Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I love Martelluci's pizza! Definitely one of my favorites in the valley! I have been going here for years and have always had great food. You can eat in or take out.... I prefer take out just because it gets quite crowded. You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. I go to is a pizza and a large antipasto. Yum!

I'm not a regular here as I've only had two experiences with their food, but each was sort of noteworthy so here goes. The first time, friends of ours who swear by this place insisted that we order take out from here as they do at least once a week and overall I could see why. We got various sandwiches along with a pepperoni & onion pizza and overall everything was really great. It was a weeknight and the person who made the call was told 30-35 minutes but in reality everything wasn't ready until closer to 45-50 minutes which he said is actually par for the course here. The next time maybe a month later on a Friday night I made the call and was told 45 minutes except this time the food took closer to an hour until it was ready. It's also worth noting that if you come here to pick food up and if it's not ready there really is no good place to hang out as you're right by the register/pizza making area, it's hot as hell along with being a very high traffic area. Again the food was perfectly fine but the wait was ridiculous as the time given bore no resemblance to the actual time it took for the food to be ready. I mean for me, we live on the other side of town from this place and there are a literal ton of similar places between here and there all peddling the exact same stuff. Would I go out of my way for their stuff? Maybe if they delivered but since they don't I can't see myself ordering from here often as while the food is good it's a heck of a wait until it's ready.

First off this place was highly reccomended by locals. Unfortunately my pie was awful. I ordered a large with extra cheeese and tomatoe. She told me 30 minutes for pick up with was good. However, when I arrived in 30 minutes she said it would be about 15 minutes still. I also ordered a small antipasto salad which was good. Now the pie, it wad undercooked all the cheese came of the pie when I took a slice abd overall was lacking flavor. Maybe just a bad day there.. many other choices in the area I will try on my next visit.

There's really nothing standout about this pizza. I typically like thin crust, but it was gummy instead of crisp. The edges were crisp but very oily tasting. It smelled like oil. I don't know how they make their pizza but it leaves a film in my mouth. Would I order it again? No way. Would I eat it if it was at a friend's house? Probably only if I was really, realllly hungry. Not worth it.

Been back a few times now and recently tried the thin crust Sicilian pie. We had a simple version, just pepperoni. The darn thing disappeared in 10 minutes. Delicious! Also recently tried some pasta and was disappointed. Will try again but the pizza is so darn good, probably no reason to do anything else. First time in for pizza and was pleasantly surprised. Different than many. Crispy crust that is not thick and not too thin. Tangy sweet sauce, good with both the Hawaiian and pepperoni pizzas we ate. They offered us two liter bottle of soda, nice way to save a little money.

Was looking for some pizza and this place was the highest rated in the area. Ordered some fried mozzarella, garlic bread and a pepperoni pizza. The garlic bread was good, the mozzarella sticks were ok and the sauce that came with both was pretty bland. My grandmother used to make sauce like that so I'm thinking it might be more traditional Italian, but it mostly just tastes like tomato sauce. The pizza was pretty good and I definitely enjoyed it. The service was also fast and outstanding. The ladies working the floor were constantly moving. It's easy to miss so keep your eyes open if you're not familiar with the area and check this place out.

Best pizza ever west of Queens/Brooklyn. I could swear this place had to originate from NY it's so good, and even better than my ole stomping ground on the upper east side. Order the thin Sicilian, amazing!!!

If you don't like this place, you're a weirdo. This pizza is a standout among some of the more cookie-cutter establishments. We never have leftovers because I'm too busy demolishing the remainder of the pie. We tried the meatball topping recently and I've been obsessing over it. Very good.

I had a small surprise birthday celebration for my Wife at Martellucci. They made the party an amazing success with the awesome food and service. Some of my friends asked if the boss was a personal friend of mine. They were dumbfounded by the service and the server's unique hospitality. They truly made my family feel at home. They were very responsive to our every need. I've paid for higher end catering and did not get nearly half of what Martellucci's offered me. I just have to say AMAZING! Try it for yourself. You won't regret it. Special thanks to the Martellucci staff Paul, Grace and Kevin. Thank you for making my wife's day truly special.

Decided to get a take-out pizza from what I recall was a great place many years ago. The sauce was great, but the pizza was raw in the middle. Nothing but dough. If I lived closer, I would have returned it for a refund. I would not recommend this place. How can a place that makes pizza for a living let me take home a pizza that has raw dough in the middle. Won't be back. Very disappointed.

Damn this is some good pizza. My wife's family has been eating here literally for her entire life. Like, almost every Friday. We had to call ahead an hour to pick up and I was skeptical. But let me tell you something...this is some damn...good...pizza. Thin crust, but not crispy (I hate crispy!!!) And fluffy crust...tasty crust...good crust!!! Seriously, overall great pizza.

