Found this place on-line to take Mother-in-law to dinner... she grew up in Bristol and we thought this would be a nice surprise. It was a Thursday, so the restaurant wasn't busy, but we appreciated the way the staff saved a special table (with a view). This was a quaint place in a town that has recently seen a resurgence of restorations in the downtown area. The walk to the waterfront was within view. The food was mez a-mez. I ordered the Salmon, which didn't appear to be cooked all the way, but tasted very good. Husband had the crab cake and he liked it. Dessert was good. Overall, it was a nice place...nothing outstanding, but for a town that has seen some positive changes, this is worth a stop.

On a recent visit for dinner, my wife and I had a very nice window seat with a nice view to the river fifty or so yards away, and that sums up the experience--nice. The gazpacho was good; the calamari very good. My crab cake was good but my wife's shrimp special disappointing. Bread pudding for dessert was good, and the service was very good. So, the question becomes is it worth a hundred (with a drink each and a decent tip) for a "nice" evening? Maybe on a warmer evening where dinner could be followed by a stroll down to the river, and maybe not so much on a cool, rainy April evening. Would I return? Yes, I suppose. It was a nice evening after all.

So we visited this restaurant as we had bought a groupon. I looked them up on yelp and other sites and it didnt sound bad. Tell you what, it is NOT WORTH it. The ambiance is ok but nothing great. The appetizers were again "just ok". We ordered one special and one item from the menu. The regular item was certainly nothing extraordinary and the special (chicken) was definitely not worth $26!!! Take your money and go to perhaps Lambertville or New Hope.

Took my mom and sister here for dinner before Christmas. The place is very nice inside. Warm feel too it. Somewhere I could see myself being a regular patron at if I lived in town. I had the crab cakes and they were very tasty. Salad was great and was served before the meal. We were visited at the table by the owner Dawn, and she was very sweet. This is just what the town needed. I will come back when I'm in town for sure!

i had a very nice dinner here. the food was good and the waitress and owner were very nice. the dining room is very relaxing with low lights and a live paino player. very intimate. however, you wouldnt want to sit right next to the paino because it would be hard to talk to your dinner mate. also there is a theater across the street so it can get busy. the night that i was there the resturant was full and the kitchen could not respond properly because it took over an hr to get my food. we were not rushing so we didnt mind, but i would keep that in mind in the future.

Went there waited 10 mins before anyone came and greeted us. Took another 15 mins to order food waitress was bad. 40 mins for food. When we got our food steak was way over cooked very dry and very thin for a $25 N.Y. Strip. Portions very small for the prices. Will never EVER return.

Man, has Mill Street come back to life! I had not been down by the Delaware River for several years and was very pleasantly surprised by the return of vibrancy around there. Kelch House was recommended by a local businessman we were visiting, and he was right on with his suggestion. The five of us had a variety of things on the menu, and all of us were happy with our choices. I had the Apple and Feta Salad, consisting of Granny Smith slices, Romaine, Candied Walnuts, and a good amount of fresh Feta Cheese. The Balsamic was a nice taste to wrap it all together. A good meal @ $9. Looking at my mates I observed various stages of gluttony displayed over a Cheesesteak and French Onion Soup. Someone mentioned the Fries were excellent. The facility is dressed in colonial attire, with large windows bringing in wonderful light. The view of the river from our table was great on this autumn day. Definitely worth a special visit to return to both Kelch House and Bristol. Well done, City!

Stopped in for a quick lunch before an appointment nearby. We were greeted and seated immediately. I love being offered a beverage as I sit down which we ordered. We both picked the patty-melt with sautéed onions, Swiss cheese on grilled rye. It was served with delicious fries and pickle. Menu stated the meat was CAB so I felt comfortable ordering a burger but I was so turned off to find several bits of gristle in just half the sandwich. My husband experienced even more but he was able to eat his sandwich. I didn't mention it to the waitress only because I didn't have time to order another option, in hindsight I should have informed them. It is a lovely convenient restaurant in Bristol Borough. The service was great - friendly and efficient. The decor is very tasteful and furnishings are comfortable. They have table and booth seating which is important to me needing a booth for a current hip issue. I recommend you stop by for lunch or dinner but don't have the burger!

Amazing food. Average service. Prices fairly high but it's honestly worth it to go here for special occasions because of how delectable the food is.

Pros... Downtown romantic feel. Most relaxed I've been while dining out. Piano player that has a soft touch and doesn't kill your conversations. Service was friendly and my water did not make it half way down before it was being filled again. Window view of the river in distance is nice. Everyone was happy with food variety, taste, and presentation. Desserts are yummy. Cons... We were first ones in for dinner and it took an hour for our food to come. Bread and salads were timed well to keep us from being annoyed by it. Make sure you have time to enjoy the meal and quarters for parking meter. Prices are that of center city Philly. Customers wearing sweats and tshirts is slightly insulting when a collared shirt should be expected. I'll be returning for the most relaxing dining ever.

Kelch house is located on the corner of Mill St. and Radcliffe St. in Historic Bristol. There is a small 6 (?) seat bar when you walk in on the left and to the right is the dining area filled with booths and tables. The walls are a maroon color and along with the wooden floors the place felt very relaxing. I however, ordered take out since I was on my own and had a tough decision from the "chalkboard" of lunch specials outside. All of them were reasonably priced mostly all below $10. I settled on the cajun chicken sandwich. The hostess was very friendly and I got my order within 10 - 15 minutes. The sandwich was good. The chicken was very tender and along with the other ingredients (cheddar, onion, and pepper) it was great! The roll was also fresh and tasted good. It came with fries which had some skin on them (whether or not this was homemade I don't know)...but they weren't bad. For some reason, the fries had a hint of sweetness (they weren't sweet potato fries - i don't think). I feel that maybe a little bit of sugar was sprinkled along with the salt.... Overall my take out experience was pretty good. Friendly service, good food. I'll be sure to peek my head in again hopefully for a sit down meal.

I was really craving a turkey club but saw the turkey on multigrain with bacon, slaw, russian dressing, and swiss, and decided to go for that. It was great. A combo of a rachel and club in one sandwich. Definitely more expensive than a deli but what can I say? It was a long morning and I needed a semi-gourmet sandwich.

I have on a few occasions seen Bristol in winter...But seeing Bristol in May was really special...a lovely place. The Kelch House is built on a very historical site, right on the Delaware river. I had a wonderful time here with my mother in law, and ordered one of the most beautiful salads I have ever seen/tasted. A blue cheese salad with walnuts & green apples fanned around the plate. Also had *crab cakes and the best *french fries I have (seriously) ever had. We also shared a bit of very nice white wine (Pinot Grigio). The staff was sweet and sincere...and I cant help but point out that a photo of a good friend who had past was on the wall. What a genuine classic. The real deal. I hope to revisit next time I am in Bristol. Highly recommended A truly wonderful place. If you end up here in Bristol, definitely stop by... and visit the Grundy library too! Awesome little town!
