Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. You must also avoid Breakfast Platter and Pancake Platter from the menu. Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll from the breakfast menu are also off-limits for diabetics.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Normally, I would have expected to give them 4 stars. The burgers are very good, and the onion rings are the best. That being said, I think if any restaurant is going to offer alternatives to their main theme (in this case burgers), they should be as good as the main. I wasn't in the mood for a burger, so I got the Chicken Cobb Salad. Greens were good, but the chicken was dry (probably made earlier that day and held in the warmer), the added olives were green and too salty and sour vs. the more classic black olives, and hte add roasted red peppers were flavorless. So, a word to the wise, if you go to a burger joint, stay with the burgers. The usually attentive staff clearly wanted to be elsewhere, so it aggravated the situation. Did I complain? No, and shame on me. Would I go there again? Yes, for a burger

Simple menu. Burgers, fries and a few other things. Choice of meat for burgers was a great option. Ordered the wedge salad... A little too much dressing, should have asked for it on the side. Buffalo chicken fries as app. Amazing. Short rib and brisket mix burger with cheddar, chili, fried Onion. Could have had a little more chili but it was great flavor and cooked perfectly. Short rib and brisket blue cheese burger amaze and perfect temperature as well. Great service clean and friendly and very fast for being busy.

Best burger I ever ate! Very noisy and crowded but the food was great.

Wasn't impressed at all. Come on, Emeril. I had the mushroom burger and I asked for medium rare, but it definitely came out way more medium. The flavor was also lacking and I tried using salt, pepper, hot sauce to season it up. For $15 a burger, I expect much better than that. I guess there aren't many options at Sands Casino though. Sweet potato fries were good.

OMG one of the best burgers I've ever had! I had the Whiskey BBQ Burger with sweet potato fries, and I loved every single bite of the cheesy, smokey, crunchy, salty, burger. It was huge and I left a few bites. I requested it medium and it was on point. Luckily, my boyfriend was able to help me with my fries because there was no way I would be able to eat the whole plate. These fries actually taste like sweet potato which I find is pretty rare for sweet potato fries. The pickle that comes with the plate is great too, pickle lovers will really enjoy the strong vinegar and dill flavor. I had a cocktail which might have been called "Very Berry Lemonade" - I'm not sure if it was a special but I enjoyed it and drank every last drop. Not too strong, not too weak...just right. It was a nice place to unwind for a little while with a good meal.

The burgers here are 5 stars. I've eaten here 2 times and was blown away by the flavor. Stick to the specialty burgers and don't try to build your own. I had the black and blue burger this time--rich, zesty, juicy, with a little kick. Burgers are about $15 and come with a side of o-rings, fries, slaw, or sweet potato fries AND a pickle spear (amazing, yes the pickle). I've never had dessert here. If you are bothered by smoke you may not like this place. It's located right off the gaming floor of the Sands Casino.

Had a breakfast burger and it was the best burger I ever had. Prices were reasonable too. I will definitely be back.

It's nice that this place was open late. The breakfast burger was good-yes, $15 is a lot for this kind of burger, but you're in a casino.

  • C P.

Burger was ok but the food handling was more surprising. The chefs were prepping raw chicken basically in the dining room on a counter that was 5 feet from a table with customers, and servers were putting food to be taken out to tables on the same counter with the raw chicken. Right beside the chef was another chef with raw seafood on the same counter. Can you say cross contamination. It was hard for me to watch seeing how as though I myself am a professional chef and know this behavior is totally unacceptable in the food service industry. So if you eat here and shortly after need to excuse yourself you will have some idea of why.

It was OK, a few weeks after eating here I had a much better burger at St. James Gate, the Irish pub located across the casino. The food at Emerils burgers is expensive.

  • Kelly H.

First, you need to know it is inside the casino. Any minors in your part and your are required an escort. Even to the bathroom door. Service was a tad lacking. But just my guy. Cannot say as an overall. Loud in here. But as for food - my Grass fed burger made my way, was delicious! Now have to wait for check

Excellent burgers ,might be best I ever had. They give you simple list to order meat of your choice ,bun, toppings ....I had beef chuck on brioge bun, basil mayo ,avocado...medium well. If not going back to sands casino ( this restaurant is inside the casino) I might take 60 miles ride just get another burger. I believe this place is owned by Emeril.

BURGERS AND MORE BY EMERIL We ate here for lunch today, we "beat the crowd" so we thought. Entered around 11:45 left around 1PM and still many empty seats. Could it be that this 1-2 HR wait in line restaurant has lost its glory? When it first opened my good friend Geraldine and I ate here. On the menu back then they proudly bragged about using Nueskes Applewood smoked bacon on their burgers. Nueskes for people who appreciate the best in bacon. We also thought back then, they may have ground bacon and put some in the burgers for added flavor (not sure). And topped it with a few strips of Nueskes Applewood smoked bacon. Today on my blue cheese with Applewood smoked bacon, I honestly could not taste the bacon. My burger was topped with blue cheese, bacon & mushrooms and it was good but nothing I'd pay $15 for again. Roll was good, everything was good, just not the best. Wifey got a Burger with American cheese and mushrooms and she enjoyed hers also. For the $15, you get either French fries & onion rings, I had Onion rings and wifey had fries. Both were good. Burger is filling but not a 10-12oz monstrosity that groundhogs seem to love these days. $15 a burger, you would think they could afford the Nueskes bacon which sells for under $9 LBS retail. That extra 50 or 75 cents a burger really adds to the overall flavor of an overpriced burger. Waitress Sarah, was a gem.. Two Soda & meal $37.00

If I could give a lower rating than 1 star I would. It was a very long wait to be seated. Once we were seated it took forever for our order to be taken. The food was a huge disappointment. Incredibly salty. I want my food to be great when I pay $15 for a sandwich. Last but not least it took forever for someone to take payment on our check. Not the great experience I was expecting from an Emeril restaurant.

