Great place! It doesn't look like anything from the outside, but the food and service are great! Lunch prices are 10 for an entree and its enough to take half of it home for dinner!

Okay. Late lunch with my family from out of town, about 3pm. Restaurant was completely empty, which we really didn't mind. Going to make this review short and sweet. Food good. Our waitress was friendly. You get charged $4 extra if you share a meal.

Does not understand the meaning of reservations. Is constantly overbooking the restaurant or accepting walk-ins to overflow the restaurant. There is zero room to wait, even the tables are nearly stacked on top of one another, if you want a romantic dinner, choose somewhere else, there is no possibility of private conversation. We get it, it's a small restaurant, but handle how you seat people accordingly. The food is quite good, if not for the ineptitude of the restaurant's management to handle reservations and general wait time, this would get a 4 or 5 star rating for food, but they destroy that with how they choose to run the business side of the restaurant. Get reservations at Mama Nina's, the same or better food and they know how to run a business.

Tried this place for a rare date night with the hubby. Garlic bread was good. Salad, so-so. Fried calamari gave my jaw a work-out and lacked imagination and flavor. I ordered my favorite dish, linguini with white clam sauce. It tasted like salt water with a hint of spoiled seafood. I barely touched it. The waitress, who never checked on us after serving our dishes, eventually sent her friend over to ask if i would like my untouched food boxed. I said "no thank you". She cleared my completely intact plate without asking why I didn't eat any of it. A few minutes went by and my waitress came to the table and asked if we would like dessert. We replied "no" and asked for the check. She eventually dropped off the check without further comment. We entertained ourselves by watching several fruit flies hop on our wine glasses. We paid and left. End of story. Never again. Give this place a miss.

There's (full) fly strips hanging in the kitchen (we could see them every time the kitchen door swung open). My salad had a piece of the ceramic plate in it I almost ate before my husband thankfully saw before sending it back. Our entire time there clocked approximately four long hours and some people in our party even left early without eating their entire meals because of it. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped here on a whim on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Typical Italian-American restaurant. Way overpriced for the quality of the food. Too much sauce and a 45-minute wait for our food to come out on a Sunday night. Our server never even came by to refill our drinks. We try to eat at small businesses when they deserve our business but this was our first and last time here.

Having the best lunch experience. I feel as if Iam sitting in my grandma's dìning room(if she were italian and made the best italian sauce in the valley).... they even made a special off the menu soup for my lunchmate....

First off let me say, I used to work in a restaurant for 8 years (both as an entry-level employee and later as a manager). My girlfriend and I went to That's Amore on Saturday (5/11/13) for dinner around 6pm. We had been there once before and not had any issue and the food was delicious. Anyway, we walked in and were greeted by a hostess who sat us immediately. My girlfriend had eaten a late lunch so wasn't planning on ordering a large dinner. She debated getting only an appetizer or ordering from the kids menu (which didn't list an age limit nor did it say you couldn't order from it). She decided on getting something from the kids menu. The waitress came over to take our order and when my girlfriend ordered the waitress told us the policy was they didn't allow people to order from the kids menu. A bit annoyed, we asked her to come back in a few minutes so we could figure it out. We decided on getting an appetizer and one dish we could share (as with a lot of Italian restaurants, the portions are very large). She then told us there would be an additional $3 fee if we wanted to share the plate even though we ordered 2 things. At this point, I was a bit frustrated and asked to speak to the manager (who I was told is the owners fiance). We waited a few minutes and the manager came over. We explained our situation to her and asked if it would be possible to get something from the kids menu. She then said, rather rudely, that it was policy that they did not allow this and if we wanted to share we would definitely be charged the $3 fee for sharing a $20 plate. We tried explaining that my girlfriend didn't want that much food but after a few more rude statements from the manager I had decided I didn't want to give this restaurant any business so we got up and walked out. Now I completely understand restaurants have their own policies and tell all the employees they must follow them, that's just good business. However, repeat customers are a large part of any restaurants financial well-being. This particular restaurant lost lifetime repeat customers over $5.95 worth of food from a kids meal and a managers poor customer service skills. A policy is a policy, but when the situation get escalated to the managers level and you have the opportunity to not only make money but also make your customer happy so they come back again, you let certain things slide. That night they lost a $50 check over $6 worth of food. That just isn't good customer service or business sense. If she had made any iota of effort to make us happy, I would have appreciated it and continued to eat at their establishment because they showed they care about their customers. I will not be going back to That's Amore and I will tell this story to other people who might get a bad taste in their mouth and not go. I will be going to Mama Nina's on Main Street in Bethlehem. Similar menu, better quality, and good customer service since they care about their customers.

