaurant is big and crowded but we were lucky to arrive just before church let out, so we were able to sit down at the counter right away. Our server was friendly in that special diner-waitress way. We received generous portions of eggs and homefries. They were fantastic -- best homefries ever. The coffee was fresh and hot. We were a little disappointed in the biscuits. Based on the appearance of the place, we expected them to be perfect, but they were a little dry. I was tempted to order pie -- the pies looked fantastic -- but I refrained. I'll try one next time.

We stop here for breakfast before heading out for long drives on the bike trail. We like the fact that they have bike racks outside. We just went there yesterday morning. I've read other reviews here about the staff so I wanted to point out that our waitress was excellent. I used to wait tables so one of my pet peeves is inattentive and inefficient wait staff. Our waitress appeared at our table within 60 seconds of being seated. She always made the rounds of ALL the tables when she came out, the sign of efficiency. She would peek from the place where the staff waits for food to see if anyone needed anything. I give her an A-Plus. I think the staff is very well trained, at least our waitress was. I noticed they wash their hands frequently too. Keep up the good work. If all the servers aren't as deserving of such applause, then I hope they will read this and try to emulate this type of service because people DO notice. Can't really speak for lunch or dinner, but breakfast is always satisfying and enjoyable.

This is an update based on a recent dinner I had here. Me and my daughter rode our bikes here on the Perkiomen trail, and had dinner with her Grandmother. I enjoyed my grilled salmon salad, Granmom liked her lasagna, and my kid scarfed down the fries and a burger. The service was really good, and I'm going to have to upgrade my rating. My previous ratings were for breakfast exclusively and it seems that when it comes to breakfast, I am not easily satisfied.

Very nice waiters and staff, they've always been so great. Portions are very big and prices aren't too bad at all. Location is perfect right on the corner there, plenty of parking behind the restaurant. It's a great family restaurant, I've never had to wait too long at all to get in there even with big parties on a Friday night. Alot better than the Limerick Diner right up the road from there. I feel that I need to relate a few less than kosher experiences there. On one occasion, my pancakes kept having a metallic taste. I'd send them back and tell them about the taste and they'd give me new pancakes, still with a metallic taste. Turns out that they were giving me pancakes made with spoiled batter. Ew, right? I'll never forget that taste. On another occasion, they didn't send out the home fries I had ordered. It took quite a long time for them to ultimately get the home fries to me and by the time they came, I had finished my breakfast. To put a cherry on top, when they came, there was some sort of hair in them, like a chest hair or something (I keep telling myself "it was a chest hair, nothing else" but it was nasty). That kept us from going back for quite awhile and our attendance there hasn't been the same since. Also, this place needs to be more on the ball with filling coffee cups. A coffee cup at a diner should NEVER be empty. Cardinal sin, hehe. I always need to ask for a refill. Tsk, tsk. Some of my favorite dishes: Rigatoni with tomato sauce (very very good, lots of food) Chicken Sandwich with fries (large, hearty fresh-cooked chicken breast, doesn't look like it was taken from a freezer).

Updated review: Has been terrible the last four times we were there. We observed that the food served to the patrons seated near us looked like a congealed mess. My wife's turkey was nearly inedible. When I asked why toast was burnt to a crisp (just one of the many mistakes in the kitchen) I was told "that's the way people like it"!! It seems that it, like some of the other local diners, spends huge sums on ceramic tile, chrome and glass then serves awful food. I'd rather go almost anyplace, now.

I think for a diner, it is very good. Large portions, fairly priced and overall decent stuff. But, one must remember it is only a diner. Breakfast is my favorite here, but I also do like their Club sandwiches and Chicken Croquets- which are some of the best around. Service has always been iffy here. Lots of servers with no personality and just basic serving skills. Lately, though, they seem to be getting better with who they hire and it makes for a more pleasant experience. One thing I don't like about this place, however, is their desserts. Made the mistake of getting a slice of cake one time, when I first went there a few years back, and it was horrible. It was dry and tasteless. Otherwise, no real complaints.