My husband and I decided to try this place again after a show, since we enjoyed it so much the first time, we both are so happy we did. Again, food and service were too notch. We both ordered The Smokehouse -Bacon BBQ Burgers, I had mine with the spiced panko breaded onion rings and my husband had the bam fries. Burgers were juicy, cooked perfect, and our sides were nice and crispy.

I ordered the mushroom burger with lettuce, tomato and carmelize onion with their cole slaw and onion rings on the side. The burger is delicious!!! The cole slaw is spicy so be sure u can handle spicy food, otherwise, do not order. Their onion rings are awesome! All burgers order comes with one side order. The price ranges $12 to $14. Additional sides order is $3 each. Sorry yelp friends! I was so hungry and the food looks really delicious so I forgot to take a pic lol.

Service and burgers are outstanding! We were met at the door immediately and the great service never stopped. I ordered the lamb burger which was out of this world! The onion rings were very good also, I would add some additional sauce though, the ketchup didn't quite do it. Sara took amazing care of us! The icing on the cake was the ice cold beer... My best lunch in a while!

So I came here by accident (to the Sands Casino) with my BFFL or Beef as I like to call him. After cooler cleaning we get all fabulous and go shopping and eating and what not. So the outlets seemed like a good idea. Since they are called OUTlets I assumed OUTside. But alas, 2 in the afternoon and were showing IDs , entering a casino. No B, just two beefs middle of the day in a casino right? So we were starving got some delicious burgers. Mine had cheese and mushrooms and Beefy built his own. All this while sipping on gin and juice ( juice as in my Sangria ). Waitress was nice and attentive. And the burgers were HUGE and we shared fries AND sweet potato fries! Now onto the missing star. So we shopped for sparkly shoes and Mr. Rogers sweaters. Then Beefy spotted something. The ROUNDEST , biggest, succulent protruding booty I've ever seen. Followed that ass right to the lobby and out! So we were Lynning past Lynn Lane and it hit me! THE BURGA BURN I had the ultimate Emeril burger burn holy sweet baby Jesus only a blue slushy could extinguish the flames so I parked by a man making a salad in a truck and got blue slushy everywhere I looked like a stained pregnant shirt wearing mess. But oh the burga burn. So it was good just beware the Emeril burga burn

Got to the restaurant right after they opened for lunch. Order the Cajun burger that featured a burger patty, sausage patty, pepper jack cheese and spicy mustard. One of the best burgers I've ever had, EVER. Cooked perfectly, I only wish this restaurant was closer to my house. Highly recommended.

Well after about ten days I got an email from an F&B manager at The Sands wanting to know first hand what happened at the awful meal in question. After about a ten minute phone call she agreed to comp a meal for my wife and I to try things there one more time. Initially we got there and the hostess up front had no record of our reservation or of our comped meal. So she turned us over to our server who then went and found the shift manager to try and sort things out. Even after we gave our name again there was some confusion as they had multiple comps meals coming in that night ranging in issues from greasy burgers to undercooked chowder. (We know because the shift manager kept going through their dirty laundry of comped meals for the evening until she got to ours.) So uneventfully we placed our order and a short while later the manager brought out our fried mozzarella appetizer and while small the flavor was much better than your typical mozz stick at a chain restaurant or bar. Our burgers were brought out by the manager while , of course, the appetizer was still not even finished creating for an extremely jammed table full of plates, glasses, silverware, etc. (The table next to us practically begged their server twice to bring their soup before the burgers and not all at one time. She brought it out all together anyway.) The burgers themselves were good and knowing from past visits to not order the fries, either over-seasoned and salty or one time raw, we each tried the beans and while good they were inedible for a good ten minutes as they were scalding hot. The manager asked us if we didn't like the beans and clearly was clueless to the plume of smoke and steam rising from the cup. All in all while the food itself was better, this place has a real service issue from clueless and distracted shift managers to apathetic servers who clearly don't get what it takes to run a quality restaurant. Emeril should be embarrassed. This place for us has a new name: Burgers and No More.

I joked with my friend that the Sands Casino should be renamed Emeril's Sands Casino because the man has three restaurants in the place. We tried the burger joint for lunch and there wasn't much of a wait. When the hostess said "just a few minutes," she really did mean a few minutes (unlike my previous review of the Chop House). I wasn't going to order an appetizer but my friend wanted to try the chili fries... While they were amazing (Emeril has awesome chili!), it's also deadly, meaning that it kills your appetite! The plate was quite large, enough to feed a table of four or five. Once our burgers came out (we had both built our own burgers in 8 easy steps), I could only finish half of it and barely any of my kicked up slaw! The kicked up slaw is kind of like Kimchee, so I wasn't crazy about it. It was more sour than flavorful. My burger was awesome, even though I couldnt finish it. I had the grass-fed beef, with pepperjack cheese, bbq sauce and jalapenos on an onion roll. If you aren't terribly hungry I would recommend just the burger and a side, the apps are way too filling!