Our favorite pizza joint in the Lehigh Valley! We love to get takeout from here. Haven't had anything other than their pizzas but they are very tasty. Nice chewy crust and just the right amount of sauce. Way better then those terrible chain pizza places in the area. We'll be back!!

There is nothing good about this pizza. There isn't a whole that's bad about it, either. It's all around pretty bland and not worth eating twice. Putting the pepperoni under the cheese is neat. That's my one plus. The sauce was boring. The crust was flimsy, a pizza needs a little crunch. The vegetable pizza was terrible. I'm not sure if any of the veggies on my pizza were cooked. The were hard, and once again, flavorless. How do you do that? Veggies have flavor. Tomato sauce has flavor. How can you make such a bland pizza? Look. I grew up in California. I know bad pizza. I grew up on bad pizza, but I will never go back to eat this pizza. Not because it was awful, but because what's the point?
(2)Cheryl H.
Ordered regular meat stromboli. Unfortunately, it was short on the meat and way heavy on the onion and cheese. Now, I will never complain about cheese, but it was more of a mozz & onion stromboli than anything else. Plus, it was pricey.

I've been going to Martellucci's for years, and I think I've only ever tried two items off the menu- pizza and cheesesteak. In my opinion the only way to go is to order the white pizza with garlic. The cheesesteak is great as well, but you really can't get past that pie.

To preface, I really wanted to like the Sicilian pizza at Martellucci Pizza, especially given all the 5 star reviews. I'm new to the Lehigh Valley, and haven't yet found a decent pizza. Unfortunately Martellucci's is not an exception. My review is limited to the thin crust Sicilian pizza, which I tried on 3 separate occasions (2 take-out; 1 eat-in). Reviewers say: "Delicious pizza!", "... real star ...", "... perfect." , " ... just awesome." , " ... magical." I say: You must be joking. Try this little test: can you hold the pizza slice horizontal by its crust? Absolutely not. It flops down and tears like damp cardboard, and the meager toppings tumble right off. There is no real flavor to either the crust or ingredients. And how insulting that they used frozen vegetables as topping on a vegetarian pizza. This contributes, I believe, to the dampness, glueyness of the crust. The pizza chef seems like a nice enough guy, but clearly he doesn't know good pizza either since he continues to make a really sub-par pizza. 3 strikes -- you're out. I shall never return here. Reviewers, should some of you ever try pizza in practically any average pizza parlor in New York City (or many other cities), you've got a real treat coming. Until then, my sympathies that Martellucci Pizza earns your 5 star reviews.

I think I may be bias but I grew up two blocks away and grew up on their pizza. The pizza is different from all other pizza and is very rich in flavor. Very Authentic! it is a small place just blocks away from Liberty HS and on football fridays gets very very crowded. get there early or be prepared to wait.

There are two points that I feel work very well in this venue's favor. The first, and biggest, is the pizza. This is quite possibly some of the best pizza I have ever had. It's very full of flavor and just the right size. The second point in their favor that I experienced was the atmosphere. While it feels very much like it hasn't been updated since the 1970's, it's very cozy. It definitely feels like a good family spot. The one downside, however, was the service. It felt like it was a bit on the slow side. It wasn't bad enough to really matter, though. Any complaint I can have is completely negated by the fact that their pizza is the cat's pajamas
(5)Phil M.
One of the top 5 pizza places in the Lehigh Valley I dare say. The thin crust blends very well with that amazing cheese and sauce. Never tried much else here besides the pizza and wings, so this review is based on the pizza pretty much. This guy knows how to make pizza.
(5)Samantha M.
Waited almost 5 mins to be seated, which normally I wouldn't mind except we waited so long because the waitress was texting & playing on her cellphone!! Then when she finally sat us, she cleaned a bunch of table around us and did all this bullshit without asking for even our drinks!! Luckily after saying something, the other girl waited on us and she was excellent!! Food was delicious, will definitely try the pizza next time!
(4)Bart T.
Decent food but the wait times are unacceptable. 30 mins or longer for a cold sub boggles my mind.. 45 mins for a steak sandwich when there might be 5 customers in the restaurant, no clue what goes on in that kitchen
(2)Jennie A.
Their plain cheese is the best pizza in the valley! Crust is not too thick, not too thin and perfectly crispy. Perfect amount of cheese and not too much sauce, just enough. Their cheesesteak sub isn't bad either.
(5)Glenn T.
Martellucci's can't you get anything right? I decided to try them again and ordered an antipasto. I figure how could they screw up putting meats and cheeses on a plate? Well, they did. I received a plate of shredded meat, cheese, lettuce and other unidentifiable food all heaped in one big mass on the plate. It was very difficult to eat. Plus, the service is poor at best. There is one server who is on top of things, though-Christina-and she is quite good. The other server is a waste of space. I honestly don;t know how this place stays in business.
(1)Michelle S.
Update to my previous post. My whole family got sick after our last visit. I'm talking stomach flu type sick. So not only was it not worth the wait... We would have been better off not going at all. And we won't be back.

