I have to agree that this is THE brunch spot. If I lived in Bethlehem, this would be a tradition for me. The interior is bright, colorful and friendly... the smells wafting about are tummy grumbling. He he. We both started with the sweet potato soup, which we enjoyed. As it cooled, the flavor became more pronounced and rich. I got a grilled salmon salad, and my sweetie got the Baby Bella pannini. I liked his pannini a LOT. It was full of flavor and the perfect texture. The crust was nice and flaky & buttery. My salmon was a small slice of delicious, on a fresh salad. I would've liked a little more dressing on it, as the salmon didn't quite stretch through the whole salad, and it got a bit boring chomping on greens towards the end. But it was nice & healthy and cooked perfectly. The coffee was good. The service was to be expected with all the tables full and only two servers. We actually didn't mind this, as we were chatting away along with all the other patrons here. We actually got dessert afterwards.... neither of our meals were huge, so there was room. We shared a jumble berry pie, and it was SO GOOD! It was a big ole' slice, too! Mmmm.... Don't get all bothered if it takes a while to get your food. It'll be worth it. And you'll be happier if you don't stress the small stuff. Bon appetit!

Had brunch there on a Sunday. It felt like I was eating in a family members house. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The food was creative and delicious. The portions aren't huge but enough to fill you up. You must try the Duffins! Baked goods ate delicious. If your in the area you have to stop in.
(5)Casey G.
the food was very good.... the decor needs updating... the wait for the food was about 45 minutes which was disappointing. the baked goods were amazing!
(3)John S.
Best breakfast spot in town. Quiet, healthy, amazingly delicious food, and always friendly service. I've never had to wait for a table. The food takes a little longer to come out than the average restaurant, but it's better food than the average restaurant, so I consider it worth the wait.

I am torn between three and four stars. Four stars for the food. Fairly well done considering the abundance of items you can select from. You normally don't see a place that can handle this many items and do them well. It is a nice atmosphere and wasn't loud even with tables placed somewhat close together. Now the service, I would say that the waiter wasn't the owner and that the woman who came by to clean off a table for us to sit, refill drinks, check on the food, etc. must have been the owner. The waiter didn't seem to care too much. The place must have had issues with the A/C today. Things like this happen. It was a tad stuffy in there. I'm sure it is different other days. I personally would have liked to sit outside but there were storms in the forecast. The one thng I would have liked was to have known that there was hot sauces to choose from and also jellies/jams. I didn't see this until I was leaving to pay. And unfortunately the waiter never said a word about them even after being told this was our first time. Maybe again some time, maybe not. There are so many other places to try out there.

My wife and I had breakfast at Jumbars today. It was the best breakfast we have had since moving to the Lehigh Valley two years ago. This hidden gem is open for breakfast and lunch and two minutes into our meal we both said,"We are definitely coming back here." The service was excellent, as was everything we tasted. We can't wait to come back for lunch, though breakfast was so good, I'm not sure when we will get to lunch there! It is a small place so please do not eat there, as we don't want a longer wait for a table when we return!
(5)J J.
Amazing breakfast and brunch food. Sometimes long lines, but well worth the wait. The frittata is the best I've ever had. This place has become a family favorite and we bring out of town guests here.
(5)Nick U.
Love this place. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are all extremely friendly! I've gotten the Quiche Lorraine twice and it's been fantastic both times. They also have some great jams & jellies available for your toast. I'll be back for sure.

We were one of the first regulars at Jumbars many many years ago when they first opened. They have remained a consistently good breakfast spot in Bethlehem. It is by far a nice change from all the local greasy diners. There is nothing greasy about Jumbars, just quality homemade breakfast with fresh local ingredients. It's nice to see the whole family working there these days. Since I no longer live in the area it's been awhile since I've been in to Jumbars. I'm not a big fan of the new layout, there's less tables and they lost my two favorite spots by the window. However, the quality of the food remains the same. My favorite breakfast dish is the New England omlet, with cheddar, Granny Smith apples and housemate sausage. They have amazing triple berry muffins and sticky buns also! Lunch time their salads and soups are unique and delicious.