This is my first burger review in my burger section and who else should I start out with than Emerils Lagasse the master himself,I've eaten at his restaurants in both Florida and Las Vegas and it was amazing so my hopes were very high and here's the breakdown....roll--the best roll I've had it tastes like an extremely fresh onion bagel Meat...not seasoned and surprisingly bland Toppings...nice options on the build your own,I chose avocado and fried egg Overall the bun makes this burger just good and not great

I'll drive out of my way for this burger. It takes about an hour and a half from my house to the parking garage at the Sands, but I'll gladly take that trip for one of these delicious burgers. Each time I've been to 'Emeril's Burgers and More', I've waited about 15 minutes in line to get a table. Once seated, I've always had a draft beer and ordered a burger with BAM! fries, which have some pretty tasty seasoning, themselves. When ordering a burger, you're given a card and a pencil, like you're keeping score while playing golf. You select everything about your burger, from the type of meat, to the bun, cheese and toppings....mostly eliminating the human error. It's pretty quickly served and very quickly consumed. This isn't a gourmet restaurant, it's very casual and has a 'diner' element, so don't expect to be blown away on a romantic date or anything, but for food quality, these burgers are second to none.

don't get me wrong, i enjoy a big piece of meat. this burger took it too far though. delicious and special toppings: check. expedited service: check. yummy onion rings and shakes: check. my mouth can not physically open large enough to take in an adequate bite of all parts together. so much meat that the toppings lack the prominance they ought have if served on a regular sized burger. the fries had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp a little too long. overall, i would do it again (only if someone else is paying). a bit expensive and pretentious for a burger joint (branding gone bad?). if you really really like ground meat cooked into enormous patties, this place is for you.

fat Peter rating system. as follows: STARS- standard yelp CHANCE I WILL BE BACK- 2+ times pass the test Reason to go/went: Its Emeril ! Nice place, you gotta try it out. Very decent but 14 dollars for a burger is not cheap but good 3 bucks for a drink!! looking at 21 for a bill. I got a short rib brisket round. - Balsamic vinegar cooked onions (good but too vinegary) next time tell em less.

The burgers here are good here but not worth the price or the walk across the Casino floor. If you want a great burger try Maches Gute on Linden Street--half the price.

This place outclasses Bobby Flay's Burger Palace by a country mile!! I can't say enough good things about this Build Your Own Burger establishment. This was my second jaunt to this meaty heaven on on bun and again what an ode to oral pleasures !!(We're talking hot food here kids.)

Had a few minutes to spare before bus boarding back to NYC, so stopped in, and sat at the snug counter seats. It's a bright and friendly layout, and was quickly greeted by a bartender and a waitress. Decided on the portbello burger which comes with carmelized onions, on a delish potato style roll. My medium rare burger was cooked to order, just the right amount of juice and spice to complement the great tasting beef. Had the spicy cole slaw which is more like a salad with zesty vinagrette - much lighter and refreshing than the mayo component. Was really satisfied, and happy that altho there was a bit of a wait, all was eaten (should I say devoured), and paid in time to catch and board the bus with a few minutes to spare! Would definitely recommend - want to go back to try other things. Only minus (1 star) was there was no where to put luggage - and it seemed to cause more of an issue than it should have.

Located inside of the Sands casino, this is one of Emeril's restaurants. This is an informal burger joint. I found the service and the food to be very good. Their burgers are far better than most, but cost a bit more than most would expect. They do have a bar, which you won't find at most burger joints. The decor is quite modern, hip and clean. If you are not into dressy meal, deli food or "food court" food, then this place worth checking out.

  • David M.

Overpriced burgers? Oh yeah... on the other hand, if you go into a casino expecting values and bargains, you'll be sorely disappointed. The burgers here are very good, definitely several notches above the high end franchise chains like Five Guys or Fuddruckers (or even the more moderately priced Mo' Burger in the food court). I don't think anyone will walk out of there having felt cheated. Had no trouble getting a seat on the Friday evening and the waitstaff was pleasant and courteous. Its a treat to build your own burger, can't wait to go back and try out a few other combinations.

I tried this place when it first opened up and again on Sunday. The place is always crowded and they squeeze you in like cattle. It is a small place and the tables are very close together. The prices are no doubt over priced. I had both the grass fed and Prime Chuck (couldn't tell the difference) they tasted average at best. They have a nice selection of toppings but that is where it ends. The fries are just average too. There is no Bam for the buck in this place.

Wanted to visit one of the Emril restaurants in the Sands casino, chop house too expensive and heard nothing good about the Italian place. Ended up at the burger place wanting some bam and got nothing but bland tasting food. Kicked up slaw was just added vinegar with no real Cajun seasoning. My burger was over cooked and tasteless. I guess you need some fat. Would not go again.

I'm a wing connoisseur and the spicy/honey wings are now on the top of my list!! Cooked perfect, perfect sauce leave, just awesome! Also had a brisket/short rib burger with the balsamic onions which was also delish! Can't wait to go again. Location is only reason for 4 stars.

Not too long ago I was on a quest for a damn good burger. Fast food didnt cut it. Five Guys didnt cut it. I was looking for hotel-restaurant type burger. Thankfully, burger joints are all the rage right now, and I was able to sample Bobby's Burger Palace and Burgers and More in the same weekend. Burgers and More is in the sexy Sands casino. Having spent four years in Bethlehem, it's nice to see some revitalization come to the area. Having been to a few Pennsylvania casinos, it is nice to see the Sands get it right. That being said, I was surprised to see Emeril's name slapped on two places inside. I dont necessarily associate him with burgers, but why not. I definitely like the meat choices. You can pick from beef, turkey, veg, or a brisket mix. Of course I would pick the brisket, and what a choice. It had a juicier texture and a bit more flavor than regular ground beef. Definitely worth it. You also get to choose from a selection of toppings and then a side of fries/rings/beans/slaw. I chose the fries. They were the least favorite portion of my meal. They would have been perfect if served on time, but they were lukewarm and stale-crispy. As with any fry tossed in a spice blend, some bits were more covered than others. The staff was nice enough. They dont really do much, to be fair, since each patron circles their choices on a piece of paper. My server was nice, filled drinks without asking, and was generally not screwing up. Go here. Seriously. Even if you just go here for lunch, parking is free in the garage. If you ever get a craving for a GOOD burger, come here.