Four of us had dinner last Saturday, 16 Mar 13. Food quality and quantity was very good, BYOB cut down on the expense, server and staff were excellent. One big negative: absolutely too loud and I attribute that to having too many tables (and they are too close to each other) in the dining area. Only place where we had to raise our voice so that we could understand what we were saying to each other. Music was too loud also. At one point it was turned up even higher. I saw another couple ask to have it turned down and they complied. I don't expect it be quiet with so many people in the room but it bordered on the ridiculous, again, because the room had too many tables. The above average loudness would be a factor in my decision to return. Perhaps if I made my reservation earlier or later it wouldn't be so bad (ours was at 6:30).

Love this place. It's not very big, but the wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. When your arrive you get a basket of oh-so-good fresh bread served with herb-infused olive oil. The creamy balsamic dressing served with the salad is one of the best I've had. My husband orders fish and I order pasta, and neither of us has been disappointed in the four times we've been here. It's B.Y.O., so take along a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy!

This is one of my favorite places to go for Italian. Great food (GARLIC!!!), great service, just an all around fab dining experience. I have never eaten anything that wasn't incredibly tasty, whether it's on the regular menu or one of the specials. And the appetizers are delicious (try the rice balls)!! Love that it's BYOB, as well. I never mind the noise or the crowd; for the food, it's worth it.

This restaurant was great when it first opened with a personal touch from the owner and the servers. Something horrible has happened since then. The food is almost always stale and inconsistent, the professionalism is lacking at all levels, and there just seems to be an essence of fast food quality that permeates all aspects of this place. There are so many better choices in the immediate area. Don't waste your time or money on such a horrible experience. What a shame. Just when I thought the place was returning to its old Pan e Vino glory. Maybe it really is cursed as everyone says: the murders, fires, and other terrible things that have recently happened there radiate from the location.

After working until 7:30 pm, and since it was a 75 degree October evening, we decided instead of cooking dinner, to try That's Amore's advertised half priced appetizers on their outdoor patio. Apparently, we were the only ones and would soon find out why. We brought a few beers, but, decided to have a "complimentary" glass of wine with our Italian food. We ordered a scallop appetizer off the specials menu and the waitress recommended the "Homemade" Mozzarella appetizer. I was wrong in thinking Homemade meant they made their own mozzarella in house, but, the waitress informed me they just bread it in house. The food was ok. The scallops were cooked well but overwhelmed by garlic and they were covered in escarole. The marinara sauce on the mozzarella was overly sweet, perhaps to satisfy the American necessity for sugar in everything. We then ordered clams on the half shell, which have no business being on the menu. At which point, our waitress informed us that because we had taken a "complimentary" glass of wine, our appetizers would not be half price. She then brought out the clams which were unidentifiable. Chopped and mutilated perhaps bait clams slopped back into a clam shell. I never seen anything like it. But, based on deception and false advertisement alone, we will not return to That's Amore.

Being from Brooklyn I'm pretty picky about good Italian food. We gave That's Amore a shot and boy were we surprised. From the appetizer through coffee and desert everything was great tasting and the portions were big. It is very difficult to find a place that makes veal parm right. This place got it right. I told my wife that the cook must be from NY to get the veal this good. Sure enough the owner and cook came out to greet us and he's an Italian from Bensonhurst Brooklyn. He sent a complimentary pastry that blew us away. We will definitely be back. The service was great and the place was packed for a Monday night. We highly recommend That's Amore!

This is your quintessential American Italian restaurant... OK food, large portions, above average prices, average service, strange crowd and management. There's nothing wrong with the place except that is could use some serious renovations inside and out but it's just nothing special... plus I had some crazy old Italian lady yelling in my ear for an hour in both next to me and strangely loud Sinatra music playing over the speakers. Just not a good time, many better places to hit and if you really want Italian go for a better quality Northern Italian place.

Large portions and BYOB. Friendly servers and lively environment. I like the giant portion, it's like two meals for the the price of one. Two people could share an entree and still have enough to take home. Shirmp/chicken parm + Penne ala vodka was really delicious!

An American-Style Italian restaurant of solid quality. Huge portions, and excellent service. The chef used to be the chef at Mama Nina's in Downtown, and has now opened his own shop. Decor and interior are pretty good. You will not be disappointed if you eat here, as long as you know you're getting huge portions. The meat balls are the size of baseballs. One minor annoyance is that these guys serve baked ziti that is made out of penne. The rest of their baked dishes are fine, but seriously guys - penne is penne and ziti is ziti.

We ordered takeout today for 4 people. Picking the food up took 12 minutes since there was 1 person working the dining room AND doing takeout. The menu and prices online are posted on their website. Upon picking it up, they argued that the one meal was an extra $1 and we must have been looking at their old menu. I said well that is the menu you have posted on your website. They threw a new menu at me and showed me the price. I could not believe that they refused to honor this price! As far as I am concerned, that is illegal and morally wrong. We love the food but will never ever patronize this establishment. They would rather loose $1 than keep a happy customer coming back. I should also mention that my work occasionally does take out for 10-20 people, so I hope they realize how much money they lost on this deal.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