Honestly a bit underwhelmed. Saw all the great reviews here on Yelp and went in with pretty high expectations. Only did take-out and for such a small place with as many customers as they had, they were pretty quick. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on white English muffin. They say their English muffins are homemade and it tasted like it. The sandwich itself was good but nothing special. I also had a sticky bun and a berry muffin, both of which I was disappointed in. I was thinking it would be like a cinnamon roll, which might be my fault in terms of wrong expectations. The bun had a sticky, glaze on top, and raisins inside. Most of the sweetness seemed to come from the raisins, which I wish there were more of, as I definitely was looking for something sweeter. The berry muffin was okay, but in addition to blueberries, there were others that I didn't recognize the taste of and didn't really care for. Since I'm not too familiar with berries beyond the mainstream varieties (straw, blue, black and rasp.), I probably should have asked what was in it before I got it. Overall, definitely went in hoping for something more. I definitely see how a lot of people could love this place, as it's certainly a far cry from a standard quick, breakfast place. Definitely looks like plenty of unique options that people loved, and I might if I go there again. Hopefully I'll get something more to my expectations and will really enjoy this quaint little cafe.

Out for a walk and found this small but great restaurant. The food was prepared wonderfully and served in a timely manner even though the place was packed. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Shortly after my walk there I had to go back with my wife for breakfast.
(4)Samantha B.
The food was good, but those who came in after us got food way before us and an hour for an omelette and a piece of quiche is a little much. I understand that a wait is necessary, but this seemed a little more than was really needed. The prices were reasonable. Pretty cool that jams and condiments are offered freely at a table where you serve yourself. It's pretty cramped, but it's cozy, I didn't feel too squished and the use of Fiestaware for everything was very cute and appreciated. Overall, a nice quirky local place for breakfast (and decent looking lunch) before an event in town.
(3)Natalya S.
Delicious fresh food! Some of the best homemade English muffins you'll ever eat! The Spanish omelet is divine, scones are handmade, fresh fruit salad is amazing! Blackberries, strawberries, pears, apples, pineapple, grapes all hand cut. Nice tea selection. Portions aren't too big that you'll want to take a nap or not be able to move afterward but big enough that you'll be satisfied. Very small and street parking only. Kind of smelled like fried breakfast when I left but I will be back!
(4)John G.
New Fave breakfast place. Absolutely love the food and organic coffee. We visit every Sunday without fail.