Burgers here were awesome, the rest was okay. My family went in and each built our own burgers, and they were great...they were effing good burgers. The three stars comes for sides and price...we got fries, onion rings, and coleslaw. Fries were good, onion rings tasted like they were frozen, coleslaw was just not good...it had some weird red spice that made it look like someone poured ketchup in it. Hot sauce, maybe? I don't know. Anyway, not thrilled. Burgers were $14 each. If you're at the casino, it's worth checking out if you want to spend the money, if you just want a burger save your money and go to Five Guy's.

Burgers are good. Prices, not so much. For what you get you sure do pay a lot. The service everytime we have been has been pretty bad. Our waiters usually disappear. We saw the busser working harder. We wish our tip would have gone straight to her. She was the hardest working one there, including the manager. The last time we went there were about 8 tables open and we were told we had to wait. For what? After 10 minutes of waiting they sat us. If you are at the Sands, eat there but I would not go out of my way.

The restaurant is badly located: near the smoking area of the casino, and no windows isolate the restaurant. You can feel the no so faint smell of cigarettes. It is also not really a pub with burgers and beer, it's more like a fast food place with uncomfortable seats and tiny tables. The beer choice is limited and includes too many crapy twice drunk beer (miller etc). service was fine. Food wise, the fries were tasty and well seasoned. The burger was decent, although the cook does not really know what medium rare is (was quite medium!). It's more pricey than other burger places in Bethlehem (~14 for a burger), and I see no reason to come back here instead of going to these other places.

One night I had a craving for a really good burger. I suggested The Bookstore Speakeasy. My dining companion said "no." Party pooper. Then I went out on a limb. "The casino? Emeril's? The burger place we haven't tried yet?" I don't know which of those questions caused him to say yes, but we drove down the street to the Sands. We both built our own burgers. I had the grass-fed beef and it was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. The fries were perfect. Service, as I've come to expect at the casino's restaurants, is just meh. I just lower my standards and then I'm not disappointed. OK. Here's what I hate. Don't take my plate while I'm still eating. Don't make me say, "Wait! I'm not done yet!" that's so embarrassing. I mean, maybe I shouldn't have eaten all those fries, or that pickle, but damn, they were good! I'm going back for another burger, this time with a $5 shake.

Emeril's Burgers & More has potential but was disappointing. The vibe is more restauranty than some of the popular burger places (five guys, smashburger, Bobby Flay's burger palace). They have appetizers, salad and a lot of non-beef options for those in the casino who aren't not in a burger and fries kind of mood. They offer alcohol as well. But I can't say eating at Burgers & More was "the ultimate burger experience". The burger was the worst part of the meal. Sides: My friend and I split an order of onion rings and an order of BAM fries, which were both served in adorable mini-fry baskets....so cute. The fries well seasoned and just the right size: smaller than steak fries, but bigger than shoestring. The onion rings....ehhh. nothing special there. Just like the big fat ones from Jersey dinner that when you bite into them the onion slides out and you're left holding the fried batter coating. Not crispy. Burger: I ordered the special of the month; a Southwestern burger (I admit that was probably my mistake for not sticking with what the chef is known for and tried the creole burger). Honestly, the quesadilla burger at Applebee's is much better and cheaper. The southwestern burger featured grass fed beef with avocado, pico de gallo, pepperjack and crispy tortilla straws. The soft freshly baked bun was easily overpowered by all of those heavy condiments and the juiciness of the beef, and literally within seconds I had a soggy mess in my hands. My friend created her own burger combo and was underwhelmed. We decided it wasn't worth it. we'd better leave room for our favorite course....dessert! Dessert: Wow! We split a brownie sundae. It was one of the best brownie sundaes I've ever had. The brownie was just right; slightly crispy on the outside while being moist, chewy and uncakey on the inside. The perfect brownie was topped with premium chocolate and vanilla ice cream and just the right amount of hot fudge and whipped topping. I'd go again, and just have dessert.

I want to make it clear that I am not a fan of Emeril (the chef). With that being said, I was skeptical about going to any of his restaurants. I checked out the menu and was already turned off by the price of a burger. $14 to be exact. My buddies coerced me. Feeling pretty good after winning some money and having a few drinks, they dragged me here! The whole time while ordering I was miserable. The burger came out, my decision was swaying. Took my first bite, I was in heaven. I tried to resist but kept eating the burger. 3 minutes later (exaggerating) I polished it off...delicious! Impressive meat, toppings were fresh, bun was melting like butter...mmmmmmm.... When you are about to order a burger they do make you fill out a form checking off what items you want. Most are included (price wise) except something like bacon. The only reason this did not get 5 stars was the chicken apps we ordered came out raw and they apologized, took it off the bill and apologized some more. Friendly staff (bartender - sat at the bar and ate & manager). Good place to grab a burger, then go lose some money at the tables.

