The China Star has the best Chinese food in the Milky Way Galaxy. Their General Tso's chicken is top notch. Did you ever wonder who General Tso was? He must have been a crappy general, but a great cook. The prices are great and the food is fresher than a prince from Bel Air. But why is it called the China Star? It's because the real star is working behind the register. Her name is Cindy and she is the kindest, nicest, person you will ever meet. She always treats me with such respect. Get this. She's a modest one. This woman was on the Chinese Olympic synchronized dive team during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. If you have some time, ask her about the Summer Games qualifier story. Man, that story had me in tears.

I went to this place to order a Szechuan Chicken dinner combo and what I got was chicken and vegetables in a salty red sauce. I mean that the sauce was so salty that you had to drink a gallon of water after taking just one taste of it. I had to go back to complain to the manager whom I told to try it but wouldn't (he just took my word for it). Then one of the cooks said that he had mistaken the salt for sugar. I told the manager that he should mark the sugar and salt containers so they wouldn't get them confused in the future. As for the replacement order goes... Well all I can say is that they advertise that they don't use MSG but what I got was a splitting headache and a very dry mouth. THIS PLACE SUCKS BALLZ ! YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WARNED!

While visiting friends in Bluebell I decided I wanted Chinese. I ordered from this place because it was the closest. It was not a bad choice. The food was actually delicious I had the crab Rangoon's the chicken chow mein and fried rice all delicious! I will go here again when in Blue Bell!

My wife and I got takeout come here for the first time tonight. Ordering online was easy and the food was ready in 15 min. The food is "American" Chinese done in a very nice way. Packaging was excellent with plastic containers that make it easy to save leftovers Wonton Soup was tasty with lots of wontons Fried Dumplings were very good My wife's General Tso chicken was excellent, crispy and delicious My Szechuan Beef was very good, just not hot enough for me......I like dishes so hot my mouth burns. Crispy noodles, lots of sauces and fortune cookies were in the takeout bag. I have to say that this was a really good experience getting takeout from China Star. My wife was treated well, even give two free Cokes. We will be back.

Cindy and staff is nothing but wonderful at China Star. She always remembers me, has me try new menu items and is just a lovely person. Great food, best Chinese around!

Worst Mapo Tofu I've ever had. The ingredients were all wrong and it was SWEET. If the tofu was just stir fried I could've at least eaten it. But it was like the chef used sugar instead of salt. The hot and sour soup was also sweet. This was a late, last minute meal so they were closed when I tried to call.

A good place to stop in for a quick takeout.....I haven't eaten in there but it looks ok for lunch, this is a very basic strip mall setup. The prices are low and the quality ranges from very good (a quart of wonton soup packed with wontons for $3.50) to fair (combo platters of General Tso chicken, or Kung Pao Chicken come with basic fried rice and egg rolls) I have seen comments about rude service but the last couple times the service has been excellent so maybe they are reading the yelp reviews. worth checking out if you are in the area

I had a really good experience with take-out this afternoon during lunch hour. I called in my order and the woman on the phone was pleasant. She also spent the time to go over my order, ensuring she had everything correct. I was told 10 minutes, which was more than acceptable. Everything was ready when I got there, and she was even more pleasant in person than on the phone. I have nothing bad to say about the service. The food was as good as you would expect from Chinese take-out. Hot, tasty, perfectly cooked, not drowning in greasy sauce like some places. I will definitely be back in the near future.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant in this area (East Norriton/BlueBell). The food and service are amazing! I've tried other Chinese restaurants in the area and found that this place tasted better and the price was much more affordable. I buy food from here often that they know when I call to order. Now they have a website ( bluebellchinastar.com ) that you can order from. Delivery is fast and the driver is friendly. Overall, this place is worth your money.

Solid Chinese food and fast delivery. The delivery is so fast that the food comes still piping hot as if you were sitting down in the restaurant. Third time we ordered from here and third meal is good as the other two orders. I have a feeling I can try almost anything on it and won't be disappointed.