We were very pleased to find Jumbars within a short drive from our hotel. Vegan brunch can be a bit tough to come by so when we say they had a tofu scramble, we got our asses moving to get a couple seats. Jumbars is a quirky place. The place feels like you're in someone's living room. The space between tables is tight (still walkable) and the mugs they give you for coffee are all different kinds. It's nice that a place has personality, especially when it comes to breakfast. They have a large chalkboard on the wall listing the specials and the staff couldn't be sweeter. We ordered the tofu scramble, vegan chili and the quiche of the day. I opted for the quiche because it had apple and a housemade sage sausage. The quiche was really quite good and the cheese added in the richness of the dish. The vegan chili was also tasty. It was a hearty little cup and they served it with some tortilla chips for sopping up the sauce. I wasn't wowed by the tofu scramble but I did appreciate that they had it and my girlfriend was able to find a vegan breakfast option. The potatoes that came with it however were top notch. We didn't have a long wait, about 15 minutes. We must have arrived just at the right time because after we sat, there was quite a wait forming. Since this is outside of the walkable downtown area, it seems like this is a locals spot and they all showed up at the same time wanting their brunch. Still, this is a good little place and definitely worth a shot. P.S. Solid coffee too which is surprising. Most breakfast places don't put much effort into it. At Jumbars, they are proud of the coffee they serve and it shows.
(4)Aaron P.
Food was good but nothing to write home about, staff was friendly. The big downfall is the wait time, took about 35min to receive our food once ordered and it was not even that busy!! Might try again might not all depends if I'm in the area
(2)Max K.
Jumbars food was very tasty and was at a very fair price point, though the service did seem to lack a little bit. I watched three other couples who were sat and ordered after us receive their food. It took almost 45 minutes to receive our breakfast, which consisted of pancakes and French toast. We were not checked on once during our wait. Luckily the food was good or else this could have been an ugly review.
(3)Keith S.
Fresh baked goods daily woth the most delicious sticky buns I've enjoyed since I grew up in Lancaster! Outstanding breakfast paired with a delightful selection of homemade jams.
(5)Steve B.
Good food but waited over 45 minutes for our meal. The waitress, although attentive never said anything about them being slow or offering any explanation. The only thing she offered was coffee. Wasn't happy having to wait that kind of time for my meal without an explanation. No plan to returning or recommending.
(2)Seth D.
While there are a few breakfast joints in Bethlehem, Jumbars is one of the better places to visit. If you're looking for non-traditional breakfast fare (i.e. eggs/bacon/pancakes), this places has delicious options. I tried the cheddar bacon scone and the New England omelette, both of which were terrific. If you don't mind waiting, as this place is fairly small, it's worth the wait. It is pretty tight with seating, so groups of 4 or more may have some issues. The details in Jumbars, from the food to matching colorful dinner ware to the artwork, create an inviting place to start your day off right.
(4)Hady Y.
I'm giving three stars because food was good but very salty. The staff was very unprofessional they need to step up their game, it's like walking on egg shells, the cashier was a lot more better than the servers. All in all I would go there again.. But the food did take a very long time to get to our table. I would go back for breakfast not lunch.
(3)Catherine G.
STRONG coffee. Hurray! Try the savory strata. I've never had something so delicious. I found the duffin underwhelming.
(4)Lisa D.
If you are willing to pay $40 for breakfast and wait an hour for it, the food here is delicious and totally worth it. Loved the breakfast strata. The selection of baked goods is amazing. I'll be back for coffee and dessert.
(5)Cat P.
I was not expecting to find a place in Bethlehem that had a tofu scramble on its menu, so that automatically earned this spot some points. In all seriousness, though, I thought it was very tasty and I was impressed with their selection of homemade jams (pea jam...who knew this even existed?!). Jumbars had a homey, charming feel to it that was hard not to love. The service was quick even though it was decently busy that morning. We really don't go to Bethlehem often, but I would totally hit this place up again if we ever come back up that way!
(4)Scott M.
Excellent fresh food, with some organic and all natural options. It's freshly made here so it may take a little longer to come out and I'm ok with it!
(5)Tom W.
Awesome place - all homemade tasting food - great food and atmosphere - the duffin was incredible as was the homemade jelly and toast.
(5)Scott H.
What a great breakfast and lunch place. What sets Jumbars apart is killer ingredients all freshly prepared. This is one of the few places where you eat all the toast and all the potatoes. This morning, we had the spanish omelet and simple breakfast sandwich. Service is friendly but not rushed. The place was full but we did not experience the "Jumbars delay". Their menu is not as creative as some, and it's not cheap by any means, but the quality of the food is unmatched.
(5)Vivian Y.
Had a late breakfast here the other day and as always it was absolutely delicious. All of the baked goods are baked on the premises and you can definitely tell the difference. Their muffins are warm and moist. They also make their own jam. I've been here several times and always order the quiche, every kind I've tried has been amazing. My friends ordered a sticky bun and couldn't stop talking about it all day! The service isn't very fast so if you make sure you plan on being there for awhile.
(4)David T.
Really enjoyed the service and ambience, not to mention the delicious food. Even the presentation of the food was well done. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a more unique experience in a totally different class than your standard diner.
(5)Brittany S.
great atmosphere and just as great food! you have to try a duffin, a doughnut baked in a muffin pan. Need I say more!
(4)Rhino V.
My 1st time here. I'm giving it 3.5 stars, only cause I think its a bit over priced, for the amount of food served. Service was very good. I had a cup of soup, that was probably the smallest cup of soup I've ever had. And a sammich, also small. Food was good, just wish there was more of it.