This restaurant has an identity crisis. First off the restaurant is located in the smoking area of the casino and if you have to wait in line you are assailed with a lot of cigarette smoke. Certainly you can deal with it but it makes the wait unpleasant and gives a bad first impression. Second, the restaurant makes claims of exceptionalism but does little to live up to those claims. Emeril can advertise all he wants that he has exceptional burgers but frankly the burgers were rather unremarkable. I've had similar tasting burgers at nicer pubs and sports bars. Frankly, many of the fancier ingredients in the burger added nothing to the meal. For example, the giant portobello mushroom in my burger was bland. And there certainly wasn't enough bacon either. Also my medium burger was more medium rare than anything. The french fries tasted quite frozen. If sports bars can do fresh cut fries that taste like actual potatoes, then Emeril can certainly do the same. At least the seasoning on the fries was good, but it was wasted on these fries. The onion rings were pretty good, though. Can't comment if they were frozen or not but they were certainly tasty. Lastly, I have to say that the entire restaurant gave off the vibe of "slightly less decorated knockoff of Five Guys." It's almost as if they tried to make the restaurant look too much like a fast food joint and slapped on higher prices as an afterthought. The decor was very chain store-esque and the noise level was pretty loud. Service was attentive. I'll give them that. It was even Restaurant Week! As a side note, I'd like to see Emeril do his version of A&Js Taiwanese food. I think it'd be a hit at the Sands given all the Asian patrons. That being said, everyone should try the Annandale location: yelp.com/biz/a-and-j-ann…

This is the 3rd of Emeril's installments in the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, and its the only casual one. It's styling is a bit of 50's diner, although not trying to take that the whole way. It's decent for business lunches, which is what I was there for, but you have to share the space with the casino crowd. These are perhaps the best burgers you can find, and my lunch partner agreed. The ingredients are fresh, and the burgers are cooked perfectly. The prices aren't outrageous - $14 for a make-your-own burger with a side - relative to the meal portion and quality. I'll be going back.

I went here with a few friends on Friday. Even though it was very late (9pm) for dinner, the place was still full, although we were able to get a table right away. They do not accept reservations unless you have a large party, but perhaps you can call ahead. We went for the full experience - which is to build your own burger for $14. I went with grass-fed beef, wheat roll (which has sesame seeds galore so be forewarned if you are allergic), caramelized onions, bbq sauce and cheese. It was really yummy, and you could taste the quality of the beef. Comes with one side - I got the onion rings which were good but a little overcooked. Only downer is that both my and my husband's burgers came out sans one of the toppings, and we had to request it. After speaking with others this seems to be a common occurrence (not surprising for a new restaurant). That said, managers seem to be aware of their issues and are watching the chefs in the open kitchen like hawks. I got the martini from the menu which was good, and friends got the milkshake which they said was amazing. Overall a positive experience. $14 for a burger and fries (even of a higher quality) is a bit much, but you are paying for the Emeril name. I already have plans to go back.

I already hit the trifecta at Burgers and More, having visited three times in the past month, and enjoying it every time. Is it a 14$ burger?...No. Is it a 10-12$ burger, yes. The premium price is justified in the selection of specialty items you choose from, such as blue cheese, applewood bacon, and fresh fried motz, on top of your choice of 4 meats, the new "hip" location, and the bam-man's name on it all. I have only eaten at the bar, and with few others at my usual late visits, had personal, almost 1 on 1 service with the bartenders. They could be open later, but so could all of the restaurants at the Sands. Is it the best burger I have ever had? No. That honor goes to Joe Allen's in NYC, which had the tastiest, most simple burger ever to touch my lips. Best burger in the valley? Maybe, but with Five Guys great value, and better french fries, it's a close call. My fav? The brisket blend, medium well, plain roll, blue cheese and balsalmic glazed onions, with worcestershire on the side for dipping the chunky onion rings. FYI...the Sands is having a restaurant week starting 1/31, with a 3 course meal-deal at all of the restaurants. They range from 20-30$ a person and are a nice way of sampling a new restaurant, usually including a soup/salad, entree, and desert. Although not a real "deal" if you don't usually eat desert, which is really the only bonus of ordering the whole package.

My friend told me I have to try the burgers here. He told me they were amazing - best he's ever had. I typically take this friend's advice with a grain of salt because nothing is ever "pretty good" with him. It's either the best ever or the worst ever, and many times, i have caught him switching various dining establishments to best ever from worst ever, vice versa, and then back again. That said, I felt my fickle friend might have been on to something with his recommendation. Even so, what are my other choices here? The food court, which is utterly disgusting and ridiculously overpriced. So I grabbed a seat at the bar - very jersey diner/johnny rockets kinda feel to it. This made me feel very comfortable right away. Good beers on tap as well. Anyway, I am not much for all the silly variations and gimmicks, so as interesting as some of the selections were, I don't need to fill out my burger order card like a Chinese menu. Just a burger, straight up. I don't put ketchup on my steak at Peter Lugers (actually don't put on the Luger sauce either, which goes on everything in the world except for lugers steak), I don't order 27 toppings on a pizza at Grimaldis, and I don't need a girl who always is caked in makeup (a lil off topic here). I ordered their regular fries also, but that was just an afterthought. Upon a cursory view of my plate when it arrived, I noticed a couple of things. One, the bun looked exemplary. Great shape too it also. I am not sure if that matters. It is similar to the bun at 5 napkin burger. Emerril, you did a bang up job my man, because one of the key metrics burger enthusiasts use is Bun/Burger ratio, much like those finance types talk about price to earnings (again, off topic - sorry its a monday and id rather talk burgers than work). And that ratio was perfect. Each bite dude. The actual burger was incredible. perfectly cooked, pink in the inside, tasted like very high quality meat, not gross fast food patties like a five guys. It was coarsely ground. It was also a great size. Many bars in the city give these huge monstrosities that you can't hold, much less open your jaw wide enough to properly negotiate. After eating it, I felt great, like sure, i could order another one, or perhaps two, but I'll be fine with just this one and not be overly stuffed. Price was very reasonable as well, and the woman at the bar was friendly. Now if only I could get better at playing cards, this burger won't cost me $200 every time I crave it!