Solid Chinese food. They are very clean and change oil frequently, you can tell by the taste of the eggrolls and General Tso chicken.

Call me crazy...or chalk it up to the fact that I'm from Connecticut and not here, but I like this place. The sesame chicken is awesome. The fried rice is kinda meh, but it isn't awful. We've had both takeout and delivery to our friend's house which is maybe a half mile away.

I am going to break this down by two points first food and 2nd service: Food: They serve a typical Chinese restaurant fare, it is decent but nothing special. I went there because it was cheaper than the other close by choice Golden Sea, but lacks their quality. Service: I have never had good service here, and the staff is also incredibly rude. The woman who works the counter is horrid, and treats customers like an inconvenience. I actually accepted this for a while, but the last time I went in was my limit. She didn't even get up or hand me my food. She took my money and then ignored me, expecting me to know which one of the two bags on the counter was mine. Because of this I will pay the extra 3 or 4 bucks and go to Golden Sea, they have always been very polite and their food is much better.

Job just moved up from Conshy to Blue Bell so now I have to scope out all the Chinese restaurants around the area. Run of the mill strip shopping mall Chinese 7 table "restaurant". These are the places you go when you want some cheap lunch specials at the end of the week. Surprisingly it was pretty good and the prices were as expected. I would have given it a solid 4 stars but I had to take away for the smell of the place. I know I know...if it smelled bad how could you possibly eat their food? For $5.25 what do you really expect?

I'm really surprised by the reviews this place has gotten. Either the previous reviewers have never had decent Chinese food before or they all secretly work at China Star. I've lived in Blue Bell for almost ten years now so I've tried all of the Chinese places in and around Blue Bell. This place is by far the worst that I've had. Not that the food is inedible, its just that it has absolutely no taste whatsoever. Not only is it the most bland Chinese food I've ever had; it's probably the most tasteless food I've had period. The only positive thing I can say is that it's really cheap and they use fancy take out containers. I don't want to bash the place more then I have but anyone who orders food from here when Golden Sea is just down the street is committing a grave injustice!

This is only a 3-5 min drive from our new home so we decided to order a few dishes since we were too tired and cranky to risk venturing into the civilized world for a dine-in experience. The pepper steak was pretty tough and while I'm not expecting filet mignon, I do expect to be able to bite my meat with my incisors. The flavor was pretty good, though. The jumbo kung pao shrimp was better than at most take-out places; the shrimp wasn't overbattered and the sauce was flavorful without being overly greasy. The singapore mei fun wasn't fantastic or even that spicy but it was edible. I might add a caveat that the leftover version is not. They also have a bunch of tofu dishes and you can order it cooked however you want it. I asked for it to be cooked in a ma po, hot chilli-oil base, which they did decently well. Overall,a good place to get take-out. It's not 5-star cuisine but then again,. it's not meant to be. You go there for cheap, decent, fast Americanized Chinese food and that's what you get...in nicely sized portions, too.

Yummy food, huge portions, reasonable prices. A great value. This is just what the area needed. The menu is large, and ranges from all the classic chinese take-out offerings to more unique dishes as well. Food isn't overly greasy. Too bad we're moving to another area just as this place hit the scene!

The menu is what you would expect from just about any chinese restaurant and the prices were good. It smelled newly renovated like paint and glue kind of, but I didn't mind since I was getting take out. I ordered kung pao chicken combination plate. The flavor of everything was pretty good but not very spicy. The main problem I had was the quality of the chicken. It was overly fried, which isn't how I'm used to eating chicken in this dish, and inside of the fried-ness was a gristly chewy chicken like substance. If I ever had to go back I would probably opt for a vegetarian dish...

Ordered a late night meal for me and my family and had it delivered from this new neighborhood chinese take out joint. Unlike other local chinese restaurants in the Blue Bell area, the cost was reasonable and they deliver! Food was yummy. And to top it off, the delivery service was super quick. These folks are located where the old Pudge's used to be before they moved to the shopping strip mall next door. Next time you have a craving for chinese, give China Star a try and let me know what you guys think.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