At home, I'm pretty serious about eating sustainable, organic, and in season food. I cook everything or we go out to eat at one of the many options in Seattle that offer organic, sustainable food. I live in Seattle now but I'm from the Lehigh Valley - whenever I visit my parents in the LV, I'm always frustrated at the lack of options here. My mom has told me about this place several times, but I just finally got a chance to check it out today. First, I was shocked to find out they've been around for 9 years and I just now tried it out. Did I like it? Well, I went three times in one week! Also finding good coffee in the Valley sorely lacking, I LOVED the coffee here. I contemplated stopping in a few extra times to see if they'd give me a to-go cup. The food was all good, particularly during brunch. I've been there during brunch when I snagged the ONLY table available and during a slower time. I had no problems with service during any of those times. I truly appreciate what they're doing - the Valley DESPERATELY NEEDS more places that care about & use organic, in season, sustainable ingredients. It is a bit cramped, true - but honestly, if you go to any big city, these types of places are easily found and the style is to be all quaint, small, and cramped. (Good god, try Dottie's True Blue in San Francisco? Or Sabrina's or Sam's Morning Glory in Philadelphia? Or any number of places here in Seattle. SMALL, CRAMPED. It's just the way it is.) I was pleased to see that they always had a pretty good turn out. This is my new go-to place when I'm in town. Ah - the one food item that stands out: My husband has been craving a good Reuben sandwich, since they just don't do it right on the West Coast. He got one at Jumbar's and it totally hit the spot.
(5)Hannah S.
Went in to grab lunch with my mom the other day, because Jumbar's comes highly recommended by everyone you talk to! It's a tiny little restaurant, but it works. There are little cafe tables and beautiful art on the walls. They sat us right away, and it took us longer to order than it did for the food to arrive. We split a cheddar-bacon scone, and then my mom had the Mary's salad (which she loved) and I had the Greenwich Street Special. Everything was great. The only negative thing I would say is that the condiments are self-serve in the back of the restaurant, and I had to squeeze in between the counter & a gentleman who was eating his lunch at a table a foot away. And then when someone else came, we were bumping into each other. That was a little awkward, but I can deal with that to get the great food!
(4)J M.
Small, cramped tables. A waitress that tried to memorize the order and forgot the sides as well as the blueberries that belong in blueberry pancakes. Another server that seemed put out when asked for more coffee. Heard nice things about the place but was extremely disappointed. The servings were small and the the food nothing special. Better places to go in Bethlehem for sure.
(2)Alyssa P.
Jumbars is a great spot for a satisfying breakfast or lunch. They boast homemade breads, muffins and pastries as well as jams and sausage. The duffin -- a muffin and a doughnut -- is a yummy appetizer with some Nutella. The food takes a while to come out, so ordering a muffin to start is a good way to hold over. My favorite breakfast is the New England omelette but my friends love the pancakes. The lunch panini is also fresh and filling.
(4)Jesse M.
Fun, cute, colorful, unique...just to sum up Jumbars breakfast. Nothing typical here, and they do everything (so far) pretty well. Been here 3 times and have had a homerun experience 3 outa 3 times with fun specials each time like pumpkin pancakes, savory strata with sausage gravy(mushroom available as well if you prefer), awesome tofu breakfast statute, great quiche choices, and you gotta love the duffin. Fun fiesta wear colorful plates, mugs, etc. The service is always pleasant and they keep the very good coffee coming. Unique jam and hot sauce choices as well as a good homemade baked goods selection to take on the road. It's very tight seating but its got a fun lively feel that you want for breakfast. The atmosphere brings that lively city feel but never too loud for conversation. It's a guaranteed great breakfast stop and one of the best we've found in the Leigh Valley.
(5)Alicia S.
Amazing pastries, great service, delicious food. No need to go into anymore detail. Eat here you will not regret it.
(5)Amanda Y.
I love Jumbars. Their food is always delicious and made to order. Yes, it takes a little longer to get that way, but didn't you need an excuse to order the Duffin with Nutella anyway? Love sipping coffee and hearing the whisking coming from the kitchen at time we were there I had the savory strata and sampled their AMAZING blueberry jam. Also took a bag of pastries to the in-laws and they were a big hit. Will continue to go again and again.
(5)Christopher T.
The pancakes! Nuff said! The food is so good it's seriously funny! You definitely cannot go wrong with the pancakes.
(5)Kristian C.
Last I checked there were no vegan options. Vegetarians should be ok, but I suggest that vegans go elsewhere. Horns, perhaps. Aside from this, the place is very charming, and the service is not nearly as horrible as everyone seems to claim it is.
(2)Kaitlyn R.
Okay. First off I am the number one supporter of sustainable organic and I really wanted to love this place; however, there was nothing absolutely fabulous about Jumbars. Granted I did just have an omelette so maybe the sweeter entrees were to die for. Nevertheless this place was sub par and the service made it a two star rating for me. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and did not provide good customer service. If you want to get a seat without the wait, I definitely recommend calling ahead 15 minutes before to get a table. While they don't take reservations, they will call you and let you know when a table is available which is pretty awesome, especially for the claustrophobic type because the waiting area is really tight. It's especially useful on Sundays because any breakfast place in town worth going to is going to be packed. Lastly, in my opinion, if you want a great breakfast place in Bethlehem, go for Blue Sky Cafe or Horns (Horns serves breakfast Saturday mornings only): both have the sights of downtown, sustainable and relatively healthy options, and awesome, friendly service.
(2)Zack M.
One of the elite for brunch in the Valley. Amazing and unique food and incredible baked goods. Friendly and sociable service every time.
(4)Candi K.
Drug my husband here thanks to a recent Groupon offer...the Saturday before Valentine's Day, and it was packed! They were offering a V Day special (two starters - think muffin or granola, two mains, two non alcoholic drinks) for $15pp...and they'd throw in a free mimosa (gotta love state liquor laws!) Despite it being packed, I think they earned that 5th star. We both forwent the special...I went with the hot ham & cheese (with pineapple on challah...woah, baby, good!) that came with a few slivers of potato (really, just slivers, but that's okay). My husband ordered a grilled muffin (a bit corny for me, but he thought it was the best thing ever) and a slice of quiche. Add a soda & a slice of coffee cake to go, and we were right at $20 before tip. Homemade with a small kitchen, so expect to wait a bit. I don't mind when it means I get good food!
(5)Rex W.
Carmen and I have been a fan for years and they NEVER disappoint. Traditionally we've been in early for breakfast, but did Saturday lunch and it was wonderful!! One of the few places that we confidently recommend to friends and always get great feedback and a sincere thanks for the recommendation. Paul, Emily and Pinky and all the staff, thank you for all the great time and all the great times to come.
(5)Edouard M.
Mostly usual breakfast fare. The spanish (mexican?) omelet was good, but not particularly remarkable. The pumpkin pancakes were tasty (nice tiny scraps of pumpkin inside), and the coffee was dark and hot (whence the 4 stars instead of a mere 3 stars). The portions are smaller than in many dinners, which imo is a plus. Service could be substantially better. One waiter was a bit careless, bumping into my chair (not much space between the tables) and spraying coffee around the mugs while serving. The staff seems overwhelmed. We went there a saturday. not too crowded.
(4)Kevin F.