Best burger period...why? The topping choices. Applewood smoked bacon and avocado...YES! I know its 12 bucks but its pilled high like a 12 dollar burger should and the grass fed mince is amazing. The last time I was in there with my girlfriend, the waitress wasn't very excited to be there, so nix a star on the board.

Took my 80 something Mom for a little outing at the casino and we stopped in for lunch. Seated immediately, attentive wait staff took our order quickly, and our burgers were there in no time. Did not get all the details on Moms, but my burger with portobello mushroom and blue cheese was outstanding! Onion rings were the best I've had in the area. Could not finish but enjoyed every bite of the excellent ground beef, well barbecued mushroom, carmelized onions and blue cheese. Bun was delicious and sturdy enough to support the lucious ingredients. A bit noisy and I did not like the smoking, but I will go back.

YUM! I just returned to my hotel from having dinner there and wanted to review this right away before I forget any details! Work brought me all the way to Allentown and I wanted to eat something delicious to make up for my day of flying (lack of food). I created my own burger with 8-steps: onion bun, prime chuck, cooked medium, balsamic onions, applewood smoked bacon, swiss cheese, garlic-mayo sauce, and BAM fries. The burger also came with lettuce, tomato, and onions. The burger was delicious! Tender and juicy. The balsamic-braised onions were like candy. I took out the lettuce and tomato because the burger was way too stacked for me to smush together in order to take a bite. The seasoning for the fries was very tasty as well. It complemented the burger completely. If I ever find myself in this area again, I would surely come back!

I came here for some late night eats with my parents. We were seated right away with no wait and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the burger which is your usual cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle on the side. We got one with peperjack cheese and onion rings and the other with provolone and bam fries. We also ordered the chicken sandwich which does not come with a side. The burgers were cooked perfectly medium and were really juicy. The bam fries were crispy with a kick and the onion rings were crispy as well. The chicken sandwich had a combination of avocado and chipotle mayo that worked very well. I had low expectations going in since I did not enjoy Bobby Flay's burger place in NJ so I was expecting it to be in comparison. Boy was I wrong! Open one up in NJ please!

since the deli and the irish pub were closed on Monday, we ended up here for lunch. I was very happy with the experience at burgers and more. The hostess and servers were pleasant and professional. The drinks were well made. But the star of the show is the burger, cooked to perfection! The onion rings were fab as well.

Came here about a year ago and I love Emeril and all his establishments but had an incident here. Had The Creole: 8-ounce Grass-fed Beef, Andouille Sausage, Pepper Jack Cheese and House Made Spicy Mustard. I would've given the place and the food another star since it was really good going down but not some hours later when I realized I had gotten food poisoning and was curled up in pains for the next few days. I wouldn't tell anyone not to come because of this, I would go back if I ever was ever here again, but just letting you know of my experience.

Burgers. Emeril. Two things that should spell out the culinary equivalent of "WOW." But on this occasion, it was more of a "yawn." Just visited the Sands yesterday with the glimmer of a hopefulness that only the buzz of a restaurant experience you've been hearing about for so long can bring, however which sadly turns into the classic ending of Chevy Chase arriving at Walley World: "Sorry, folks the park's closed." Ok so it wasn't quite that bad but really it wasn't what was expected. Here's the Brigade Critic's First-Time Lowdown: The Atmosphere Classic touches of an Emeril's restaurant with the twist of a burger joint. The open kitchen (food bar sans the seats) with a milkshake and ice cream station. Open floorplan with a modern bar area although this area seems crammed into the existing restaurant and entry area. Screams "afterthought." Visiting on a Sunday afternoon between lunch and dinner (the BC likes to pick out odd times, it shows how the restaurant truly operates), our party of 6 were two four tops along the banquette pushed together towards the end, net effect the BC had to slide in and sat crammed against a wall (luckily no fire drill, but not comfortable for a guy who enjoys the culinary arts in general). The Menu The menu is invitingly simple, a bright spot. There are classic burger joint and bar foods done "Emeril" style along with some classics you expect to find inside any 5-star diner, drive-in or dive. The highlight of the menu, of course, is the $14 "build your own burger." In the classic sush-style of "circle what you'd like" along with the tiny pencils on the table, this seemed to be the restaurant's most popular option. Along with (at least for its service, more confusing - more to come on that in a later section). After much debate, I chose the brisket-mix burger, done medium on an onion roll with pepperjack cheese, braised balsamic onions, andouille sausage ($1 please) and Emeril's Credole mustard. For the side, I chose panko-crusted onion rings and additionally the kicked-up slaw (after hearing much ado). Hold the lettuce, tomato, onions please (no need to weight it down). Human-to-Human Interaction Just a word on service. Or more than that, customer service. Perception is reality and it gets nowhere arguing with the customer's perception. From the moment we walked in, it appears the staff was concerned about getting us in, getting our food and getting us out. Friendly, but not really inviting or talkative (that is until the food came). Watching the burgers made on the line and sitting under the food warmer waiting (not to mention, scarily, the cole slaw) for onion rings and fries (and the servers to figure out who's order went where), you have to begin to wonder whether the kitchen really has a rythmic sensibility about it or whether its the old "slap it on the bun and get it going." Culinary Arts One cut into the burger told me it was the latter. The BC generally likes his burgers medium (a nod to the potential bacteria growing ability of undercooked ground meat). Medium, as our food friends know, is generally defined in beef as a warm, pink center cooked to 140-145 degrees. Note pink, not red. And warm, not cold. So after one look, I gently informed my server that this was not medium, but in fact between rare and medium rare but that I would elect to eat it (not wanting to send it back and watching another series of perplexed faces checking tickets against food gelling under the heat lamps of the pass. Enter the red-shirtted "manager" just off the 2-year college of sirloin arts program who looked (and acted) like she was no more than 18 or 19. OK, I'm thinking, let me play along with this so I proceed to point out what I received was not what I ordered at which point Miss Manager decides to "educate" me on how burgers are cooked here at Emeril's right down to the cooking temperatures, appearance etc. My question to MM: "Why are you arguing with the customer?" No response. MM asks to retrieve and refire, I politely decline pointing out odds are my burger will be back to me long after the rest of my party finishes based on the previous wait time for burgers to come off the line and into the dining room. At this point, MM decides to again point out my ignorance of the situation saying that the order was large - let's be real folks, a 6-top of burgers shouldn't tax the brainpower of any restaurant professionals, let alone 3 line cooks, 2 servers, a manager and a hostess. Just not really that complicated. Bottom line, I had to basically ask MM to just leave us alone to finish. Overall Thoughts Despite all, the burger was actually awesome! Consider the braised onions and andouille sausage, it was not greasy at all and had an excellent balance of seasonings despite the naturaly saltiness of the ingredients. The bottom line, bad service often can't be overcome by good food and this restaurant is a case in point.

