Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I went to write a review on Ho Choi, but then I read Katharine B.'s review and I agree word for word. So close, 5 min. or so from our home, but so yucky! Oh, and it is take out, only...Epic Fail..

Typical Chinese take out with fast delivery service. My favorite is the chicken wings!

Had to write a review for Ho-Choi considering how often everyone I know gets take-out from here at our college campus and seeing the negative reviews it has gotten. Ho-Choi never fails to deliver any later than 30 minutes after order, a huge plus for hungry college students without any patience. They have a very large variety of food and to be honest, their food is of a pretty good standard compared to all the other Chinese take-out restaurants around here. Ho-Choi is the go to for my friends and I. Their delivery men are always prompt and nice. They often give us extra food that we didn't order as samples which is a plus. They also don't skimp on condiments and utensils. Some of my recommendation: -bbq ribs (HK style flavored char-siu) -salt and peppered chicken/shrimp -HK noodle soup -hot and sour soup -chow-fun (beef or shrimp) -honey walnut chicken

All of the food had a burnt smell to it and the general tso's chicken was slimy. I won't ever order from there again.

Ack! There are bugs in my soup for real. Little flies. In an attempt to recover my meal, I transitioned to another dish where I found moldy cabbage. I'm not above peeling the moldy leaves off a cabbage and digging for the still ok to eat bits, but please don't stick the moldy leaves in my dinner. Move along, cowboys, move along. There is other Chinese delivery to be had near campus.

If you're looking for good takeout Chinese food on the Main Line and you want it fast, then look no further. Food always arrives in 30 minutes or less- pretty amazing, especially when you're starving after being in the library for the whole day. The employees are very friendly, which is always an added plus. The only word of caution would be to avoid any Szechuan style dishes (Szechuan beef, ma po tofu etc). I've noticed that these typically turn out nothing like they should, likely because the cook has little experience with that regional cuisine. Other than that, Ho Choi is fantastic and will continue to have my business.

Typical take out restaurant. The price is cheap and the portions are large, the selections are plenty and the taste, well, the taste quality varies from dish to dish. Some of the dishes are pretty nice and well cooked while some others seems to be just cooked up for the first time by someone who never cooked it before(for example Eggplant in garlic sauce or Ma Po Tofu). I go there for since it's cheap and it's close...

Worst chinese food I've had. I ordered chicken lo mein from here once and had no flavor. The next time I ordered Broccoli and chicken and it had no flavor. The last time I ordered General Tzar and it wasn't that great. After that I vowed never to order food from there again, which sucks because there aren't many chinese delivery places in the area.

One of those places you try, because it's so close, and never return to again. Bland, greasy and oversalted. Go to Pak Yue in Ardmore!

If I happening to be driving past Ho Choi and I'm hungry or I have an egg roll craving, I have to stop here. I like to consume the eggroll in the car. I eat it fast & messy. Yummy! I really do love the eggrolls here . Other items on the menu are o.k.

Standard Chinese take out. Nothing special, but it's right next to my apartment so it serves it's purpose. Prices are cheap, good portion size, and prompt delivery. The food isn't THE best, but you get what you pay for and expect. If you want take out and you live in the Bryn Mawr area, this is the best of the standard fare that I've had.

If you live in the area and are looking for a decent and clean but inexpensive chinese (cantonese) restaurant that delivers quickly, Ho Choi might be your choice. For the price, do not expect the same quality cuisine that you are able to get down the street for $20 to $30/pp, but you can expect consistently satisfying "fast food" that won't leave you shaking or bloating from MSG overdose. Entrees can be made-to-order, meaning the chefs at Ho Choi are open to cooking your entrees with less oil and/or less salt/soy sauce if you request it --something I truly appreciate. -pinkposy

Hot and sour soup was more sour than I've ever had it. Chicken and broccoli was soupy, go figure. Pork fried rice was chunky, the rice that is. However, when there's not much to choose from, we can't get too picky. This is the convenient choice.

My go-to spot for Chinese takeout. Delivery is fairly prompt, but sometimes they mix up the dorms on Bryn Mawr's campus, but they're always apologetic. The sesame chicken and General Tso's are both delicious, and my friends have raved about the vegetarian selections. The portions are plentiful, which means I always have left-overs, and while they totally stink up my dorm room's mini-fridge, they allow me avoid the dining hall for a meal or two.

This used to be my go-to fast take-out place when I lived at the roach-motel apartments next door (-5 stars for the apartments, but THAT'S another tale). Good pricing, tasty, friendly folk. The spare-rib combo was my standard, though many other dishes very tasty too.

I'd give this place a 3.5 star. I think it's slightly better than Beijing Inn, plus they have coupons for delivery. This is the first restaurant that I've seen that offers Dinner Combinations. It's a little more expensive than the lunch combo, but not by much. Their dinner combo floats at around 7 dollars. Included is fried rice, eggrolls/soup, and the main dish. The food is not great, but then again I grew up eating Chinese food all my life. But I'd recommend this place over Beijing Inn for delivery due to the coupons and the dinner combinations.