Home made. Original. Delicious. My only issue is that this place isn't in MY town. Try to go at the height of growing season when they have the most options for fresh, local ingredients.
(4)Trevor P.
We love brunch. LOVE brunch. When we moved to Bethlehem, we were pretty serious about finding the place that was going to be "ours." Jumbar's is it. For my money, the only two other places in the same class are Billy's and Blue Sky. All three are crowded every weekend, and all three are similarly priced. Jumbar's wins hands down--atmosphere (though similar quality food) kills blue sky (fewer hung over Lehigh students, less greasy feel, plus Blue Sky recently raised prices and eliminated some things that used to be free), and a better regular menu without the folks waiting for a table hovering over your table edges out Billy's. Jumbar's has friendly service, a warm, homey atmosphere, a solid regular menu (though I wish specials rotated more often), and great baked goods/home made jam. The New England Omlette is particularly good. Definitely call ahead on the weekends--big time waits, but sometimes can sneak in with little to no wait if you are lucky. During the warmer months, some outside seating takes some of the pressure off the wait time.
(5)Joana S.
Went for the first time today. It's a cute cozy place. Can be a little crammed but it's not too bad. The staff was very nice. We ordered two omelets and they were very good. The only thing I will say tho is that it's a little pricey for the portions but I do know that they use quality ingredients. We will be back tho
(4)Roxy B.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. This is a must go-to restaurant. You will be taken care of and fed the most unique and obviously hand crafted food. It is satisfying just knowing this place exists, they truly care about their customers and value quality over quantity.
(5)Miguel S.
Excellent breakfast option unless you're in a hurry, but it's great if you don't need to rush and have time to relax and unwind. The service is excellent, and the kitchen is creative although not fast paced. It's a laid back atmosphere with excellent food. Love the toasted mixed berry muffin, very unique french toast & the breakfast sandwiches. Pretty expansive and interesting menu. And, wow, the baked goods up front once you finish... there's a good reason to be tempted by the pie.
(5)Cheryl D.
The food at Jumbars is totally worth 5 stars. Unfortunately the service doesn't quite make the 5-star rating. You definitely need to allow yourself at least an hour or more for breakfast on the weekends, and that's if you get there early. Like the menu suggests, start with a wonderful grilled muffin (I suggest the corn muffin with Jack cheese and a large dollop of homemade pepper jelly) and then take your time enjoying it. It will take quite a while for your breakfasts to arrive. But no worries, because it is the best breakfast in town. The house made sausage is extraordinary. The specials are always quite tasty and have never disappointed. Just make sure you ask if they have any additional specials not listed. They don't rush you (quite the contrary) though the throngs of waiting diners will most likely make you want to eventually vacate your table.
(4)Emily M.
Delicious and so cute. Outside seating. The asparagus soup was awesome today
(5)Rob S.
Corn muffin with jack cheese is great Homemade bread is fantastic Mimosas on 7 year anniversary. Also serve if you order a meal with muffin. 15 different hot sauces. Only thing that sucks is if you go on a busy day (Sunday) it will take 50 minutes before food is served.
(5)Blair Y.
While the menu is delicious, spiced up traditional breakfast fare, the atomsphere is really what sells Jumbar's as a wonderful restaurant. The exterior and interior of the building, and the entire layout has a sort of southern vibe. Odd, since it is located behind Roosevelt's 21 bar on Greenwich st. Tip: take home some freshly baked bread!
(4)Michael L.
Maybe I had an off day, but this place didn't do a thing for me. I had spinach quiche which was dry and probably the smallest slice of quiche or any pie like food I've ever had. Grilled cheese looked small as well. Service was average. Expensive to leave hungry.
(2)Kathryn R.
Dined outdoors this morning. Tried two eggs over easy with a side of bacon and rye toast. Yummy, perfect balance. Waitstaff engage easily in jovial conversations; are attentive to patrons. Again, husband had Greek omelette. We both shared my last piece of rye with their orange marmalade for our 'dessert' and were sweetly rewarded. Highly recommend this lovely place.
(5)Megan B.
Excellent omlette but very, very slow service, We waited 30 mins for a table (no problem it was Sunday morning) but another hour for our food to be served. The lack of an apology or even acknowledgement that serving a guest an hour after they order is a problem suggests it is a pretty standard thing. Everyone agreed their food was delicious, but good enough to wait 90 minutes? Meh.
(4)Katelyn M.
Great place in Bethlehem for brunch! Came here with a group of 4 on a Sunday morning and split an omelet and the french toast. Both were great. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere reminds me of a tea room or Bed and Breakfast. I wouldn't come here for a very quick breakfast, its better not to rush it. Although, if you're in a hurry I hear the berry muffins are delicious. I love that they promote local ingredients and support local farms. And the prices are totally reasonable for the quality of the food!
(4)Michael R.
If you have 2 hours available to sit around and wait for your breakfast, by all means give it a try, but i however do not. Before I go on, I will say that the food was not bad, it was average, but not bad. The service however was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. It took 45 minutes, just for water and coffee, not kidding, this is not an exaggeration. It had to be reminded several times before finally arriving. The food came out 1 hour and 50 minutes after it was ordered. At one point we even suggested we were just going to leave but they said it would be right out, which apparently meant in a half hour. They had one waitress doing all of the work, and two others standing around doing practically nothing. I cant blame her for being rude, as it was obviously from frustration, but with other options in bethlehem like Blue Sky or Billys Downtown Diner. I will never, even if someone gave me a gift certificate to this place, be coming back. How else can I prevent others from having the experience that me and my three friends went through that day, hmm, RUNNNNNNN!
(1)J. K.
Really great place. Hard to get a table on weekends so go early. I love that everything is homemade, including all the toast (cinnamon raisin!) and jams. I've tried most of the breakfast items, and haven't had any disappointments. Their southwest omelet is really good, love the grilled berry muffins, homemade sausage patties....French toast is made from homemade baguette. Delicious oatmeal too! Portion sizes are just right and you leave feeling good instead of stuffed to death and about to die of a grease heart attack. I go with my family all the time. I've yet to try the duffins which look yummy....next time!
(5)Jim D.
Now this is the epitome of a hidden gem in Bethlehem. I doubt that many folks who live in the Lehigh Valley, let alone Bethlehem, have even heard of it. I really don't know why I don't come here more often considering it's a mere five minute walk from me. The food and service has always been consistently great. It can get crowded here on the weekends for breakfast but there's usually no wait for a table. You don't even have to wait to be seated. Just come in and plop down. How easy is that? The inside is definitely a bit cramped but it most definitely has a warm feeling to it. Patrons seem to know each other so that automatically promotes a homey feeling. The kitchen is a tad slow when I was last there but that's probably because the place was really hopping. The food is really good here. Portions are average size. Sandwiches tend to run on the small side, but it's very good and made with quality ingredients. The chef does some creative things with his dishes, so definitely check out the daily specials. They also have a nice array of baked goods at the counter if you care to indulge your sweet tooth. Overall, a great place for great food. Check it out sometime.

