I shouldn't have gone here. I read the reviews and took a shot anyway. Bad decision. Pros: Wait staff is WONDERFUL. Got food quickly. Very attentive. Cons: Food well below average. More like going to a Ponderosa or Hoss's. For the money, I'd expect something more along the lines of Outback or Lonestar. The 7 oz sirloin steak was thin sliced and overcooked. I didn't feel like sending it back. It did have a charcoal grilled taste. The ONLY green vegetable I could have included as a side dish was spinach with bacon and onions! Had to pay $3.00 extra for a side salad. That "honey butter" didn't taste like butter. Maybe margarine?" Rolls were okay. HUGE baked potato, again with non-buttery tasting butter. And I'm sorry, but for a place that caters to people from all over, having to see right off a stupid sign that said "God, Guns and Guts," three things that made America strong, or words to that effect, I felt alienated right off. How a steakhouse can serve such lousy, improperly cooked steak is beyond me. Fool me once ...

The RRR Roadhouse in Clarion has a rather odd smattering of cliental. There are the locals, people traveling on I-80, and college students who have convinced their parents to take them out for dinner. Honestly, locals in this area expect small town service, which is far too personal and creepy for my taste. This place has a bit more of a corporate restaurant chain feel, but I'd rather get my food quickly and enjoy eating with the people I came there with. If you want actual ambiance, drive to a city. The food is fine. This place is comparable price and taste wise to a Red Robin or similar type of burger/steak chain. For the area, the prices are high, but they really are not that terrible. They get their beef locally, and I've never had a bad meal. It's not going to be a memorable meal, but you also won't hate your life afterwards either. I would say play it safe and get a burger here. I think a 1/2 pound Cheeseburger is $9.99. In a small town, I don't mess around with upscale dishes. They just don't usually come out well. However, my father ordered shrimp here twice, and he was really happy with it. And to all of the people complaining about salad out of a bag and frozen burger patties... have you ever worked in a restaurant? It's a RARITY that that isn't the case... even in upscale restaurants. Do your research.

The customer service is very good and your waitress was very helpful with the menu. I ordered the "Porterhouse Steak" that was a very thin cut. Where the problem was... The Chef has no idea how to cook a steak medium-rare! The first steak came medium-well and they replaced it with a steak that was once again overcooked. I understand that the other people in my party that didn't order a steak, enjoyed their meal. They do serve a very large glass of cold beer that helped me wash down the overcooked steak!!!

Good service, great food, reasonable prices, casual atmosphere. What's not to love? They serve rolls with honey butter that is amazing. They have paper on the table which is great for kids and they have peanuts for the table. The service is good but not too intense. The only thing is it can be hard to order. You kind of have to piece together what you want instead of it coming together.

Food is good but heavy on the deep frying. Our service started out good but then our waitress disappeared and j actually had to ask another employee to have our waitress come back to our table.

First, I have eaten at this place once a year for the last 3 years and most times the service and food are both pretty decent. My review is basically summarizing my experiences from throughout the restaurant. Dining room experience: wait staff is good and attentive Bar staff for booths: not good. bartenders didn't pay attention to tables and seemed clueless how to serve tables. Only seemed interested in serving drinks. We had to track her down to pay our bill and actually had to find another waiter to be able to pay our bill. We saw her talking at the register with what seemed like a friend rather than wait on us. She actually looked over at us (as we all stared at her with our checks) and she didn't come over to take our checks. Food: not bad, yet not amazing. The rolls they bring are pretty good and they have peanuts on the table. In my most recent trip, my father and I both got French Onion soup and by the end of the meal, we both thought we were going to get sick (I actually had to walk outside and sit on their bench). The feeling passed after a few minutes and we were fine, but that was the only thing we had in common with our meal and we both had the same feeling. If I were basing the review solely off the recent visit sitting in the bar, it would be a 2 star at best. The previous meals where we sat in the dining room, I would rate it as high as a 4 star so that is why I'm averaging to 3 stars.

Came into Roadhouse on a Monday night. They were slammed. But were short one staff member. This threw the entire operation into chaos apparently. We were told the order would take 30 minutes to get to us. After 30 minutes and no food. It turns out that the order had never been entered. One waitress was so frustrated said she was done serving tables to not seat her anymore. All these conversations going on in front of customers. I was told that the owner decided not to franchise because he could do it better. Well Bud, apparently you cannot.

