Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The food is pretty good. There are some options here in the Poconos to eat and we decided to have dinner in at Papa's. They had a great 20dollar meal special, two dinners, antipasto salad and bread for 20. It was well worth it. We love their pizza and now like their dinner options. They always have specials. It is worth checking out. It is in the cvs shopping center.

Awesome deal. A lot of food for your money. Pretty tasty too. The shopping center and exterior look a little uninviting, but it's much nicer when you get inside.

Good food, pretty diverse menu, quick friendly service. Thumbs up on the Chicken Cacciatore!

We enjoyed a nice meal here. Food was yummy.

The family has been going here for YEARS. A member of our party did not like their food and let the waitress know. The owner came out attacking verbally. Horrible horrible experience. I will never ever go back. They didn't even remove the item off the bill. Didn't even offer to replace the item with something else. Diner beware. We are your customers. This is not how you treat your customers. We are spreading the word about our experience

This place is in a nearly abandoned shopping center at the 115 and 940 junction. Literally the outside of this place looks like a set from the "Walking Dead". But inside the place is pretty nice with murals on the wall and pretty decent pizza and food. The staff was friendly and service was good. One of the better places in an area where I usually can't find much in the way of a good meal out.

I knew the original owner Papa Frank and his son Santo. They were originally from Brooklyn NY and used Brooklyn ingredients. They were first located on 940, near Pocono Mountain West H.S Their pizza was the best in the area. I should know, I'm Italian and from Brooklyn. Once the new owners took over at the Blakeslee area, I noticed the change in the flavor of the sauce, not great but not bad. I miss the Brooklyn ingredients. They still have the best tasting pizza around and their dishes are great! The owner takes pride in his work and his wife is a sweet heart. Their kids are just as nice. If you like homemade sauce, this is the pizza for you.

First off, DO NOT follow the directions from the Yelp link. You will end up on some dirt road with a chain across it about 200 yards in. Very creepy The restaurant is located right on the main intersection on 115. It is located in an equally creepy strip mall that used to have a flea market but d now a series of empty store fronts. Once inside though, the place is very nice. We were a party of 10 so she brought us back to a private room in the back, which was appreciated. The service was very good. It's a pizza place but the menu was pretty broad, I checked out the kitchen and I'm happy to report it was clean and organized. We ordered some antipasti an various pizza's. Both were pretty decent. The former was mostly romain lettuce with some ham rolled in but the price was right. We live in the center of the pizza universe so I need to be fair, this pizza was really pretty good for being outside of the metropolitan area. Would recommend this place for a casual stop in the area.

Saw the reviews on yelp and decided to order from here. We were misled. The address on Yelp pointed me to a dirt road.. this place is pretty much located in a deserted shopping lot that could have been better used as a dirt road. However the inside is actually pretty nice. The owner let two people that he personally knew cut in front of me in line before serving me, after I could clearly see that my order was ready. Sort of rude, but whatever I guess that's cool. My mother and I ordered a grilled chicken salad, and a chicken Caesar salad. $8.50 for each?!? I can go to a Sheetz and get a better quality salad for $4.50. Our salads barely had anything to them for that price. I had a little lettuce, a lot of microwaved chicken, packet of dressing, and croutons. My mom's had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and chicken. No carrots, no olives, no onion, no egg. No cheese on either. Bland, tasteless, expensive. My nephew and my dad both had pizza, I tried some of that since the salad sucked, it was decent for a Pocono pizza. I guess my advice would be to order something on special and maybe the pasta that other reviewers have enjoyed. This place is a waste of money and the owner does not seem too friendly for the most part. MAJOR EDIT: Boy was I wrong when it comes to their dinners. The 2 for $20 deal is awesome! The antipasto is fantastic (they really don't believe in much in their salads though). The chicken parm that I had was great. I totally recommend this place if you get a DINNER. DO NOT GET ONLY A SALAD!!! HUGE RIPOFF.