This is our go to place for a quick weekend breakfast. It can get a bit crowded by I have not seen more than a 10 min wait, even though the waiting area might be full. The service is friendly, efficient and "old school". The food is delicious and the kitchen is fast. Besides the usual breakfast favs (omelets, eggs benedict, etc), the Moussaka and Gryo are also great.

This is an excuse for a Diner. New Jersey you have nothing to worry about from this place. There are not a lot of places opened as late as this Diner in Collegeville so ,basically it's here or the WAWA at night. .I had a decent Chicken Parm warm and gooey with cheese and sauce, but it was served with over cooked, room temp.pasta! Ate the meat and salad parts of my meal, leaving the cold pasta for later to meet up with my microwave. I wrapped the pasta and leftover chicken, brought it home to nuke for a late night snack.. I really questioned why I bothered since reheating the leftover did nothing to improve the food.. The salad that came with the dinner was just a mediocre salad, no effort or finesse is put into any of the food , I have eaten here out of necessity rather than choice .The service really sucked all 3 times I have eaten here .Our waiter couldn't get it together enough to bring everything out even close to the same time. This dude was not happy to be there and made no attempt to hide this fact. Not Good.

The thing is, this is really a great Greek restaurant that poses as a diner. They have a varied menu, and you don't have to eat Greek. But that would be a mistake, as the Greek food is consistently good.

Allow me to start by saying that I have recently moved to the Collegeville area. I've also only recently been made aware of Yelp (thanks Lee). This will be my first of many reviews so please bear with me if its not up to yelping standards. As far as 24-hour diner food goes, this place gets the full 5 stars. I arrived at 10:30am on a Friday and was immediately greeted and seated by a smiling host. My pleasant waitress arrived shortly after I was seated to take my drink order. The drink (diet coke w/ no lemon) was presented to me in a HUGE glass (maybe 24 oz.). With regards to the menu, there were a lot of options; exactly what one would expect at a diner. See the website for the menu. I wasn't incredibly turned on by the "Super Breakfast Specials" section, but the menu does have a serious omelet selection. After some deliberation, I ordered the Pancake Deluxe with scrambled eggs, scrapple and a side of wheat toast. While I waited for my meal, I had a chance to make some general observations. The booth section of the diner was full; however the noise level was quite low. The back dining area was mostly empty and the bar area was full. Overall it was generally crowded, yet the atmosphere felt open and non-crowded. There was no stupid background music playing (a pet peeve of mine). My table and immediate area were very clean. The meal arrived in 5 minutes! I was thoroughly impressed with the turnaround time on my order. The pancakes were nicely sized, golden brown and delectable. The butter came in single serving packets and was a little on the cold/frozen side (this somewhat bothers me). The syrup also came in (Kraft) single serving packets as opposed to the pitcher method at your local ihop. The eggs were fine and the scrapple was crisp on the outside and soft and tender on the inside (exactly how it should be for those not familiar with scrapple). I tore into my meal and ate every last morsel. Throughout the meal, my waitress paid attention to me - just enough but not too much. My gigantic drink was refilled before it became empty and she brought out the bill at just the right time. After paying at the cashier, I left at 11:00am with a full tummy and a smile on my face. There were a lot of older people in the diner and many of the waitresses, the host and cashier knew them by name. I want to be one of the (albeit younger) regulars and this will be my new local diner. Random comments that don't really matter: I didn't like the entrance into the parking lot. It was narrow and twisted like a cheap drive-through lane. The table at which I was seated was a bit wobbly; however that is a common occurrence almost everywhere.

Cool place and atmosphere is about the best you'll do. Of the handful of times I've eaten here I've never been very happy with my food. From the dinners to the over priced deserts, I've not been able to find any go to items. What really did the place in for me was one night a group of us went out to grab desert after grilling out. The pie and cake we ordered was obviously frozen too long and was dried out and not work the trip out there. I have had breakfast at the diner and it was fine, but nothing exceptional. Even if you live in collegeville, make the trip to Skippack and eat at Mal's.

