About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. If there was a way to give it 0 stars i would! Went in .. was seated by hostess, had to wait a while before my server came, had to wait even longer for them to bring the first drink, and had to ask for a refill. The menu looked great! Ordered a burger and was REALLY disappointed. way over seasoned, couldn't even finish it because it was so salty and I was out of lemonade. :) Chili cheese fris were the same ... way to seasoned. the host and hostesses were all messing around, and at one point knocked a sign over. I felt like I was back in high school! I would say you are better off going to five guys or even McDonald's before going here. I have been to other Applebees and have never had this bad of an experience. I'm not one to just go and write a bad review, but if it could save someone a trip. Glad to help out. Thanks!

Is it me or is Applebee's slipping fast? Usually I love the under 550 menu and other yumminess but the last few visits the food was hurting bad. I would think that this particular branch would stay on top of the quality as everything else is pretty smooth and there is a lot of quality competition very close at comparable or better cost. I hope I get to revise this in the future but as of today I won't be making plans to go back anytime soon! The service, as always, was good! That's how they earned the second star.

Would LOVE to know what happened to this place. When we first moved here, we'd go all the time. Didn't matter if we were having dinner with family and friends or just going for drinks. It was always a good time with a really friendly staff, good food and good drinks. Oh how times have changed. The staff has completely turned over including the long time bartenders. While Applebee's as a chain occasionally change their menu, the food itself isn't as good as it used to be. Even the old standby wings aren't the same. Total bummer. Last time I went we waited 20 minutes before we got up and left. No waitress even came near us. On our way out a waitress that we'd had before but was not in our section asked how we were doing and we made sure we told her in front of the manager. She was floored but he didn't seem to care. Oh well.

Typical chain restaurant fair this location is where the Ground Round used to be. I have been there a handful of times and have had great service, even a manager coming by to see how our meals are. It is my opinion more expensive than Friday's, Chilli's, etc. but they have a delicious 550 calorie menu.

Service has always been good here. They really need to change/update the menu though. Chicken fingers really do not taste that great, the bread that you get with a pasta is a joke. They really cut down on chicken parm size as well. If you come here stick with a burger, wings, or mozz stix.

Came here for a late lunch with my son. My teenage son had the sliders and he liked them. I had the mushroom swiss burger and it was fair quality. I had to use ketchup for flavor and moisture. The food isn't the reason for 2 stars the staff is. I heard at least one staff say how much he hated his job. I heard another talking trash about the customers. Other wait staff just hanging out playing on their phones and whatnot. Our waiter was alright but seemed to be very lackadaisical. We were seated near the kitchen. The manager came out several times and did a scan of the restaurant. My food was half eaten and obviously my plate appeared as if i wasn't happy with the food. Did he even acknowledge our existence you ask? No totally ignored us. I even told the waiter the food was less than mediocre. Did the manager come by? Nope sure didn't. Won't be coming back here again.

We went to the Applebee's in Chula Vista California a few days ago and the food was amazing. So we decided to try this Applebee's. We came to the conclusion that the food in Chula Vista taste better. Our server Bill was amazing though.

Can't go wrong with Applebee's, but it seemed smaller than the usual chain's of Applebee's.

At the age of 24, I finally experienced a piece of the "good life" that many humans of greater standards witness on a rather consistent basis. I went to an Applebees. It's okay to be jealous because ,after the lovely waitress bequeathed me her finest $3.99 special Long Island Iced tea, I proceeded to be flabbergasted by the many facets that an Applebees menu owns. First of all, it has a 550 calorie section. Having dismissed all of my fears of emasculation in front of my peer group, of who's opinion of me I still desperately seek a positive connotation, I courageously peruse through this section. Asian Crunch Salad: sugar snap peas, roasted red peppers... sounded complicated. I was in a state of momentous anxiety. "Shall I venture into the unknown?" I asked myself. Then, I proceeded to ask the waitress the exact same question. With great poise and confidence, the lovely waitress responded "I think so." Now, there is a time in every young man's life when he must make a decision that could change his outlook of his world permanently. This was my time. With a renewed vision, I looked at the waitress in her eyes and stated, "I shall attempt to champion this 550 calorie Asian Crunch Salad on this grand Sunday in March!" A rather confused facial expression was what the waitress left our table with as she became in pursuit of entering our dinner order. Who could blame her? What was stated a moment earlier was only mildly foreseeable. I then ordered a $3.99 personal pitcher of Yuengling Lager, and personal it was! At this moment, my personal lager pitcher and I became detatched from those who mistakenly ordered a Diet Coke, Lemonade, or, the ever so popular, Rob Roy. Before I could finish all 32 ounces of savory lager goodness, my challenger approached with nothing less than a grand entrance. At the front of the waitress's tray to the front of my face, I had to make lucid my predefined conceptions of this meal. I could barely fathom eating all 550 calories in one sitting. No turning back now. Needless to explain in grand detail, I made the walk of shame with the doggy-bag of disgrace towards the exit after the battle. It turns out that, with the personal lager pitcher, the meal carries more than the anticipated 550 calories of goodness. Being back in my normal everyday life, I have nothing more than the memories of once living the opulent lifestyle of the avid Applebees goer, and the dreams of returning.

There aren't many late night dining options in Bethlehem, so Applebee's seems to do a pretty brisk business after everyone else has closed. On our last trip here, my burger was very well done (I had ordered it "pink" since they won't do medium rare), and our fries were cold (and not the ones we ordered, either). Not sure if this was just s bad night, but we heard other diners all around us complaining about the lousy (and cold!) food. Our waitress, however, was very attentive and apologetic, and hot the manager to take the appetizer off our bill. They also gave us a card for a free appetizer and a free dessert on our next visit, but I doubt we'll return.
