Olive Branch Cafe and Restaurant is a must go to in Bethlehem. My dad and I were killing some time in Bethlehem before a college tour and we decided to stop for lunch in the small family run Middle Eastern restaurant, seeing the good Yelp reviews. I am not from around here, as I live near Boston, but going here was a very wise decision. When we went inside the restaurant, it was not busy whatsoever, and a nice older man tended to us. My dad got the chicken kabob lunch and I got the combination kabob entree, which came with rice and fatuch salad. Definitely made a good choice coming here, as I had probably one of the best meals I've had so far on my Pennsylvania college road trip. Highly recommend this place if you want to switch it up a little bit and get a taste of a different culture!

Closed! We drove about 20 miles out of our way to get here, based on Yelp reviews. And this restaurant is closed! Having a salad at a Wendy's (sob).

A cute mom and pop place with a cute, homey ambience. The place wasn't too busy when my mom and I went because it was around 4 pm and kind of an off hour to be eating. It looks like not much from the outside, but trust me, it's worth the try. It seemed like it was a mom and her son working there when we went in. The son was super nice and provided great service. I got the chicken kebabs with rice, which were well-seasoned and tender. But OH MY GOD, the humus. It was sooo smooth and delicious. I didn't have any of the desserts but they looked so damn good.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. When I go I end up ordering 4-6 appetizers and with lunch and desert for two it is still less than $40. Order kibbee, hummus, and arnabit. Must haves. Hummus has a subtle flavor which Is unique to this place and is my personal favorite. Arnabit is delectable. I've gotten vegetarians to change by the kibbee. Chicken or falafel shawarma are great or the roasted vegetables is like a personal pizza. Don't forget the baklava, eating it sends you to another world for a moment. So sweet and syrupy. I'd recommend lunch over dinner. Price, service, and food are 5 stars - local gem.

Love this place! It has the best falafel! They're crispy and well-seasoned. I've never had better. I also enjoyed the hummus and salad. It's all simple and refreshing. The venue is a little desolate if you're the only one(s) there, but the food is great. So you should visit. I'd recommend the peanut butter pie as well :)

I have tried kafta, chicken and lamb kabab here for several times and all of them are great. I am not a fan of it's rice, but if you want to try it, you can add it to your meal.

Actually surprised (and embarrassed) to see I haven't updated this review in so long. We've been coming here consistently for years and just love it. It's a quiet little storefront in South Bethlehem across from Pete's Hot Dogs. Easy street parking or go down to Wells Fargo lot. BYOB with amazing, fresh food in a calm and friendly atmosphere. Family run and totally laid back. If you know the food, you'll be comfortable. If you don't know the food, everyone you deal with is happy to answer your questions and walk you through what to order and what you might like. Plenty of vegetarian options. We prefer to do a ton of apps and take our dinners home for leftovers to make sure we leave room for the homemade desserts. (Peanut Butter pie, FTW.)

One of the better food places in the entire Lehigh Valley and so charming. It's a very small Mom & Pop operation, and eating there makes you feel good about contributing to the local economy. I've eaten there a few times already and my order has always been delicious. Make sure to try their amazing cakes & pies (& baklava, of course) -- the hefty dessert portions are enough to feed you for a whole day. Our waiter, and presumably owner of the restaurant, was very attentive. My friend had a very hilarious exchange with him that went something like this -- Friend: What's the peanut butter pie? Owner: It's a peanut butter pie! (said with gusto) Friend: Yes, but what is it? Can you describe it? Owner: It's a peanut butter pie! (again said with gusto) HILARIOUS! Despite receiving only a tautological definition, she ordered the pie and it was amazing. Though this place is hidden, it's worth searching it out. One note for dinner goers -- it's BYO, so don't forget to bring your own ouzo.

Great appetizers - mixed pies and tabouli. Freshness of each apparent! The feta pie was our favorite of the three (meat, grape leaf, feta) Lamb kabob excellent with perfect seasoning. Had the mixed kabob platter and this one stood out as the best. Others were delicious as well. Grilled Kibbee not so interesting. Kind of dry and one-note. This might be a traditional dish but to our palates, nothing we really found outstanding. Same can be said for the rice side. Baklava was really great. Not too sweet and definitely tasted like a homemade dessert. Many other desserts that seemed worth trying (even for a non-dessert person like ourselves.) The service was outstanding and the personal touch the owners provide made the experience all the more rewarding. Really appreciate everything they are doing at this establishment. Will definitely be returning to try more of their offerings!