What happened??? This place used to be so good. It was great all summer long, then the awesome waitresses left. The new girls have big shoes to fill and just aren't cutting it. My takeout order has been one item short the last 3 times. Not sure if the kitchen staff changed as well. Instead of perfectly cooked pizza, the pizza is always undercooked now - even though I specifically say "well done". We thought we found the best pizza place in the valley. It was for awhile, but no longer. Also, when u order takeout, order way ahead. Sometimes it takes 50+ minutes. And parking stinks.
(2)Luckii D.
The pizza is made with a real thin crust and it's slightly burnt or darker crust than other places. I had my pizza redone with a lighter crust and I liked that, but wished the dough on the base was not as thin and soggy. The owner and workers there are nice.
(3)Kris G.
Delicious pizza!! My husband and I came here for lunch. We ordered a large cheese pizza. The pizza has a great crisp to the bottom and a nice spongy texture. I wouldn't call the crust chewy, it tastes fresh. The sauce isn't too sweet and the cheese has a nice blended flavor. The restaurant is small and busy for lunch. There is one server for the whole restaurant and she works her butt off. Great service! It is BYOB.
(5)Jennifer P.
I think it's the best pizza on the North Side. I love the way the pepperoni is UNDER the cheese. Brilliant! lol, whatever, little things amuse me. I remember the first time i ordered the pepperoni pizza i almost caught an attitude b/c i SAAAAID, pepperoni. My BF quickly shut me up. Well I love going there. The only downside is the weird hours. It must have been 3 times that we tried going and they were either closed for vacation, or have later evening hours.
(3)Michael B.
The best pizza and the best food you have to stop and check out Martellucci pizza you will not regret stopping here
(5)Abby F.
Great pizza!!! I've never been disappointed at this place, and go back quite often- they know what they're doing!!!

From reading the reviews I was excited to eat here and knew that on a Friday night we should call and make reservations. So we called and were told that they had a table available right away. We told them we'd be there in 15 minutes and when we arrived (in 14 minutes) the place was packed, there were already 2 parties waiting for tables and they didn't save us a table. We mentioned we had reservations and they didn't bother to apologize or acknowledge us in any way and from the way the staff barked at each other it was obvious that we were going to wait for who knows how long. After waiting for another 10 minutes we left. No loss. I would give zero stars if possible. The parking lot is TINY and hard to access. The atmosphere is cozy, the seating areas are extremely cramped. There is one small bathroom, the entrance is crowded by seated customers.

I cannot get enough of their pasta soup. It has various types of pasta in a light tomato-basil broth. With crackers and a salad, it makes the perfect lunch.

This is the place for one of the best pizzas in Bethlehem - or even the whole Lehigh Valley. Love the owners and wait staff. On Friday-Saturday nights of high school football season, avoid this place (unless you're in high school, then it's the place to be.) The thin crust Sicilian is perfect. I don't know how to describe it but the crust has a taste and texture that's different from the other pizzerias in the area. If you feel a cold coming on, you must have the chicken and rice soup that is homemade by mama in the kitchen, it's the best. Nothing fancy, just GREAT food. p.s. - eat your pizza in the restaurant if you can. the pizza (especially the thin crust) doesn't always travel well and can get soggy in its box on the way home.
(5)Paul O.
Simply put the only place to get pizza in Bethlehem. Argue if you will, but the true thin crust, plus the crusty owner Paul makes for a great meal whether you eat in or take out. It is a small place, but it is pizza stop whining. Pepperoni is placed under the cheese, while somewhat against the rules, but a nice change of pace.

Nice local joint. My husband and I popped in here for our first night in our new neighborhood after our whole block lost power. The waitress was super friendly and made us feel right at home. We both got cheesesteak hoagies. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely tasty. Our fries where nice and fresh - the perfect combo of crunchy and mushy. It is a casual restaurant for eat in or take out only. They take reservations which are highly recommended by the waitstaff on Fridays. A good find! UPDATE: We have ordered Pizza from here several times and it's just awesome. My parents request it any time they come over. They also make their own sodas which have all been yummy. People that work here are lovely. Just a great place.
(5)Tom B.
This pizza is original and THIN CRUST....but NOT crispy. Worth a try. The pasta is agreeable and some I've gone with truly love it. The real star here is indeed the pizza. Worth the try.....you won't be disappointed.
(5)Jimmy O.
Small, cheap place with great food and friendly service. You gotta go with a large thin crust Sicilian, skip the toppings -- it's magical.