So back to their opening day. sweet potato went back 5 times . Was not even slightly baked. This was for all four of us at our table. The steaks were all opposite of what we each ordered. Since that I try to go back with various friends family different times. just one question how does a steak place run out of steak or other times potatoes? Each time out of something. Quality is extremely bad on food and availability. Please save your bucks unless you have no idea of what quality food is. Owners need to focus on one adventure and do one thing well as opposed to having a ton of places and do nothing good. Sorry kept trying but we won't give it any more shots and Dave our bucks

Okay if your from the South, primarily Texas, then you will notice just how much this place will remind you of Willie Nelson's Texas Roadhouse. All the way down to the wood design inside, free peanuts that you eat on the table and dump on the floor menu, and honey cinnamon butter and rolls. I don't know which one came first, but it's almost identical. The waitresses were really nice and took great care of us. We had a trainee and we saw her more than her trainer. The food was okay. We all got steaks and the complimentary green beans and a side. The steaks, even filets were small and tough. There is no way two of us got an 8oz. Filet. Maybe combined together they equaled out to 8 oz.s pre cook, but not separate. Even the 12 oz sirloin looked small. The green beans were very bland with no seasoning, tasted straight out of a can. I got the sweet potato and that thing took up an entire dinner plate. This sucker was huge!!! And they don't give you any extra butter or brown sugar so it was also extremely bland. I had three m dezee or whatever they were called and they were overpowered by the juice that you could not taste anything but that. A big menu selection and cheap prices but the food was just something to eat after a long day, nothing to special.

Well, where to start. We arrived at around 930 on a Saturday night. There was no one at the host stand, at least 3 servers looked at us, but no one sat us. As we were waiting for a host, a server was sweeping up the peanut shells while people were still eating around her sweeping area. We finally got a booth and they said the wait was due to their being busy earlier and had to clear a table. BUT there was a TON of cleared/cleaned tables they could have used. The server was extremely nice and approached our table right away. I got the sampler and it was HUGE. Don't get a meal in addition to this! The half rack of ribs was also very good and the meat just fell off the bones. After the initial issues, it was a good dining experience.

We have seen this place a few times when traveling and decided to stop in. Wow, the food here is excellent and service matches the food quality. We will be sure to stop here again next time we are driving through. Looking forward to those warm rolls and honey butter again.. Mmm!

I think a lot of people who write reviews of these restaurants just like to complain!! We found the Roadhouse in Clarion to have excellent food & great service!! If you don't like the peanut shells on the floor & the atmosphere, get over it & eat somewhere else!! The food is great & the price compares to any other restaurant. I did have the small plate cod & fries though which was cheaper, but I don't know how it could be called small because I couldn't even eat 1/2 the fries there was so much. The fries with gravy were great. I ordered a side of broccoli & cheese and it was wonderful. Husband had the small lasagna & liked it. My son had the beef tips & mashed potatoes & gravy and really enjoyed his meal. The rolls with honey butter were great. We went on a Friday night so the wait for the food was a little while but nothing extreme. We were checked on several times while we waited for our food to see if we needed anything else, drinks, more rolls. We were definitely not ignored. Will definitely go back and can't believe we have never went here in the past. I always heard it was really expensive but this is not true!! Everywhere you go these days is expensive, even a meal at a fast restaurant which I would rather not eat.

After so many people told me that this is the place to go in clarion even though they are expensive I finally went there and won't go back again. I ordered a pork chop with baked potato and broccoli. The pork chop was dry and tough and very small, smaller than the potato lol , broccoli was plain no seasoning on there just steamed. Service took a while and the floor was really dirty, I understand they serve whole peanuts but still it wouldn't hurt to pick up a broom and clean this mess up. Sad to say my expectations were way too high, very dissapointed :(

There are lots of people in Clarion that have been brainwashed into thinking that this place has great steaks. The steaks here are bland and not worth your time but the ribs are delicious and tender. I cannot remember the last time I ate dinner here because its just not worth my time, and I live in Clarion. Sad as this is to say, Applebee's across the street has better steaks. The atmosphere here is very relaxed (to the point of being unsettling) with patrons throwing peanut shells on the floor and the restaurant basically making you feel like your eating in a barn without a roof.

Disappointing, Have enjoyed this Restaurant in the past but my last 2 visits were real let downs. Latest visit was about 6:45 this evening. Walked in on a Friday Night and wow, No Wait. That should have tipped us off. After being ignored by the Hostess for about 5 minutes while they chatted with friends, we were seated and from that point till exiting the building it was no longer than 40 minutes, Talk about rushed. Salad came, not what we ordered but fresh after we ate about 1/2 our salad, wham, Entre was on the table. The waitress threw it on the table so quickly about 1/4 of my fries skidded off the plate. Had the Roast Chicken, Rubbery. My Wife had the "Cod" or so the menu said, it was just a piece of greasy soft batter with a small piece of fish inside. Only time the Waitresss topped by was to ask if we wanted dessert and dropped the check. Last Visit for us.

After seemingly what was ETERNITY in a car, we came into Clarion PA, unloaded our stuff at the Hampton Inn and headed over tho the Triple R. For sure a slightly kitschy theme and decor, but it is very comfortable and done nicely. Went for whatever was local and on tap (which actually was quite good and the name of the beer is failing me) and kinda over-ordered... 4 of us "road-warriors", including my sister and her two kids. Potato skins I think was one and maybe onion rings for another order. VERY BIG sizes so that was perfect. Everyone gets a salad with your entree. Went for the bacon vin, very naughty and really quite good. My nephew and I went for the "Steak Platter for 2" and it was really quite good. We asked for it with a bit of char (they have open grills, nice show) and MR and got as asked. A MAMMOTH sweet potato and broccoli. Overall, really nice food. Simple, well priced and BIG PORTIONS so you can easily take home a very tasty steak sammich for the next day. Service staff is very nice and very accommodating. It's a good stop on the road.