Mediocre diner. Pretty clean and nice look outside with the polished stone tiles (marble? granite? not really sure). But what counts, the food - their menu is super-extensive which I happen to think is a bad thing - jack of all trades, master of none, and what not. It's hard to pick out a meal and when asked, the staff I met don't seem consistent in picking out what the place is good at. The several dinners I had I wondered if it was frozen food reheated, never had a breakfast there. Service can be iffy. Sometimes had to wait a long time to get a waiter/waittress, at some visits they clustered around and chatted with each other, making the customers wait, owner/manager there tolerates that behavior. As a hangout, I guess it's decent, but for those in a hurry or just want a good meal, go elsewhere.

It's a little pricier than other diners in the area, but it's well worth the few extra $'s. I've had probably the best bacon and sausage omelet ever at 3am after a night of a heavily concentrated liquid beverages. The staff is always courteous and the food is always great (even when enjoying sober). Sorry to hear about the girl being harassed as I've always been more of a lively drunk myself (the nonviolent type). Anyways I was digressing, all in all the Collegeville diner is my pick above Limerick and the diner in Trappe (not sure what the name is now).

I can only give this four stars because, although they have the bomb-diggity of a menu and really tasty food, they are severely lacking in haggis.

I've been wanting to stop in here ever since it opened but the parking lot always seemed overflowing. Finally got brave and stopped in, only to find that the parking lot is used for other shops in that vicinity also. So don't let a crowded parking lot detur you from eating here! First off, the first sight you will see is a mass of picture perfect deserts staring you in the face. Second? The menu. Oh my! You could be there for 5-10 minutes just deciding! Foods of every variety/ethnicity/culture you could imagine. Me? I went with an All American Hot Ham & Cheese with Cheese Fries. BF had breakfast foods. Both plates arrived super fast for the amount of people in there. His plate was heaping with pancakes, toasts, and bacon. My meal was also perfect! Waitress didn't have to write down the orders and check arrived promptly when it should have! Prices are right! CONS: Tables were kind of close where I was sitting, I practically had someone elses arm on my table. No biggie. Parking lot is awkward to get in/out of.

We LOVE going here with our family for casual meals...VERY kid friendly (ours is 2) and the meals are consistently great. Yummy pancakes, the best chicken kabobs, a good burger, and nice wraps too. The sandwhiches are very ample and we almost always take home half for lunch the next day. The kabobs are enough for 3 meals!

The food is nothing to write home about. My gyro was competently prepared. Good french fries. Buffalo wings would have been very good, except they were undercooked. The BF and I decided to share a Napoleon from the dessert case. Big mistake. Stale and pasty. Our server was nice enough, but disappeared. We were left stranded, needing extra napkins. No napkin dispensers at the table. Overall, it's one of those diners that tries to go upscale with an enormous fanciful menu. Stick to ordering the basics if you do not want to be disappointed.

My parents took me here while I was visiting earlier this month. The choices were amazing. I mean, you could spend an entire night just reading the menu. I got the spanakopita and while it was not my nana's spanakopita, it was really freaking good and it came with feta cheese and dolmas and a salad. I also got an order of dolmas, not knowing that some would come with my spanakopita. They were better than some, but not as good as others. Oh, and my meal came with a choice of desserts. At my dad's recommendation, I got the rice pudding and it was really, really good, plus they put whipped cream on it. It was more food than any one person could eat, so we took stuff home for my brother. Oh and our waitress was so nice.

I've visited this diner a few times in the past couple of months, as it has become one of my favorite spots for decent diner food at a reasonable price. The omelettes are very good, always cooked to perfection, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The baked goods always look exceptional, but unfortunately the few I've tried have not been as fresh as I'd like. But, i will continue going back for the breakfast items, for sure.

If portion size was the only barometer for how many stars a restaurant gets then this diner would get a 10. But fortunately for us there are other factors that figure into the star rating namely quality and cleanliness. Now, don't get me wrong I gave it 2 stars which means it's okay but it's just not good. The quality of the food is typical diner quality except for the fact that there's a family of flies that constantly hover around your food. Get rid of the legions of flies and maybe I'll come back otherwise it's only 2 stars for this diner.