When I dine at a celebrity chef's restaurant, even a casual one like this, I have the expectation that I'm gonna be blown away. I really wasn't blown away. Years ago I went to one of Emeril's restaurants in New Orleans and I thought it was amazing. I had the creole burger ( i think that was what it was called). The burger was ok, it was' nt cooked medium like I asked it was more like medium well. The andouille sausage on it didn't really add any amazing flavor to it like I was expecting. It was a nice sized, ok burger that cost $14 dollars with the side of rings. I thought the onion rings were excellent, maybe the best I've ever had. The fries were good too, nice seasoning. The service was so-so. Friendly waitress but she wasnt very attentive.

Unimpressed...no you know what...make that disappointed! $50 bucks for essentially two burgers and fries , ridiculous! Don't get me wrong I've bought high priced burgers before and loved them ie BurGR in Las Vegas but this was honestly absolute crap. The appetizer, chicken lollipops were very tasty. The breading they use is delicious but my burger was horrible. I got the patty melt. It was greasy and the dijon mustard tasted like crap. The ham on it that was basically Oscar Meyer lunchmeat. Everything about this burger was greasy and tasted bad. The cheese, the bacon..everything! I kept taking the thing apart and tasting the seperate parts thinking I might find something that tasted good, I never found it.I didn't finish it and didn't take it with me. Believe me that says something, especially since it was so expensive! The onion rings were 99% breading with a thin strip of onion that you couldn't even taste. It was like eating rings of fried breading. My wife had the crab burger with the sweet potato fries. Passable but nothing special. I will NEVER return to this place! Shame on you Emeril!! ,

We hail from the town of delcious burgers. Between Akron and Cleveland, there are SO MANY DELICIOUS BURGERS. So naturally, when we're out of town and don't know what else we're hungry for, we can almost always agree on burgers. Me and some friends were in Bethlehem to check out our favorite band at SteelStacks, but arrived super early and hungry, so we wandered down to the Sands. Lo and Behold, Emeril has a burger joint inside the casino! The atmosphere sucked, but I expected that. There's just something so depressing about casinos and more importantly the typical casino person. But we were hungry, and we can put aside weird atmosphere for delicious food. Instead of building my own, I chose the mushroom burger, with portobello mushrooms, grilled onions, and bleu cheese. The burger itself was juicy, a little greasy, and very flavorful. the bun was also perfect, and didn't get soggy. The housemade Worcestershire sauce is awesome, and makes for a delightful dip for your burger. I like that there is a side included in the $14 price tag (at home, i've been known to be TOTALLY OK paying $10+ for a good burger). We left Emeril's full of delicious burgers and beers, and ventured off to our show at SteelStacks (which was also awesome). I would never travel specifically to go to this restaurant, but to find it during my travels was a delicious find along the way.

Went here for lunch during a recent weekend stay at the sands..looked like you average burger shop but was pleasantly surprised with the burger. I got the short rib brisket blend...very tasty as were the sweet potato fries. The only issue with the place was it seemed dirty. The mirrors on the walls were filthy which is a red flag. Overall a Good place for a quick bite.

    1. Burger was juicy, cooked perfect and tasty. 2. Side came with my burger at no extra charge. It's a toss up between the sweet potato fries and the onion rings. 3. I got to pick all sorts of customized options - again at no charge. Waiter was a nice guy. I definitely recommend this place.

Strolling in the casino getting hungry. Went to burgers and more by Emeril it's a perfect place to go if you want a nice juicy burger. You can make your own burger and pick what you want on it. Doesn't get much better than that. They also have a nice beer menu and other tasty treats. Then when your done with your burger you should try their tasty dessert apple pie with vanilla ice cream so tasty. Then get back out on the casino floor and win more

Came with bf for a burger and indeed that is what I got!! I loved the paper form to customize my order, I was very pleased with that experience. I did not get any desserts. Quality of food was what I was expecting, a bit pricey for a burger however. Our waiter was great, smiley, energic, funny, engaging etc. Only downsides are: location being tucked into the corner of the casino and having to walk through cig smoke to get to your destination (it's a turn off).

