We rediscovered this place after a long hiatus. As many other reviewers will tell you this area doesn't have much to choose from. However, Murphys loft is decent but certainly not outstanding. It is a bit on the pricey side with an order of wings running over twelve dollars. It is best to stay with the bar food and sandwiches, don't venture into the seafood my wife said, as her flounder was 3 little dried up strips of fish that were definately frozen. The place is nice with an outdoor bar, a small arcade, and it is a real log cabin. Staff and guest are very friendly.

I wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled into Murphy's, but I was pleasantly surprised. We chose to sit in the outdoor dining area and it was the perfect choice for a nice summer day. There's also a pool outback which looked great. The menu is pretty extensive so I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go. I ended up going simple - salad, grilled cheese and fries. For such a basic meal, everything was delicious. It was great to see they made their croutons, honey mustard, and hot sauce in house. Everyone else I was with also enjoyed their dishes as much as I enjoyed mine. FYI, the waitress informed me they do .50 cent wings on Monday nights with a ton of different flavors. She told me about a root beer reduction glaze as well as a bacon-maple sauce with bacon crumbles, to name a couple. This is my new favorite Pocono spot!

Went here on Monday when they had the special for wings... Probably the best chicken wings I've ever had and I'm not a chicken wing eater.. To be honest I'm very picky with greasy stuff but these wings are HEAVENLY I shared them with my family and ordered the mini crab cakes for myself as an appetizer. They are VERY generous on the crab meat in the crab cake. I have had Bonefish grill's Crab cakes and so far they are my favorite but I have to say with all honesty that these crab cakes were giving Bonefish are sure fire run for their money! I also ordered a plate of waffle fries and mozzarella sticks to fill my family up and not be too full and feel sick. Waffle fries were pretty good I'd definitely have them again, but steer clear of the mozzarella sticks they definitely need work and they are kinda flavorless but even that didn't affect my opinion of the other dishes I ordered. Long story short Great food, Great service and Great Ambiance!

Steak tips were gray. Yep gray. In a tasteless sauce. Stick with bar menu if you have to eat here.

Avoid at all costs unless you like the staff writing degrading and discriminatory remarks on you checks, not to mention the smell of sewage while eating your meal. Owners support their bigoted employee(s) rather than their paying customers. Keeping an employee who writes a hateful, discriminatory remark on a patrons check is unconscionable! There is absolutely no excuses for this in the year 2014!

3 stars for the fact that there ain't a whole lot to pick from up this way and it was at least decent, plus the people were very nice and friendly. We got a takeout order of Loaded Fries, which are like cheese and bacon fries, Chicken Marsala, and a French Dip with Au Jus. The fries were the highlight of the dinner. They also reheated well. The roast beef and jus? Not so much. The Marsala was ok; not the worst I've ever had but certainly not the best. The cut of chicken had a nice piece of inedible tendon or something right in the middle which made me not even want to continue, but I worked my way around it. The thing with boneless chicken in any recipe is that it basically has to be perfect from start to finish with no funny business in it. That was kind of a fail. Marsala sauce was alright though. They were nice enough to ask if we were staying in a hotel and provided plates, plastic forks and knives, and a ton of condiments. She said "no one likes to eat out of a box" and that made me smile. I've come to realize that you'd be safest ordering bar food. And they certainly are well-equipped as a bar. The problem was that on a Saturday night the bar was empty besides 3 old men chatting about their lawns and the poor hostess was yawning looking for something to do. I got to chatting with her while waiting for my order and she said that the volume of business is steady but this is about normal for a Saturday. It looked busier on the outskirts of the bar, which is a dining room off to the right and a patio on the left. Again, I can't comment on the rest of the places around here because the other two that were close by basically turned me away so I wound up here by process of elimination. For what it is, though, it's alright. Not a local, so I'll never have any reason to go back.

We have been coming to Murphy's for at least 10 years. We always order their clam chowder, which is usually very good. We went there 2 days go for lunch. Waited 15 minutes before we saw a waitress. This s not the way it usually is. A customer seated near us called the waitress over to complain that the chowder was corn soup not chowder! Since we came for the chowder we were a little concerned. When the waitress came with our beverages, she told us they were preparing the chowder and it would be a few more minutes. The chowder finally arrived and it was ice cold..not just cold but I've cold. After an hour in the restaurant she served us the heated soup. So disappointing. This was one of our favorites in the area.

Go for the buffalo shrimp, wings and beer. Everything else you can live without. You definetly feel like you're in the Poconos when you hit Murphs. Stay away from kids menu.