When going to a local diner - go safe - short stack with eggs and bacon. I unfortunately ventured out and order the "crab" stuff tilapia. "crab" stuff being mayo and bread crumbs. Costumer service is a minus as there is none - I don't seek this diner out that's for sure.

Stopped here for a late lunch and was very pleased with what I saw. The entire staff was nice including our server who made sure we were happy with everything. The entire restaurant was super clean including the bathroom. The menu was enormous so I'm sure you can find what you want here. I got a sandwich and really don't have anything bad to say about it. It tasted good and was a large portion and was very quick. This is a great place to stop in the area. I will return next time I am around.

This is based on a first time visit for me and a third time visit for the rest of my family. First thing I have to say is.. if you can't find something to your taste on this extensive menu, I'll be surprised. The variety is endless and it was difficult to narrow it down. I know my family loves their breakfast menu the most, but I was ordering for dinner and chose from the sea food section. I was not disappointed in the least. I ordered the broiled seafood combo platter, which cost $20.00 in round figures but was worth every penny. The portions were so generous that I made two meals out of it. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the crab cake simply delicious. The only item that wasn't perfect for me was the shrimp... although tasty, they were a little chewy. Not enough of a quibble to keep me from ordering the same thing again. The sides with my dinner included mashed potatoes and white gravy (my favorite) and glazed carrots. The portions were also generous and the potatoes and gravy obviously homemade and delicious. The carrots themselves were very good but the sauce on them was too generous and way, way too sweet. I simply separated the carrots from the pool of sauce and was then very content. And now for the number one item that I ordered... the to-die-for French Onion Soup! I could make an entire meal just out of several bowls of this soup. It is full-bodied, rich, totally chock full of sweet onions, and topped with a generous potion of melty cheese. I will order this item with every single visit to the diner, which my daughter tells me will be at least once or twice a month since it is a one hour drive from our home. Now for the desserts. I ordered the bread pudding, which is one of my all time favorites. It is a dish that you never know what to expect since it is made in hundreds of different ways. This one was not at the top of my list of favorites, but certainly sat comfortably near the top. The best part of the dessert was the golden raisins, but it sorely missed the perfect sauce to accompany it. However, I must add that my children and grown grandchildren are extremely fond of desserts and have only the highest praise for the ones found here, especially the cakes... the black forest cake being number one on the list. I have a feeling that subsequent visits and a sampling of more of the variety of choices on the menu will add another half star to my review in the future. This one is definitely a keeper.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was abundant, and solid! The menu is several pages long, so have an idea of what you feel like before you visit, if you're in a hurry, because it could take awhile perusing all the selections. Breakfast is always available, and they have dinner specials, as well, all at a very decent price. I had the Athenian salad (Greek salad with chicken) and it was really tasty -- and plenty for a whole leftover meal. The place was busy but our food arrived quickly. They have some tasty-looking desserts, but alas, no room! All in all, a solid place when you're looking for diner food that's real food you won't regret the next day -- unless you overeat and order dessert! Open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday, until midnight Sunday through Thursday.

When I ordered red velvet pancakes I expected them to be red. They weren't. That doesn't mean I didn't like them because they were good. Loved the sweet cream cheese layered within the chocolate chip pancakes. My main issue was the service. Drinks sat empty for half the meal and napkins where nowhere to be found. While the food was ok the service is what really did this place in. There were 9 of us so I would think they would have stopped by to make sure everything was ok and no one needed anything but that didn't happen.

One of my favorite diners in town! It's always here for you at 3am on a Saturday when you need a quick bite and they also serve delicious breakfast and other types of food! I love it! And the owners are very very nice as well.

Two of the three meals had multiple black hairs in them. When I pointed it out to the manager, she was very defensive and argued and said it couldn't be from the kitchen because the cooks didn't have black hair

I ate dinner there last week and I was so impressed with the portions and the selection of the food in the menu. They were busy but my food came quickly and hot. The waitress was so nice I made a mistake on my order and she corrected it and didn't charge me for my mistake. The food was excellent!
