Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I live in Clarion so I have eaten here many times. The food is always very good but not great. I have never ordered anything from their menu which I did not like. If you are looking for fancy this is not your place but lets face it, its a pizza and sandwich shop. I think its definitely worth your time if you are in the area and its a much better bet than any of the chain pizza and sandwich shops.

Best Italian Sub Money Can Buy - I used to eat here when I was in college - ever time I am in the area stop I by for Sub - Out of my way off of I-80 but worth it! - Whenever I eat at a restaurant in another state while I'm traveling for work or pleasure and I can get an Italian Sub I usually do and I compare them to here and no one comes close! - I just wish they would carry coke products instead of Pepsi and I would be in heaven!

What can I say.... YUM! Nice atmosphere, great service and fantabulous food!!! Prices are great!!! Run specials frequently! They have been part of clarion pa since I can remember!!! Yum yum yum!!! Highly recommend!!!

Best. Pizza. Ever. This is by far my favorite pizza in the world. So, so good. There's not much else I can really say, you'd just have to try it. Thank God I live five hours away, or I'd be eating it every day.

Great pub food. Love the heated Italian sub and taco salad. Great small town atmosphere...great service...reasonably priced. Perfect for family or getting together with friends.

It's a clarion icon it's been here along time and local people love it. In my opinion the food is just normal pizza shop food, it has it's own style and flavor.

You've got to be kidding me...this place got 4.5 stars?? The pizza I had from the pizza hut express at a gas station a few days ago was 10 times better. It was equivalent to a chef boyardee pizza kit. The fact that this place has been in business since 1973 must be a testament to the food in the area. Yikes!! Eat at pizza hut or taco bell. This place is pretty terrible.

This place has the most delicious "turkey wedgie" on the planet!

  • Rachel N.

I got back to Clarion during the summer of 2011 after being away for many years and the Pub was the first place i thought of going. I got a full combo weggie for old times sake, it came with 3 kinds of meat which I think were ham, turkey and roast beef. I loved it, as always, and wish I could visit more often!

    (5)
  • Grace B.

This place is the BEST! The wedgies are to die for ... i don't know what they do but it is absolutely the most wonderful flavor combo in your mouth. The turkey wedgie is good - so good. It's like two pizza slices without the sauce, cheese - just the baked pizza dough with turkey, shredded lettuce, tomato, a bit of onion and mayo all baked in this wonderful combo.. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else and everytime I'm here for the holidays - i make sure to stop by here! SO GOOD.

I have been eating here for years and the food is pretty great. If you're looking for something delicious and don't mind a few extra calories the Ranch Pizza is out of this world. You have to give this place a try!

A true Clarion Institution. You can't make it through 4 years (or however long it takes you) at CUP without dining here. I always ordered the white pizza or a pizza with pineapple - delicious! Enjoy it :)

First, I don't understand the other reviews, they seem to be written by either starved prisoners or workers of pizza pub. Here are the foods we tried and why there's nothing special about this place Chef's Salad- the reviewers raved about how great the salad is- it's only salad from a bag with processed cheese and ham on top of it- there's nothing special about the salad Breadsticks- there's nothing special here either- they taste just like Pizza Hut's bread sticks- good but nothing great Pizza- Again, the pizza is no different than any other pizza. In fact my wife and I thought it was just like Pizza Hut's- not bad, but nothing special. All in all- save yourself the trip, and just order Pizza Hut. Great beer selection at decent prices.

Love Pizza Pub! When I'm traveling on 80 this is one of the places I stop at! Love their Hawaiian pizza and my absolute favorite is their turkey chef salad... have to order it without onions, with pizza cheese and blue cheese dressing... YUMMY! Cheesey garlic bread is great too!

  • Derek L.

I absolutely love this pizza and it may be some of the best in the area! I ordered their medium size pizza with pepperoni, bacon and black olive. The buffalo chicken was OK. They do have six pack carry out here as well. Decor -4 food-4 Service-4

Clarion has some of the worst food options in the US. If you aren't from the area, you'll realize that the standards are pretty low. Pizza Pub would be just average anywhere else, but it's one of the better options here. They have a speciality Ranch Pizza that is bacon, tomatoes and ranch, and it's pretty good. "Harry's Pizza" is a big deal to the locals. It's cheap and good but not amazing. This isn't the greatest pizza in the world, but they do have some unique options to chose from that make the pizza worth it. The prices aren't too bad either. The bacon cheddar fries are pretty good as well. There is an ok beer and wine cooler selection as well. My major complaint is that the restaurant is family style seating. So you're stuck sitting at a table for ten with people you don't know. I have no interest in chatting it up with other people eating there so I find it frustrating. Just make some two and four people tables and call it a day.