I took my wife here on a Groupon special. Looked great from the ads and reviews but it was such a disappointment. The restaurant was only halfway full and the service was abominable considering what we paid to eat here. Fellow coworkers had told me how great this place was and how it lived up to the old Huckleberries cafe that used to be there. I really wanted to give this place a try and it was disappointing. The entire waiter situation here was utterly chaotic. There were two waiters who took orders and nobody every wrote anything down. I ordered the chilled cantaloupe soup from the specials and somehow I ended up with a bowl of chili. I asked for white bread and I got wheat on my sandwich. Drinks were never refilled and when the food did come the dishes were delivered haphazardly. It was also quite a wait for two sandwiches. We tried the meatloaf sandwich and a turkey sandwich. Both were fairly average. To be honest I've had a better turkey sandwich at Goosey Gander. We also sampled the english muffin and fresh rolls. I do have to say that the bakery items at Jumbars were to die for. The bread was really excellent. The wife really liked the coffee cake as well. However the chocolate raspberry cake that we ordered was mediocre. I've had better cake at the Hellertown Diner. Yes I do know that their food is "homemade" and is supposed to take a long time and it's supposed to be "quality" at the expense of speed and price. But other than the bread and coffee cake it was just..... average. I don't know where the reputation of this place comes from. I've eaten at plenty of places where the food lived up to the prices and this just wasn't it. Overall, the entire place felt pretentious and the prices matched that attitude. I wouldn't go back again! At least I had a Groupon to lessen the blow of the check. I would summarize the attitude of the snooty waitstaff as "we could care less about working here." The wife summed it up as "probably college students who are close to brain dead." I'll get off my soapbox now.

