Went in after work on a Monday around 6pm, they were semi busy. I ordered the American Gangster burger and it took a little longer than normal to come out. When it did come it was cooked nicely and tasted really good. This was the 4th time there and have yet to see a serious problem. I will be back again.

I read alot of bad reviews but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt...should have went with my gut....the place is beautiful but I was extremely disappointed witht he food...first of all the waitress informed us before we even started ordering they were out of fresh brewed ice tea! and My husband ordered a bowl of soup that was literally less than a cup and i ordered an oder of sweet potatoe fries that were $8.00, the waitress said it was a huge basket which was a lie, there was probably the equivalent to maybe a cup and a half...WHAT a huge disappointment....most likelt we'll never go back

Tried this restaurant after seeing mixed reviews . I was hoping the reviews were wrong, but, sadly, the service, food, atmosphere are not so great. Perhaps in the summer the outside deck would help it seem better ( for a drink or two), but soo not worth it for the food:( Oh well, on to the next place.

I went here last night, and I has very disappointed. The atmosphere: VERY loud. We were in the tiny restaurant part to the side once you come in, but with the shape of the building, every noise from the bar echoed. Couldn't hear a conversation at my table, even when talking loudly. The food: A letdown. Most of the food is very overpriced for what you get. * The heart attack burger. $11.99, ad it comes with chips. If I wanted fries it would be an upcharge. Let's say it was so terribly done that I have been put off from eating burgers for a while. The bun was dry and hard. It broke apart as I tried to eat it. The burger (requested medium) was red on one small part, and the rest was over cooked, and the top of it had alot of char. I think it was probably the worst burger I have ever had. McDonald's is a much better burger for 1/3 the price. The burger selection is also limiting. (You guys should have at least copied your Pottstown Brickhouse burger selection) * The Shepard's pie: should be called plate of mashed potatoes. Almost nothing else in it. No gravy. No seasoning. No Flavor. A pieces of vegetables, a tiny layer of meat (barely). * Mac And Cheese Bites: Very few on the plate for $7. Had an odd taste. Wasn't sure if they were stale or the type of coating they had on them. Overall, this place isn't worth the trip, unless you are meeting up with friend to watch a sports event on TV in their bar and you want overpriced drinks. Plenty of other options for that around.

Went there for dinner, got seated right away in the restaurant. We ordered Honey BBQ boneless wings and the chicken cheese steak. The wings were big and the sauce was good. However the 'chicken cheese steak' was basically a chicken sandwich on a steak roll. It tasted good but I was hoping something more 'Philly style' I guess, with shredded chicken and more cheese. I got the sweet potato fries with maple syrup and they were great. We'll be back, there were plenty of other things to try and the bar looks like a great place to hang out with friends.

Made a sudden right turn into the parking lot on a hot Saturday afternoon to finally check it out. Admittedly, we went in with not high expectations since we are not really pub foodies. And we were delightfully surprised. I was happy to find that they serve shark! I had to try it, so we ordered the Shark Bites. Served piping hot with a delicious Lager dip. Next time, I'm going to go for the entree version. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was beaming with pulled pork. BBQ sauce on the side, so you can control the amount. Tender and juicy until the last bite. Honeykins got the Shiracha Burger and went 'Whoa'. Which he enjoyed. Burger was cooked just right. He went with fries and it was crunchy and didn't get soggy as we finished our meal. Service was great, informative and friendly. Heard some comments that it was chilly inside. So, if you get cold easily, just grab a light sweater. On a hot day like today, it was just right. We will definitely be back.

I came here yesterday (07.03.15) with two of my friends. We made it in time for happy hour. This place is really neat! We were seated outside on the deck but you can also sit inside. It's a very spacious establishment that reminds me of being young(er) again! I saw a group of friends who were seated behind me that were playing Jenga - EXTREME! The pieces were HUGE; it was like a car accident; I didn't want to stare at the young man who was preparing for the flood, but I couldn't look away! I ordered a dozen clams (.39 cents per clam), an order of waffle fries ($4), and lastly a MEGA mango margarita ($8). Everything was delicious. The clams came with bread that was PERFECT for dipping. The waffle fries were hot and crunchy and my drank was fantastic. I can't remember our waitress's name ( very pretty. red hair. legs for days ) but she was amazing! She was very attentive; never had to do the awkward look around to get her attention. Our glasses were constantly full, which is a big pet peeve of mine. Overall, a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back! Thanks so much!

Saw BlackJax going up as we travelled west. They always seemed busy. We finally decided to stop in. I had the chili and the Cuban sandwich, and my wife had chili and a salad. The chili and spicy, but they gave us bread with the chili. My wife's salad was made of fresh field greens. My Cuban was on a nicely grilled flatbread. It was very good. I had so much that I took half home with me.