Mmmm, I never get to the entrees here, because we just order a bunch of appetizers that cover the table and eat that way, mmm-ing over each plate. The owner is Syrian and retired from Bethlehem Steel. You'd think he might just want to rest, but no, he started a restaurant! We asked him for his hummus recipe because it is so creamy and smooth, and he said, "You don't need a recipe; you just taste it!" Well, maybe *he* can. :-) There are not that many tables, and they are close together, perfectly cozy. BYOB is nice, attentive, and fast. This is just wonderful healthy affordable Middle Eastern fare with plenty for vegetarians and vegans. I am obsessed with arnibit and could eat it every day. The last time we were there, another couple showed us how you can read the shapes left behind on your Turkish coffee mug, cool.

I'm so glad I found this place, I would keep coming for the hummus alone! It's so silky smooth with the right amount of garlic and lemon. This isn't that bland thick stuff you find at other places. You could eat here and never get to the entrees, the appetizers are so good and filling. falafel, spinach pies, pita, kebobs. sigh, so good! I had the fish with tahini sauce as my entree, delicious. make sure to make room for dessert!

I have been wanting to return for sometime. Today I had lunch there with my parents. They are the latest fans! The shwarma, fetusch salad, sampler of meat pies, macaroon cookie, peanut butter pie, iced tea and Arabic coffees were all most excellent! Every dish was fresh. We put some salad in our shwarma sandwiches. The peanut butter pie was not too heavy: the peanut butter filling is like a mousse, the chocolate is a slightly thin layer on top with a rich graham cracker crust. I love the layered flavors in every dish, including the drinks. Even the iced tea had nuanced flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant, with expertly homemade dishes and desserts; and warm, friendly service. I hope to return very soon.

Lunch here is an oasis of sane eating when you're feeling barraged by too many hoagie, hot dog and hamburger options on Bethlehem's SouthSide! I love the vegetarian platter (tabbouleh, hummus, fatoosh). Add some appetizers of arnabit and lebna, and top it off with arabic coffee, and I'm happy happy happy. Sam the owner is a retired Bethlehem steelworker and nice guy, very attentive. He and his wife serve up all the food. I think his wife is the baker of the gorgeous original desserts (including wedding cakes) the only one I've sampled is baklava, very good. Sometimes the chicken in my shawarma is a little too salty, sometimes the falafel is a little too dry, but the positives of dining here outweigh the occasional complaints. My dining partners really enjoyed their lamb sandwiches. The dinner menu is mouth-watering and you can bring a bottle.

I journeyed there yesterday afternoon in search of baklava. Apparently at that monent the restaurant was closed for a wedding/bridal reception but appeared open from the outside. I went in, and the woman behind the counter explained they technically weren't open yet. She was nice enough to sell me baklava and a piece of peanut butter pie. The baklava was dense overall, and each layer of dough was still light and fluffy even though it had been soaking in that syrupy goodness all morning. The peanut butter pie was more peanut butter than chocolate, which normally would have been a major no-no. This exceeded my expectations (well, the few bites I was able to steal at least). It had the consistency of peanut butter mixed with whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious. Mmmm.....delicious. I will definitely go back again, only this time when they're actually open to try the rest of what they have to offer.

This place is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing, and to my surprise, the deserts were even better!!! Great experience, very cozy atmosphere!

I've never had better hummus in my life. I also love the arnabit, chicken kabob, and the side of rice that comes with entrees! Lunch is great too. They downsize a lot of the entrees and make them into sandwiches, which are only $5-6. The chocolate raspberry cake is my favorite dessert.

I was a little leery about the location on the south side of Bethlehem but it was not that bad. The walk to the restaurant from the south side seemed just fine at 19:30. The owner/server was awesome. He is Lebanese and Syrian and a very nice man. The food was really good and authentic middle eastern. We will definitely go back, it is worth the trip to the south side for the hospitality and good eats!

The food here was really good. I had a lamb kebob that was perfectly cooked and juicy. I wasn't crazy about the atmosphere or decor.
