Just like Jim, I live fairly nearby. And just like Jim, I really can't help but feel like i really mean this to be somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I've been here a few times though and there's usually a nice amount of food for cheap and everything goes smoothly and simply. Nothing to write home about, nothing to be upset about, either. To put it most simply, it's a restaurant easily judged by its storefront: it looks like a cheap Chinese food place and that's what it is. But i'm definitely not complaining about that.

Somehow, I feel giving Tasty Garden 2 stars doesn't do it justice, but 3 stars is somewhat pushing it a bit. I love how cheap this restaurant is, but it is also very utilitarian. Firstly, it's like a three minute walk from my house. Secondly, you go there, get your huge combo platter (around $5-$6), then leave. Service is quick and no frills. Don't expect red carpet treatment here. Easy peasy for cheap eats. I almost always order the boneless spareribs here. This is the one place I know I can satisfy a sudden craving for it. They make them really tasty here. For some reason or another, a lot of Chinese restaurants around here either make them very dry and tough or simply don't make them at all. It's very frustrating for a fan like me. I order take out only here. I have never dined specifically inside. Never have, never will. The place has odd hours and tends to close early. It also has been robbed a couple of times during daytime hours on a relatively busy street. Need I say more?

I like Tasty Garden. I think their food is always fresh, and they don't overseason stuff. I'm thinking as I'm writing this about what makes a good Chinese restaurant...their entrees aren't overly oily (I hate when you can see the oil swirling in the sauce)...they're not overly salty or soy-sauced...their broth has great flavor...they always put tons of wontons in the soup...the veggies are always plentiful and fresh. I actually find this restaurant better than average. It's clean (I've seen others that are FILTHY). It's fast. Their delivery people are nice. The lady at the counter is nice. You get a lot of food when you order a lunch special. Try it!

Like the other reviews, I live close and that's the reason why on occasion I go to Tasty Garden. The inside is very small and not exactly some place to stay and eat but I've seen a few brave souls inside enjoying their grub in the "dining room". I personally do not eat this type of cuisine at all and only go when my wife has a craving for the once in a blue moon sweet and sour chicken or something of the like. She rates it as favorable, although she's never seen the inside of the store, and while it's not the greatest it fits the bill since hardly anyone is ever there you're order is always done fast and the prices are very reasonable.

Terrible service! Got my order mixed up and the women gave me attitude saying I asked for the wrong order. Never ordering here again! STAY AWAY!

I live just a block away from this place, and I always like the food here. Nothing super fantastic, but the food is done quickly and the prices are good. It's not the kind of place you sit and eat, since there are only two tables and they are usually taken by people waiting for their food. Overall, good American Chinese food and nice service. I don't see any reason to drive further for any other restaurant when I can just walk to this one and be happy.

For what it is, a typical Chinese take out joint, Tasty Garden is well above average. For the quick Friday dinner this place can't be beat. I can walk to pick it up, there's plenty of kid friendly options, they will actually customize if you ask, and most importantly, they use fresh ingredients which results in my 4 star review. Been going there since it opened and have never had a bad meal. They are super friendly too. This kind of place really only serves the neighborhood it's in, so, if you're in West Bethlehem and in the mood for some Chinese-American take out, I recommend Tasty Garden.

Good take out chinese food a few blocks from my house. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it's closer than the grocery store.

Pretty average Americanized Chinese grub. Good eggrolls, is there cinnamon in them?

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