The service was great - the waitress was super helpful, friendly, and patient. Both of our burgers were delicious!! The sweet potato and "regular" fries were both delicious as well. (I don't particularly enjoy Cajun fries, but they don't have non-Cajun fries on their menu. The waitress asked them to set me aside some fries with the next batch!)

I love this place. I love that you get a little card to fill out: you get to choose the type of meat (prime chuck, grass fed, chicken breast, etc.) and the cheeses, sauces, bun, and a side (french fries, onion rings, coleslaw, etc.) I always get the grass fed with pepper jack and chipotle mayo (with extra on the side for fries!) on a sesame bun. The fries are great and well seasoned. I hear the onion rings are fantastic too, though, I've never had them. A little expensive, but not when you consider that it is planted inside a casino. I previously thought it was $14 for the create-a-burger option with a side but I went a couple days ago and it was suddenly $16. Maybe it was because it was a holiday weekend. Or maybe they increased the prices (hopefully not!) Anyway, I definitely recommend you skip the gross food court and give this place a try. It's only a couple dollars more - and worth it.

On a recent stop in the casino to see what it was like, I decided this would be my lunch choice. It was either this or the Carnegie Deli. Now, I love the Carnegie Deli in New York. But perhaps I didn't want to take the chance of potentially ruining my image of the Carnegie if it wasn't up to snuff. I also remembered how much I loved Emeril's place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. So, it was time to see if Emeril (or in this case one of his trained employees) could make a great burger. I went for the $14 build your own burger special with the short rib brisket blend, pepper jack cheese, applewood bacon, mushrooms, and chipotle mayo with onion rings. I did love the idea of choosing all of the ingredients. I waited at the bar 15 minutes before it arrived, and expected a flavor explosion. I mean, come on... Emeril is the guy who popularized the BAM! Was it too much to expect a restaurant with his name on it to deliver a certain level of flavor? Well, overall it would up being a pretty good burger. But of all the toppings, the one I tasted the most was the bacon. I was a little surprised. With pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo, I expected the burger to have more serious heat to it. I tasted no real heat in the ingredients whatsoever. Not even a little peppery taste. Thank God the bacon was good or I would have had no extra flavor besides the meat, though I will say the meat was quite good. It was an Emeril experience without any real BAM! Man, I can't tell you how that let me down. But, if my expectations were lower coming in, I'd say it was a good burger overall, and good onion rings. I polished them off and left satisfied. But I wanted more for $14 than just a pretty good burger. Sorry, Emeril. I'm a fan of yours and always will be.. But Bobby Flay's chain makes a much better burger.

This weekend was my first trip to Pennsylvania. Today, I decided to visit Bethlehem to see the Sands Resort. And at lunchtime, we ate lunch at Burgers And More. The beef in my burger was good and tasty. The onion rings were actually my favourite part of the whole meal. They were crispy and fresh. One thing I didn't like about this place was that it cost about 40 dollars for my dad, brother and I! I Compared to other burger places, it's about 20 dollars more. However, I think it was worth it as the food was good!

Holy yummy burgers! I love the option to build your own burger here, you pick you meat, bun, cheese and toppings. Incredible. One negative, we sat at the bad on a Sunday afternoon because it was busy. The bartender was awful and very unprofessional. Otherwise everything was great.

I'd go again, and just have dessert.

don't get me wrong, i enjoy a big piece of meat. this burger took it too far though. delicious and special toppings: check. expedited service: check. yummy onion rings and shakes: check. my mouth can not physically open large enough to take in an adequate bite of all parts together. so much meat that the toppings lack the prominance they ought have if served on a regular sized burger. the fries had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp a little too long. overall, i would do it again (only if someone else is paying). a bit expensive and pretentious for a burger joint (branding gone bad?). if you really really like ground meat cooked into enormous patties, this place is for you.

If you are at the Sands, eat there but I would not go out of my way.

fat Peter rating system. as follows: STARS- standard yelp CHANCE I WILL BE BACK- 2+ times pass the test Reason to go/went: Its Emeril !

Burgers.

I believe this place is owned by Emeril.

since the deli and the irish pub were closed on Monday, we ended up here for lunch. I was very happy with the experience at burgers and more. The hostess and servers were pleasant and professional. The drinks were well made. But the star of the show is the burger, cooked to perfection! The onion rings were fab as well.

Very tasty burgers and fries. However, the stench of cigarettes ruins the experience for non-smokers such as myself. If you don't mind the stench, stop by and give them a try.

Holy yummy burgers! I love the option to build your own burger here, you pick you meat, bun, cheese and toppings. Incredible. One negative, we sat at the bad on a Sunday afternoon because it was busy. The bartender was awful and very unprofessional. Otherwise everything was great.

Ok... I admit I only had the chili, but is was by far the best I ever had. I should have ordered the bowl instead of just a cup. My wife loved the onion rings also... She mentioned "best ever" too.

Pretty solid burgers. Love the brisket blend. I dont gamble but when the girls n i need a quick night out, this is our first spot of the night. Stay away from the onion rings. Not worth the time and money!

Seriously 5 stars! Best sweet potato fries ever. Hot, salty, and thick with great potato flavor. Hamburger was quality meat with whatever you wanted on it. My husband and I could have split one. Desserts looked wonderful but no more room! I'll never eat again!

Shame on you Emeril!! ,

This place outclasses Bobby Flay's Burger Palace by a country mile!! I can't say enough good things about this Build Your Own Burger establishment. This was my second jaunt to this meaty heaven on on bun and again what an ode to oral pleasures !!(We're talking hot food here kids.)

  • Edouard M.

  • Jamie F.