My mother planned a surprise 30th birthday party here for me this past Friday! The event crew at Blackjaxs was more than accommodating and very flexible. Blake our server was outstanding! Our food and drink was always kept up with. Melissa, the event coordinator, worked with my mother to make sure the decorations, food, and set-up was perfect. We were in the nook before the main dining room. Although a bit snug for 30 people, the staff was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this location for any party or gala.

My husband and I stopped at the restaurant as we are not from the area but were in the area for an event. I saw that someone posted the comment about the service dog and as always there are 3 sides to every story. In this case the customer, the owner and mine. The owner or manager was not in the wrong. All they did was ask if it was a service dog. I am very familiar with the laws as well. I trained police dogs for 35 plus years. I am aware that often people bring in dogs with "service dog" jackets and even fake badges. All the staff did was ask if it was a documented dog and the customer for very upset and became irate. In my mind anyone who had a service dog would be happy to provide the proper identification. In my opinion, it did not appear to be a true service dog. Now as far as a review of the food and service well it was nothing exciting but I do not think the review from the other poster is valid whatsoever. Again I know dogs and the expectations of what happens when the handlers are asked for proof it's a true service dog. The handler became upset because it was obvious it was not a real service dog and he was caught in a lie.

I've eaten a lot of places around NY, CT, MA, and PA, this place does an exceptional burger. The southerner: burger w/ pulled pork, onion ring, and fireball bbq sauce, with fries on the side. Good music good people, insanely tastey food for a good price. Next time I go back I'm going to try the mako steak.

Only went here one time and had a steamed shrimp special that was fantastic. Will definitely go again. Regarding the Dog story posted below by David H, I have heard that the owner went out of his way to attempt and accommodate David and his dog however; David was being a total a$$. Don't believe everything you read online. Go and form your own opinion.

Worst manager and kitchen staff ever at this restaurant. All of us were served their entree but 1 in our party. Our waitress was wonderful and tried to get our entree out, but the manager blamed her in front of us and was rude to us. The managers name was Jen, will never eat here again. Rude manager. Sorry used to love Brick House so thought this place would be good. Not.

I absolutely love this place. I've been here twice now and both times we received great service and well made drinks. The first time we came our server, who was also the bartender, told us all about the different weekly specials. He made our drinks quickly and brought them to us just as quick. He suggested we watch the comedy they offer on Saturday nights. The comedians weren't the funniest, but it was enjoyable. The price for comedy is also pretty reasonable for something different to do on a night out. We didn't eat dinner this evening because we had dinner at a different place, but all the food that was being brought to the surrounding tables looked so good we knew we would do dinner here next time. After comedy we spent the rest of the evening sitting at the bar. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We came back last night to eat. We started with the Mega Margarita that was on special for happy hour. I'm glad we decided to share it because the name isn't just for show. This thing is like 4 margaritas in one giant glass. It was nice too because it was a well made margarita. Some places water them down when they're that large, but not this one. Since we weren't particularly hungry we just shared some appetizers. We ordered the sesame tuna, fried pickles, and shire shrooms. I also ordered a small house salad. Our server was very attentive and friendly. All the food was delicious, with exception of the mushrooms. They weren't terrible, it's just the sauce they cook them in could have been reduced down a bit more. It was a tad vinegary tasting. The fried pickles in particular were very good. Since it's almost St. Patricks day the bar was handing out hats and necklaces. We had a great time! This place is my go-to girls night out bar. They also have karaoke, trivia, and poker different nights of the week. I can't wait to go back.

Quesadillas and fries were delicious. Hot nacho cheese dip was disgusting. My son had a buffalo chicken sandwich...chicken was black, burnt, & dry. Wings were good. Service was great. One waitress walked heavily and you could hear her stomping back and forth down the hallway every minute which was annoying. I drank two margueritas which were tiny and they show a separate charge on the bill for the shot of tequila in each drink. I would be happier going to On the Border or a place with decent wings and better prices instead of this place. Atmosphere was nothing special, very large building, seemed like a maze of different dining areas. Nothing about this establishment made me want to come back. Maybe in warm weather I would go back to sit on the outside deck, but not if smoking is allowed.

Can you give a place zero stars? I ordered wings the first time I was here. They arrived late and burnt. I didn't ask for a replacement order because the first one took too long. The second time I was here, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. Which was basically a chicken cutlet drowned in ranch dressing with a touch of buffalo sauce. The service is crap. Shit to be exact. And it's overpriced. Not worth wasting your money at all.