Poor service, long wait, no rolls, slow drink refills, cold fries didn't get to the table till 15 minutes after the rest of the food. Monday night is half price wings but they didn't seem that busy for how slow the service was. The wings were good, but they were a lot smaller than the last time we ate here. Remember that you have to get a beer or the wings are full price. Though some of our party were charged full price, it still made for a very reasonably priced meal.

I wrote about Hoss's in Dubois. This is the other and better place along I-80 that we often stop at on the way back east or on the way back home. The RRR (I have no idea what the three Rs stand for) is a Texas style roadhouse and they serve mostly steaks and grilled items. The food is generally pretty good and the service is too. The staff appear to be local college students and they do a good job. Following the roadhouse theme, there are roasted peanuts in the shells on all the tables and we always pig out on fresh roasted peanuts while we are waiting for our orders. The floors are appropriately littered with shells. I know they have bar there and that they serve beer. But since Clarion is about the half way point for what is a hard one day drive, we never partake. They also advertise a lunch buffet, but we have never been there at lunch time, so I can't say anything about that. The steaks are good. The salads are good. The burgers are good too. And they will cook them properly and not hide behind PA law as an excuse to over cook them as so many of the terrible places we have stopped at do. So if you happen to be driving by Clarion, this is one of the better places to get a meal.

When driving to Michigan, it will now be my goal to get to Clarion to stop for dinner at RRR Roadhouse. Excellent steaks and great yeast rolls. Eric and I shared a dinner special for two and it was an insane amount of really delicious food. The steak was cooked to perfect medium specifications and was tender and juicy. They had Dos Equis on tap and the ranch dressing that I stole from Eric was really good!

My favorite restaurant to eat at all throughout college back at good ol' CUP! Friday and Saturday nights the restaurant gets busy, and you may have a good 30 min-1 hour wait, but the restaurant does give out pages and allow you to walk throughout the mall while waiting. I always ordered the chicken breast with a salad (great salads!) as well as enjoyed the bread they bring out and the peanuts at the tables. There may have been a time I sent back the chicken to be cooked a little more, but I like my chicken nearly charred. Food was always great, and the service was wonderful too. If memory serves me right, the chicken entree was $10 and included 2 sides. Steaks were reasonably priced as well.

We had a so-so experience here once before, but decided to give them another shot. We decided to surprise our daughter, a college student for her birthday, my husband (also his birthday), daughter, and I drove over two hours to get there, while another daughter and her boyfriend picked up the birthday girl from her dorm. We explained to the hostess and our waitress that is was a special day, and requested all the traditional birthday hoopla. The three of us ordered drinks and appetizers while we waited for the other to arrive. About 15 minutes after the others got there, we were still waiting for drinks. The waitress took the dinner orders, informing us that they were "out of everything". Greasy, cold apps finally arrived...still no coffee (it had been brewing or so she said) hub had to ask twice for his drink, while others around us got theirs. 5 plates for the six of us, but no real biggie there. Another half hour.... finally our salads arrived (bagged lettuce, frozen eggs) and literally one minute later our food was there. Cold dry burgers (pre formed), steaks were tough, no dinner rolls....she asked if everything was okay. Normally I would have just eaten it and not said anything, but I had had it and said not really. could they please remake my burger... she brought me a plate and told me to put my burger on it so she could show the kitchen....like I was lying that it was so bad or something. I said never mind I don't want it. She wandered by again and said by the way our manager said that since your dinner is so bad it's on him...like we won the lottery or something. We said not necessary, we just want a nice dinner with our family. We never saw her again...no drink refills, no offer of dessert, no happy birthday...we had to ask again for the check and she said I told you...it's on the manager. Thank you RRR Roadhouse for totally wrecking what was supposed to be a fun surprise. Never ever again. If our two visits so far apart were not so good, there has to be more unsatisfied customers. I don't know how they stay in business.

I drive to Cape Cod every year and stop in Pennsylvania which is sadly a decent food desert, until I found RRR Roadhouse. Is it the best the steakhouse, no, but it is the best meal I have had off I-80 in PA. The steaks are good, nice salads, generous portions and full bar with friendly service. After a long day in the car, I could not ask for more than that.

I ate here about five times and every time I ate there I ordered the same thing and for some reason it always tasted different. The dinner rolls are really good but that is about it. The person setting near me got a steak and it was looked like a hockey puck. He was having a hard time chewing on that thing. After my fifth time, I have up on it and I haven't been back since. I little tip try something else. But I do want to say my waitress did an amazing job and was super friendly every time she came to check on me she always had a big smile on her face and did a great job writing her name upside down.
