Decent hoagies. Had cheesesteak but I do not have anything to compare this to as I am new to PA & haven't been to Philly to try the real thing! (That is on my to do list, though!) Really good prices and very friendly staff here. I do not have a complaint. It is not fancy, there isn't anything fancy about this place at all but it is clean and the food is good. I'd prefer to takeout rather than eat in myself. But I have had lunch there. Only about four or five booths available. Pretty busy there, too! Seems to be a popular local lunch place. If you're nearby, give it a try.

Not a bad place to eat when you're in town. Fries aren't fresh cut but still boardwalk quality. Hoagies are sliced to order - for the most part - so don't expect flimsy meat or dried out cheese. Wouldn't mind stopping here when I'm in the mood for an eminent lunch served in a friendly atmosphere.

Was at Carls about 2weeks ago. Check out the filthy floors. Wow. Then observe the guy(with the ponytail) at the grill. He was picking up the burger patties( not using the paper between the burgers)with his bare hands and slapping them on the grill. One of the other employees said they needed mushrooms ,same fellow, dumped the mushrooms that were in a plastic container into his hand. He then squeezed the liquid through his fingers and put them on the grill. Everyone else, except 1 female employee, had gloves on. Disgusting place.

Since my initial review I've eaten here a few more times and overall things definitely get an A+ for consistency. The fries have been good, the cheese has been more prevalent while the roll is still the star of the show. The only two things that keep this place from being a five star review for me are that number one the parking around the place is atrocious and number two a lot of times they tell you 10 minutes only to take closer to 15-20 if they are busy and there really is nowhere to wait as the inside is normally very busy.

This place is the real deal! Best cheesesteak in the valley. Cheese fries are the best as well. Really should consider opening additional locations.

AMAZING curly fries and ketchup!!!!

I love their hamburger sub! Fries are always great and so are their steak sandwiches. Actually, I've never had anything from Carl's that wasn't great. I always get take out, and the rolls never get soggy.

My absolute favorite cheesesteaks in the Valley. Italian subs are great too. And you just can't beat the price!

Best Cheesesteaks in the Lehigh Valley.

Haven't had a decent cheesesteaks in years; I have been dreaming of having one since I booked my trip back east. So needless to say my hopes were very high for Carl's corner and they sure did deliver. The service was freindly and fast and for less than 5 dollars I had the best cheesesteak I had in years. Piled high with meat and topped with savory marinara sauce. The roll was just great and did not fall apart mid mouthful. Had I been able to eat a second I would have, that's how good it was!!! Next time I'm in town my first stop for a cheesesteak is carls- no one even comes close to comparing to his quality of sauce, meet and rolls!

My husband and I have been on a quest for a good cheesesteak in the Valley for three years now, and I think we finally have a winner. Carl's is a very nondescript corner joint very near to Moravian College. The cheesesteaks come in two sizes here large and giant. My kinda place. We ordered a giant cheesesteak hoagie (ie lettuce tomato and mayo) to split. Everything about it was just awesome and yummy. Not super greasy, large amount of meat, awesome bread. We got fries which were also very yummy. I highly recommend it!

This is the place to get a cheesesteak! Carl's Corner is a small deli-style eatery w/ only a handful of cramped booths, but the cheesesteaks make it ALL worthwhile. Lots o' meat (who DOESN'T like a lot of meat!) & cheese on a nice, long sturdy but fresh roll. Get it w/ the sauce (real cheesesteak sz & not marinara sz), onions & peppers & enjoy! It's 14" of meaty goodness that you won't want to come up for air from! They also offer subs & chips, but my hubby & I are SUCKERS for their cheesesteaks. YUMLICIOUS!

No sure what is is about this place but the food sucks you in. They don't do anything particularly flashy or use ultra high end ingredients (very fresh though), or have the most up to date decor but what ever they do, go have a seat at a small booth and get into the subs, cheesesteaks and fries. It is an amazing experience. The Amoroso rolls are a huge plus.

For the value, the cheesesteaks are great. They pulverize/mince their meat; so if you are looking for a traditional philly type cheesesteak its not that kind. The meat is tender and moist, and not greasy. The bread is a softer, but chewy (in a good way) italian sub roll. It handled the meat/cheese well and was very easy to eat. I had hot peppers added to the cheesesteak. There were a good amount of hot peppers added. I wish someone would remove the stem pieces though. A minor issue, but when you eating something like a cheesesteak, you dont want to chew on something hard like a hot pepper stem while you are eating it. I also had a large "bucket" of curly fries (about 8" high/4" wide). I know everyone has said great comments about the fries, but I didnt think they tasted as fresh and hot as I would have liked them. They were good, but nothing special for $4.00. For the value and the cheesesteaks, I will return!

Been going to Carl's on and off for years. You would never hear the saying: "Where's the beef" at Carl's. EVERY steak sandwich is PACKED with tender juicy steak meat falling out of the bun. Fries are always hot and fresh and I have never eaten anything that I was dissatisfied with. The BLTs are simply the best! The staff hasn't changed much over the years and that is a great sign that the staff and Carl care about the product they produce.

Charly J's review of Carl's is pretty accurate except for one thing - the bread. It's not sturdy at all. It looked like it was when the counter girl showed me the size, but once the meat got inside, the filling practically slid right through the middle of the roll (not the bottom but the middle). Granted the filling was packed with meat and was very tasty, it was also a complete and utter mess to eat. I'm all for the overload of meat. But if you're going for that wow factor, you gotta make sure your buns can take all that meat!

A great sandwich shop in the heart of Bethlehem. Nice friendly service and the food is solid. Cheesesteaks are some of the best in town and everything is just as is should be (fries, pierogies etc..) One of my favorite things about this place is the large selection of A-TREAT soda's, it truly gives it a great local feel. They could work on the atmosphere a little, really not much going on and often feels cluttered.

this place is great!! i have had three different sandwiches; the cheesesteak, the cheese burger sub, and the white turkey meat sub. they were all so great its hard for me to choose now. with any good sandwich its starts with the BREAD, and i can say the bread here is great. its nice and fresh. i usually go here for lunch when i am in the mood for a sandwich and dont want to spend more then 5 bucks for one. the cheese steak is probably one of the best in the area. the meat is well cooked and nice and juicy and its not overly chopped up like some places do it. the sauce is a little on the sweet side which i don't mind. i always get mine with hot peppers and pickles. i thought the bread was able to stand up to the meat and not get all soggy before i finished my sandwich. the sides area really good here to especially the curly fries. i love curly fries and they are nice and thick and well cooked and seasoned here. the people that work here are super friendly and they are fast to. this place is a must for anybody serious about good sandwiches! i paid 6.87 for a regular cheese steak with pickles and hot peppers and a small fried!! great lunch