I just recently hit up the Pizza Pub after a recent trip that took me through Clarion. Now I might be the first to admit that part of my taste for their food is nostalgia from my college days, but it was a pleasure to sit down and enjoy some of their pizza. I recommend if you are here to clearly go for the Pizza, but if not get an Italian Wedge which is a fantastic alternative to getting a sandwich, let's be real though it is a sandwich using pizza dough as your bread pieces. The beer prices are extremely reasonable as well.

Mondays thru Wednesdays they have "Harry's Pizza", which is a giant square tray. The pizza is pretty cheap and for a half tray you get about 20 slices(not 100% on the number) slices for $10. Toppings can be added, but just the cheese is good on its own. Really good food usually otherwise, one of Clarion's better places to eat at and it's best pizza place.

  • Slaine F.

Needed some delivery food, and pizza seemed to be the only game in town. Dominos and Pizza the Hutt were both options, but I wanted to give the local player a try. Pizza Pub's pizza looks and tastes like a DiGiorno frozen pizza. Serves me right for getting pizza so far from the NYC-New Haven corridor. However, they have some pretty banging bacon-chedder fries. I'd order those again in a heartbeat.

  • Brianna R.

Service was good, beverage refills and check service were very quick. Pizza crust was dry and as a whole, not that great of pizza. Wings were good, but "hot and spicy" was mild at best. We paid the extra 30 cents for blue cheese, but no celery. Also could have been a little crispier but still quite tasty. Restrooms were clean. A large pizza and a lb of wings with a soft drink and water came to $25. Reasonable and easy stop for a traveller.

I used to love this place when I was in college. I especially loved their ranch pizza. I don't know anyone else who makes it. Their prices are always good too. One thing that has been consistently disappointing though over the years are their delivery times and slow serving. You could wait half the night for your food to arrive to your table, and if you order delivery, I guarantee that no matter how close you live, your food will in fact be very cold when it finally arrives. Other than that, if you don't mind very long waits, the food is quite good.

There are two places I love to go when I'm in Clarion- Bob's Subs, and the Pizza Pub. How could you not love the Pub? They serve beer in fishbowl measurements, and the pizza is good. I get the chef salad, with half turkey and half ham- one reviewer on Yelp was disappointed with the chef salad, but I love it-- this isn't a fancy restaurant, so what were your expecting? I also love their wedgies, which I haven't found like these anywhere else. The Reuben wedgie is delicious, and if you get the turkey wedgie, they slather it with thick mayo- yum. Try the cheesy garlic bread- it oozes with greasy goodness. If you're looking for a reliable place that you'll feel at home at, try the Pub.

The Pizza Pub obviously gets mixed reviews from two types of people: those who have lived in the area or attended Clarion University and those from out of town. Having grown up in the area but not lived there for 20 years, I can completely understand the dilemma. It doesn't help that there are few good eating establishments in town, so the Pub somewhat fills that void by default. When we stopped in for lunch, the semi-small dining area was almost packed to capacity. We decided to split a taco pizza with side garden salads. Both were good, but nothing to get too excited about. While we ate, people continually came in, saw there were no tables and turned around and left. Yeah, it's that popular. As far as service, our waitress was a bit on the slow side. I'm not sure if she had too many tables to worry about or what, but it I didn't even get a drink refill until I was nearly done eating. However, the prices are very reasonable for nearly the entire menu. One of the perks I forgot about when eating in a small town.

  • Holly R.

This place isn't bad. We got the deep dish pizza (? I think? You have two crust options, thin (which is from frozen dough) or thick (made in-store)) and it reminded me of Domino's pizza. However I'd say it's a step up from Domino's, if only for the fact that I know I'm supporting a local place rather than a chain. It's really cheap, so that is a plus. The pizza is good if you're hungry, but it's definitely not something I crave. Hoagies are pretty tasty as well.

SO GOOD.