Food was great! Serve was great!! Didn't wait long for food and bread was toasted warm!!!
(5)Mandy B.
This place is awesome! We spent the summer in the Poconos, and this quickly became our go-to pizza destination. The pizzas are HUGE, and flavorful. I love their crust. Everything about it is just yummilicious. We also had the stromboli. Oh my gosh!! We got the large, and they were monsters. I've never seen stromboli that big. If I lived in the area, this would be the only place I would get pizza from. I wish we had been able to try other dishes. Based on what we did eat, I bet it's all good.
(4)Ken T.
Came here during springbreak with a couple of friends and had a really great time. We got the $20 meal special and it included two dinners, a large antipasto salad and fresh-oven bread. Everything was really fresh and tasty. While I got the Chicken Parmagiana, my friend got the Chicken Sorrentina and I couldn't help eating off her plate the entire night. The waitresses were really nice and we would definitely come back the next time we pass by Blakeslee! Note: Definitely a plus that they open til 10:00PM since all of the other diners and restaurants around seem to be closed by 3:00PM.

Nestled in the middle of Blakeslee is a secret. A place where taste buds are surprised by the most delicious pizza crust one could ask for, and speedy service that can impress one who comes from a much bigger city. Papa Santo's is the most incredible pizza restaurant I have ever had in my middle aged life. And it's in Blakeslee!?!? I had orders the antipasto, the small, and it was actually quite large. Had the balsamic vinaigrette and oil and both tasted fresh. Had the lunch special, two slices for five, mushroom on one and cheese on the other. The pizza crust is incredible. Like the other reviewers, they will agree, it is not just crust, it is astounding. The place is very clean and quiet. Disregard the barren parking lot. This is a great place. The service was great, and the waitressing is awesome. This is what pizza places should be like.

My wife and I found this place on yelp when we were passing through the area and it was delicious. When we went there, we figured it was just a pizza place since it is in a strip mall so we both went in there thinking it would be a normal run of the mill Italian place that mostly relies on their pizza to pull the menu together however that couldn't be further from the truth. Our waitress asked if we knew about the 2 for $20 deal and we had not so she explained that you get two dinner entrees and an antipasto dish for $20 so we figured we had to give it a whirl. I elected for the chicken parm and my wife had the chicken saltimbocca. It also included bread as well just as an fyi. Our antipasto came out quickly and was huge (more than enough for two people) and very good. As we were finishing up our antipasto, our food arrived... again the portions were generous to say the least and looked awesome. We were both quite pleased with our meals however the chicken saltimbocca stole the show... not to say the chicken parm wasn't as good but the saltimbocca was awesome. We didn't have room for dessert so I cannot comment on that unfortunately but the food here is worth stopping back for sure. Additionally, our waitress was very attentive and polite as well. Overall a very good experience. Don't judge a book by it's cover on this one.

The owner treated me SO rudely. To the point where I cried in front of my kids when I got to the parking lot. What an upsetting experience. I took my mom and my two kids (6 & 8) to Papa Santo's for dinner tonight. We have been there several times before as we live within 3 miles or so. My son ordered the chicken fingers kids' meal and the chicken fingers had a VERY greasy taste, as confirmed by my mother an myself. My daughter had the chicken fingers there about 2 weeks prior and they were good, so I know this greasy taste is not the norm. After two bites we sent my son's chicken fingers back. The waitress asked if he wanted anything else. After a couple minutes, he decided he didn't want anything. When I got the bill, the chicken fingers were still on there. I took the bill to the register and the owner refused to take them off stating "They tasted beautiful. There was nothing wrong with them. We ate them." He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't his fault that my "kid" was full. He continued to argue with me and stated that he wasn't taking them off the bill because that was his profit. He said that I sent them back just because he was full!! I ended up paying $7.50 for food that his employees ate. And yes...I still left a full 20% ($8.00) tip because I did not feel that I should penalize the waitress for the owner's actions.