I had known about blackjax from friends and family and had heard mixed reviews. I wish I could say I had the opportunity to sample the food, but the lack of customer service prevented that. I went in today seeing a sign on the billboard for 11.99 entrees for Monday and was excited. But after going inside and waiting 5 minutes for a hostess to even acknowledge that I was there I was finally seated. I was given a paper menu that kids had drawn on with crayons. When I asked about the special I was told it didn't start until 5pm despite the sign not saying so outside. So I politely said thank you but I think ill just go in that case, the waitress said she would try to do something and sent out a manager who was not yet on duty. The manager reiterated that the special did not start until 5 like I somehow still didn't understand that, I again said I would rather just go and was lead out through a plastic flap. I can honestly say I don't know if ill try again at another time, the service was lacking to the point I'm uncertain if the food can be worth it.

After the whole dog story I will frequent this establishment ten times as much. The food is good, the service is as to be expected for as busy as this restaurant was when I was there, is the good anything special, no but the atmosphere was action if fun. As to the other recent reviews, mentally I'll and mentally disturbed are not the same. Also, if you were not there and don't know the actual facts, keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

Went there the first time. Food wasn't spectacular... Okay! Service was long and un attentive since we went on a Monday night hardly anyone there. Once again everyone raved about this place.. Not impressed! Save your money.. If you you like bar food and the smell of stale beer then this is your place. Take wet wipes to clean your spot at the bar... Has that dirty bar rag wiped feel.. Sticky don't lean

Had their buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken was burnt. I also got a lager and it was in a miniature glass and still 4.25! Service was ok overall, lots of young servers. Atmosphere isn't great, feels like a biker bar with upscale prices. No bueno

Tried this newly opened restaurant on its third day. We were seated immediately and taken care of by a friendly server, Danielle. We got our drinks and food without a long wait. Had the Blackjax beef dip and buffalo chicken sandwiches - both were good but nothing special. Prices were reasonable. Since it just opened, we were prepared for anything but our experience was good. The people near us were seated and no one took care of them for a really long time. And then it took another 15 minutes until they got their drinks. We went out to the bar area and talked to people that had ordered drinks and still didn't have them over 20 minutes later. It seemed that there was confusion over which servers had which tables and some people were not getting attended to. I'm sure this will improve as days go by.

Firstly, I should mention that I am a foodie so may be more critical than most. I bounced my opinion off my husband first and he was in agreement. My observations of the meal: Beverage selection is very nice. I had an Angry Orchard that seemed a bit on the flat side. My husband also had a beer that was fine. I did not find the hard cider flat enough to send back to that's on me. I just thought I would mention it. I also had a fountain soda later that was carbonated properly. Caesar Salad - A little on the small side considering how inexpensive lettuce is. The romaine was slightly wilted. Dressing was tasty and lightly applied, just the way we like it. Grated cheese was on top. Although it could have been hand-grated, my first impression was it came from a can and I found that to be a little undesirable. I would have liked to see shredded or shaved parmesan. Salad was served with a crostini which was very good. Jersey Fries - the fry cook needs practice. I had a few "blobs" of fries stuck together with slightly undercooked batter so the fry basket must not have been shaken properly during cooking. Seasoning (Old Bay) was a little heavy so it made the fries seem too salty. Overall, we enjoyed the fries. AYCE Crab Legs - I get that you have to dial down your expectations a bit with an AYCE special. Appearance - a huge misstep. Chef apparently boils his crab legs with vegetables. There were pieces of carrot, celery, onion in the basket served along with the crab legs. I believe this may have been what gave the crab legs a very unappetizing color. The clusters were yellow (instead of white) and the legs and claws almost brown. The legs were also very skinny with the lower portions having very little meat. I give BlackJax a pass, perhaps they did not have any control over the meatiness of the legs. The good...all legs were attached to clusters, no loose legs and they appeared to be fresh and cooked to order and were served hot. We had some difficulty getting subsequent orders of crab legs due to our lackluster MIA server. I did note the table in back of us getting very good and quick service from another member of the wait staff but later overhead conversation that the other table contained an employee. Not sure if he had a much better server or it's because he works there. Things that make you go hmmm. Although we had ordered first, received our first order of legs first, the table in back of us received their seconds before us. To be fair, I noticed this water hustling with other tables too. Placing the clarified butter in the basket with the legs, probably not a good call as it spilled. Again, I blame our server. At one time we were even told there were no clean cups for butter but they would be out soon so we had to start eating our legs butter-less or let them get cold while we waited. Luckily it was a matter of minutes until we received our cups of butter but it was not clarified. Only the first basket contained butter that was clarified for some reason. Not a big deal but noted by both of us. In closing, service was poor, we sat with empty beer glasses and a bucket full of crab leg remnants with our waitress nowhere in sight. We waited with empty plates and no additional orders on an AYCE night. No wet wipes were provided. I think that's a first for a restaurant serving crab legs with no wet wipes. Oh and no manager that I noticed. It would have been nice to see a manager, hostess, etc. visiting tables. I doubt we will return. Note to the management: On your menu, you advertise pico de gallo dip which in your words contains "tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil served with artisan bread". Not even close. Educate yourself about food terms before you use them. You just described bruschetta. Pico de gallo is a fresh salsa used in Mexican cooking.