Don't waste anymore time driving around looking, stop now!! We stopped by on a Saturday night and almost left as it looked like a bar, they do have 2 sides on each of the bar that you walk into that are a traditional restaurant. Donna greeted us, and took great care of us from there! The wings are AWESOME! They were crisp and their homemade hot sauce was good and spicy too, thick homemade blue cheese with crispy fresh celery on the side finished the order nicely. I've had a few wings in my time and they were a top 5 for sure, the sauce comes on the side so that would be the only change. My wife had the clam chowdah that Donna said they were known for and she enjoyed it. I had the prime rib rib that was on special that night and it was great! I finished one of my kid's ice cream that their orders came with and it was good too! When I'm back up here in the Poconos I'll surely stop back. It's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they have a fair amount of options on the menu that all seem to be freshly made.

This place is a must to dine. Food is great at a very reasonable price. You wont be disappointed. The restaurant is an authentic log cabin that was constructed in 1934 of native spruce, harvested entirely from the woods in the back of the building.

The good things about this restaurant were the friendly server and the nice pool that customers can use. The bad things- it took about forty minutes to get the food- we were starving! And quite honestly none of our party really enjoyed the food.

Just went here over the fourth of July with some family. I had one of the best roast beef dip sandwiches ever!! The roast beef was tasty and tender just by itself, and there was a lot of it. My parents had the fish and chips which were also great. Our waitress was friendly, and some locals at another table said that both the roast beef and turkey are made fresh at the restaurant. Had a nice cold Yuengling also for a great price. I also really liked the old fashioned feel to the place. Great stop for lunch!

Well we were in Blakeslee and not much here. The lady at our hotel recommended Murphy's Loft . We arrived at 7pm and were seated and waited and waited. Our waitress asked if we had been helped 25 mins. later (menu's still in hand). We gave her our drink order and dinner order. We waited ...waited. I reminded my wife that we were here and where were we to go? We received our drinks 10 mins. later without the water we requested. Finally 80 mins. after arriving our food appeared. Meanwhile several customers got up and left before service. We paid and left...

This place was absolutely terrible, though I got exactly what I expected when I arrived. I ate here because options are few in this area and while it came highly recommended by locals, it was poor. The restaurant itself is dark and dirty. There is an outdoor patio which wasn't bad, but there were plenty of bikers filling the air with the smell of Harley exhaust and piercing our ears with revving engines in the parking lot. The food was bad; I ordered a cheese burger because I wasn't expecting much from the kitchen and what I got was flavorless and looked like store-bought frozen burger patties. It was shaped like a hockey puck. My girlfriend got a veggie burger which she described as "baby food mixed with bread crumbs". The prices were also a bit steep considering the location, quality of food, and the attentiveness of the wait staff. On the plus side, the beer was cold and Yeungling draft was dirt cheap. I think the only reason this place survives is because they are one of the only places around. Also, to categorize this place as "Pizza" is misleading.

PROS: Ah well, one of the few places open past a decent time in the area. Had a lot of difficuly finding a place with the Phillies game open late in the area. They were away at San Fran so it was gonna be late. CONS: TV placement and size are HORRIBLE! Limited beer selection. Kitchen closed at 11. There were more Phillies fans as customers, but the stupid bartender had to have the volume for the Yankees. Realize you're in the Poconos, NOT ALASKA! Disclaimer: Didn't have dinner there so can't rate the food.

This place is outstanding IMO. It's casual and comfortable, just don't set your expectations too high. I been a number of times for lunch and dinner, but have always stuck to the lunch menu. Don't go without an order of loaded waffle fries!

I enjoy eating in the patio because the dark bar inside isn't fit for food IMO. Good bar food. French fries, cheese steak, sandwiches are very good.

Stopped in for lunch I ordered a grilled chicken salad I paid a premium price for a very small salad and and it was awful. I asked for balsamic dressing and got italian, when I ask the waitress for the dressing I ordered she rudely informed me that that's there balsamic, and I don't know about any one else but I don't eat chicken fat, just nasty the cook didn't trim my chicken I never touched the salad And i wasn't offered a discount off my check nor did the waitress ask me if I wanted anything else bad service and food I wouldn't eat here again if I was starving.

Great food. Love the buffalo shrimp. Menu is for all. They have a great deck and outdoor bar for the hang. Prices are reasonable. There is even a pool out there! It is one of my favorite hangs near Arrowhead Lakes. Go for some brews and a hang.
