Good diner food--daily specials looked enticing, but we both ended up getting the gyro platter. It was good and hit the spot. Fries were good and they substituted the fries in the kids meals for the chicken soup and broccoli and cheese--the kids loved it! Service was quick and friendly. Prices were Very reasonable for the amount of food! Good quick lunch--would visit again!

Greasy and bland. Not a real diner, either, but an old Wendy's.

Decent but unremarkable diner with good service. The dining room is clean but sparse, by appearances a converted fast food restaurant. The Italian sausage sandwich I ordered was very flavorful - but the accompanying succotash was either from a can or badly overcooked. Others in my party enjoyed and complimented the country-fried steak, open face turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, and gyro. Peach pie was average - not from scratch. Our server was very attentive, however.

We came on Father's day and was seated pretty quick. Our waitress was on it even though the place was pretty packed. I had the spinach and feta omelet which was really good. Especially if you like feta. My friend has the french toast breakfast and my other friend has the full meal of pancakes. They both wanted me to point out to everyone that the sausage is local and made daily. They love and would recommend this to any one. The atmosphere was homey and the place was clean.

One of the best deals you'll find anywhere! A good deal is only as good as what you get, though. Excellent value. Freshly made pastries at breakfast. Wonderful omlettes, home fries, coffee and service. Even if I don't stay in the area, I would stop anytime. Breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This place was exactly what we were looking for on a morning drive from DC to Pittsburgh. Good, cheap breakfast food and generous portions. Our waitress was super friendly too

Had breakfast here today. My French toast and hash browns were very dry. The hubby's omlete had more potatoes (which were also dry) than any of the other ingredients that were listed on the menu. His hash browns were also very dry. The service was good, very attentive.

This is where the locals eat. It's a Bedford County staple, one of the places where I take visitors any chance I get. The prices are great and the portions are very generous. As for the atmosphere, it's a diner. Florescent lights, paper placemats, you know. Nothing fancy. But then, it's not supposed to be. It's a nice casual environment.

Very decent, simple and unpretentious diner. Good service.

The atmosphere was your classic diner ...straight out of the TV show. The waitresses were very friendly, and the food was pretty good. The coconut cake for dessert was the best part of the meal... housemade that day. The location is right on Route 220...and it's surrounded by chains...aka Denny's, Mcdonalds, Hoss's. I'd pick this diner over any of those spots everytime!

Just spent four days in Bedford and ate at some overpriced restaurants with pretentious service and find, but not spectacular food. On our last day we went to the Bedford Diner. The service was no-nonsense but attentive, the food was good, and the price was amazing. I had a Western Omelet with toast and home fries, all of which was very good. My wife had blueberry pancakes that were oozing with blueberries. And the coffee was good. Wish we'd found the diner sooner.

Stopped here when. We were traveling through and we were starving. Had breakfast food at night. Service was quick and very friendly. Food was good. It is just what you hope a local diner will be. Just good good at good prices.

Always courteous, always good food for the money. Tonight I had a half of hickory smoked chicken. WoW! Not a typical find in a diner!

I Was very impressed with service, food and price. If I had to say anything negative, it would be that I was crazy about the home fries. But then again, I'm having breakfast at 7 pm. Not sure about the other menu items but the breakfast was very good.

We came to Bedford for an extended weekend in October to attend the Fall Foliage Festival. Ate at the Bedford Diner for breakfast two times during our stay and on both occasions were impressed. Very friendly, polite servers and fast service. Veggie omelets were very good as well as the side of side of potatoes. The only thing I didn't care for were the canned mushrooms in my omelet. Fresh mushrooms would have made it so much better.. Finished off each meal with an apple dumpling. Not sure if they have them year round or if they are seasonal, or perhaps just during festival time. They are delicious!

My family of 4 ate at the diner yesterday. The portions were good sized and the prices inexpensive. The taste was ok, the service was fine, the interior was too cramped and looked grubby. Both the cheesecake and the mashed potatoes tasted the same. Needless to say, we would not go back but did enjoy our waitress Karla.

The Bedford Diner is a pretty cool little place to grab a bite to eat... and really cheap! You and a friend can get a home cooked style breakfast for under 10 bucks total! I'm really impressed with the food they offer and will be stopping in whenever I get that Diner Itch!

Great spot for a casual, locals-only meat and potatoes meal. We had dinner, but our guess is that lunch and breakfast are both good. Very homemade taste to all the dishes. Kid and elderly friendly. Pierogi special was good, as were the lamb chops. Carrot cake was one of the best any of us have ever had.

Good prices and selection - the 222 is hard to beat; 2 eggs, 2 meats, and 2 pancakes for $2.22, but we found the service slow and the place tight fitting and unaspiring. This must have been a Wendy's at some time as indicated by the enclosed "sunroom" type area although they installed foil colored insulation (exposed) on the ceiling. Not the cleanest or best first impression. Our food was satisfactory and we didn't get sick, so it's good for a cheap bite.

Amazing food, great prices, good service and large quantities. . . . . Fresh ingredients, especially the vegetables. Omlets and pancakes were wonderful!

Skip the Friday fried fish dinner. Fillets are thin and the breading overpowers the fish.

Great omlet and pie. Throw back diner. Waitress was extremley friendly!!! The service was good and we received our food quick!! If you like diner food, I highly recommend a stop at this one!!!

I've been to plenty of diners, especially in New Jersey which has awesome diners. This place just doesn't stack up. The service is good, the environment is about what you'd expect for a diner in south central PA, but the food just isn't good. I came for breakfast, and got a combo platter, which basically had some of everything. The sausage patty looked like someone had flattened it with a pan, and was very burnt. The pancakes come out very thin, and really aren't that good either. I got chocolate chip pancakes, but (and I know this is picky, but come on, I love my chocolate chips don't cheat me here) there were hardly any chocolate chips in them. The eggs were good, but its hard to screw up scrambled eggs. Last complaint, I love seeing the great desserts most diners usually have, but the selection here was nonexistent, and what was there looked like it had come from a grocery store a few days before. On the bright side, the coffee is actually good, and the servers are great.

I travel between DC and Pittsburgh weekly. I have had some very good meals (meatloaf, chick/parm) and some of the absolute worst (steak, Chicken&Waffles) here. Most of the staff are attentive. But when I recently showed my waitress 20 images on my phone of what I believe everyone expects to get when they order Chicken & waffles...she was very indifferent and said that's how we make it. Their chicken and waffles consists of a waffle totally covered in a thick whitish gravy and maybe 1 oz of minced chicken.

Food was standard diner food but the service was really nice. Our waitress, Alicia, had a giant smile on her face every time she came by and was so super attentive even when it got busy. The pies are all homemade. Had the pecan pie and it was quite tasty. Prices are reasonable. Just off the interstate. Would come back again.

Classic diner: good food, great prices, friendly staff, local feel. My wife and I like to find local diners on road trips between Maryland and the Midwest, and this is among the best!

Just left the Bedford Diner and it was actually quite good! Hubby and I got the 2 meals for $20. He got the 1/2 chicken w mashed n gravy. He really enjoyed it. I got the Baked Ham w raisin sauce added a perfectly baked potato and I'm stuffed!!! Delicious! Tasted just like home! Our meals also came w a salad and I chose soup for my 2nd side. SO much food! Service was quick and very friendly. We will certainly consider stopping in again next time we are in town.