Stopped in Black Jax this past Sunday afternoon to check it out and watch a little Football. Since the Birds weren't playing until 8 PM the bar was not overly crowded. Upon arriving I was pleasently suprised. The place is real sharp looking. They have a huge outdoor bar which is probably great in the nicer weather. Sat at the bar in front of a giant TV. Football was on and they were offering their Happy Hour specials all day. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and I opted for a Victory Dirt Wolf. Great beer, but not crazy about the name. Wings were on special and were tastey! The bartender was cool and seemed to know about the beer he served. Everyone there seemed friendly and we call all bond rooting against the Cowboys! I will definitely come back. If your out this way looking for a good beer and some wings check it out. I read all the other reveiws, but really, my experience was pleasent. But maybe that was just the Dirt Wolf blinding my judgement!;^)

Sunday 10/6, we were excited to check out the new place. The bar areas were busy. However, the vast restaurant area was not even a quarter full. Our part of 6 was sat quickly enough and got our drink order out of the way. We ordered some apps and burgers. A hour, yes an hour!!!, later our waitress approached explaining they were busy in the bar and that was what was delaying our apps. Another 10 minutes went by and I went to find a manager. She asked what the problem was and I explained that we still had not seen our apps after an hour wait. She replied that she would look into it. I return to the table to find the waitress explaining that the apps would be out in a few minutes. We decided this was not going to work and went to leave. The manager met us on the way out stating that the delay was unacceptable and she had no excuses. Her biggest failure wasn't the lack of management in the kitchen ticket times but, the idea we were looking for another excuse. She needed to try and give us a reason to give them a second chance and come back. However, she was content to let us walk out the door. Upon leaving we met another family who were also waiting to speak with manager. They had been there two hours and were still waiting for their dinners after receiving their apps early on. Obviously they were far more patient then we were. Very disappointed, will tell everyone to skip black jax !

After reading other reviews our expectations for Black Jax were quite low but we had seen the sign for a comedy show so we decided to give it a try. We had reservations for 7:15 and we're seated promptly. Our waitress was great, she took our drink orders as soon as we were seated and delivered our drinks within minutes. She also took our dinner order right away. The food came quickly and we all enjoyed a delicious meal of wings, sandwiches (which were generously sized) and fries. The owner stopped by our table to see how we were doing. We then enjoyed the comedy show which was very funny. My only suggestion is an improvement in the sound system as it was a bit difficult to understand what was being said at times.

We just got home from Blackjax and we didn't like the food at all. Some items were too salty and some weren't seasoned at all. I found their prices to be equivalent to other restaurants in the area if not more expensive. I will go elsewhere.

Today we celebrated my friends Birthday here. Very impressive establishment. Typical looking modern sports bar feel. Lots of staff today and it was beautiful outside. The porch was busy. We began in the inside bar. Service was disjointed because we couldn't catch up with our server. I asked our bartender for some assistance which was helpful. We moved to the porch after dinner where we were served by very friendly bartenders. Food looked satisfying. My friends had burgers and pub fare. I sampled the broccoli bites, hotshot chicken tenders (name?) and chicken quesadilla. Overall food score was favorable accept I couldn't dig in right away because our server didn't give us utensils and such. I ordered a Peach Margarita which was served like a cocktail without ice. Tasty but not what I expected. Second round came out Frozen. Again I didn't order it frozen and less tasty. Out of my way to come again unless asked.

Friday evening around 6:30 wife and I stopped in for the first time. We were just looking for a couple of beers and some typical bar food. The bartender was aloof and seemed distracted. After ordering a plate of Nachos we heard another couple ask how their food order was coming along. The bartender said he'll check it out. I asked if they had been waiting long and they said about an hour! I took notice that the bartender never came back to give them an estimate to when their food was coming. 10 minutes later someone served their food yet they had to ask and wait a few minutes more for utensils! Our app came about 20 minutes after ordering. Ok a little longer than usual but no big deal. The nachos were so-so. Something about the ground beef was odd. We were going to order burgers but decided it best to leave and go somewhere else. After getting the check I left cash on the bar with check and waited and waited for change... That was it, enough. We left enough to pay the bill and a couple bucks tip for a message that will probably go unnoticed! If I owned this place I'd get a manager and replace the bartender.

Great place, friendly service, free wifi, cold beer and the food is very good. Not sure where the negative reviews came from, we would definitely visit here again.