awesome brunch place.. very busy on the weekend... if you want a nice homey relaxing environment - than go here - but dont expect to be in and out in 25 minutes. We got there at about 12:30 and got our food prob at least 45 minutes later or maybe even an hour. I personally dont mind, meanwhile was sipping on some tea - but some people are always in a rush so... but the food is fantastic - has a spanish omelette and the homemade bread is awesome!

If you like being ignored and/or abused by wait staff, this place is for you. While the restaurant is colorful and inviting, and the baked goods on the counter look delicious, it is hard to justify a visit to be served by ill-trained and seemingly clueless waitresses who pass you by when you're waiting to be seated and then make you wait at the table before even giving you a menu. This is a place that I wanted to like in a town with very few nice lunch places, but unfortunately the owners know this and have done little to create a truly welcoming environment for all their customers.

Even though it's says closed at the top Jumbars is not closed. My wife and I went there on Wednesday for breakfast. I ordered the Spanish omlet and she had the tofu scramble. We both really enjoyed our breakfast and will definitely return. The staff was friendly and the bread was all homemade. It's hard to find a good breakfast place in the lehigh valley but now weave Jumbars.
(4)John G.
I love the food at Jumbars. Everything is fresh and yummy with a focus on local and seasonal. The only reason I don't give this place a full 5-stars is because they have packed too many tables into the small place. It loses its cozy feel and makes eating there almost uncomfortable with waitstaff bumping into you and neighbors able to join your conversation. Either find a larger place or take some tables out and I will gladly update my review to 5 stars. But I cannot say enough good things about their food.

Anticipation was high as all of the write ups were positive. Plus, the freshest of foods was in order based on the restaurants website. We were celebrating Mothers Day a day early and a birthday. We have an infant and a first grader, so we were hoping for a kid friendly environment. Unfortunately, we were let down from the first moment. They only had one high chair, and it was very old and in use. The dining area was very small; we were on top of each other. In the end, my wife and I agreed we've had better experiences for breakfast in the Lehigh Valley. It was worth the drive to check it out. After all we learned not to mess with what works for us, and that is located on the other side of Bethlehem.
(2)Paulette G.
Quite good food, but INCREDIBLY slow and unfriendly service. I probably wouldn't go back unless somone really wants me to.
(3)Rhonda S.
They should just put up a sign that says "We do not like people... go elsewhere". We called ahaed for a table for 3, on a Sunday morning. Nice feature to offer. When we arrived we there the 3rd of three parties that had called ahead. There was one bigger table vacant right in the front. We are all outside, beautiful morning, and no one is called. No one. Table sits empty. Finally we decide to go check, and someone actually comes out and calls a party. Hello? How long were we going to be standing out there? Throw us a cup of coffee or something. Lesson of the day? Don't ignore your customers or they WILL go way, like we did. We went to Bethlehem Brew Works, and were so glad we did!

