concept is good but the execution is terrible. You buy raw,k-bobs, steaks, salmon, scallops, etc. inside and take it out to grill to cook with the help of the staff. Meanwhile u also buy salads and pre-baked potatoes that sit at your table while you cook your food, bad system why cant they being u salad and potato when you sit down with cooked meal. You pay resteraunt prices for all food. Cheap plastic lawn furniture.

This place is in the middle of nowhere. We were invited by another couple who lived much closer than us. All your food is purchased inside raw and you bring it out to the grills to cook yourself. At the grills they have all the seasonings and sauces you would need along with an employee to help if you need it. We were lucky to get a nice table by the creek. The servers are basically there to get you cocktails, and OH did we drink them up. Overall we had a great time, just not sure it was worth the drive.

I love this place. It's so unique. The food is ok, and prices are a bit high, but the whole "process" and fun filled atmosphere overcomes all other shortcomings making it such a pleasing and fun experience. At least to me. Overall the deal is it is an outdoor place on the water with a tiki bar where they "ring the bell" every time somebody orders some sort of special drink (I forget which drink it is)...you pick out your meat etc and then grill it yourself on a huge grilled with a bunch of seasonings to choose from. While your food is cooking you can stand there, or go back to your seat etc...it actually works pretty well. I have been there about 10 times and plan to take my husband there tonight :) check it out. It's fun.

I absolutely love coming here. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you with a friendly attitude and sincere smile. The staff are just really easy-going and fun to talk to. The atmosphere is awesome, especially outside on a summer night. The Hurricanes are also amazing, and reasonably priced. I just wish they were open till 2am, I never want to leave! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!

This place used to provide a good experience - it has since become a place with a lackadaisical staff, high pricing and small portions, among it's parking problems. Let's face it, you probably do not live in Oley. You probably do not live near Oley. To drive one hour to a restaurant to be turned around because their lot it full is a bit ridiculous. How about not being told they are out of food so you buy drinks at the bar while you wait for a table. Asinine rules about which counter you order food from can leave you with an empty plate - I had to hit both lines to get an alligator kabob, the first was not allowed to pull from the second for me. The portions are SMALL - the tuna looked to be the size of one I had on an $8 sandwich from my local tavern the night before. From the look of the "No Motorcycle Parking" signs around the building and previous attitude, motorcycles are unwelcome. This place is merely annoying, but for the prices, why aren't you having a chef cook for you? One hour from civilization, they are hoping you consider yourself stuck and deal with what they offer, or don't offer.

I actually love this place because of the atmosphere. This is my type of place but I only give 3 stars because I have to be honest and tell you that the food is over priced. It's a great place to go with a group of friends and party outside on a nice night. Everything on the menu is $20 or more and you have to cook it yourself, which I like but I don't know why it's cost so much. I wouldn't complain if they had some cheap options like a burger or chicken. I still recommend going here to have fun and enjoy drinks with friends.

The tiki bar just rocks. An awesome atmosphere with great food. Yeah, you cook it yourself, but you have a lot of fun doing it! The wait staff is a lot of fun too. Great place for a group of folks to go to.

The first time is amazing then the novelty wears off. I can stand around a hot grill and cook my food on my back deck. The only thing this place has going for it is they have banging hurricanes; you will get fucked up! If you have a bad meal it is because YOU can't cook. Try it once with a group, I don't recommend going back for more. If you liked this place try Union Jack's down the street.

This is my all-time favorite restaurant! Although I live in Virginia for the past 8 years, every time I visit my family in PA, I insist on going to the Tiki Bar. Outstanding Hurricanes, fabulous steak and seafood, and the atmosphere is unbeatable.

I love going to the Tiki Bar in the summer to relax and get away. The food is rather expensive since you end up cooking it yourself, but you never leave hungry! The waitstaff is friendly, quick, and helpful. Just remember your bug spray since it's next to a river!

Every one of my yearly visits to this place have been perfect. You cook your own food, which is a turn off to some, but if you enjoy grilling, then this is a cool concept. I have never had to deal with insects even though we are outdoors, with food, right aside of a creek. The staff is most accommodating, and really try to make your experience personal. The food selection is a tad eclectic and they do not offer a large menu, but the selection is versatile enough to cover everyone. Portions are nice, and the meal is always served with salad, bread and baked potato. They offer a "raw bar shot" (oyster/clam/shrimp/etc) that is really good - I've never seen that around this area anywhere else and don't forget to have a Hurricane {limit 2} and yell like crazy when you hear the bell!! It is generally an adult crowd and groups frequent (bachelor/ette parties, birthdays), so children do not fit well in the mix. Please don't take them unless they are supervised and well behaved. It is a bar too, and the area outside, really, is the entire atmosphere of the place. Your tables are set into little "nooks" for privacy, and the paths leading from the grills to your table are single file. Not a place you want kids running around with adults who are drinking... It is a totally different dining experience. Get there early because they do not take reservations and they will not seat you without your entire party present.

Food is overpriced. The drinks were weak. They have a great location on the creek but the outdoor furniture is extremely minimal. The staff is all wrong. They try to push food on you too hard and they seem very low energy otherwise. A few key changes need to be made and it could easily come back to a 5 star place for me.

Place gets it's rating on atmosphere alone. Not only is it in a great location (a bit far out in the the woods albeit), but the environment is great. Good beer selection, and and an even more eclectic selection for dinner (I had alligator!). Cooking the food yourself is entertaining, could see how it could get old and lose its novelty, but it's certainly worth the visit if you haven't been before.

After talking to many people over the years that had been here I discovered that most people fall into 2 camps on their feelings about the Tiki Bar, either they absolutely love it and think it's the be all and end all or they're like meh and could care less if they ever go there again. I made my first visit this past weekend and I'm definitely going to fall into the latter category. High Points: Nice ambiance (music excluded) Super friendly wait staff Novelty of cooking your own food Low Points: Extremely weak drinks Cheap outdoor poly chairs that kill your rear if sitting for more than an hour Tropical/summer themed musical selection - it gets old really fast Wait staff that disappears for long periods of time Food is expensive considering you're cooking it yourself Novelty of cooking your own food I have an especially hard time getting my head around paying $20 for a steak that I have to cook myself so that doesn't help. Then we had a waitress that while very friendly was a number of times either standing at the bar smoking and chatting or MIA altogether, even though it was a very slow night, while we sat with empty cups. The big downer was the famous hurricanes. I had heard so much about these drinks - how delicious and strong they are. Delicious yes, strong....only if you're sneaking them to your 15 year old nephew that's dining with you. They were really weak and tasted more like a fruit drink with a splash of alcohol. My friend even said something to the waitress about how weak they tasted. He downed 5 with no problem and no, he's not an alcoholic. I can kind of see how some people might fall in love with this place but I personally just thought it was ok. The place doesn't suck but it's such a one trick pony. If you like predictability in an island themed bar, weak overpriced drinks and paying regular restaurant prices to cook your own food then this is the place for you.
