Grabbed a couple of steaks for lunch on our way to the Poconos. This place is a neighborhood gem. The staff makes you feel welcome and like a part of the family as soon as you walk in. Delicious steaks. No wiz here, they use a creamy, sharp American that I'm going to dream about. And the bread. I'll dream about that too. If you're hopping off 95 to fill your cheesesteak void, you should know this isn't a place to sit down. But there's no rush to get you in and out--in a good way. And if you shoot the breeze with the owner, he'll tell you about the local celebrities who grew up around there. The whole experience will leave you with a smile and a bag full of delicious food.

Furillo's has the best cheesesteak I've EVER had. Tucked away in an old neighborhood in Chester PA, this deli/grocery is easily overlooked. When I pulled up, I was a bit apprehensive because it's like a small kwik-shop, but I gave it a shot, and boy was I glad I did! This place is simply a sandwich shop and grocery- there are no tables, fountain drinks, etc. But the only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars is because they were a little slow and it's just not the most visually appealing place to go for a sandwich, it kinda makes you think twice, but don't lose hope- you certainly won't be let down! I ordered a cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, and hot cherry peppers. It came on a super fresh hoagie, and the steak was PERFECT. I think it was about $8 for the sandwich, which was a great price for the quality and size. It's worth the wait & the lackluster curb appeal make it all better when you eat that sandwich. Great job Furillos :)

Great cheesesteak and Italian hoagie. Loaded with meat and made with fresh rolls. Close to PPL Park - we bought sandwiches for a tailgate. The proprietor is very nice and quite a character.

Such a great cheesesteak! I had bought the big sandwich planning to save half for later, but it was so delicious that I gobbled it all up. We will definitely be going back for more next time we are driving up 95 or going to PPL Park for a game. The meat was craved fresh after we ordered and the the rolls were also so fresh that it made this sandwich that much better. Also, it was fun chatting with the owner while we waited for our order.