Just had a delicious breakfast with horrendous service. It greatly undermined the quality of the food. Maybe if I return it will be with four or less, eight of us was apparently too much for them. I sure hope that was the reason, waiting 30 minutes for water, coffee, and juice and on top of that half the order was wrong. They did slightly better with the food, only forgetting a couple of items. i would like to give 2.5 stars five for the food i did get and zero for the lousy service!!
(2)Colleen C.
The food was definately good. It wasn't the best omelette I ever had, but I would go again. It was probably a mistake to go on a Sunday, but I had never been there before and was only in town for the weekend. Since it was a Sunday, we waited at least a half hour to be seated and another hour after that before we saw any food. The waitress was very nice, but we just didn't see her very much because it was so busy. Next time I'll try a week day.
(3)Ashley P.
Mediocre food at best with Poor service to top it off. My waffle tasted only of grease, the fruit I had was not very fresh... Disappointing all around. I'll stay home for better "homemade".
(2)Margo B.
This place is amazing. The food is so good. I've had breakfast and lunch here several times, and I keep coming back. I order pies from them for the holidays. My family loves them. Best spot in Bethlehem!
(5)Jeff S.
Cute atmosphere, good food, nice waitstaff....and if you have two hours for brunch (30 minute wait + 1 hour to cook eggs after placing order + 30 min to eat) you will have a great time.
(3)stephanie f.
I've only been here once, but I will definitely be going back. Jumbars is kind of tucked away, but word of mouth serves them well. I got take-out for work, so I wasn't able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, but the look of the place is really quaint. Each of us got something different and we were all enamored at the first bite. I had the Turkey and Apple Chutney Sandwich. Amazing! It was on toasted, homemade cinnamon raisin bread. Do I really have to go on?? It's hard to find a good, family-owned cafe these days and this one is top notch. Can't wait to go back.
(5)Vanessa W.
This is my absolute favorite lunch spot in the Lehigh Valley. It is a totally relaxed atmosphere, and feels more like an extension of your mother's kitchen than a restaurant, so if you're in a hurry, this place isn't for you. They make made to order sandwiches, salads and quiches which are always fresh and tasty. It's technically a coffeehouse/deli, but they offer better than average fare, like a hot ham and cheese sandwich with pinapple and peppers - delish! Make sure you save room for dessert, which are to die for. The decor is friendly and cheery with oilcloth tablecloths and everything is served on fiestaware. Just darling!
(5)Paulley S.
(5)Seth D.
(4)Hannah S.
(2)Michael L.
(4)Megan B.

(4)Derek M.

Food was good but nothing to write home about, staff was friendly. The big downfall is the wait time, took about 35min to receive our food once ordered and it was not even that busy!! Might try again might not all depends if I'm in the area

Fresh baked goods daily woth the most delicious sticky buns I've enjoyed since I grew up in Lancaster! Outstanding breakfast paired with a delightful selection of homemade jams.

Good food but waited over 45 minutes for our meal. The waitress, although attentive never said anything about them being slow or offering any explanation. The only thing she offered was coffee. Wasn't happy having to wait that kind of time for my meal without an explanation. No plan to returning or recommending.

If you are willing to pay $40 for breakfast and wait an hour for it, the food here is delicious and totally worth it. Loved the breakfast strata. The selection of baked goods is amazing. I'll be back for coffee and dessert.

Excellent fresh food, with some organic and all natural options. It's freshly made here so it may take a little longer to come out and I'm ok with it!

Awesome place - all homemade tasting food - great food and atmosphere - the duffin was incredible as was the homemade jelly and toast.

Really enjoyed the service and ambience, not to mention the delicious food. Even the presentation of the food was well done. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a more unique experience in a totally different class than your standard diner.

great atmosphere and just as great food! you have to try a duffin, a doughnut baked in a muffin pan. Need I say more!

Went for the first time today. It's a cute cozy place. Can be a little crammed but it's not too bad. The staff was very nice. We ordered two omelets and they were very good. The only thing I will say tho is that it's a little pricey for the portions but I do know that they use quality ingredients. We will be back tho

One of the elite for brunch in the Valley. Amazing and unique food and incredible baked goods. Friendly and sociable service every time.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. This is a must go-to restaurant. You will be taken care of and fed the most unique and obviously hand crafted food. It is satisfying just knowing this place exists, they truly care about their customers and value quality over quantity.

Home made. Original. Delicious. My only issue is that this place isn't in MY town. Try to go at the height of growing season when they have the most options for fresh, local ingredients.
(4)Casey G.
the food was very good.... the decor needs updating... the wait for the food was about 45 minutes which was disappointing. the baked goods were amazing!
(3)John S.
Best breakfast spot in town. Quiet, healthy, amazingly delicious food, and always friendly service. I've never had to wait for a table. The food takes a little longer to come out than the average restaurant, but it's better food than the average restaurant, so I consider it worth the wait.
