There's really something special about the Italian restaurants back east that we can't get in Los Angeles. My parents grew up in Bedford (and moved to Kansas City, but that's a long story you're not interested in). In our last few visits to the area, we've developed a pattern. 1. We stay at the Bedford Springs (I mean, come on.) 2. One dinner at Original Italian Pizza. These aren't the only great things in Bedford. I'm just saying these are two of those things we love. I'm still mad about the Washington Bakery. We love having pizza, pasta with clams or sausage (I swear, my dad just called. I told him I was writing this and he mentioned that he enjoys the subs too, so add that to the list). It's a great big, comfortable Italian restaurant on the edge of a magical, colonial downtown.

Bedford, PA is a neat little historic town with a great downtown area. This local pizza place is right in the thick of it. Breadsticks were good. Sicilian pizza was really thick crust (literally 2 inches). The staff were friendly and the service was great. My only complaint was that the sauce was a little salty. The dough, however, was wonderful. And our family of 4 ate for $30 with leftovers enough for 2 more people!

I am sure they have some really good food but tonight they were not on their "A" game. So what? No one ever is. It is not fair to blast them nor say how great they were when it is not true. I know people and the ownership was extremely nice so it is hard to believe good people can't have a good restaurant. I am not sure if I would be back but being in the area made up for whatever I missed on my plate.

Pizza was good. Pepperoni calzone was all cheese and 3 small disks of pepperoni. I brought most home to add some meat. Staff could use some training with customer relations. Won't be back for that reason. Stick to the pizza and the drive thru. No A/C in the dining room, but there is in the car. We have eaten at OIP in Everett and had a much better experience.

Traditional pizza parlor located on the main drag in town. No delivery, so we called ahead and picked up our order. Everything was ready on time. We ordered pizza and subs and the food was delicious.

We happened to be passing through Bedford and realized we were starving when we yelped some restaurants in the area. Not much came up, so we decided to try this place. I was extremely surprisingly impressed! I wasn't sure what to expect based on only 2 reviews and its "hole in the wall" appearance, but the food was amazing! Not only was the food delicious, but the prices were very reasonable as well. All dinners come with your choice of salad or applesauce AND bread or garlic bread. We ordered stuffed shells & manicotti combination and spaghetti and meatballs. We each got a salad and we shared one order of garlic bread and one regular. The salads were prepared with very fresh lettuce and nicely garnished with cucumber and tomato. Both breads were delicious. They were homemade, served warm and soft, fresh out of the oven. The plain bread was much better than most breads I've had at Italian restaurants and the garlic bread wasn't too oily and had the perfect amount of garlic on it, distributed in tiny minced cubes on top of each bread half. The pasta was perfectly cooked with a flavorful tomato sauce and the meatballs were not too salty or complex, but super flavorful and moist. Best meatballs I've had in a long time. The manicotti and stuffed shells were also delicious, the perfect combination of cheeses and sauce, with the pasta cooked well too. If I'm ever back in Bedford, I'd definitely come here again, and also try their pizza, which looked really good! Hope this place attracts more people and gets more reviews because although it doesn't appear like anything special, it is a very unique find!