Delicious Italian dinners like grandma made! I love the Eggplant Parm dinner, my husband loves the Chicken parmigiana. The calzones are monstrous and savory. The cannolis are the best around. You can even order online!!
(5)Harini S.
Very friendly and professional. We ordered a large veggie pizza. The pizza was fresh and tasty. This is a must visit pizza place for anyone visiting Blakeslee.
(5)Steve S.
The beauty of this family place which does not even have a sign, the locals come to eat here, the truth is that for what we were able to visit around this area apparently is the place where you can eat something good decent that is not burgers and fries, the service is not excellent cheese arrived when my pasta was already over but the boys are all very young not attitude so you can forgive them. So far ! for tourist The best I found in this area
(5)Flava D.
Lots of food for the money. We had gotten take out and I had the vodka rigatoni and they were dry as could be. In the old days you'd be able to scoop up the sauce and put it on the abundance of bread they give you. But these were as dry as could be. Not very much taste either. The others enjoyed their dinners but either ask for extra sauce or just plain old stay away from the rigatoni aka vodka. I think the girl said it was under new ownership. Not 100% sure but if that's the case there's always cut backs but cut backs drive people away. I'd still go back and give it another try but not of the pasta.
(3)Marlon B.
Has become my go-to place for Pizza when in the area. I have only done takeout so I can't speak to anything else but I love their pizza.
(4)John D.
Remarkably good Italian food from this Yelped pizzeria lying smack dab in the middle of the Poconos. We were fairly shocked with the quality of their product up here in the hills far from societal competition. The veal, chicken & eggplant over a bed of pasta (bought pasta not made fresh but acceptable) was above our minimal expectations. The gravy was quite good a pleasant mix of sweet & acid. The PIZZA was really good, thin with a slightly crusty finish as we requested. They have super dinner specials at remarkable prices. This was the best value we found in the area taking account quality, quantity & price. Young servers do their best to meet your needs. Unlimited fountain drinks that will make the kids happy. If you hanker for an affordable Italian meal while in the Poconos swing by. Not 5 star dining, but a pretty good lil spot to grab a bite. BYOB bonus!
(3)Al H.
Best deal on the mountain. Two dinners for $20, with a salad. Large portions and good quality.
(4)Chuck S.
Outside is a bit put offish but the food is excellent. There were 7 of us and everyone had something different. It was all good.
(4)Diane D.
Had a quick dinner of veal parmesan tonight. Very good! The salad was paltry, but what there was was fresh and good. And it would have been better with real, crusty Italian bread... But I seldom eat the pasta that usually comes as a side. I'm picky about the spaghetti sauce. This was really good, and I ate it all! We'll definitely be back!
(3)Joel S.
I'm giving this place a 5 star on the strength of the food. Yes, I've read some of the reviews about the cook-owner being rude. Maybe true, maybe not. I've never had an issue. We get up to Blakeslee on business about 4 times a year. Unless I'm short on time, this is my, (and my workers') favorite place. This pizza is one of the best around. Certainly the crust is heads and shoulders over most every other pizza crust in the area. Don't be scared off by the look of the shopping center where this place is. Yeh its pretty shameful. So that makes Papa Santos the crown-jewel of Blakeslee Corners. One more thing: you can look clear into the kitchen from the hallway. Spotless clean. Know what? If the owner was rude to me I might not go back again but before leaving, I'd order a few pies to go just one last time. :) Its that good.
(5)Brian Steph B.
Again, we have been coming to the Pocono's for years and haven't tried this place out until today! It was great. We read a couple of reviews here on Yelp and decided that we would come here instead of the pizza place at the other shopping center. We ordered take out. Upon my arrival to pick up... this place was really cute on the inside. Crappy shopping center but nice pizza joint restaurant dining. Maybe next time we will eat in. He had: Chicken Parm sandwich on a toasted roll. I had a bite, the marinara was tasty. He wolfed the whole thing down. He said it was really good. I had: Cheesesteak with fried onions. I would next time ask for my roll to be toasted. The roll was a little too soft for my liking for a cheesesteak. I like my rolls to be a little more hard, not stale, but more firm to help keep the gooey goodness inside the roll. It was plentiful. I only ate half. We shared the onion rings. They were more of a beer batter than a breadcrumb coating. I hate when you take a bite and the whole onion piece comes with it. That is the type of onion rings we had. They were a little cold, but we did get them to go and had about a 15 minute ride back to our house. I wouldn't hold this against them. We made out well 2 sandwiches, onion rings for $17. Not bad if you ask me.
(4)Eileen R.
We are vacationing and needed 12 pizzas in a hurry. They were very nice and pizzas are good. Cute place to eat in.
(4)Patrick C.
Really good pizza! By far not the greatest, but really good. The fried ravioli was just ok.
